Came around 8:30 on a Monday night with a friend to check out the newest Bay Area matcha/boba shop. I appreciate how the store closes later than others in the plaza, closing at 10PM vs the 9PM of some other places. The staff at the store were all very nice and the interior is amazing! There is very limited seating inside but there is a small amount of tables outside. Since the store is new, there is also a discount if you download and order through the app which is what we did. I ordered the honeydew cloud milk tea M 50% sugar and regular ice. It is a seasonal special and wasn't too sweet! I would order it again. I was pretty excited to hear they have a high angle Photo Booth but it it's $12 so we decided it skip it. Recommend you come here for ease of ordering and to experience the interior decor. read more

After coming back from the SGV, they finally opened their first Bay Area location in Milpitas Square. I went to the grand opening for their BOGO Camellia Oolong Tea Latte or Next Level Matcha Latte promotion. I waited in line for almost 1.5 hours. While waiting for my order, I took the chance to try their green photo booth for free by following their IG and posting a story. The staff helped guide me when to start posing, but had to reboot the whole system, so I was patiently waiting inside a windowless green booth like a mental patient for five minutes. I was satisfied with the pictures, although I had less than 10 seconds to pose in front of the surveillance-style camera. The promo poster caused a bit of confusion, even among the previous customers ahead of me, because it looked like I could mix and match, but it turns out you have to either choose two Camillia Oolong Tea Latte or two Next Level Matcha Lattes to get half the price. I got the Camilla Oolong Tea Latte in oat milk, Matcha Cookie Smoothie, and Blueberry Blizzard Smoothie. I didn't like the popular Camilla Latte, which was a bit watered down and difficult to taste the oolong tea. It felt like I was drinking more oat milk, soaked with one tea bag. The Matcha Cookie Smoothie didn't have a strong matcha flavor, yet it was creamy with matcha whipped cream topped with a Biscoff cookie and chocolate chip sprinkles. The Blueberry Blizzard Smoothie was fun to drink, like it's your birthday. It was smooth to drink with the sweet blueberry puree and blue whipped cream sprinkled with edible white pearls. Since they had a bogo offer for two drinks only, Camellia Oolong MIlk Tea and Next Level Matcha Latte, those are the ones I tried. And wow, quite splendid! I had already sampled the Camellia in the San Gabriel location, and I was hoping this one would be just as good. Indeed it is! Service is also super friendly. The general manager is particularly nice, answering all of our questions, and guiding us along with all the promotional deals (free tote bags and photo booth). The design of the shop is best described as "retro futuristic," as much of the modern decor is infused with throwback elements, such as TV screens with intentional VHS-like blurriness and old fashioned fonts throughout. It's kind of like what someone in the 60s thought the "future" would look like. Unfortunately, this location is considerably smaller than the San Gabriel shop, so it doesn't quite have the same immersive experience, nor the space to hang out. It's not the type of place to chop it up with the homies, nor to sit down to do some homework. There simply isn't much room. Only time will tell how Unique Green Tea will fare in this extremely competitive plaza, against the likes of the OG Fantasia, Hey Tea, Ume, and many others I might have forgotten. However, with a proven track record, UG will most definitely will be a force to reckon with. Drinks: Next Level Matcha Latte: 3.0/5 Per their description on Door Dash, this is their strong matcha latte with a creamy blend, finished with light cheese and a savory touch. This was my drink because I really needed to review their matcha drinks. If I had to describe this drink, it would be sweetened milk with a pinch of salt. The salted cream was alright. This is just a preference because I'm not particularly fond of the salted cheese topping to begin with. It is creamy and slightly salted, which is alright. Texture was fine and it actually mixed really well with the drink. Not too prominent and doesn't contribute too much after it's been mixed. For the drink base itself, it's mostly milk and really just tastes like the milk. My milk of choice today was their "UG Special Milk". Not sure if that makes the taste different...??? I digress. I was already a little concerned with the size of the cup and color of it. The size is 16 ounces, so they would have to put more of the matcha for it to actually have that strong taste of matcha. My initial impression was that the matcha would be diluted given the color. Unfortunately, that seems to be the case here. Very light and milky. Per Door Dash description of this drink, this is their tropical mango tea layered with toasted rice noted and a smooth pandan finish. Pandan and mango combined gives an interesting flavo. Pandan is quite light and I almost didn't get it. This drink is super refreshing and my preferred drink of choice of the two bought though. Flavor is very light overall. Tea flavor is present. My personal favorite was the slight floral hints in this drink. The mango is also present in the drink and tasted really nice. The jelly also adds a nice component to the drink. This would be a good option for a really hot day because of how refreshing it is. Sweetness was good for me, as well. Wait Time: Longer than Expected Their wait time appears to be slightly longer than usual. Something to note is that they do have online orders, as well. There seems to be an abundant of matcha tea shops and UG Tea is another newcomer on the block specialize in matcha latte/ milk tea located in a busy Milpitas Square. Bro and I came by on a Saturday afternoon not a good time and quite surprised by the number of customers waiting indoor. We were lucky enough as we placed our orders via kiosk. Staff were efficient filling up orders and our wait was less than 15 minutes. I got the cocoa cloud smoothie comes in large size 10% sweetness regular ice a perfect summer drink. Bro got the orange jasmine fruit drink 10% sweetness regular a refreshing drink. Upon entry right above the ceiling is a large overhead size decor mirror which is quite innovated interior space is limited no dine-in seating just take-out/pickup. Would definitely be back best to come by on a weekday when it's not so busy and parking is more available. read more

The drink itself however was just okay I got the Rice Floral Green Milk Tea 30% Sweet with Oat Milk, and maybe because it's floral rice (?), or the fact I got oat milk, but the drink tasted like grains/very cereal-like. Sort of like the Japanese Buckwheat Milk Tea from Rabbit Rabbit in Valley Fair. Maybe that's just what it's supposed to taste like, but it's not my personal preference when I'm in a milk tea mood I believe they're more known for their matcha, and I do like that they have other unique options like Camellia Oolong Milk Tea, so I'm willing to give this place another try. However, I feel like this is more of a place you come to for just aesthetics. I visited UG Tea for the first time and really enjoyed their matcha drink! The space is open and brightly light, it feels like an upscale/futuristic matcha shop - cool place to take pictures! I ordered the Next Level Matcha Latte - Medium size, with 30% sugar, regular ice, with the UG special milk. The Matcha Latte was truly light and delicious - the matcha flavor was prominent, with the right amount of sweetness. It was really refreshing on a hot day! The drink was a little over $8. The staff were welcoming and worked pretty fast. The venue was very busy and finding parking can take a bit. Absolutely worth checking out! read more

Went during their grand opening and had their Camelia Oolong Milk Tea and Next Level Matcha. Both were ok! I found the oolong could've been more intense in tea and floral flavor. The first time I had it was watery. Though the second time was better, it was still lacking in intensity. Their fruity drinks are good though! I really enjoyed their peach drink with peach bits. Yummy and refreshing. The matcha was just okay if you don't like your matcha very strong. It's on the milkier side, but otherwise was a fine drink. Overall, it's just ok. The competition is stiff in this plaza! I wouldn't revisit unless there was a promotion. read more

Came here on Saturday June 5th at 2:30PM. Took a bit to get to the ordering kiosk but it wasn't bad. What was bad, however, was how long it took to get our drinks. 1 hour! Honestly, it took a lot of effort to get the drinks (this parking lot is really awful to park in), the wait was bad, but when I took a sip of our drinks, it was worth it. I mean, I wouldn't come back when its busy, but I'm glad I got to try it. My group ordered: - CAMILLA OOLONG MILK TEA (30% sugar)- unexpectedly good. Would get again. A nice floral to balance out the black tea. - NEXT LEVEL MATCHA LATTE (10% sugar) - tastes like matcha, but my cousins liked it. - JASMINE MATCHA CREAM LATTE (10% sugar) - very good, creamy. 10% seems to the the spot. I visited UG Tea on the second day of opening. My first impressions was how the decorations looked straight out of Gentle Monster. The menu itself to me seemed slightly overwhelming since everything looked too fancy, but I decided to order the - Osmanthus Oolong milk tea. In all honesty, I love the branding and the aesthetic this place had but their milk tea was a 7/10 best. It was good but not special and since this place is starting to gain traction, I wouldn't recommend it since you'd be stuck waiting around an hour. The service is the reason why this isn't a 3 star review. Funny thing is that this store wasn't even listed yet on DoorDash so when I ordered it through DoorDash, it redirected to the location in LA. I was able to cancel the order but the manager was extremely helpful in getting a refund. 10/10 customer service. read more

came here cause I saw the hype on tiktok. safe to say it's overhyped. i ordered online and it took about 25 minutes which wasn't too bad. the inside of the store is aesthetic but small. they don't really have any seating inside. I wish they would let us do adjustments like light ice. the next level matcha was good, the matcha isn't that strong. i got the cloud matcha and it kinda reminded me of watered down matcha. the cookie matcha is on the sweeter side, couldn't really taste the matcha. there are definitely other matcha places better than here. i got matchatown the day after and the difference in matcha quality was night and day. jf you want to visit and try it out, i recommend trying the next level matcha since it's has the strongest matcha taste outta everything else. read more

This is new tea shop from Taiwan that just opened in the Bay Area. I went during the soft opening and the line was about 30 minutes on a weekday. The employees worked quickly though. The interior is VERY MODERN and filled with different things to look at and even do, such as the photobooth corner. It does cost money to use it however. They set the standard sweetness at 30% which is interesting, much lower than standard stores in the area. I got 2 drinks during this visit: - Matcha cloud (6/10): a matcha latte topped with a matcha cream -- the cream was yummy however the matcha latte itself was watered down and was lacking in matcha flavor. Strangely the 30% sweetness for this drink was EXTREMELY SWEET, it tasted like 100% in my opinion. Unfortunately I don't think I would get this again :/ - Camellia espresso (6/10): this was a tea and espresso combination but the tea aroma was also lacking I had high hopes for the drinks but was disappointed. Glad I gave this place a try, it's definitely one of the most unique stores I've been in and looking around was definitely an experience in itself!! read more
