An aesthetic Taiwanese tea shop just opened their first Bay Area location in Milpitas. UG Tea is known for their minimalist aesthetic, whole leaf teas and futuristic café vibes that reminds me of Gentle Monster. This is their third location after LA and Seattle. I tried: Camellia Oolong Milk Tea, smooth oolong with floral notes. My favorite! Next Level Matcha Latte, thick creamy matcha with a savory cheese finish. Loving the strong, creamy and milky matcha. Matcha Cookie, icy matcha blended with buttery cookie flavor. Fun fact: they plant 1 tree for every 1,000 drinks sold. The photobooth inside was such a cute touch. Gather your crew and check out this new spot!

I heard Uniquely Green (UG) being called the "Gentle Monster" of boba tea shops, and after visiting, I totally get why! The interior is stunningly futuristic, sleek, and minimalist, featuring a lot of metallic silver and vibrant green accents. They clearly put a ton of thought into curating a space that is incredibly visually pleasing and highly aesthetic. But it's not just about the looks, the drinks are fantastic. They serve exceptional matcha here; you can instantly tell they use high-quality powder, and every drink is crafted with precision. The most impressive part of the experience was the efficiency. Despite the absolute crowd, they were pumping out orders at lightning speed. We were easily 80th in line for drinks, but our order came out in under 20 minutes. For comparison, a line that long could easily mean a 30 to 50-minute wait at a spot like HeyTea. If you appreciate great matcha and a cool atmosphere, this spot is an absolute must-visit!

Very tasty matcha latte and camellia oolong milk tea. Come soon while they still have the new membership promo. We got $5 off on the first drink then came back to get the free camellia oolong milk tea on our 2nd visit. The interior is gives me the vibe of kpop. They have a restroom in the store (thank you!) So many boba shops removed customer restrooms completely since Covid. This can be a plus especially if you plan to sit here to chat with friends. They have several outside tables as well as some benches for you to sit and wait for your drinks. We plan come back soon to try the other drinks.

Revisited UG to cash in a coupon and this time decided to try their matcha cookie smoothie. There was no line to order anymore, but still about a 20 minute wait for the drinks to be ready. Drink was decent, but also nothing standout about it - maintaining 7.5/10

A new tea place called UG Tea just opened up in Milpitas Square. The parking is terrible during lunch time, but better off hours or dinner time. The decor is sleek and interesting. A lot of photo opportunities. They even have a photo booth. They have a few cushioned benches for you to sit down. Otherwise, a couple of tables outside. Two kiosks and/or cashier to order from. The staff wear specific uniforms to showcase UG Tea. One unisex restroom only. I ordered the Rice Floral Green Milk Tea (+Tea jelly). The drink was creamy and a light floral flavor. Support your local business.

The San Gabriel valleyzation of Milpitas is among us. Every day I see a new Boba shop or viral eatery opening up or on TikTok within the vicinity of Milpitas and already know the traffic boom is gonna be worse than it already is but hey at least that means there's so much food now too bad everything new is never in the east Bay. I ordered the Jasmine milk tea and Matcha. The decor and packaging is very on point. The macho was well-crafted the Jasmine milk tea. Maybe I took too long to drink it but felt like the cream overpowered tea or Jasmine flavor.

I had high hopes for this place as they have other locations as well, nice decor/aesthetics, a lot of green (matcha), and a cool photo booth. You can order from them or through the kiosk. Drinks I tried: matcha cookie smoothie (into matcha biscoff lately) and cloud matcha latte (I love cream pecan), but both drinks were ok. More on the milky side, not much matcha. Maybeeeee I would try dif drink in the future

Good matcha spot especially the next level matcha with the recommended 30% sweetness. I enjoy more of the matcha flavor over the sweeter matcha drinks. The service was friendly and it was a slow day that I got my drinks so line and only 4 people had ordered before me. The decor was has a modern feel. I will be coming back to try different drinks. But so far my favor is the next level matcha. Love it.

After coming back from the SGV, they finally opened their first Bay Area location in Milpitas Square. I went to the grand opening for their BOGO Camellia Oolong Tea Latte or Next Level Matcha Latte promotion. I waited in line for almost 1.5 hours. While waiting for my order, I took the chance to try their green photo booth for free by following their IG and posting a story. The staff helped guide me when to start posing, but had to reboot the whole system, so I was patiently waiting inside a windowless green booth like a mental patient for five minutes. I was satisfied with the pictures, although I had less than 10 seconds to pose in front of the surveillance-style camera. The promo poster caused a bit of confusion, even among the previous customers ahead of me, because it looked like I could mix and match, but it turns out you have to either choose two Camillia Oolong Tea Latte or two Next Level Matcha Lattes to get half the price. I got the Camilla Oolong Tea Latte in oat milk, Matcha Cookie Smoothie, and Blueberry Blizzard Smoothie. I didn't like the popular Camilla Latte, which was a bit watered down and difficult to taste the oolong tea. It felt like I was drinking more oat milk, soaked with one tea bag. The Matcha Cookie Smoothie didn't have a strong matcha flavor, yet it was creamy with matcha whipped cream topped with a Biscoff cookie and chocolate chip sprinkles. The Blueberry Blizzard Smoothie was fun to drink, like it's your birthday. It was smooth to drink with the sweet blueberry puree and blue whipped cream sprinkled with edible white pearls. I really like the futuristic green decor, but there weren't many seats inside, and it was small. The staff were all friendly. My suggestion for the grand opening is to offer samples of their popular lattes to all customers waiting in line for over 30 minutes. The drinks were not as good as in SGV, despite the hype on social media.

Decently good, not great, and DEFINITELY not something I'd wait long for. My boyfriend and I tried 4 drinks. His favorites were the next level matcha latte and the matcha cookie smoothie, but my favorite was the mango rice floral fruit tea. The matchas are pretty light and on the grassier side, but I tend to prefer strong matchas with more nuttiness. The matcha cookie smoothie tasted quite bland, but once it begins to melt it tastes a lot better. The mango floral rice tea was super unique and tart. The jasmine milk tea tasted a bit watered down for my liking, with an interesting smoky after note. Interior looks super sleek, metallic, and futuristic. Definitely lures you in. I believe they also have a photo booth. Our four drinks took almost an hour because of how packed it was. I'd say to wait for the hype to come down before visiting.

Another yummy matcha place! I ordered the 15 jasmine matcha cream latte. Tbh, it reminded me of the premium jasmine matcha from Molly Tea. I still loved it though! I did go a few days after the soft opening and it was a Sunday, so the wait was LONG! I'm talking about 1 hour long lol... Had I known the wait was going to be so long, I would've ordered multiple drinks. The drink was good, but I can't justify myself waiting for an hour again. Although they do have an app so if I am in the area again, I'll definitely be ordering ahead and making my way there as my last destination to pick up my drink!

I wanted to see how this location compared to the San Gabriel location and in all aspects it's severely disappointing. The business itself can't do anything if the actual physical location is too small. It's nowhere as decorative or impressive as the SGV location with the photo opportunities, decor and signage outside and seating in comparison. This place super pales and is so small and not as aesthetically pleasing in the Y2K millenial way. I saw that there was a line and decided to pre-order via Fantuan. They gave me a pick up time order window. We came slightly later than the estimated pick up time and then was told that it would at least take another hour. I ordered around 11 AM when they told us at around 2 PM that it would take another hour. Embarrassing, do better. ANOTHER WIN FOR SOCAL.

Grand opening day bogo madness! 05/30/26

Visit details: Date and Time: Grand Opening, Saturday, 05/30/26, 8:30 to 10 pm Crowd: Queued At least 100 deep down the block Demographics 60% East Asian, 35% Southeast Asian, 5% Other Total wait time: A tad over an hour from lining up to receiving drinks The highly anticipated Milpitas branch of Unique Green Tea has finally opened its doors! As the fancier, more aesthetic version of ShareTea, UG aims to provide a fun, whimsical backdrop in which to imbibe its high quality drinks. As expected, on grand opening bogo day, an absolutely massive crowd was on hand! We all know how whenever there is a new business in the Bay Area with ties to SoCal, people will line up in droves! Overall, the wait actually wasn't bad. It was about an hour or so from the time I got in line until the drinks were ready. Since they had a bogo offer for two drinks only, Camellia Oolong MIlk Tea and Next Level Matcha Latte, those are the ones I tried. And wow, quite splendid! I had already sampled the Camellia in the San Gabriel location, and I was hoping this one would be just as good. Indeed it is! Service is also super friendly. The general manager is particularly nice, answering all of our questions, and guiding us along with all the promotional deals (free tote bags and photo booth). The design of the shop is best described as "retro futuristic," as much of the modern decor is infused with throwback elements, such as TV screens with intentional VHS-like blurriness and old fashioned fonts throughout. It's kind of like what someone in the 60s thought the "future" would look like. Unfortunately, this location is considerably smaller than the San Gabriel shop, so it doesn't quite have the same immersive experience, nor the space to hang out. It's not the type of place to chop it up with the homies, nor to sit down to do some homework. There simply isn't much room. Only time will tell how Unique Green Tea will fare in this extremely competitive plaza, against the likes of the OG Fantasia, Hey Tea, Ume, and many others I might have forgotten. However, with a proven track record, UG will most definitely will be a force to reckon with. The only question is if the lack of tables and seating capacity will be a major impact, since nifty looking retro futuristic design can only get one so far. The drinks do indeed speak for themselves though

The jasmine milk tea was smooth and refreshing with a fragrant tea flavor that came through nicely without being overwhelmed by sweetness. The boba pearls were soft, chewy, and cooked just right, making the drink even more enjoyable. The muddy Okinawa milk tea was richer and creamier, with a delicious caramelized brown sugar flavor that added depth and sweetness. It felt indulgent without being overly heavy and was a great contrast to the lighter jasmine milk tea. Service was friendly and efficient, and the drinks were prepared quickly. The vibe is casual and relaxed, making it a nice place to grab a drink, study, or catch up with friends. It's a reliable neighborhood boba spot that has been around for years and continues to be a local favorite. Overall, a solid choice for classic milk teas and quality boba. I'd happily order both drinks again.
