OK spot. Two of us ordered: -green tea $5.55 --boba extra $0.80 -coco mango jasmine bloom $7.25 --large extra $1 Added $0.35 service charge for ordering on tablet? Tea flavor was minimal. Their version of mango sago drink was subpar as well. Difficult parking in the plaza during peak hours.

They announced a combo with the Loopy Tote bag, but I received a different one from the picture. They already had a deal on that bag a few weeks ago. So disappointed after ordering; they followed what they announced, but they gave me this one instead of what they promoted! I feel I got SCAMMED when I supported Ume during their new store opening or new drink launch.

The 3 stars was really due to the wait. We waited 28 minutes for our drinks. That just seemed ridiculous to me for 4 drinks. It was busy in there, but 28 mins? Ugh. We came at 3pm on a Thursday too, so I can only imagine if it was a weekend. They did have a cart outside for free oolong tea, but of course it was empty. Nice gesture though. The decor was great. I like how they had a big fluffy bunny outside drinking a tea and also a cute bunny inside sitting. My actual drink was great. I got a mango one. Delicious. I drank it so fast or maybe I was so thirsty after waiting. Haha.

I only got to try the popcorn chicken this visit, so I'm giving 4 stars based on that alone. I'll happily revisit and update my rating once I've had a chance to try their drinks, which seem to be what most people come here for. I ordered the spicy popcorn chicken, and I was pleasantly surprised that it was actually spicy. They don't skimp on the seasoning either. The spice blend is different from the typical Taiwanese popcorn chicken seasoning. It's more reminiscent of the chili powder you'd find on Chinese BBQ skewers, with noticeable cumin and a touch of sweetness. Personally, I could do without the sugar since I prefer more savory flavors, but the seasoning itself was unique and memorable. At around $11 for an order, it initially felt expensive, but the portion is definitely shareable for two people. One of my favorite parts was the little crispy fried bits at the bottom of the box. They were packed with flavor and honestly just as enjoyable as the chicken itself. The chicken was juicy, although the exterior wasn't quite as crispy as I'd hoped, likely because it had been sitting in a closed takeout box. In hindsight, I really should have ordered a drink. The popcorn chicken practically begs to be paired with one. As for the experience, the shop was surprisingly busy for 9 PM on a Monday night, which says something about its popularity. The interior is bright, pink, and energetic, with a fun atmosphere. However, the wait time was the biggest drawback. Their ordering system was down during my visit, which likely contributed to the delay, but I still waited around 30-40+ minutes for what is essentially a quick snack. Based on other reviews, long waits don't seem uncommon. Overall, I'd come back for the popcorn chicken and to finally try the drinks, but I'd strongly recommend budgeting extra time. If they can improve the speed of service, this would be a much easier place to recommend.

There's lots of boba shops in the Milpitas plaza that everybody knows.... but competitive wise, Ume Tea beats them all for size and quality of the drinks. Me and my cousin happened to stop by here one day and we found that Ume Tea was doing this deal, where they were giving out mini plushies as part of a boba drink deal. Without hesitation, we went to purchase them. The ordering process and the process it took to make drinks was rather quick -- it was all done in under 10 to 15 minutes. While the drinks were rather expensive and smaller than expected, the thought put into the matcha and milk tea drinks were exquisite. The ambiance of the store was pretty open, and I'm just really glad that we were able to get the drinks in an efficient way possible. I will definitely be back to try more drinks in the future -- it's worth a bang for my buck and I definitely will be back!

My 8pm Visit (4 stars) Initially when I got my popcorn chicken snack order I was like where's the basil? I found shrunk basil at the bottom. I wish they'd put more just so it balances all of that fried goodness. I had to wait about 10 minutes and it came out piping hot. The popcorn chicken is standard. I was craving Shihlin but they closed. I'd say this is a good second place to Shihlin. Ume's kiosk ordering system is quite intuitive. The screen has big buttons that are easy to tap. The pink decor and cutesy Asian music gives this place an anime ambience. My wife's 9:30pm visit (-3 stars) She ordered 3 drinks - sticky rice yogurt, mango coconut twilight and brown sugar boba fresh milk. It took 40 mins for her to get the drinks. On the screen, her number is supposedly next but the guy managing the drinks keeps skipping her number and gave drinks to others behind her. She asked him the status and he said he's waiting for 1 more drink. She stood there watching and she saw him giving that drink to another person who ordered way after her. She asked again where's her drinks and the guy looks confused. He asked the other girl who's making the drink and she said she already made it. Which means he gave the drink to another customer. The guy who's managing the drinks is slow, inefficient and confused. Either he's not trained properly which is caused by the poor management of the owner or the guy is just not the right fit for the job. After my wife got her drinks, she asked about the free bunny (if you spend over $20), and the guy told her it's sold out. My wife was very upset because if they run out, they should not put a note saying "if you order above $20, you get a free nice-scented bunny". Thats misleading and false advisement. She ordered extra drink, hoping to get the free bunny for the kids. If it's already run out, they should remove the note and not mislead customers. This made her more upset after waiting 40 mins for her drinks! He didn't even offer anything for the poor customer service. Meanwhile, I'm in the car asking her what's taking so long. The drinks are good, consistent with other locations but this location has poor management overall! False advertising and 40 mins for 3 drinks are unacceptable! Normally, I'd take photos of my purchases but I'm too upset to even look at these drinks.

It's a hit or miss on who makes my tea! Some days it's so yummy creamy and some days it's watery. But the creamyness always brings me back and it's so darn cute in here or all their location. Came in after we got lunch and it took really long to get our drinks. Got the promotion dessert/drink. Had a lots going on. It was ok maybe opt out of the bread bit as it gets soggy. The guava strawberry yogurt was watery and lack of guava flavor.

Been to Ume Tea at the Great Mall location as well as this one in Milpitas Square. Parking at Milpitas Square can be challenging during peak hours. I've primarily been ordering the coco mango drinks. Plenty of authentic mango and coconut flavor. I really like all the textural elements as well with the pomelo and sago in the drink. My local friend says their tea is top 3 in the South Bay in terms of strength and flavor. I trust him because he is a psychopath that orders with 0% sweetness. A note - if you order at the kiosks, there is a kiosk charge of $0.35.

Came in after dinner for a sweet treat. Store is all pink with cute characters and merchandise. Order via kiosk and drinks came out shortly. They had samples outside the store and limited seating inside. I got 3 milk teas with different toppings. The milk tea was average and wasn't too sweet. The purple rice had good texture and wasn't too hard. The boba wasn't good. A bit tough in the center and soggy outside. The pudding was good. Average milk teas place with nice decor. Would comeback to try their popcorn chicken.

I've been coming here a few times and I can say their regular milk tea is good but their fruit drinks are better. I had their new guava drink that just released and I drank it in 30 minutes. The oat popping boba matches well with the texture of the drink and the drink itself has good guava flavor.

I walked in to explore the shop. Kiosk ordering and there is a Mega fruit tea on the menu that is on my list to try next time. If you put the word Mega in front of it, I want to try. Cute space decked out in fun shades. Indoors seating. Please come and create your own adventure.

A fun gamified experience to tea! On 9pm on a Saturday night, Ume tea was absolutely packed, much to my surprise. Being in the heart of Milpitas does have its benefits I suppose ;). There are two kiosks to order from. The menu selection is pretty large, so it may take a while to wait for others to place their order (talk about option paralysis!). There are 3-4 tables to sit at -- all full on Saturday night -- and some bench seating by the wall. The store is super bright so definitely keeps you awake. I ordered the grape tea with green tea jelly, with the special stuffed animal. Because it was so crowded, it took 20+ minutes to get my drink, which is honestly pretty long considering I expected to just grab and go. The excitement of opening my keychain really eased the wait time though -- added a cute graduation bear to my collection. The tea itself is pretty average -- good sweetness level and can taste the tea, but nothing to rave about. The texture of the green tea jelly was great and paired surprisingly well with the tea. I'd definitely take my friends to Ume for the cute plushy unboxing experience but would probably not wait too long in line if I was only getting the drinks. As one of the only stores open late though, I think it's a good option if you're craving late night tea.
