Came with couple friends to supposed local business. Kind of small store , only 3-4 tables, warm ambience. I only like the halo halo original, tastes much like icee, would definitely go back for more halo halo. One of the cashier seems like she didn't like her job, bad attitude when taking our orders, anyhow
I mainly come here for the Ube Cupcakes with Flan or the Ube Crinkles. I love that you can schedule a pick up order online and schedule when to pick it up your order. Everything on the menu is Ube. My coworkers wish the store sell the flan separate from the cupcake. On some days, the Ube Cupcake is dry and not moist.
Recently been introduced to the location. We loved the first experience and headed today to this location after a hike nearby. Pleasant experience once again and was surprised with a Mother's Day treat-- so sweet! Everything we have tried so far is yummy. We brought home extra sweets for the week. Place is consistently clean and staff is consistently nice.
I loved the mais con yelo. It was sweet, refreshing, and exactly what I needed to cool down on a hot, humid afternoon. My parents and I also took advantage of the buy-one-get-one-free deal on July 4th, and we were thrilled with both the quantity and the quality of the drinks. I also want to give a shoutout to the staff for their kind hospitality. They even held the door open for my mom as we were leaving with our drinks, which was very thoughtful of them. We'll definitely be back!
4.5 stare Located in a small strip center. Other business are 7-11, Los Altos Taqueria, Sri Lakshmi vegetarian restaurant. it's on the corner of Dixon Rd and Millmont in Mi,pitas. A friend told me about this little bakery. It was new to me, but found out they had other Bay Area locations and I saw a YOUTUBE blogger said they actually started in Southern California. My friend recommended the Ube butter bars and also mentioned desserts with an Ube forward names. But they also had other items like Filipino halo halo etc. Staff was friendly and accommodating and basically you walk in and you order from a tablet and then dessert is brought to the front and bagged. Very simple concept it allows people to come in and come out quickly. Almost $59.00 total, the first time order consisted of: (see picture) Leche flan cupcake Ube butter bars Ube cheesecake Ube tres leche cake Turon pop tart Halo Halo (ice dessert) Peach mango tea w/ boba (pearls) All in all, it's for someone who adors Ube. Just in case you've never heard of UBE. it is a Filipino purple sweet potato that's commonly used in desserts and I'm told a few savory dishes. Think of Americans orange sweet potatoes for both desserts and savory dishes. It's worth a drive by. :)
cute little place w lots of ube stuff churrochi w ube ice cream - 10/10 amazing yummy wow upside down halo halo - 8/10 good but too much volume for me - i would've preferred half the volume for half the price ube flan cupcake - 5/10 kinda eh, I think bc my brain always assumes flan = Taiwanese "pudding" from my childhood but alas no - felt a lil on the dry/hard side for me ube crinkle cookie - 6/10 tasted good but not worth the price total was like 35 bucks for 4 items id go back to get the churrochi again & try other things tho
I stumbled upon this Cafe 86 location while driving around Milpitas. The parking lot is small for all the businesses in this strip mall. The cafe is decorated like their other locations. A couch, window seating, and several small tables to sit at. One unisex restroom with code lock. Order via kiosk or cashier. House music playing. The service was warm and friendly! House Milk Tea (less ice and less sweet, +$ boba) - the boba was nice, soft, and chewy. The milk tea was good (4/5). Ube Crinkle Cookie (4/5) - light, soft, cake-like cookie dusted with powdered sugar. Support your local business.
The last I had Cafe 86 was when I was in So-Cal and that was many years ago and I had forgotten about this chain until recently. We ordered the ube tres leches, flan with ube cupcake, and turon poptart. The ube tres leches was almost perfection aside from the icing tasting chalky. The flan was great but the cupcake was dense. The turon poptart was amazing. It was slightly busy and we had already waited nearly half an hour for our to-go order. We regretted asking to heat up the poptart since the staff ended up forgetting and we waited an additional 5 minutes.
12/28/2025. Bought w friends off door dash. Was see in the very pricy side since it's door dash. Prices will be based on their website Got the ube monster milkshake w boba 24 oz ($9.5) Which was an additional +1.05. There were def some ube flavors and I think it worked well w the Oreos inside. The boba was decently chewy but a bit bland. However, it was pricy for this drink and especially when I got an allergy reaction to it. I didn't drink or eat anything else since consuming this particular drink at 2 pm and now it's 8 pm, got some minor hives (allergy). I am allergic to un-fresh seafood, dust, food coloring, some animal fur... but this is odd. If the Ube is fresh w no additive or food coloring, it should not have affected me... thus. I am deeply questioning the quality of the drink and the high prices. The Ube crinkles ($4.5) was slightly disappointing. As u can see it was small but good to taste. Despite the red flag of the extreme purple Ube drink, I tried it since this shop is well known for its Ube food and drink. Plus, Ube is naturally very purple. Unfortunately, the expectation was too high and fell w disappointment. But the food wasn't too bad, just minor stuffs w/ allergy reaction. Prob not my goto spot + the distance. Overall 3.5/5
First time coming to Cafe 86. My family tried the Ube Monster mini and Thai tea monster. Very delish and delightful. Enjoyed the vibes and the drink! The place was very clean and presentable to hang out with family for Ube sweets. Customer service was friendly. Will be back to try more from the Menu next time My son rated his Ube monster mini 10/10 My bf rated his Ube monster mini 9/10 Myself with the Thai monster 9/10 Milkshake isn't watered down and can taste the flavors and Oreo cookie in the drinks. Yum! Def better than any Ube drink/ Thai tea I've had in a long time.
We came for to try their drinks and we got the nutella iced latte with oatmilk and it was perfectly sweetened without it being overly sweet. I love the uniqueness of the nutella flavor and would definitely get this latte again! This place had a warm smell and good amount of seating to spot and eat in. They had a nice selection of bakery items too to choose from!

Love the selection they have. I got the lecheflan cupcake, ube krinkle cookie and calamansi drink. I think my favorite was the leche flan cupcake. I want to try more of their other goodies. Quick and easy service. You can order at the register or a kiosk. Really nice customer service
We were hankering for dessert after a seafood dinner in Milpitas. Café 86 looked enticing after a quick Yelp search. Easy parking on a Friday night in this small commercial complex. The shop had a few tables for fours and twos but we managed to snag the sofa with the low table for our party of 5. The shop was clean and adorned with Filipino themed decor. We ordered via the self-order kiosk then waited for our orders. The Upside Down Halo Halo was what I was looking forward to. In hindsight, I should've gotten the ube ice cream upgrade as that would've made this dessert taste a 110%. The desserts we got were the Ube Leche Flan Cupcake and Ube Crack Cheesecake. These desserts were just as impressive. Soft and flavorful without being too indulgent. You can really taste the quality in every bite. Absolutely loved everything from our first visit at Café 86! The drinks were also delicious, rich and creamy without being overly sweet. This is a decent destination for Filipino desserts, gloriously overloaded with ube. The culinary innovation here are a sight to behold. They have quiet an array of other decadent items I want to try next. Highly recommend! read more
Came here to study as it was close to where I live and it was nice. I ordered the Ube Matcha and I really loved how I could taste the Ube flavor. It was unique in a way that it was a paste more than a syrup and the Matcha was rich, so it blended well together. I do think it was on the sweeter side so was the Thai tea that we got. But the Thai tea was only $3.50 so that was really worth it, and it was bigger. The place is cozy. There is a there's a couch and some tables. I would still come back to try the other desserts and pastries that they have they look really good! read more

Staff is welcoming and friendly! You can either order on the kiosk or with staff member! Lots of variety baked goods from ube leche flan to ube tres leches to halo halo bread pudding! There is a variety of drinks to choose from as well which is nice! A few tables inside to sit, inside and there is a restroom available. There is plenty of parking available too! read more
So happy to see Café 86 open in town! This super cute Filipino café specializes in ube-inspired desserts. We've loved their ube leche flan cupcake and ube truffle since their SoCal days and still just as delicious and easily their best! Tried the ube tres leches for the first time and it was amazing. The only miss was the seasonal pumpkin spice ube latte. Too sweet and barely any espresso flavor (glad it's seasonal!). Overall, a must-visit for ube lovers...cozy vibes, great service, and seriously good desserts! read more

Came here cause I was wanting halo halo and it was just average. We ordered in the self kiosk but it took 30 mins to get our order. Those who ordered after us got their order first. Limited seating but if there's big groups it can get loud. As far as the halo halo, I miss the traditional one. The corn flakes replace the pinipig which was ok. The other toppings just not tasting the same. Miss the beans. There was like a bitter taste after each bite, not sure where it came from. I did enjoy the ube ice cream on top. Flan could be creamier. The upside down halo halo good concept but still it misses the traditional halo halo taste. read more

The ube flan cupcake and the ube matcha latte were great! Definitely would get those again. But the poptart and the ube milk tea I probably wouldn't get again. We asked for the pop tart to be reheated and it got soggy. We thought the ube milk tea was just ok. I'd rather try something new next time. read more
This a little cafe near 880 freeway. Pretty easy to get to but the parking lot is a disaster. Inside is quaint with soft music and clean tables and chairs. Theres a mini sofa with coffee table to add to the relax aesthetics. I got matcha pandan latte, Ube Milk tea added lychee, a Mais con yelo bar, and an Ube crinkle cookie. The pandan flavors hits I would order this drink again. The Ube milk tea unfortunately was overwhelmed by the lychee jelly. Next time I would get it without add one. The Ube crinkle cookie was good, but had very little Ube flavor. The mais con yelo bar is a milk corn bar. It was interesting, good butter crust with a cream corn custard. A lot of corn flavor came through. There was only one person working the kitchen but she still got our order out pretty quickly. We came in while the cafe was empty so we got lucky. Soon after we ordered more people came in and I saw them waiting much longer than I did. read more

If you love all things Ube this is the best place for it! I had the Ube matcha latte and Ube cookies. Both were amazing and delicious! The staff is very friendly and the service was great considering the place was packed on a Sunday afternoon. The vibe was energetic with lots of family and friends hanging out. All sorts of baked goods made with ube. I ordered a few items to go. I liked the ube crinkles. I forgot to put the ube bread pudding in the microwave and I'm sure it would have been better warm. It came with a side of ube ice cream. Friendly and courteous staff. Their fruit tea had a nice fruity flavor. There are a few seats inside. This storefront is located in a small plaza with other eateries and a shared parking lot. read more

If you were an Uber lover, this is the place to go the chill vibe as you're waiting for your drink to be done gives me life The Ube latte has just the amount of sweetness you need and the taste is off the hook The flan is perfectly dense enough to sit on top of the ube cupcake. I first took a bite of them separately, and I was so surprised that the top of the cupcake wasn't soggy cause in my brain that's what would happen, but it wasn't then I tried them together magic in my mouth! read more

I was so exited to hear Cafe 86 was finally open near me. You can order in person or on a kiosk so if there's a line it goes by pretty quick. The employees were so nice and packaged all the pastries well. My favorites are the ube butter bars and turon pop part. Definitely coming back to pick up more pastries and drinks. read more

It's been a while since I've been to a Cafe 86, but with one now close to home, we were excited to go check it out because who doesn't love dessert! They have a person to take your order and also a "self service" ordering kiosk. We chose to order from the register. (FYI - they are a cashless place.). The person taking our order was very nice and offered up recommendations. We ended up ordering the Ube Tres leches, Ube Turon tart, the Ube cheesecake, and the Ube flan. Sounds like a lot for two people, but best way to share and try different desserts. My daughter also ordered the strawberry calamansi drink. The decor was done real nice and for opening up today, there was a DJ, balloons and lots of people. read more
Bro and I were here three months ago when they had their grand opening day and there was already a line out the door which is no surprise. The popularity of Filipino shaved ice dessert or known as upside down halo halo is their top signature drinks along with ube bread pudding, bread, ube flan cake/cookies. Bro and I came by on a Sunday morning shortly before noon and we were greeted very warmly by the staff. We placed our orders thru a self-service kiosk they don't accept cash it's either a credit or debit card. First item to choose is the upside down halo halo comprised of beans, jack fruits, boba, frosted flakes and top it off with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and second item on the list is the Thai tea monster milkshake thick creamy with bits of oreo toppings. Bro's famous drink for its richness flavor creamy with a delightful taste. Timing wasn't so bad as we were the only customers and wait time was very short. They had the music playing in the background with limited seating mainly take-outs. Would definitely be back location much closer to home than the one in Union City. read more
