Aftet a heavy meal from one of the restaurants near by, we decided to visit this place for some dessert and drinks. They aee built for to-go only because they didnt have any chairs or tables. Service, was good considerong he was the only one working and he managed to complete our big order. The cold brew tasted very good, the fish waffles were nice and warm when served. Great spot for dessert.
Order on the tablet. No human interaction needed. The guy got to work and was making our stuff. 5 fish for 9.75 and you choose the filling - now this is a good deal! We got a pack of that. And also a soft serve cookies n' cream. I honestly thought the cookies n cream tasted a big weird. It wasnt what I was used to. So that is why I knocked down a star. I took a few bites and was over it.
Love that there's a stand alone location outside of Valley Fair. The service is much faster than the location in the mall. You can be in and out in less than 5 minutes. I like the upside down Ahbong to make it easier to eat. Light on the filling. The soft serve is nice and creamy. Will be back!

Good presentation and cute fish. If you like the Japanese Taiyaki, then this is the place for you. For me, I'm only interested in their sesame ice cream. After debating if I should just get the sesame ice cream or a milk and sesame swirl, I made the wrong choice and greed drove me to get the swirl. I was disappointed as the swirl was more milky and sweet than the rich sesame I was hoping for. Nevertheless, Somi Somi is a kid pleaser and my child was pleasantly happy with her Taiyaki ice cream.
This ice cream here was pretty good. Smooth and nice flavor combos. I got the Ube matcha swirl and the banana matcha swirls. There were so many toppings to choose from. The taiyaki was fresh so the warm bread with the melted ice cream was perfect together. I got my order with a few minutes because there weren't many people and the workers there stated making our order as soon as the order went through. Inside was spacious, I wished there were tables but there weren't many people working so I can see why it's more of a takeout.
All time favorite dessert place! Crispy taiyaki upside down with cherry blossom and matcha ice cream. It was quick and fast service. Overall clean and spacious venue.
This spot was really good. I got the matcha and ube swirl and I loved it. It was just the right amount of sweetness without being too heavy. The taiyaki was great too. It was soft on the inside with a little crisp on the outside, which made it perfect. The place was really busy when we went, but the service was quick and we got our ice cream fast. The location is really convenient, though parking can be tough since it's such a popular spot.
This is our second time at Somi Somi at this location and we love it! The service is fast and the people are attentive and kind. The flavors are always delicious and the topping choices are fun. I took some pictures of the menu because I wanted to make sure everyone knew they had to choose one of four options for how you want to be served. I was confused the first time I came as the menu was different. We got the ube and chocolate swirl with the upside down ahboong filled with red bean. The cookies and cream is also delicious with the Nutella filling. Once they have poured your soft serve, they will call you up to the counter to tell them which toppings you want. There are cocoa pebbles, fruity pebbles, Oreo dust, butterfinger dust, etc. you can also choose to have a macaroon or a strawberry as a topper. The store is clean and tidy, there's also a water container for self serve water. They also have napkins and trash cans. There aren't any tables inside for seating, but there is a bench outside. The parking lot for this strip mall is a nightmare. This is the only pitfall of this location. You'll have to bring all of your patience to get a spot. Plan ahead by parking on the street or Lyftng there.
Soft serve with interesting flavors in rotation can be found here at Somisomi, a popular chain that's made a strong impression on me every time I've been to one. This particular Somisomi is located in an extremely busy mall full of Asian eateries, cafes and shops and therefore parking is a real pain. If you're already here for something else, it's a perfect excuse to make your way to grab a cup or cone of Somisomi's delicious cold desserts. Like all of their locations, the soft serve can be ordered with a cup or a waffle cone shaped like a fish. Within that cone, you'll have the option to fill it up with some toppings like red bean or Nutella. After the soft serve goes in, you'll finally be able to top it off with some additional dry, crunchy toppings like sprinkles. Of course, if you're just here for the soft serve, then just get the cup but if you want it all without the mess that comes with cones, ask for the upside down cone served in a cup - you get to have your cake (errr...soft serve) and eat it too! This time around, sweet corn was the unique flavor of the day and the subtle sweetness was certainly interesting! Not a huge fan as I'm more inclined to order their tea flavors but it was still delicious enough to be consumed all by oneself. In addition to the soft serve, they also have taiyaki (waffle battered cakes) filled with your goodies of choice among some classics like red bean, Nutella, chocolate, and custard. They take a while to make but you may order more for a slight discount as opposed to ordering them individually. The staff were friendly and patient as we ran through the options when we ordered and were quick as they can to fulfill the tickets. Overall, Somisomi has the perfect combination of desserts to satisfy cravings for both hot and cold treats. They're not too overly sweet and are pretty light so it's a great spot to hit up after a meal. This shopping center facilitates those activities nicely with restaurants running all along the perimeter and a huge grocery store for wrapping up those errands. As a taiyaki fan, this Somisomi is solid and the quality store to store doesn't vary too much so regardless of the location, you'll be satisfied here, there, and everywhere, so long as it's with Somisomi!

De. Licious. The soft serve is sweet and creamy, the taiyaki is warm and fresh... what else could you ask for? Somisomi is the ultimate treat for a summer day, and this location does not disappoint! We went in at around 7:30 on a weekday and there was no one else there. The interior is sparkling clean, and the service is very helpful and friendly! I ordered the upside down ahboong with cookies and cream soft serve, Nutella filling, a macaron, and Oreo crumbles - and yes, it was as heavenly as it sounds. There's nothing I would have changed about it. The price is fair, the portion size is solid, and service is quick. The one downside is that there's not any seating inside, so this is clearly a grab-and-go dessert place. Luckily there's plenty of seating in the plaza outside, so that wasn't much of an issue for us. If you have a sweet tooth and are in the area, this Somisomi is a delicious option!

What can I say about SomiSomi? They never miss. Every location I've visited has been consistently delicious, and this one is no exception. Ordering is quick and easy with the self-service kiosks, and the employees are always friendly and happy to help if you need anything. The inside is pretty simple, but honestly, that's part of the charm. Grab your frozen yogurt, head outside, and enjoy a little people-watching while you dig in. It's the perfect excuse to slow down for a few minutes. As for the frozen yogurt? Always creamy, always delicious, and I've never walked away disappointed. If you're craving something sweet, SomiSomi is one of those places that's hard to go wrong with. I would happily recommend it every time! read more

9.9/10 Ordered the Ube Pistachio Soft Serve with Taiyaki, a must get! The combination of ube and pistachio was surprisingly amazing. Both flavors complemented each other really well and weren't overly sweet, which I genuinely appreciated (especially as someone with a sweet tooth). The balance of flavors made it easy to enjoy without feeling too heavy. The taiyaki was definitely a must. It had a great texture, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and paired perfectly with the soft serve. My only small wish was that it came out a little warmer to add even more contrast with the cold ice cream. Overall, an amazing dessert that I would definitely get again! Service was fast and friendly. The shop has a small, cozy atmosphere, but there is no indoor seating, so it's more of a grab-and-go spot. read more

Tried out Somi Somi on a Tuesday night and it was crowded for a weekday. We got the milk and Ube softserve with custard filling in the Ahboong. The Ube flavor blended quite well with the Milk and the texture was creamy. I couldn't taste the custard filling in the Ahboong though. Their service is good but the servers are quite overwhelmed with the volume of orders maybe. I asked for the cocoa pebbles as the topping but the server gave me the graham cracker topping by mistake. He was kind and sweet to change it but it might have led to wasting a whole ice cream. I also asked for the Ahboong with soft serve inside but I got the upside down Agboong. I didn't want to bring that up to the server because I didn't want to waste another ice cream and overwhelm them anymore. Would definitely come back for the other flavors. read more

Taiyaki is what I order here. They have ice cream flavors here. Favorites are Black Sesame and Red Bean filling for the Taiyaki. Bench sitting area outside. Outside has benches on both side of entrance. This location gets pretty busy. Service is ok. Order on front and has toppings for ice cream. Can mix Taiyaki with ice cream. It was a super hot day out 87 degrees and while searching up ice cream so we can cool down, this popped up on my yelp! Of course I looked the pics and read the reviews and decided to come try it out and I'm glad I did. The kids ordered: Upside Down Ahboong: $6.95 Tayaki filled with your choice of: Black Sesame, Matcha Custard, Nutella, Custard, or Red Bean With Soft Serve flavors: Milk, Matcha, Ube, Peach, Cookies n' Cream, and dalgona Or their week special which is on rotation of swirls, and this week was Matcha and Peach, Cookies 'n cream & dalgona, and Milk and Ube You can also order: Ahboong: $6.95 Soft serve in a cup: $4.50 Cold Brew float: $5.95 My kids got the Cookies n' cream dalgona with Nutella tayaki. And on top of that they can add any of these toppings: Oreo Crumbs, graham crackers, biscoff crumble, fruity pebbles, cocoa pebbles, coconut flakes, captain crunch, rainbow sprinkles, or matcha powder and then ALSO select a strawberry or macaron to on with it! Whaaaa? The tayaki was super fresh as they made each to order, and the fish was slightly crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. I opted for the matcha filled tayaki and Oreo filled one for my son which he gobbled up right away. It was two for $4.95! What a deal! The worker was really nice and re-made me mine as the matcha kinda seeped out, so I got an extra tayaki to go. Yay! There's a station for small water cups and dispenser too. In case it gets too sweet and you need to wash all the sugar down. The service was excellent, and they did an amazing job making them look so cute and delicious! The only thing that does suck is there's no tables indoors so you'll have to stand or there's 2 benches outside you can sit. But since it was so hot out, our soft serve was becoming a milk shake so we just had to eat it that much faster! Can't wait to come back and try any new flavors they have. read more

Somi Somi serves up Korean-inspired soft serve with serious flavor flex. Their signature fish-shaped cone, the Ah-Boong, is next-level warm, fluffy, and ready to get filled with Nutella. (along with other fillings to choose from) Flavors? Your choice of Matcha, black sesame, ube, and swirled combos like Dalgona or Korean sweet corn (don't sleep on it). I'm old school, so I ride with good ol' chocolate or Cookies & Crème. Top it off how you like... Biscoff, Oreos, Fruity Pebbles, go wild. Somi Somi doesn't miss. Fast and friendly service, my only gripe is there's no tables or stools to set but there are benches outside. Their Dessert game is definitely strong! read more
So good - matcha and dulce de leche in a cup! Toppings are included in the price. You also get to choose macaron or strawberry. For the taiyakis, we got a black sesame and a red bean. 5 stars, yes fantastic, I will get to that! Wow this was a crazy parking lot! It is a big shopping center with a lot of parking, but clearly not enough, it took me 10 minutes trying to find a spot! My only critique, this should be the kind of place that they ask if you have ever been there, because it is a bit confusing! Ice cream, in the fish waffle, fish waffle on the ice cream, with filling, with out and free toppings, I finally asked and then it all made since! The location is a bit sterile with not much seating, but I get the feeling that place gets packed! The ice cream is great, the texture is amazing. My son got peach ice cream with the fish filled with custard! He loved it, but it was so rich that he couldn't finish it. We will be back when we are in the area! read more

The tasty waffle fish Ah-boong is made in-house, which is something I'd choose if this is your first time. Love it as a franchise! Ice cream is so yummy and smooth and the fish snack is also good. Clean interior but no seating. However, we had a terrible experience with the service. Dropped our spoons on accident and they refused to give us replacement spoons. Very bizarre. Because of this, we couldn't finish our ice cream until it was basically all melted. Really upsetting and weird. Personally, I'd rather drive to the San Jose location if craving this. read more
This seemed like a newer storefront. I have been craving Taiyaki ever since my trip to Korea and was hesitant to try this, incase it did not hit the same or taste as fresh. But this HIT THE SPOT. It tastes so authentic and the flavors of custard and black sesame were so so good. Will be coming back to try the soft serves soon! The store is very clean and there is no seating in the store, but there are some chairs outside. The taiyaki itself took about 2-3 min to come out! read more

The desserts were delicious. My mom, my daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed them. The service was superb, Justin was quick, attentive, and friendly. We just got a couple of the regular taiyaki, so I'm giving this a four-star rating based on that. You order at the counter and wait while they make the little fish-shaped treats. You can watch them prep it--either filling them with sweet, creamy paste like ours, or adding ice cream and toppings. I've only tried taiyaki once before in Osaka, Japan, and these were pretty close, though the batter and cooking heat were a little different. Both flavors we got were good, no complaints there. The waffle part could've been crispier, though--it was kind of soft. Not doughy, just not crunchy enough. It takes a few minutes since they make everything fresh after you order, which is nice. There's no seating inside, but they've got a bench or two outside. I suggest a couple tables or a bar along the wall would be good. I noticed some people got the fish cones on top of ice cream, and that looked awesome. I'll probably try that next time. read more

I'm really glad there is a Somi Somi close to me when I use to travel all the way to Valley Fair to get it. [[ Location ]] It's in the Milpitas Square Plaza with a lot of other good food places in the area. There's also Claw MEEE next door in case you want to extend your outing and have more fun. Parking should be plentiful since the plaza is so big but you may have to walk further if it's busy. [[ Store ]] It's a big store but there is no seating inside. They have two benches outdoors in the walkway area which I guess is okay but it can get crowded and cramped. I would highly prefer if they put some chairs/tables inside as well. (Minus 1 star) [[ Service ]] Friendly staff and good service. I REALLY appreciate that the standard tipping range at the machine is reasonable starting at 8%, 10%, and 12%. I guess it can go lower than that but I appreciate it doesn't start at 15%, 20%, and 25%. I'm more inclined to tip this way. [[ Wrap up ]] Other than that, the soft serve is amazing with good flavor, not too strong in sweetness, and a thick texture. I always get it with an upside Ah-Boong with red-bean filling which is my go-to. Can't wait to go back! read more
Had a good time here! They gave a generous portion of ice cream with good amount of matcha powder and coconut flakes. The strawberry was a bit tart but it tasted great with the ice cream. Location is nice but parking is crazy at times. read more
This is a good dessert spot in a busy shopping center. Parking can be a little difficult since it shares a large parking lot. But the store is cool and spacious. The dessert is also cool and holds up well if you want to take it to go. The price is fair since the portions are large. read more
