I came back to get some Somi Somi. Got the matcha ice cream one. It was good. Service was fine and ambiance was fine too.

Somisomi is hands down my fav soft serve! Everytime I'm in sj it's a must have. I love the takoyaki it's so warm and fresh. Having the extra decadence of the filling is so perfect. Legit the best idea ever.

It's been years since we have been to this location, but still wanted to review as we liked Somi Somi, even though it's gotten sweeter over time. Their crispy tayaki is delicious even though the flavors of some swirls is a miss.

I'm kinda disappointed that the outside of the tayaki was soft and not more crispy. Service was fine, and the store wasn't busy yet customers coming and going. [[HIGHLIGHT]]No seats just a standing bar to eat and leave.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside was clean and straightforward with a slight art on the wall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You can place your order on a iPad and wait to be called. Simple, easy and uncomplicated.

Somi Somi's soft serve islight, creamy, and not overly sweet. I love that they always have their classic flavors and fun seasonal swirl options, so there's always something new to try. This location is nice b[[HIGHLIGHT]]ecause parking is easy in the shopping plaza and there's a nice little indoor standing area if you want to enjoy your dessert without rushing back to the car. Service was smooth an[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]d efficient. You order at a kiosk, they call out your name in just a couple of minutes, and then they offer you toppings. I went with the matcha + black sesame swirl topped with Cocoa Pebbles--my two favorite flavors together in one cup. So good!!

Was really craving soft serve and saw the new banana pudding flavor that I wanted to try. Banana Pudding Strawberry Swirl (3/3): This was honestly a huge disappointment to me. I couldn't even tell the color of the swirls and the banana tasted like a mushy banana

Always LOVE coming here for a sweet treat. The taiyaki are all made fresh, and the combination of hot with the cold from the ice cream is to die for. My family and I come here often if we're craving a sweet treat and they don't disappoint. I love that you can mix and match flavors inside and get different types of ice cream. Service is fairly quick, but be prepared for a wait if there's a lot of people since everything is made to order. Sometimes there's only one or two employees making it so definitely be patient! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop is a cute little fun store that gives off great vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I've given SomiSomi a few tries and tbh, I find it quite overhyped. Granted, I seem to be the only one who feels this way. Staff here is very focused on their job leaving the interaction & customer service to be lacking. I couldn't care less but my toddler's attempt at connecting with employees ends up one sided. The soft serve is good- nothing overly sweet. The fish cone is great for photos but nothing I'd openly crave. The taiyakis have a good slight chew to it and there a a number of fillings available. You can easily find a favorite or two for everyone in your party. 3 stars.

overall, somisomi is pretty solid ice cream place for subtle asian flavors. the ice cream is always super creamy and rich. there are some flavors that i definitely would not recommend by guava since it has a strange aftertaste. recently had their strawberry milk swirl and it was a bit too sweet for me. i'm a big fan of their custard ahboong and custard taiyaki. any variation of custard is pretty good at somi somi. came to try their dubai chocolate taiyaki and it did not rate high for me unfortunately. it was a 3/10 for me since there was barely any pistachio taste to it. i've also eaten a lot of dubai chocolate chewy cookies and prefer the texture of the katefi to be a bit harder but it was a bit mushier during the cooking process. the overall taiyaki tasted more like ferrero rocher than dubai chocolate.

SomiSomi is my favorite soft serve spot and one of my top dessert spots overall. While I do think this location is worse than others I've been to, it's still SomiSomi quality. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service is a bit slow and there's no seating like many other locations.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ample parking and tons to do nearby including shopping and eating before indulging in wonderful soft serve. Always snag an upside down Ah-Boong for the full experience. Better than a cone because of the softer texture, includes a filling, and doesn't spill because it's upside down. The amount of filling at this location seems to be very light though. Keep up with their flavors rotating on their social media (varies each week based on location) but banana milk, when available, is wonderful and nostalgic.

Somisomi is currently located in 5 states. Order with the staff or kiosk. If you order soft serve, you'll choose your toppings when it's ready. I personally enjoy putting fruity pebbles on my soft serve. It's nice that they offer soft serve, ahboongs, and drinks. I like Somisomi because it's pretty consistent across all their locations. I enjoy trying their seasonal/rotating flavors, it makes each visit fun.

Upside down Nutella filled Taiyaki with Cookie Butter soft serve topped with Biscoff Crumbs and a Macaroon

LOVE THIS PLACE. I've been here several times over the past few years and it is great . Quality has never went down. I'm a big chocolate decadent fan, so I typically get the cookies and creme soft serve and it is fantastic. I found the cookie butter flavor a little too milky but I would eat it again. I love the taiyaki. It's always fresh and warm and perfectly chewy and crunchy. I always get the Nutella filling so I can't really speak on the other fillings, but I think it has just the right amount of filling inside. Toppings are yum and they never have too little. Ive had the Biscoff and Oreo ones and they are a nice addition. LOVE LOVE the macaroon it's always so chewy and yum. The service is pretty fast when there's only a few people. Sometimes when I go when it's slow my food is almost done instantaneously while still being fresh. When I go when it's busy it takes quite a while.

Amazing dessert place with great ice cream combinations and really good topping options. The taiyaki is delicious, and I love that you can choose from so many different fillings. They even give you a free macaron! Overall, this place is amazing, and I'll definitely be coming back in the future.

What I had: - Lychee Matcha (double matcha, regular sweet, regular ice) - Yuzu Matcha (double matcha, regular sweet, regular ice). Double matcha was not overly strong or caffeinating to me (love that they do not charge extra for this option btw)- my caff tolerance I'd say is relatively high or above average for sure. Surprisingly, at that matcha level the taste is not overly bitter at all. And the regular sweet is perfect (I normally get 50% sweet at boba shops). Same with the ice level, I think their regular ice level is fine (I normally get less ice at boba shops). The Lychee matcha has great lychee taste, not artificial tasting, it's a great blend of both lychee + matcha. The Yuzu is leaning towards the 'lemonade' profile without being overly citrusy. More refreshing than the lychee matcha, but both are refreshing anyways due to the nature of their flavors! I think I prefer the lychee matcha normally, honestly hard to say which flavor is better! I thoroughly enjoyed both these drinks! Their flavors are blended well with the matcha- not overly sweet in flavor, and matcha is great quality while not overly powerful or bitter. Drinks are of course mixed well and composed nearly perfectly. ---How I Rate on Yelp:--- (5 stars): Exceptional!! -- food, service, and atmosphere all outstanding. Worth going out of your way. (4 stars): Great! -- very good experience overall, minor flaws but nothing major. (3 stars): Good -- decent, acceptable, but there's room for clear improvement. (2 stars): Poor -- disappointing experience, multiple issues (food, service, or setting). (1 star): Terrible -- very bad experience, would not return or recommend.

You could buy tins of Marukyu Koyamaen matcha if you want to make lattes at home! Came here twice with my boo because their drinks slap! The Hojicha latte is not too sweet and very roasted, nutty, and smooth. The matcha crème brûlée swirl drank seemed to be their popular drink because a lot of those were being whipped up when we were waiting for our order. It looks aesthetically pleasing, but damn she thicck. It's like a milkshake and you need a big boba straw to get the liquid through. It was good but my boo said it was sorta a challenge to drink. A spoon is needed to thoroughly mix things together. The 2nd time around we ordered the matcha latte and the Hojicha cheese mousse. The Hojicha was a little stronger in flavor since there was no milk added to it. The cheese mousse was thick. I started drinking it through the sip top but eventually went in with a straw to mix it up. The hint of saltiness from the foam paired pretty well with the tea. My guy got the matcha latte with oat milk and the oat flavor is pretty overpowering. You'd taste the oat and then the matcha. It was okay but my boo finished it with no complaints. The shop is small but there's a long bench and a few tables to sip and chill. You mainly order from the kiosk, but when a long line forms, a human assists with ordering. The drink competition is strong in the plaza that they're in. There's at least 3 other boba shops in the same strip they're in and 2 more across the way. But Izumi stayed pretty busy the times we were there. Parking is kinda limited though because they're in a busy plaza. The last time we came we parked across at Target nearby and walked over. Overall, great Hojicha and matcha. The prices are decent for the area. They'll charge you if you want a cup of ice btw. Service is quick. I'd definitely come here again or to any of their other locations. When it comes to matcha they know what's up!

There wasn't an option to modify the sweetness, which I was concerned about at first. The mango desserts were easily the best part of my visit. I tried the Pomelo & Mango with Sago, which combined sweet mango, creamy coconut milk, chewy sago, and fresh pomelo for a refreshing balance of flavors and textures. I also enjoyed the Mango Chewy Ball, where the fresh mango and smooth mango juice paired perfectly with the soft, chewy rice balls. Both desserts felt light while still being satisfying, making them a great option on a warm day. I also had the chance to try a few of the other menu items. The mango mochi was fresh and soft, with ripe mango wrapped inside a delicate chewy layer. For something different, the spicy chili fish balls offered a savory contrast to the fruit desserts, adding a bit of heat and a springy texture that balanced out all of the sweetness. The ordering process was quick and straightforward, and my food arrived not long after I found a table.
