TIME: Came here around 3:00 pm on a Sunday (Father's Day) was fairly busy but it wasn't overflowing as I thought. PARKING: Lots of parking inside a plaza, but could be very hard to find a space if it is super busy. PLACE: Spacious & lots of tables and chairs to sit at, you place your order on a kiosk or you can order through the cashier. You pick up at the counter, and they send a text when it's ready but if it's busy they just call your name instead. DRINKS: Lychee - wasn't super sweet since I chose 50% but great lychee taste and there's lychee inside of the drink! Kumquat - My mouth got numb after lol but it was super good, reminds me so much of calamansi. Decent place to get some coffee or drinks!
I've been wanting to try their coffee for the longest, and I'm glad that I got to finally it during their opening hours on a random Thursday that I was able to go. (On a funny note: I did not know that they were going to open another location in Fremont, so I'm definitely attending their grand opening when they DO open in Fremont. Fingers crossed that I will be able to attend their grand opening. While I like the cherry blossom concept behind it, it left me rather disappointed when it came to the service and making of the drinks. While the coffee shop felt spacious and more than enough space to accommodate everybody, it just felt rushed throughout the whole time I was there. Their drinks were another dimension. I got their EGGspresso Hanoi, which surprisingly, was not bad at all. I loved how consistent the egg batter was, and the consistency of the coffee was quite equal. I will be back to try their other drinks, and hoping that their customer service could improve just a little bit more. I know they have the potential, but being more courteous goes a very long way compared to being bland in attitude, obviously.
My favorite spot for Vietnamese coffee, and they have some really good matcha drinks too. On the weekends it's usually packed, but I stopped by today and there wasn't even a line. Ordering is super easy through the kiosk, then you just wait for your drink. They also recently expanded the space, so there are a lot more tables available now, which makes it much easier to hang out. Definitely one of my go-to coffee spots in San Jose!
This place upgraded their space and now there's plenty of seating with large tables to accommodate studying if needed. Ordered via the kiosk and my order was done in about a minute. Very happy with the quick service and cleanliness of the place, I will absolutely be back. Signature Coffee: delicious and was perfectly spot-on with the sweetness I selected. Cream was light and airy which was a nice touch with the coffee. 10/10
Came with no expectations, because Vietnamese coffee is not particularly my go-to coffee drink, but wow ! their Signature Saigon (house blend coffee with cloud cream) caught me off guard with how good the coffee was - not bitter, not acidic, and had roasty notes of hazelnut. The subtly-salty cloud cream topping was delicious as well, and complemented the coffee. I selected 25% sweet & less ice, which was perfect. Also got the Coco-Bo (coconut milk avocado smoothie-slushie) - 0% sweet, but not sure how they adjust this ~ it was still sweet, as both the coconut part & avocado part were separately sweet, but still enjoyable & refreshing. One small caveat is that the avocado part is a paste so even though it's most likely house made, to me the texture is a little processed (as opposed to chunky blended avocado). I am dreaming about when I can return to get their Signature Saigon again & try their other coffee drinks.
I've been craving some Vietnamese coffee and I've been wanting to try this spot for a while so here I am. I ordered their Eggspresso Hanoi. It was nice and creamy and the slight salt like taste balanced out their coffee well. I also liked the foam and I'm not even a foam person lol. Ordering here is pretty easy. They have an iPad you can order from, or you can just order from them up front. This spot looks like a great place to study. They have e a lot of tables available. The parking lot is a decent size. It can probably get lowkey busy depending on what time you come. Definitely will be back to try more drinks. Try it out if you like. :)
This is my second time getting Lacaphe. First time was in-store and it was solid, good flavor, full portions. With how much a drink costs, I would think that I'm getting a full cup. DoorDashed an order for my coworkers and I. Their drinks were full, but mine wasn't. Safety tape was still on. I got the Coconut. Flavor is good, but the portion is not. Suppose to also come with grass jelly. I thought, maybe they forgot the jelly. Nope. I dug around for it and they didn't forget, it was just an extremely small amount. Less ice meant remove ice and leave cup empty I guess. How much does another 4oz of coffee and milk cost? Cents. Alternative would've been to fill the space with more grass jelly. Also cheap to do. What. A. Disappointment. If you're thinking about trying this place out, purchase in-store for when they're being stingy, you can get it fixed.
It's been a while since we have been here so it was good to come back and try it. We noticed since the last time we came, they opened the seating area. To me, the seating area is nice and cozy with its dark walnut wood and green furniture. The soft lighting with the bulbs was much appreciated as well. The place was quite clean and you could really tell because the rest of the furniture is white/off white. Additionally, as soon as you come in, there's a nice smell of freshly brewed tea. I think this might be an okay place to get some studying/work done with multiple outlets if can get past what follows. My wife thought the decor was a bit too sterile. The music inside was also quite loud. No access to a bathroom as it says employees only. As for the service, non-existent other than making your drink and calling it out. You order on the iPad and there is no greeting or interaction. Some may like that, some won't. I was disappointed to see our drinks come in these plastic lined paper cups as it's very satisfying to see the layers of the coffee or tea and foam. We also both asked for less ice but I think that's just ignored. I understand that it means "less" volume of drink but I'm fine with a more empty cup rather than more ice. Overall, I think that's Lacaphe's drinks are fine but not top tier. The coffee is espresso shots but I think was a bit sour/ under extracted for me. The cream is good but not as thick as I think it could be. Overall, 4* for the decent Vietnamese coffee and the moderately cozy, but very clean place.
Lacàphê was a really good experience. My friends and I ordered around seven drinks, and most of them were actually very good. The tea flavor was fragrant and clear, and the coffee was honestly better than many other places I've tried. I also thought their foam was pretty good. The shop does have seating, but when we went it was overcrowded, so there weren't any seats available. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the drinks came out faster than expected compared to how long the line looked. Overall, it's definitely worth trying.
Vietnamese coffee is bomb! Rich, strong, and exactly what I needed. I did have a small mix-up with my order (I asked for hot coffee but got iced), but the customer service was great--she fixed it right away with no hesitation and made it super easy. The ambiance is really nice too--I love the cream and white color combo. It feels clean, modern, and inviting. There's plenty of seating, and it was pretty busy when I went, which is always a good sign. They also offer both in-person ordering and a stand-alone ordering screen, which makes things super convenient. Definitely appreciate how quickly they made it right. I'll be back!
I got the Lotus with Oolong Boba and 75% sweetness. It was so creamy and unique! The drink tasted nutty and had a slight roasted flavor. It was my first time trying Oolong Boba. You can definitely taste the Oolong flavor. The boba was soft, sweet, and chewy. The interior had traditional Vietnamese decor but was still modern. There was lots of seating. The atmosphere felt cozy. You can order at the kiosk or with the cashier. The staff were so friendly and gave me some samples to try!
Love walking in here to viet music. Music to my ears and their signature is semi sweet crisp and not too strong. Perfect as it is. Service is fast. Via kiosk and drink is made to order. I've had the Hanoi espresso too. The aroma and flavor is consistent. Reminds me of waking up to the smell of Folgers but this ain't your parents coffee back in the 80's. Ha ha ha Will be back to try something new. The name of this store is so catchy, every time I sound out Lacaphe, it sounds sexy with a modern twist.
6/20/2026 Lacaphe was our last stop of the day, and I'm so glad we ended here! The place was packed, but the line moved quickly. We ordered the Saigon Freeze, Muoi, and COCO Freeze. My Saigon Freeze was hands‑down the best--like a super tasty Frappuccino. My sisters got the Muoi, which was really good but a little strong, and my sister's boyfriend got the COCO Freeze, which wasn't my favorite only because I'm not a coconut person. There were plenty of places to sit, and the vibe was super chill with a mix of families and people just hanging out. Everyone kept talking about how good my drink was--it really was that good! If I'm ever in San Jose again, I'm 100% coming back just for that Saigon Freeze. read more
This coffee has a perfect combination of egg form and Vietnamese coffee. I got it at a 75% sweet, it might be a bit sweet for most of people since i really like sweet. I would love to try other drinks on the menu next time! Its a bit pricey though. Its $7.50 for this small size. The environment is clean and good for studying or working. read more
I recently went to Lacaphe and tried their matcha latte and ordered on their self-service kiosk. It was a good balance of earthy matcha and creamy milk. The matcha was okay, and the drink was refreshing and well-made. The cafe itself was crowded with people even during a weekday afternoon, and it had a cozy, inviting atmosphere that made it a nice place to enjoy my drink with friends. read more

Ordered pick up. Easy and quick. They expanded their sitting area. Good place to hang out and chat. Presentation on both drink outstanding. Banana matcha, love the banana flavor goes well with matcha. Coffee very flavorful and hits if you craving it. read more
My favorite cafe in Bay Area - Lacaphe served delicious Viet style coffee as well as matcha drinks and recently, they amazed me with their avocado drinks (honestly, all of their drinks serveeeee for sure) They have free wifi, password caphesuada, so very suitable if you want a place to work or study (but I would not recommend because they're packed all the time) read more

Great roomy Vietnamese Cafe. It was interesting to find that they offer Green Thai tea which is a treat from the typical Orange Thai tea people order. The place is huge and if you want to bring family or group of friends it can support it. I see some people study here too. Lots of plug for charging or wanting to plug your laptop. Ordering is iPad menu you can tap with apple wallet or credit card. There is online order you can try if you are in a rush. Parking could be an issue if it gets busy in the shopping area. Staff seems organize and there has a speaker when announcing orders seems pretty organized and clean. Ordered the Signature Saigon and Kumquat Chia. The Saigon is pretty strong coffee which what you expect from Vietnamese Cafe. Will drink the Kumquat later but the drink looks promising. read more

I'd had Lacàphê on my list of places to visit for genuinely 2yrs so when was finally in this part of SJ this weekend, I had to make a stop. * Location: In a tiny plaza off the very busy Story Rd strip going into little Saigon. The plaza lot is small & very packed, be prepared to wait for parking in small spots. * Ambiance: Cafe has seating options, no public restrooms, wifi for guests. Most seemed to order their drinks to-go. * Service: No cashiers, order at a single ipad-style kiosk, or on your phone by scanning a QR code. Waited about 10-12min for 2 drinks on a late Saturday morning. Staff wasn't especially warm or interested in the customers. *Drinks: Tried the Ube Coffee (25% sweetness) and Eggspresso Hanoi (50% sweetness) with easy ice, about $16 total. * Servings: Both drinks were served in white sleeved cups (no longer clear plastic to see neat layers), both filled over half-way with ice (this is 'easy ice'?), and both were sweeter than we expected. * Taste: The thick ube foam was especially flavorful, sweet, or tasty, neither was the egg cream (vaguely vanilla, not nice sitting on top of the coffee, nor mixed in). * Experience: We didn't enjoy the drinks enough to take more than a few sips & put them in the fridge. We tried again the next morning knowing they wouldn't be as fresh but tried to give it another go. I was surprised neither cream top had melted & how much both 'creams' looked like whipped artificially stable food products in an off-putting way. We each tried another sip but didn't like them at all & tossed them. TLDR: I love Vietnamese coffee but these drinks weren't drinkable and experience the as not pleasant. Would not revisit nor recommend. read more

We came by during a weekday lunch time so it wasn't too busy. The space is really pretty and clean! Plenty of space to chat, work, etc. The decor here was really nice and comforting. We ordered the egg coffee and avocado milk tea to try. The egg coffee was pretty good! The egg cream top was actually really nice, a little bit more on the lighter side, but this was pretty delicious with the vietnamese coffee. The avocado milk tea, well it tasted more like a milk tea. You don't really taste the avocado in it. This drink was disappointing so its safe to stick with the coffee drinks here. Otherwise, service was nice and friendly here. Drinks were made quickly. This was my first trying this place after their rebranding. They didn't have dairy-alternatives last time, so it was not good for someone like me. This place serves Vietnamese coffee specialty drinks, along with other drinks. Pistachio matcha (4/5): The pistachio was very subtle and the match was normal. Nothing too special. coffee is amazing but have you tried the blended kumquat salted plum? This is actually my favorite drink from lacaphe! It's the perfect blend of refreshing, sweet and citrus! They add bits of salted plum and it's so yummy For coffee, I love the Hanoi coffee, which has strong viet coffee with the sea salt foam. If you want some egg coffee, they have that too. They are always releasing some seasonal drinks as well, and lots of people come here to work as they just recently remodeled into a bigger space! Parking can be a pain in the arse sometimes but whenever I'm in the area I come here to get some delicious drinks Tip: order online to avoid lines! read more

I didn't expect how busy it would be in here! We went on a Sunday afternoon, and it was definitely THE place to be! Families, friends, students all gathered here to enjoy the atmosphere. On a Sunday, there was a longer wait to order. They didn't take face to face orders, and relied on self service pos. It took some people in front of us over 10+ minutes to order on the SINGLE pos. The wait after ordering was relatively long as well, where we had to wait another 10 minutes. We ordered an eggspesso hanoi and signature saigon. The sweetness is subtle but the phin coffee wasn't too bitter. Would be 5 stars if they added another pos system, or prioritized face to face ordering. read more

Tried the Signature Saigon and Eggspresso Hanoi this morning and both are solid options. Personally I liked the Signature Saigon more. Bold coffee flavor, but not too strong. Drinks are the perfect level of sweetness; not overly sweet but just enough to complement the coffee. read more

I tried this place because it was right next to a Vietnamese restaurant I like. Seems like they've rebranded since the last time I was here -- I think I actually preferred it before. I got the egg coffee, which was good at first, but over time the taste became a bit too strong for me. Service was okay; English was a little limited, but it wasn't a problem. Nothing too special about the service. The interior, however, was lovely. I really appreciated the modern aesthetic -- it gave the place a nice vibe. Overall, decent, but not quite as memorable as before. read more

One of my favorite spots! Been here a handful of times and the drinks don't disappoint. The Vietnamese coffee here is deliciously strong and bold. There's still a lot on the menu that I haven't tried but I gravitate towards the lotus milk tea and coconut coffee w/ grass jelly drinks the most. If you like a coconut-forward flavor, then the coco mango drink is great (could use more mango for me). So far, no milk alternatives unfortunately but they offer teas. They've expanded their store so there's plenty of seating and WiFi as well. Service is quick and pickup has always been smooth for me. read more
I love Vietnamese coffee, so this is right up my alley. And it does not disappoint! It was busy on a Saturday, but the vibes were still there - the space is nice and cozy, and even had some lunar new year decorations up already. If it was less busy, I would love to come here and spend some time chilling at a table with friends. Even though it was late in the day, I still ordered a coffee. I got their standard option, but I saw they had lots of interesting choices on their menu - I would come back and try some more. The coffee was honestly perfect - no notes, nothing I would change. I love my Viet coffee strong and this delivered. Though it did keep me up at night lol. Overall, I would recommend this place if you love Viet coffee! read more

Long overdue review! We love coming to LaCaPhe when we're in the SJ area! This has been our to-go spot for Vietnamese coffee! My favorite is the Eggspresso Hanoi and Salted Coffee (muoi). They have a variety of unique coffee flavors and even offer matcha, fresh tea, and milk teas. I haven't tried anything else besides the coffee, but they all sound so good! I'd probably have to order another drink to try in addition to my coffee order lol. They just remodeled the shop; so it's more spacious and there are more tables to sit at. We often order online because they seem to always be busy whenever we stop by. read more
Was expecting a small coffee/matcha place and was pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was. Lots of lots of tables to sit at and enjoy your drink. My expections were increased as the place was pretty packed and every table was full. Ordered the strawberry matcha with 50% sweetness and my expections were met. 0 grain to the taste whatsoever and the drink was gone in about 5 minutes. Will be trying other drinks next visit, but do recommend the strawberry matcha! read more

I saw the high praise on Yelp for Lacaphe and happened to be in the neighborhood so I thought I'd go in here for a coffee. I think my mistake was that the USP of this place is likely for their ice brews and innovative Vietnamese flavors but I was looking for a good old hot coffee with some milk - like a cappuccino. There was no 'just hot coffee' version but you can have some or most of their coffees hot. I chose the Muoi version and boy was it terrible. Salt in my hot coffee - the first sip was surprising and innovative but I couldn't get it down after the next 2 sips. I am sure I'd have liked the same in the iced version. Wish they'd give customers an option or recommendation for coffee that'd be good in the hot version from their long list. The ambience was cosy and hip. The service was slow - I waited for a long time and had to go ask for my coffee and then the server handed it to me saying it's ready. So overall, no not my cup of tea, rather cup of coffee. read more

Lacaphe is right in the heart of Little Saigon and I am loving their new remodel. It's cozy, modern, relaxing, and gives me those Vietnamese cafe vibes that you would find in Vietnam. I've been here twice now and I had to order the coconut avocado drink because it's so good. It's like a smoothie meets a slushie. It's tropical and so refreshing. I haven't tried anything else yet but that drink is so good and I hope they put it permanently on the menu. I know it's a seasonal drink for now but I'm hoping they see my review and put it on the menu permanently. I love how the cafe is nicely decorated for Christmas with a nice Christmas tree, figurines, and other Christmas decor. Ordering is easy as you can order on the kiosk or at the cashier. read more

How do you use the reward system to claim a free drink?
There's a tablet when you order to sign up via square. Each drink is one point and free item after 10
Are all egg and cloud creams made with whole milk? Can they be made nondairy?
I think they are all premade so I don't think it's possible
Does Lacaphe offer non-caffeinated options?
The menu has a small triangle for non caffeinated options (theres one item). You may be able to ask if they can do non caffeinated substitutes but I think everything is premade so might not be available
