Uju is a family-run boba shop located inside of Vietnam Town that specializes in topping drinks. I was a little alarmed when I first learned that the T4 that this place used to be got replaced, but the fun, modern ambiance drew me in. There was a tablet that looked like it could've been a kiosk that wasn't working, but the bobarista that was taking my order was very friendly and provided good recommendations for what to get. There is also working wifi, which means that you can study or do work here with minimal problems. I decided to get the Matcha Oat Latte with no toppings, which thinking now might've not been the most ideal choice considering what UJU is known for (in my defense I was trying to save money). I also forgot to stir the drink properly when I got it which resulted in me tasting the two parts separately. The oat milk that was used had a sweet, pleasant taste to it (normally not an oat milk drinker so this was a nice experience) while the matcha had a grassy taste to it. Overall, an alright experience. I had a nice time, though I'm unsure if I got the proper UJU experience as a result of the drink that I chose. I might come back again to see what they actually have to offer.
The banana milk and poke-bake were much more filling that I thought they'd be. The masago poke bake was good but I don't think I'd get it again. It was beautifully put together and tasted good but it doesn't come with that much rice and the cucumber took away from the savoriness. I recommend asking for no cucumber. The banana milk with all the toppings was good. The staff member with the short dyed hair was super helpful! He explained how to eat / drink the drink since it was my first time. He said to take sips and eat some jelly as I go. There is seating inside, perfect for catching up with friends
I tried their Banana Cheese Coffee, without the cheese. It's hella good! The folks here are hella nice too. Right when you walk in, they ask you if you've ever tried their products, and if you haven't they proceed to help you find the drink that best suits your taste buds and cravings. The place is also very ADA compliant and friendly. This is important for me, because my beautiful wife is ADA. Thank you UJU for the great hospitality and experience! I'll definitely be back, to try your other coffee suggestions, but I'm excited to drink the banana coffee again! 20/10 overall for this visit!
Such a cute and cool place, so many options to choose from and how to customize your order I didn't know what to order. I went with the most popular option the Jasmin milk tea with all the toppings, It was super good if you're into floral drinks. The toppings are cute to look at and all so tasty as well. Definitely will be back for some snack treats as well.
Visited last year, just a bit after they opened. Was hunting down boba around but gave in to trying new things here. Dessert here is similar to che but different in a way. Service was great, super friendly. Major complaint is that they give tons of ice and didn't offer reductions at the time, not sure about now. Price is also pretty steep all things considered. They do a good job at honoring sugar adjustments, so the lower levels don't taste terrible. Milk tea was also surprisingly decent for a spot that doesn't specialize in boba. If you're picking toppings, I would skip the jellies and just get the flans. While the jelly is super basic and offered at most Asian dessert spots, the flan was super soft and creamy, packed with flavor, and cheesy. Premium desserts were the items like the cheese flan while regular toppings were everything else.
We got the rose tteokbokki and the coffee flan, which both tasted great. The rose tteokbokki has rice cake, fish cake, sausage, cabbage. The coffee flan has coffee jelly and their signature cheese slice. I was there around noon time and they didn't have any sushi to order. The service was okay. The place is cute.
Cute little boba shop with exciting toppings to choose from! Since it was our first time there the guy working helped us and really surprised us with the topping choices. My siblings really enjoyed coming here and we will come back.
The boys that work here are very friendly and cordial. Excellent service from this tea shop. I personally love the vibes and the decor here. Their egg cream is really tasty. I did not expect it to go well with the Vietnamese Coffee. The toppings that they offer here are quite nice. Matcha Flan, Ube Flan and other flan toppings are amazing.
I like that this boba place copied the concept from socal (the many types of toppings / cheese jello) but I think their drinks are pretty expensive for what it is. The milk tea with 8 toppings was $9 & the cheese jello was also $3 which is quite pricy for just the jello. I recommend this place just to try if you haven't experienced having milk tea with various jellos / puddings but it's honestly a bit pricey in my opinion.
Such a fun spot with so many different toppings to pick from! It's located in a plaza so there is a parking lot and the staff were friendly. There's a couple of tables indoors for seating. I ordered one of their best sellers, the green Thai milk tea. I typically don't like green Thai tea because it tastes a bit medicinal to me, but this spot made it well & I didn't get that flavor and really enjoyed this drink! It was loaded with different kinds of toppings like jellies, pudding, and boba. Solid spot to get your sweet fix.
Saw this on a social media video and had to check it out for myself. I was not disappointed. I like that you had options to choose which topping you wanted or just let the servers surprise you. I went with the surprise and everything was good. My husband liked them too but was only upset because he didn't know what the jellies were called so get them again. Guess I have to go back with him so he can pick his toppings.
Late review. It also took twenty to twenty-five minutes for two drinks (or a drink and che? can't remember what my friend got) even though it wasn't busy at the time. I've never been back since as there are other boba shops nearby that are much faster. I've also never gone to a boba shop where the worker recommends we zelle him. I can't remember what I put false advertising for though.

The jasmine milk tea with full toppings was okay. The jasmine flavor was subtle, and it tasted like I was drinking milk. If you're someone who likes a strong tea base, this might feel like a let down. What I did enjoy were the toppings. There's a variety to choose from, and I like how they have different shapes with a bouncy texture. The toppings are also cute, especially the paws. read more
Cute and casual spot with a wide variety of drinks and toppings. It seems to be a mix of Vietnamese and Korean inspired flavors/offerings. Mostly fruit teas and jellies. There's also a few snack/dessert items including shaved ice, rolls, and Korean hot dog (limited availability). I got an Ube Halo Halo shaved ice which was refreshing for the hot day but was lacking in flavor. The jellies are good, but I wish there was more of it. I tried some of my partner's milk tea drink as well. The items are really colorful and eye-catching, but the flavors are really light and could definitely use some improvement. Overall, Uju's is okay, and would be lower on the list amongst all the different boba/snack shops in the area. read more

This is my favorite boba spot in San Jose and basically the only reason I go to Vietnam Town. So many topping options it feels endless, plus it's the perfect place to hang out and study. read more

Hello Chescca,…
Definitely a Delightful Dessert Shop. Plenty of Delicious Toppings. A Great Hangout Spot with your friends and Family. They open til late Ten or Eleven pm. Nice outdoor and indoor seatings area. They always got lovely live music playing. Jasmine and Matcha Milk Tea Full toppings was strong and Refreshing!! Durian Che Thai Shaved Ice was good but I wanted it to be a bigger portion. Street Food of the day looks good that I will definitely like to try next time I'm back. They also offer other Snacks and Sushi Rolls here too. January10, 2024 read more

I've been going to UJU since they opened over a year ago and I think it's one of the more underrated boba shops! The drinks here are rich in tea flavor and frequently paired with their delicious in house toppings. Their jellies are soft and chewy and they are generous with their full topping drinks. The drinks here give me more of a dessert vibe which makes a memorable experience. Their matcha drinks are so good and strong with oat milk. It's on the earthy side. My favorite is the cheese matcha as a huge fan of their salty and creamy cheese foam. I tried the coconut matcha as well which was just okay. The coconut juice was refreshing but definitely overpowers the matcha foam at the top. The matcha taste became very subtle after I completely mixed my drink. I think the coconut matcha could be improved for a more prominent matcha taste. Really enjoy the white and blue interior with a space themed aesthetic going on! I'll come back for the cheese matcha :) read more

Tried the banana coffee with herbal jelly and it was sooo cute. The herbal jelly was shaped like giant boba and the coffee was the perfect balance of strong coffee flavor with a hint of banana milk The hazelnut americano is not on the best seller menu anymore but cashier said they can still make it anytime. I love finally founding a place in the Bay that serves Korean style sweet americanos. read more

The concept of this place is cool and very cute molds for their cheese slice, paw, etc. You would customize your own drink here. You get a form and an expo marker and would customize your drink by choosing: - The type of tea or coffee - Light or strong tea - Sweetness level - Ice level - Number of toppings and which toppings To make your choices a bit easier, they do have some stars next to some that are recommended. I decided to go with a jasmine milk tea, strong, 75% sweet, regular ice and I chose 2 toppings (cheese flan & strawberry milk pudding). I was a bit decieved from the pictures. I thought I was getting a cheese slice flan in my drink, but it was cut up. I do like that they have a lot of toppings, but I'm not really a toppings type of person when I order tea. So, it reminded me more of Che (Vietnamese dessert). I thought my toppings were pretty good, but maybe the sweetness from my toppings overpowered the drink? I didn't really taste a strong jasmine tea flavor. My drink was a bit too sweet for me. Overall, cool concept and if you are someone that likes a lot of toppings - this place is for you! read more

i love love love uju so much !!!! me and my bf would come here sometimes after school, we are highschool grads now and sad that we're leaving college so we're def going to miss this place :( whenever we're hungry uju def is one of our options bc the hot foods are so yummy!!! dry noodle has to be my fav. such a good introduction to the cultural dishes they serve :D their drinks are supa good as well. i typically always get the banana/ube milk option for the build your own drink and it satisfies me a lot !! their coconut water matcha is really good as well hehe the workers are so nice and we really appreciate Khoa, the owner, and his kindness!! the ambiance is very cozy and welcoming. i think the one thing i love abt this place too is that it's right next to tofu's trading!!! i've def ripped a lot of packs at uju, and got a lot of hits ~ maybe there's smth called uju luck o_o!! i would recommend this place to anyone passing by viet town :3 read more
This place seems to target the younger audience because they have a very fun concept for a dessert/boba drinks. You get an erasable menu to mark up as you build your own drink. There's so many topping options that it really gives you decision paralysis. We went with their preset drinks and thought they were okay. Asides from the drinks, they also have other dessert options like tiramisu, panna cotta, egg waffles and more! read more

This was my first time coming here , wanted to try this place out it looked cute from some of the photos I saw . Apparently they open now for summer at 12:30pm not 12pm okay so good thing I messaged them on Instagram. When they finally opened the server welcomed us and asked us what we like to order I was going to order food and drinks but the server told us that unfortunately his other worker hasn't arrived yet to make the food so that was also a bumper too , because was looking forward to try out their Musubi and sushi bake . So I only order two drinks , we were all hungry ! The drinks were okay the place is cute and the paw jello was cute and it taste fine . read more
* green thai w/ salted cheese & pandan jelly - it was very tea forward. It wasn't too sweet, it could be more sweet. Personally, it was a bit bitter. The cheese was average, not a wow factor for us. It didn't mix in well compared to other drink establishment. The jelly was impractical as it was too big to fit the straw and it was on top so we can't even suck it up with a straw * banana milk tea w/ ice cream & pandan jelly - it didn't have a strong banana flavor. It just tasted like standard milk tea with a hint of banana. The ice cream was just your ordinary crystal farm vanilla ice cream. I tried the pandan jelly but it didn't have a strong pandan taste. It was lacking in flavor * not picture (mystery paw) - it had a milky taste on the top and the bottom had a familiar taste to it. It rotates every day and even the cashier doesn't know what it is as it's a chefs secret. We will give this place one more chance in the far future. Overall it's alright it just needs some adjustments read more
A super fun twist to traditional boba! Visited UJU twice now and loved it on both occasions. The variety of topping reminds me of Vietnamese Che Thai but with milk tea/fruit tea as the drink itself. UJU offers premade drink options as well as a build your own drink option if you want to customize your drink but I personally like to build my own. There are so many toppings to choose from and it is a bit overwhelming but their staff is super helpful and gave me some great suggestions! I am a huge texture person so I love that there are so many fun combinations you can make with the jelly toppings! The tea also has great flavor and isn't too sweet, I really loved the lychee honey chia tea. The cheese flan and mystery paw was cute and yummy but I don't think I'd get it next time. UJU also makes for a great hangout spot with a very modern design and they also have some boardgames for customers to play with as well. Only reason why I've given it 4 stars is because of its price ($9 for full topping option) is a bit steep for boba, but it makes sense as they allow you to choose as many topping as you want! read more
I came on a saturday afternoon. I was able to easily find parking and it was super chill inside. There are menus at the counter to choose your boba and toppings. I was confused on how to order, but the staff was very helpful and friendly! There are a lot of toppings to choose from and tea flavors as well. They even have a caffeine free section! The interior was really cute and clean. They have a cute mirror for mirror selfies too. I got the brown sugar boba with 100% sweetness and full toppings. If you like your drinks sweet i'd even recommend 125% sweetness because 100% wasn't super sweet. They had a list of recommended toppings for the drink so I just went with those! All the toppings were great and had light sweetness that balanced well with the drink! read more
This place is located in the center of Vietnam town. It took over where t4 use to be. Parking is never a problem since you can park in their garage or in the back. This place is great if you want to build your own drinks. It kind of took the idea of milk teas and che and fused it together. You can order your typical toppings or go for the full topping which is included in che. OR you can build your own che as well. It is an unlimited combinations! How to order is, by the front counter, take a menu and an eraser marker and mark what you would like. From single toppings to full topping (8 toppings) I believe. Then when you are done, they ring you up and make your order. Pretty simple. I haven't been back lately but I hope they add matcha as a base one day. read more

A little hard to find since it's hidden near the corner. I love the alien decor. And love that they have games so you and your friends can play while enjoying your beverage. It's a little on the pricey side. I got the mango chai and was a little disappointed. A little sour for my taste. I would have loved to have tasted more mango. I like how they offered a variety of toppings (rare to find elsewhere) which was cool. The worker was super friendly and helpful. read more
Really good toppings and a strong tea flavor in the milk tea! Definitely wish I asked for less ice as there wasn't a ton of drink for the price. I originally was thrown off by the toppings because I thought it was just candy on top but they're not overly sweet. It'd be cool if they sold the toppings as a snack pack separately though too. Service is pretty good and there's a few tables inside to sit and chat. read more

I was very impressed by Uju after my visit tonight.I had finished dinner next door and saw the former T4 was replaced by Uju. It's very eye catching from the outside and impossible to miss their neon blue lights. I love desserts with jelly and fun textures so I was immediately drawn to try #1 - jasmine milk tea with their top 8 jellies. Two things that were very impressive: 1. I asked for 25% sweet but the lowest they could do is 50%. This made me nervous because I hate it when my drinks are too sweet. Fortunately 50% was great! It's not too sweet even with all of the jellies! I would even say 75% would be the perfect Asian definition of "not too sweet" 2. The service was stellar! I saw the menu to ask about the jelly of the day. I asked about it after I already ordered and the cashier was so kind to let me try the jelly of the day- Thai tea paw pudding. It's so cute and so delicious! The texture is amazing!! This was my favorite jelly out of all the ones I tried. I think I would skip the thin noodles. It's too thin and I like big jellies. FYI they don't have non-dairy milk options, but they do have a non-dairy creamer. I'll be back! Thank you to the two sweet cashiers. read more

This place definitely has potential. The theme is super cute (space themed), there's a nice aesthetic and atmosphere. Staff is very friendly, concept is cute and the variety of toppings they offer distinguish themselves from other tea shops in this plaza. Their toppings taste very good individually such as the jellies and puddings but the boba was a bit on the hard side. If they improve their tea drinks then they'd really stand out. I tried the full toppings Jasmine Milk Tea and it was way too bitter, meaning they steeped it for too long. Usually jasmine Tea should be floral. If they improve their tea, then they could really hit the nail for their grand opening. read more

Hi Tiffany! Thank you so much for the constructive feedback <3…
Came here after seeing it on insta! This place is located where T4 used to be! My friends and I ordered the Green Thai Tea with all toppings! This place is very instagramable, but the milk tea itself isn't that special. It just tasted like basic milk tea. The employees however were nice, since this was our first time they showed us the menu and how to customize our drinks. Honestly, I would give this place a 6/10 stars since it isn't anything special and I wouldn't visit again, however if you're looking for a spot for nice instagram boba i'd give thus a try since the interior is nice. read more

Instagrammable, Visually Appealing, Cute Concept but not worth the price. I kept seeing this place on Instagram and a few times on TikTok and what caught my eye was the Cheese-shaped flan. We decided to come by after dinner on a Saturday and there were a lot of people inside and outside so I instantly thought it was gonna be a hit. The interior is also very cute and there was plenty of seating inside. One thing that I was confused about was that the entire name is UJU Night Market, but there weren't any snacks on the menu...unless I missed it? We ordered 2 classic milk teas 1) Classic Milk Tea w/ Cream Boost and Grass Jelly ($7) 2) Classic Milk Tea w/ Cream Boost, Cheese Cream, and Cheese Flan ($9) We were confused at first with the Grass Jelly because when we got the drink, it looked like giant boba balls. But after trying the drink, it turns out that their Grass Jelly is just in the shape of boba balls. For the 2nd drink, I was disappointed to see that my Cheese Flan wasn't in the shape of a cheese like I see in all the photos. It was also a little too salty. The Cheese Cream was WAY TOO SALTY. The actual milk tea was disappointing. It tasted like a basic classic milk tea from Quickly's. I'm not hating on Quickly's because that's the milk tea shop I grew up with. But I could go to Quickly's and get a black milk tea for $4-$5. We particularly don't like how they price their drinks and topping add-ons. If you want a drink with no toppings, it's already $6 which is pretty high already compared to some other boba shops in the same plaza (Sack of Potatoes Milk Tea w/ Grass Jelly - $ 6.25). So yes, I did pay $9 because if you want 2+ toppings (of your choice) since it was my first time here. But since coming here and trying it out, we wouldn't come back. read more
