I was a regular since this place first opened (so I have been coming to this place for YEARS). I used to go so often that even the employees knew me as the Thai Tea girl with 50% sweet, 50% ice. As soon as I walked in, an employee would just immediately start making my drink before I even finished paying. I have seen this place changed owners 3x now and unfortunately, this is the final draw. A few weeks ago when they recently opened with their new 3rd owner, I asked for my usual Thai Tea, 50% sweet, 50% ice. The ice was more than usual, but it was still acceptable. Today, I asked for 50% sweet, 25% ice and the cup was literally full of ice. I asked the employee why was the cup full of ice if I asked for 25% ice. They responded that the policy changed and that the ratio of thai tea and ice would remain the same? I then asked what would 100% ice look like then. The employee responded that the ice cubes would be bigger. Young man, I'm not that dumb. I lost it at that point. The Sweet Corner has been lost to enshittification. Good bye, Sweet Corner. We dropped by to grab a slice of tiramisu this afternoon after lunch. The lady was having a hard time to separate the slice from the whole cake and I noticed there was a little bit missing corner at the bottom when she took out a slice. I could ask for another piece but I didn't think it was a biig deal. What really surprised me was when we got home and tried to eat the slice, we found out the part of the cake has been eaten. I swung by this place for a drink while waiting for our table at Blue Monkey, and decided to try #1 Green Grass Jelly and it hit the spot! The coconut water made it a more refreshing drink which was what I was looking for. I also really enjoyed the chai seeds, grass jelly, and pandan jelly that was in there. This place looks like it also has a lot of other good desserts, and my Vietnamese friend highly recommended their hot desserts, specifically #20 (cha bap) and #25 (che chuoi). Was very disappointed as this had been my go-to spot in the area for over ten years. Today was the last time I'll ever be back. Ordered milk teas for the family. Not only did they ignore the request for no ice, they filled the cup with 2/3 ice. When we asked the staff, we received a rude, "yeah" with no other explanation. Another staff member said they filled the cup with 8oz of milk tea. That's great, for a 24oz cup, checks out for 2/3rd ice. Might as well call the drink "ice with a splash of milk tea." Haven't felt so ripped off by a boba shop in a while, and would advise against coming here. This dessert/boba shop is in the "corner" of the Vietnam town plaza so you know it's good. I've been coming here with my friends for a long time and they're one of the best places to get dessert and boba. It's a great place to hang out or have a study group. They have a lot of seating inside and outside the shop. Super nice vibe and aesthetically pleasing backdrops for Instagram pics! You can take your order from the worker or a kiosk. I like the kiosk more since it's a bit quicker. It also shows you pictures of each item, which is helpful if you aren't sure of what the drinks look like. They have a huge variety of drinks and desserts. It's amazing how they can make each drink and dessert so good. It can be a bit crazy when you have so many items on the menu so the fact that each drink and dessert isn't too overwhelming or bland is incredible. They do it right! I love the Oreo cheesecake. It comes with a small Oreo on top and is so soft and delicious. It's not overwhelming with the cheese aspect. The ratio of the crust and cheese is perfect. As a non Vietnamese speaking person, I found it hard to order the drinks due to the language barrier. I suggest to add numbers next to the food name to reduce confusion and expedite the ordering process. I order Che Bo which has avocado pudding and the actual avocado chucks. Uhm hello!! Super cheap and delicious creme brulee? Need I say more? The boyfriend KNOWS how creme brulee is my favorite dessert and took me here since he's extremely familiar with the area. We came on a sunny Saturday afternoon and the entire plaza was relatively busy. We ordered both the Creme brulee and the Espresso Creme brulee. While I have had much more delicate consistency from other places, for ~$5 you really can't hate. The flavor is there and the consistency is good enough. The Espresso creme brulee was yummy and had a cream puff on top! The torched sugar on the regular creme brulee was a bit too thick and too hard for my liking. Overall, still realllllly solid!! It's a small little cafe, they do have a few chairs and table outside as well . The drink was delicious, high quality and smooth coconut milk with chewy fresh jellies and fruits. Customer service definitely needs major work & the funny thing is it doesn't stop us from visiting cause Hot TaroT is the bessst! & the yummy treats are all filled w/goody goodness, so we can't help but visit when we crave this place even when there's a thousand other boba shops in the same plaza. I feel like the mango doesn't really taste like *mango* but yummy nonetheless! The lychee Italian soda was also really refreshing. The slice of red velvet kind of reminded of "nothing Bundt cakes". Was my wife's favorite place to get some creme puffs. I decided to swing by and pick up a few for her. Bought 10, paid and left. Later it turned out the creme puffs were old and stale. It's been so long since I've been to the Grand Century plaza I hadn't even realized they expanded the back part of it! I would've never came here if it weren't for my friend's massive sweet tooth. Except she was let down when the Oolong boba drink she bought was bitter (not the strong tea flavor, but straight up bitter), oof. Not sure how you can mess up on Oolong tea unless it was overbrewed. I felt like the menu was overwhelming with so many options. They had che, boba, all types of nut and dairy milks, etc. And on display were different kinds of pastries. I ended up getting the elderflower tea with 0 sugar, less ice, and no toppings. I was honestly very impressed with the drink! It tasted slightly sweet even at 0% so I'm wondering if it was the natural flower nectar from the elderflower? The store was kept clean, hand sanitizer available at the register, and the staff were all wearing masks. There is outdoor seating available, as well.
