I came here specifically to try their slim bánh mì sandwiches and ordered four (three pâté with chả lụa and one combo), along with a dozen mini beignets. After paying at the kiosk, a staff member came out a few minutes later to let me know they only had enough slim bread for two sandwiches. At the counter, I was offered the option to switch the remaining two to regular bánh mì, along with a $1 refund. The refund calculation was wrong, but I didn't want to make a big deal out of it and accepted it. On the bright side, the slim bánh mì were excellent, so it was disappointing they only had two available. Unfortunately, the regular bánh mì didn't live up to the same standard and weren't enjoyable. The mini beignets, however, were a highlight, they were soft, pillowy, and absolutely delicious.

Friendly service and very open seating inside. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, so the Tully location is better if you want more space / no issues finding parking. The general area at this location, being near Walmart and Vietnam Town makes it a very busy area. Ordered the Ube coffee and salt coffee. Both are very good and I think the coffee is quite strong, not as sweet as other spots with Vietnamese iced coffee. It feels like they put less condensed milk, which I appreciate because I like that hit of coffee taste. Definitely my go to spot whenever I'm around the area and in need of cafe sua da. They also serve food here and sell a thin version of banh mi called banh mi que. It's about $5 and a good snack if you're in a pinch and don't want a whole sandwich to eat.

Came here at 9:22, says they're open at 9:00, doors are locked. Now I have to drive all the way to the Tully location. Not a good first impression!

The drinks are nice, but the service could be better. Review is for Cafes Quan 2 location near Walmart. Milk texture is amazing, and place has nice AC and ventilation. Barista forgot to put Boba in my drink and had to ask to remake drink. This was in a Wednesday night. Picture is Peach Milk Tea.

This is the newest Cafes Quan location to open up. Nestled off of Story Rd, CQ took over the location where Bobo Drinks used to be. The drinks menu itself is pretty spot-on to the Lion Plaza location but the snacks differ. You will not find any macarons here but instead they carry croc shaped waffles filled with cheese [no other flavor offerings are available]. Purchases: *Croc Waffles [pair] * BANH MI QUE CO COMBINATION SPECIAL * Coconut Coffee * Egg Coffee The young lady handling the ordering and register was nice. The unfortunate part was her not speaking English too well so there was a bit of a mishap when we placed our order- our order for a CQ coconut milk coffee with jelly ended up being a coconut coffee. Lmao. No apology, no offering to remake the drink, she just responded with: "this is what you ordered" Insert the WTF EMOJI FACE. Good: The coconut coffee [not what we initially wanted or ordered] and the egg coffee was great. These tasted exactly just like the Lion Plaza CQ. Bad: The crocs waffles are trash- the batter was not remotely sweet and the cheese center was super skimp. The powdered sugar provided with it could not salvage the taste and we had to grab our condense milk and dunk each bite. Even with that attempt, we couldn't even finish one shoe. Don't waste your money on this. The Banh mi wasn't much better. This was the first time I ever tried this item and let me tell you how disappointed I was to receive bread that tasted stale and old. Do yourself a favor and get yourself a real Banh mi elsewhere if this is what you're craving. 3 stars and I feel like that's me being kind. Not sure if I'd come back to this location, I think I'd prefer the original Cafes Quan. Meh.

Drinks here are SOO good!! My friend and I got the pandan latte and salted coffee. The barista recommended 50% sweet and 100% sweet for those drinks respectively and we got 50 for both but we should've listened to her LOL. Pandan was a good amt of sweetness but the salted coffee was bitter at 75% sweet. The barista knew what she was talking about so take their recommendation. Place was clean but it was also cold and the music was SOO loud so we went to our car.. They also had these cool croc waffles .. we didn't order them but i've never seen anything like that Id want to come back and try those and the CQ coffee!

Stumble upon this place since it was near where we were having lunch. Ordered the banana matcha, although it looked pretty, it was lacking that deep matcha taste and could also use more banana flavor. We also ordered the beignets, and made the mistake of ordering the 6 pack thinking the size of the beignets would be small... they were not, they were huge. However, we finished all 6. Delicious. I would comeback just for the beignets.

We tried this newer loc and this one is more spacious than the other location to me. The decor was cute inside and they even had some decor outside too. Service was fine and drinks didn't take too long after ordering. We tried the pandan coffee and one of the new drink- crème brûlée matcha. The crème brûlée matcha was too sweet and was just okay to me. My husband had the pandan coffee and liked it and says the coffee is strong the way he likes. Cute decor inside overall and will try other drinks next time.

This used to be Bobo drinks but now it's a second location of Cafes Quan just off of Story Rd. Same ownership, just rebranded. If you know you know, this cafe is owned by the famous Vietnamese singer Dan Truong. Met his wife the other day here at Cafes Quan and she was super friendly and sweet while we were deciding what to order. I went with the sea salt green tea which was an amazing decision. The green tea was fragrant and perfectly contrasted the sea salt cream on top. The cups are a bit small here, I'm assuming it is because they specialize in coffee but I wish there were bigger sizes! Shop is honestly massive with tons of seating. It's a complete transformation of what Bobo drinks used to look like. Cafes Quan is an underrated spot worth checking out and deserves more recognition.

    Sea salt green tea

Nice service and does the job for a quick coffee or tea and bathroom break. I stopped by for the loo and had a seas salt green tea as well. It was alright although I forgot to ask to adjust the overly sweet drink. I was disappointed that matcha was not an option, as with many cafes nowadays. However, coffee did seem to be the specialty here!

Oh my goodness this was one of THE worst experiences I've ever had with food. I came tonight to grab some boba and try the sate squid. We got everything to go and it was $30 for 2 milk teas and the sate squid. First of all the bobas tasted so old and just atrocious, I got a strawberry milk tea and a mango milk tea with boba. The teas both tasted like those cocktail syrups and nothing like the fruit at all. The cashier lady also upgraded both of our drinks without even letting us know or asking and we saw it at the last second on the screen that it was upgraded to a large for a dollar more or so, but that doesn't even matter it would've been nice to get a headsup but after trying the food and drinks I'm pissed. The squid tasted like dish soap, I don't know if it was the dishes they used or what but it wasn't just a little it tasted way too strongly of dish soap that it wasn't genuinely inedible. The bobas were bad okay no big deal but we also found a strand of hair INSIDE THE PEARLS and not even one there was atleast 2 so we threw everything out. OVERALL A TERRIBLE PLACE FOR PROBABLY ANYTHING DON'T COME HERE ITS DISGUSTING.

It also comes with the whole rice paper wrap setup, where you can grab rice paper and efficiently dip it in water to soften it up. I love that the dipping sauce is in a giant bowl, composed of the classic fish sauce concoction with sugar and some garlic and optional chili. I could honestly drink the bowl of fish sauce if I'm being honest but I'm fortunately more civilized than that. Service is very quick. The food comes out fast and it's pretty efficient. Noodles itself was perfectly cooked, slight chew to it and not soggy. The dish had the sweet, salty, savory combo The egg rolls were on the smaller side but tightly packed with delicious ground pork. Crispy outside. Came with the slightly spicy sweet fish sauce with chili. The banh beo chen came in one small plate instead of little dipping sauce plates. It had minced shrimp (more like crumbles), friend pork rinds pieces, and green onions. I like that they used shrimp instead of mung bean paste. The steamed tapioca/rice cake base was also topped with fried pork rinds and fried shallots (tasted like smoky onipn rings). The combination of all the texture and taste was well balanced. Sweet, salty, umami.

Between Saigon and Hanoi, I went on a full-blown bánh cuốn quest, trying different spots almost daily. Street stalls, little hole-in-the-wall shops, famous spots--you name it. At some point I stopped being a tourist and became a rice-roll inspector. So yeah... my standards are unfortunately very high now. The best bánh cuốn I had in Vietnam was paper thin and almost translucent, with this delicate chew that somehow breaks apart and melts in your mouth. That's the texture I'm chasing. Coming back here, the rice sheets were noticeably thicker and didn't have that same delicate texture. They also weren't as fresh and warm as I remembered, which makes a huge difference with bánh cuốn. This is one of those dishes that's at its best when the sheets are freshly steamed and hit your table warm. The meat filling was also underwhelming and not nearly as flavorful or savory as another bánh cuốn spot I've had in San Jose. With a dish this simple, there's nowhere to hide--the rice sheet, filling, freshness and nước mám chấm (fish sauce) all have to work together. It's certainly not bad, and I can understand why people enjoy it. But after eating my way through Saigon and Hanoi in pursuit of the perfect bánh cuốn, this one is kinda meh for me now. My old review gave this place 4 stars. Vietnam ruined me.

As I got further into the bowl, however, the flavor started to feel flat and lacked the rich, slow-simmered depth I expect from a restaurant that specializes in this dish. It tasted more heavily seasoned than deeply developed, so experienced bún bò Huế fans may find it underwhelming. The meat was also not as tender as I would have liked, and the congealed blood--usually my favorite part--was overcooked and dry rather than smooth and tender. It's not outstanding, but it's definitely enjoyable. Unfortunately, the service ruined the experience.
