    Hot tea and fish balls
    Jing F.

My go to place because it's just step away from where i live. I usually order avocado smoothie but sometimes they don't have it and i order other drinks and snacks like popcorn chicken as they don't sell fish balls anymore. The staff are nice. They have several tables for patrons. I usually go online and pick up my order.

I got here around 3:30 and there weren't that many people and drinks came out fast. There is also a bathroom you just have to ask for the password for it which is nice. I got the lychee green tea, and it was pretty refreshing. Its more on the pricey side but you get a tall cup. The boba was good but I wish there was more lychee flavor even though there were chunks of lychee. Plenty of tables as well!

Great place for Boba, and all sorts of things on the menu. Great variety, staff is friendly. A great restaurant here!

    Chicken Nibblers on Rice

This is our second time at this location. We have ordered chicken nibblers on rice. The dish is amazing. The chickens are covered with sauces, the chicken tenders are crunchy and very well cooked. It comes with sticky rice and sea weed salad. Overall a must have at this location. Definitely will try again.

Breaktime is pretty popular since its right next to SJSU. My favorite drink has to be the Roasted Oolong Milk tea and boba here is actually well made. The oolong doesn't have much roasted flavor, but I still think its yummy and probably one of the best drinks here. I also like the popcorn chicken. You get a lot of big pieces and can choose from regular or spicy. I picked spicy but didn't taste it, so I'm not sure if that's the flavor or they forgot. They also let me get extra chili sauce! I've tried the chicken nibblers here which isn't bad, but it's reasonably priced for a meal. I think the rice is kinda mushy, but the chicken and seaweed salad is good.

I used to come here all the time when I was a student at SJSU. I visited this shop since I had to drop off a package nearby. I would like to give a shoutout to Jelly for being an amazing barista and helping me with any questions I ad. Mango Green Milk tea (5/5): tasted a bit tarty but tasted great and sweet. Popcorn chicken (3/5): Despite being hot, it was very dry lacked seasoning.

Still one of my favorite spots! Used to go here all the time as an SJSU student to study years ago and still go here now to do work! They always have such amazing employees and chill music too!

Popcorn chicken could use some of the five spices seasoning and does not come with garlic or basil like most other locations with popcorn chicken. It's more of a fried chicken texture versus a popcorn texture. It pretty much comes as is the Boba flavoring for the jasmine milk tea had a good chewy texture and a nice smooth tea flavoring.

A nice, small spot with really good popcorn chicken at SJ downtown. There aren't a lot of seatings and the service was straightforward. I got a mango green tea and spicy popcorn chicken. Not sure if it's because it's in downtown and close to SJSU, but this was on the pricey side (around $16 total). I think the popcorn chicken was worth it though considering the proportion is decent. The popcorn chicken comes with a sauce and was so crispy and juicy! It was one of the best I've had and steaming hot when I got it. However, if you get it in spicy, be aware that the chili powder can be really spicy! I enjoyed the flavor but it was too spicy for me after eating a few. The mango green tea was refreshing and solid. Overall, pretty nice place for some refreshments.

Black Sugar Boba Milk and Honey Green Tea

My friend goes to SJSU and we both wanted boba but didn't want to go too far. We looked up what was close and found Breaktime Tea. This was my first time here so I didn't know what to expect but as someone who loves milk tea /tea in general, I had to try it. When I go to new places, I try to get the ones that sound familiar so I compare the sweetness (some are water down or too sweet) but this was just right for me. We got black sugar boba milk and honey green tea. They were both amazing and refreshing, especially the honey tea. They also weren't too pricey. The sugar levels can be a bit too sweet for some so you may not like it too much but you can get less sugar for the drinks so if you do get these drinks. The tea barista was so nice and patient. We stood there for a while since we weren't too sure what to get. They helped us quickly so we got our drink in 2-3 minutes after the order. They have seating, but it can get filled up quickly and the vibe is very cozy. I don't think they have a bathroom but the SJSU library is close by, if you need one If you are close to SJSU and need something sweet or a "break", check out Breaktime Tea. They also have snacks!!!!

I have not had boba in a while and a late-night craving brought me here. I got the avocado smoothie based on a sudden pang of guilt while I was ordering. I should have gotten the regular milk tea since I was not a big fan of the avocado smoothie...too healthy for me. They were out of egg waffle which was which was a bummer. The decor is cool and the popcorn chicken was good.

    Roasted Oolong Milk Tea
    Queenie N.

Came here for boba and wanted to try their Roasted Oolong Milk Tea because it's honestly hard to find a spot with a good roasted oolong and I would definitely say this spot did not disappoint! The music in there is also really good and is a nice ambiance, however it is really loud so it can be hard if you need silence to study, but if you don't mind, it's a great place to get good boba and get work done while vibing to the music!

    Lobster balls
    Irene C.

Came to grab a snack around 330 and the lobster balls hit the spot. The sauce was super good and has a kick, might be a mix of sriracha & ranch! Was looking to try the fish balls but they ran out or it was discontinued. Ordering is quick and you can earn points. Took about 5mins for the lobster balls to come out which i think is reasonable. Every time I come, the place is always packed so it's good for grab & go.

Do they accept cash as a form of payment?

    Yes we do. Thanks

Just wondering if they still serve shaved snow bc I did not see on menu but pics that were posted 7-8yrs ago?

Sorry Amy. We no longer have shaved snow :( Our tea menu is greatly improved compared to years ago and we also have a lot more snacks :)

Do you have nondairy bubble tea?

Most of our milk teas are non-dairy. For the ones that are dairy, we also have non-dairy options, almond milk or soy milk. Just let the cashier know you want it non-dairy.

Does the menu include any decaffeinated / non-caffeinated milk teas?

From what I saw it does not

Is the soufflé cheesecake on the menu yet?

Hi. I think you’re asking about the delivery menu (UberEats, Grubhub, Postmates). As of now it’s not on those menu yet because we make a limited amount per day and only have enough to sell in store. However we are looking to increase the quantity… Read more

Even at 100% sweetness, they actually weren't too sweet, I would even argue getting 125% to match other boba places 100% sweetness. I even got a pic of the seating without anyone in my photo. SCORE! I would highly recommend a day other than the weekend. I would give this place a 3.5 if I could. I just ordered a drink for myself and for my brother. In and out in maybe 10minutes? There's a kiosk to order and a spot to pick up your drink-- very efficient. I got the basic jasmine milk tea because I love jasmine tea and knew that if any place were to make the best jasmine milk teas, it would be this place. Molly is Chinese for jasmine anywayyyyyy (shout out to my coworker for telling me this!). I did not try my brother's tea so I cannot comment on it. I liked my jasmine tea, I can tell it was higher quality than other places I've had jasmine tea, but is it worth the hype? I don't think so. It's good, don't get me wrong, but wait-in-a-3-hour-line good? nothing is. I think I've also become desensitized to the high tea prices that $7-8 is somehow normal? When it shouldn't be! My only frame of reference nowadays is seeing how much tea cost in Asia. And in Taiwan (the birthplace of boba) I got boba for $3 ;( *sigh oh well I live in one of the most expensive places in the country but also I cannot believe I let myself think this is okay. Anyway, it's a treat, not a habit I would give into everyday.

Each ingredient tasted fresh and added a different texture. I would definitely get the Ha Noi Mist again. I ordered online and I was grateful to see the pricing was the same. Pick up was super easy. I opted for ice on the side because I wasn't having my che until later, but unfortunately the ice froze into one big chunk in my freezer so I might just have them put the ice in the drink next time. I think price might be the only sticking point. The che is about 50% more expensive than Bambu or other Vietnamese dessert spots. I can absolutely see why their products are more expensive and totally think the quality of their dessert drinks surpass Bambu or similar dessert cafes. At the same time I have to acknowledge that I can order a che ba mau at another dessert spot and have my craving satisfied for less money. For me, this makes Co Ba a special treat that I wouldn't be able to have all the time.

I also got the Ha noi mist, as it was the first drink in their "specialties" tab. It was $10.50 which is like hecka pricey?? But cmon, gotta give it a try, right!! It was a coconut milk with pandan jelly, red pearls, coconut meat, purple yam, and mung bean. Their toppings are all hand made! With all the toppings together with coconut milk accompanied by the crunchy ice, this drink was really yummy. It comes with a long spoon so you can scoop around and change each bite. Here's what we got: **Sunny Side Up Matcha Einspanner $7.75: A vibrant matcha base topped with a dollop of silky whipped cream, finished with a sunny side up 'egg' where the yolk is a sweet mango syrup. This drink had me saying "Oh wow!" after taking the first sip. After the second sip, it was "Was that a really ripe mini chunk of fresh mango?" This was so well executed that it felt effortless. It wasn't overly sweet-- the Matcha and the Mango flavors blended together beautifully yet you could make out the flavors of both. I usually scoff at how expensive drinks are these days but I could justify the price on this. **Black Sesame Coffee Einspanner $7.50: Signature espresso drink with our house-made Black sesame cream with your choice of milk. Another hit. I love Black Sesame and when I can find it, I order. This was also on par with the Sunny Side up because of how distinctly flavorful it was. You can taste the nuttiness of the black sesame seeds. Add in the espresso and it makes for a coffee that you could gulp down. Both of these drinks are dangerous because if it was up to me, I could have probably drank these both in under 5 minutes. Sigh.

It is in a hidden pocket between Dr.Funk and Gyu-Kaku, so keep an eye out. Inside was pretty spacious with a good amount of seating for you to mingle with friends and family. Something cool and unique was that they had samples of their milk tea when you walk in (through dispensers). I was interested in trying their ice cream and saw they had some unique flavors like golden star, kheer, and more. While I tried them and thought they were good but sweet, I opted for the mint chocolate and my partner got their chocolate orange. In my personal opinion, I think their mint chocolate ice cream was a bit grainy for my liking, and I wish it was smoother. It was a mild mint flavor with neon green coloring. My partner's ice cream was interesting. I thought it would be a mixed chocolate-orange flavor (which is unique), but it ended up being half chocolate and half orange. I wouldn't necessarily say this place is somewhere I would be an extreme advocate for you to go to but if you have some kiddos who want a sweet treat, this would definitely satisfy their sweet tooth.
