I drive by Sinceretea all the time either going to/returning home from the main street of Japantown (Jackson Ave). Street parking only. They offer inside and outdoor seating if you prefer. The decor is simple and clean. The pricing is a bit pricey but that's what you pay for quality tea. *Pink Lady: organic green tea, rose jam, guava juice (added house-made rose jelly +$1.00). Light and refreshing. Next time, I will try their mochi egg puffs. Come support your local business!

What an amazing experience! We just got to enjoy workshop one of three in learning the intricacies of tea. Of the three core types of tea (black, green, and oolong), the first class focuses on black teas. Jenny (store owner) is great at walking us step-by-step through different techniques in making tea, ranging from cold brew to making our own tea concentrate and mintea hibiscus specialtea. This is a great chill environment to learn about the nuances of tea! If you enjoy making your own tea, or just wanna learn more about tea, this is a great beginner class introduction to black tea! Thank you Jenny, Cyrus, and family for a wonderful experience! Looking forward to class #2!

Tiny place with no parking. But you can find street parking in front. Ordered on the kiosk. Good choices for drinks. Not cheap but pretty tasty. We ordered the Berry Merry with boba and Lavender Lemonade. Tea was light and the strawberry tasted fresh but the drink seemed watered down. The Lemonade was better. Would try again if in the area. Service was ok. Inside was fairly clean. And it was nice and warm temperature!

One of my favorite spots for rose lemonade. This spot is tucked away near San Jose Japantown. This is my second time coming here and I got the rose lemonade. I like it a bit less sweet and with less ice. The drink comes with rose jelly that they make in house. The drink is refreshing and has a good rose flavor. It's not bitter or overwhelming. Also the lemonade isn't super sour too! It's a well balanced drink!

I ordered the Teana Colada without coconut cream. My drink came out within 10 minutes. I was not too sweet at 25% sugar so I asked for a bit more and it was good enough for me. This shop is a great place for studying or dates. It's mostly quiet with students here. Unfortunately parking is limited to 15 minutes outside so find streetside parking elsewhere. I recommend this place if you're ever in downtown San Jose and want boba and a quiet environment!

It took a while for the order to be served so keep this in mind when getting food. But the dark roasted oolong tea flavor was nice and strong and black sesame in the egg puff were nicely roasted with pieces of mochi in each puff! Great calm cafe study vibes ~

Like this place, very neat, owner is pleasant and friendly! Enjoy the food, coffee and setting!

I'm not sure if this is just this drink, because we only tried one but something definitely tasted "off." Almost like something went bad in the drink itself. The jelly/pudding texture does not mix well with the drink itself either. I'd come back to try a different drink but this one was just not it.

This place made me feel so excited! First, when I walked it I was greeted by both a man and woman who were sweet and friendly. I was so excited to see samples - that's always fun! I sampled both the tea and mochi egg puff and was sold. Ended up ordering the black sesame egg puff which was delicious, and a custom tea. I went for the Peony Tea zero sweet pandan jelly and rose cream with a salted plum. YUM!!! The creams and jellies are homemade - not too sweet, just right. Actually had a hard time ordering because the whole menu looked magnificent :-). In terms of the ambiance, the space it self was well lit, bright and spacious. I was able to get easy street parking.

The "Golden Spring" :/ just bitter pineapple water.

The tea was....not good. I don't think this place specializes in milk tea, so don't come here for that. I got a dark roasted oolong with whole milk and it was so watery and tasteless. The boba was decent. The lavender lemonade was alright. The golden spring drink (their "specialTea") was bitter and watery too. No pineapple flavor at all, like it was from a can. The workers were kind and we got our drinks pretty quick but gosh...what a let down. The drinks didn't look like the pictures and it felt very rushed and low quality even though it wasn't busy.

I've been here once yearssss ago and they did a major facelift - super cute and dainty. This is literally the closest boba place to my place.. which means easy to access! There's street parking on Taylor or on the residential streets. So excited about this cloud series! They have 3 flavors: Jasmine, peony, oolong. I went with the Jasmine one with boba. FYI this already comes with the strawberry foam so no need to add extra. The boba was made well, the perfect chewiness. I like that it has a good blend of tea flavor even though it's a blended ice drink.. and if the ice melts, it still tastes pretty good. My sister got the peony plum tea; it is super refreshing but it lacked ice.. there was no option to select ice level on the kiosk.. so we added more ice when we got home. Not sure how long this cloud series will be around but def will be back to try the other two flavors!

This is a hidden boba shop that blends in with their neighbors and community. I've always drove past but never took a chance to try it out until today. I stopped by on a Thursday around 4pm. It looked like a slow day. The interior isn't huge but if you're looking for a place to sit down and do some work, this is a great spot. I ordered a Berry Merry which is green tea, tasted like jasmine, strawberry puree, and randomly orange juice. I ordered it less sweet and it was perfect for me. The tea was strong and slightly bitter, then you taste the sweetness of the strawberry puree. The orange juice was pretty subtle but it did pair well with the drink and added a slight tartness. Next time I would try some of their toppings. The service was pretty fast, it took less than 3 minutes for me to receive it. As I was ordering, I saw samples for drinks and some of their snacks. The entire room smelled like their egg waffles and it was extremely tempting. If I didn't have dinner soon I would've caved in. The interior was cozy, clean, neat, and aesthetic. I definitely would enjoy doing some work in here.

Also got the Coco-Bo (coconut milk avocado smoothie-slushie) - 0% sweet, but not sure how they adjust this ~ it was still sweet, as both the coconut part & avocado part were separately sweet, but still enjoyable & refreshing. One small caveat is that the avocado part is a paste so even though it's most likely house made, to me the texture is a little processed (as opposed to chunky blended avocado). The only big difference is the vinyl that you get your drinks out of (which is a small change). When you get to Playback, there is a kiosk located near the front entry to order drinks. While this is convenient and typical for drink places, I do think it removes the homey feel to cafes that you get when you can interact with their baristas, and the layer of community is a bit disconnected. While I was there, I ordered the Teddy Graham latte to try out since it seemed like one of their staple drinks when I did my research. The drink itself was good, toasted, with a nice subtle graham flavor. I would say though for $9 per drink, it was overpriced. Jovanna has such an amazingly kind and effervescent personality. Seeing the staff really brightens my day before I even have my first sip of coffee! Gabbie is super fun to chat with and knowledgeable, too. Literally everyone, from top to bottom, is a nice person who's passionate about the fine drinks they produce. It really warms my heart when people show a great amount of care and respect for their craft. I was a coffee noob a few months ago, and have received an amazing education from the team. I really just want to say, from the bottom of my heart, thank you! Keep doing right by your customers and your products. 5/5, no notes! P.S. The Guatemala-origin coffee is crazy amazing. I've gone through pounds of the stuff. On a serendipitous day a few weeks ago, I even got to meet the grower who was in town visiting the Park Ave location. Where else can you find that type of commitment to excellence?!
