They have Midwife and the Baker pastries and many items on their menu are very good. Just wish they had an online ordering system. I ordered their iced matcha cream top with oat milk while my sister ordered the seasonal apple matcha (I think it was apple pie?) with oat milk. Matcha was good, and definitely better than other matchas I've had at other brunch places. BUT if you are comparing it to actual cafes that specialize in matcha, would skip to be honest. It was great to try and it's pretty rare to find a brunch place that does well with everything (drinks, food, and ambiance) unless you're in LA or NY. We landed in San Jose early in the morning and when I looked up places that have good breakfast burrito, Morning Lobby came up so we had to try it. We went in around 9am on Saturday and there was no line, we took our order and grabbed our seat right away. They are also really fast with service, we got our food and drink within like 5-8 min of ordering. The Iced Vienna came recommended by the employee taking the order, it was strong, we had to add drops of water to dilute it but it was good! The bacon burrito was the start of the meal! It comes with 2 sauces but we actually liked the burrito itself without any sauces. It had good flavor throughout and had plenty of bacon which we appreciated. Nice little Cafe off of Almaden Expressway in a small shopping center. Came on a Friday morning before picking up my bib for a race and it was busy. They have small indoor seating, but very spacious outdoor seating. This place has a nice vibe to it. I ordered the sausage egg and cheese sandwich and it was delicious. This place is pretty busy on the weekends!! There is a line for a table however it goes pretty fast and their interior and patio area are bigger than it initially looked. They have a bunch of different coffees and matcha drinks, and lots of breakfast options! You order at the counter once the hostess finds you a table and then the cashier gives you a table number for you to put at your table. I think this makes everything go faster since they just have to bring your food to your table. The breakfast sandwiches were really good and loaded with lots of ingredients and very flavorful! It was pretty busy with a line, but we were greeted right away, given menus, and seated in the waiting area until our order was taken. The atmosphere was really nice, and the waiting area had comfortable seating and great decor. We got the birria bowl, a burger, and matcha to go. The birria bowl was delicious, with great toppings and a spicy sauce that had a nice touch of sweetness. The rice was soft and fluffy, and the burger was juicy and perfectly seasoned. Dropped by on a Friday morning (~10:30am), and there was definitely still a line! I opted for takeout. If you're ordering takeout, just head inside and find someone with the handheld device to order. The line outside is for dine-in. For takeout, I received my order in 15-20 minutes. They are super busy so I try to give some grace but they were a little too scatter-brained for me. I gave my name when I ordered, but then the same lady came up to me multiple times asking if I was someone else & each time I had to correct her, "Michelle? Alma? What did you order?" At one point she even came out to ask how much I paid & when the transaction went through. I later found out it was because they couldn't find my order... regardless, it wasn't a good look on them. While it looked amazing, the Salmon tasted fishy, old, and parts of the toast was rock hard $17.50 2 stars. Cute brunch spot in an unassuming location! Even though it's right on a busy road, they did a good job creating a separation and taking you out of the area. I came on a weekday morning and was glad I did because there was a very short line, unlike all the pictures I saw on Yelp. There were only a few people in front of me and the line moved very quickly. This was plenty of food, but we really wanted to try a variety from the menu. The burrito was loaded up with meat and avocado, something I'd usually be thrilled by, but there weren't a lot of eggs or tots, so it was a little rich. Still good though, and based on pictures of the burritos, not usually the norm. The breakfast sandwich was fine, but I'd choose the burrito over it. Part of me didn't want to write this review because I loved Morning Lobby so much and I'd have to wait longer if y'all all start showing up, cause it's literally so good and worth the wait. Note: This review is written based on two visits. You stand in line outside with some shady umbrellas, the staff is kind and attentive, giving you a menu so by the time you get to the counter you are ready to place your order. It's very efficient, you place the order, get a number, find a table either inside or outside, both very beautiful settings with intentional decor. It's a place you'd want to take a date, a friend or family, it's just so fabulous. I ordered the Matcha and Fried Mortadella Egg Sandwich the first time. I kid you not, one of the best bites I've had all year. The eggs were so fresh and orange, soft and fluffy, with some melty Provolone, some Dijon mayo and stacks of Mortadella. The balance of flavors were superb. The second time we went, I wanted to order everything off the menu and almost ordered the same sandwich again but I saw that they were known for their Bacon Breakfast Burritos. AGAIN, eggs fresh, orange, and fluffy, with crispy hashbrowns and bacon, along with some avocado. It was absolutely delicious and I can see why people enjoyed it so much. The sauce pairings were spicyyy, so use as you will but it really didn't need a whole lot to add to the already flavorful burrito. Curious about what the Birria Breakfast Burrito tastes like, perhaps next time. We also ended up getting the Nutella Banana French Toast which made me want to cry out of joy. Since we moved to the Bay area, we've been searching for the best breakfast burritos near home. Morning Lobby may have ended our search. Their birria burritos are absolute heaven, and somehow they're even better the next day if you manage to have leftovers. It's so delicious that we've never ordered anything else. The proportions of meat and egg are perfect. Flavors melt together, and they have two delicious homemade salsas. They don't take reservations, but they seem to have their ordering and seating system down to maximum efficiency. You stand in line to order, but then someone helps you find seating for your party. We've never had a long wait, even for Sunday brunch. Ambiance is good; they've really done their best to make their charmless strip mall location feel like something nicer. I've been a couple times and have had to wait about 25 minutes (due to the business going viral on social media) but that does not change my rating, the wait is very much worth it. The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich and sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich are also pretty good but be sure to get the spicy house aioli on the side if you have littles. The drinks while beautiful but I find are all very mid. The iced mont blanc and apple matcha latte (seasonal) were all very mild tasting drinks. Personally not sweet enough for me nor where there any contrasting flavors shining in the drinks. I added a bit more sweetner but it didn't work for me. It took over yogurtland in the corner spot, which is honestly pretty good considering the line that wraps around it anyways we got there Labor Day around 930 and we waited about 40 minutes to get a table. I would honestly give the food and coffee a 10/10. However, the experience with the seating left me disappointed. I came with my boyfriend hoping to sit outside, and while the balcony area was really nice, we were only offered a table right in front of the store, almost in the parking area, with no shade. There were tables on the balcony for larger parties, and I felt like the staff could have easily rearranged the tables to accommodate two people. Instead, she went inside to check if there was a larger group coming, even though we had arrived first and the seating is first come, first served since they don't take reservations. What bothered me most was the attitude and how the situation was handled. As someone who used to be a regular customer, that experience unfortunately made me feel differently about the place. Pricey...but delicious! We came on a Monday morning (three day weekend) at 10AM. There was a line outside, but luckily a two-person opening, so we only waited 10 minutes or so. You order first at the kiosk, then they'll bring your food to your table. We got the birria breakfast burrito, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, iced vienna latte, and hot vanilla latte. The service was pretty fast after we ordered, and there's also various different hot sauces at the sauce bar. Even though I'm not the biggest coffee person, I'll admit - the lattes were smooth, creamy, and flavorful. The real stars of the show, for me though, were the breakfast items! Firstly, for the sandwich, the eggs were cooked to perfection - soft and jammy, practically pillowy inside. And the caramelized onions were an AMAZING addition, literally elevating a regular breakfast sandwich. The burrito was also delicious. I've been meaning to try this place and today was finally the day. When I arrived there was a line going out the door with around 4 parties ahead of me but it surprising moved really quickly. I ordered a vanilla bean latte and felt it was slightly above average but nonetheless it was good. This place is definitely super busy but the woman managing the dining room and seating seemed to be on top of it and I say this because they were originally going to seat me at the bar ( which looked sort of sad because its in the corner, a little too close to where food is being prepared, there were a lot of dishes and stuff crowding the surface nearing where you eat). Thankfully something worked out and I was able to sit at a table and they were able to move someone who wanted to dine outside to a table there. Food: The kitchen seems to run efficiently and the food comes out relatively quickly. I ordered the Birria breakfast burrito and removed avocado. Inside of it was egg, some pretty crispy hash browns, and Birria meat. If there was cheese in it I couldn't tell. While I liked the flavor of the meat I felt like the flavor of everything else in it was just lacking a bit. Presentation and ambiance : The ambiance once you step inside is pretty nice and it looks super clean inside. They put fresh flowers on each table which is pretty cute. One thing I was not a fan of was the sauces being served in plastic containers it just seems a bit off for a place that's so aesthetic and trendy. However, giving two choices for sauce is refreshing and I leaned towards liked the orange one a bit more. Portions: The coffee and the burrito was enough for me to leave filling the right amount of full but I can definitely see how this would not be nearly enough food for someone else. The burrito also looked pretty thin when it came out. Pricing: Seems a bit steep with a coffee and burrito costing me 30. I fear that it might just be due the economy. I guess the pricing seems sort of necessary to keep a restaurant afloat but something about it still feels off. Overall, I don't know if I'd return solely for the food but they do have a great vibe and something that feels pretty unique going on here. read more

Morning Lobby Café has become my go-to place for coffee since I live right around the corner. From the moment you walk in, they make you feel like family. They always recognize me, greet me with a smile, and provide such warm, genuine customer service every single time. I love coming here either on my own or with friends, sipping on my coffee and taking a moment to start my day off right. It is one of those places that feels welcoming and familiar. This is my third time here since their opening so clearly it's a favorite of mine. I've tried a few of their items: birria burrito, breakfast sandwich, fried mortadella, lox toast, Mont Blanc, and a few of the seasonal drinks like this pictured birthday cake lattes. Nothing has disappointed! Dining in can get a little tough with bigger parties especially later in the morning but we've dined in with 2 and only waited a short bit for a table. read more

Breakfast spot that took over La Vic's! Been seeing this breakfast joint when I drive past by for months now but never got to try it until recently. We came with a group of 5 people in the morning on a weekday around 9am. There was a good amount of traffic coming in and out mainly for takeout orders. We got to take a look at menu but opted for easier visuals through Yelp. We ended up getting a raspberry matcha, matcha with cream top, hot latte and a vanilla bean latte for our drinks. For our food, we got nutella banana sandwiches, avocado toast, breakfast burrito, and a couple mortadella sandwiches. The matcha with cream top here is heavenly. I never finished a matcha drink so fast in my life. It was flavorful and the cream top was a phenomenal addition. My sister enjoyed her raspberry matcha saying there was a fruity yet still earthy taste to her drink. The hot coffee latte (not sure what they got) was gone by the end of the meal. I would come back here again strictly for the matcha with cream top. The vanilla bean latte was a little too sweet for my boyfriend and he couldn't taste or feel the caffeine lol. The mortadella sandwiches here were amazing. The brioche bread was soft and sweet. Everything inside the sandwich: the eggs, meat and cheese complemented one another. The avocado toast was refreshing to eat adding a good balance to our meals. The breakfast burrito was a popular item here it seems! A lot of people got it, and it was gone by the end of our meals. The Nutella banana French toast was popular with the sweet teeth people we had in our group. I can't wait to come back here next time for breakfast or for a quick stop for matcha and breakfast. :) read more

First time here and I am a fan. At first, I was a little confused with the set up. There is no list, you stand in line and they'll direct you when it's your time to order at the counter. You order first then it's self serve seating, but since it was busy when we went (Sunday 10:30am), they arranged it to when a table opened up. Shared the birria burrito and the nutella french toast (swap the bananas for strawberries, since our friend was allergic to bananas) and it was delicious. The burrito was a good size and it came with their house cilantro sauce and a spicier sauce. It is on a pricier size though for it's size at $17. It could be fatter for the price range. It's a little oily but that's because it's a birria style burrito. The nutella french toast as a nice sweet finish. Came with syrup but it was not necessary since the nutella was already sweet. As for coffee, we ordered their iced Vienna latte and enjoyed it. Cute little brunch spot and I can see why there's a line in the morning. Definitely worth checking out. Parking can be easy, but also difficult when it is crowded as there are a few other food spots in the same plaza. read more

We went on a Saturday morning and waited about 15 ish minutes to get seated. The staff was very sweet and attentive. The drinks were very good and sweet enough for me. The burrito was the highlight for me. There's a place in LA that has amazing breakfast burritos but I haven't been able to find one like it in the Bay Area until this one. 10/10 would come again read more
