Final Thoughts: 4.20/5.0 Contrary to many other opinions, I personally really like brunch. It really is more for the vibes and spending time with my friends and family versus the food sometimes. For some reason, this place has always been on my list of to-go brunch places, but I've just never had the chance to go here. After our matcha run, my friend and I decided to go here for brunch. It was around a 45 minute wait today. On their Yelp, appears to be quite the quaint place to to get food and relax. Will definitely be a 4 star for me. Food: Jumbo Crab Bene with seasonal fruit: 4.0/5 This is their fresh lump crab with sliced avocado, whole grain mustard and poached eggs stacked on lightly toasted English muffins, topped with scratch made Hollandaise sauce and garnished with locally sourced microgreens. This is served with either house potatoes or seasonal fruits. The lump crab is actually fresh crab I believe. There are some pieces of the shell that were still in there. I'm honestly not even mad because that's a pretty big indicator that it's the fresh crab meat picked out. The egg is nicely poached with a runny yolk. Hollandaise sauce is quite nice and light. The Dijon mustard was quite strong for me and did overwhelm some of the other flavors on the plate. It does add a nice flavor, but occasionally, it was too much. For the English muffin, it was quite thick, so it felt kind of dry. It's noted to be slightly toasted, but its somewhat hard to tell with the mustard, crab meat, and poached egg on top, which are mainly wet items. Avocado is perfectly ripe. I'm not an avocado person, but this one did it just right for me. The fruits came with blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, apples, cantaloupe, and honeydew. Very refreshing and needed after the savory foods. Philly Steak Sandwich with garlic fries: 4.0/5 This sandwich has grilled steak with peppers, onions, and mushrooms topped with provolone cheese on a toasted baguette with mayo and a light teriyaki drizzle. Will come with either a side of house salad or garlic fries. I really liked how they caramelized the onions and peppers inside of this. There's that additional sweetness from it that works well with the steak and cheese. Very tender meat. The bread also seemed kind of big and just almost dry too. Not too big of a concern given the amount of filling that they give. My friend choose the garlic fries and those were amazing. The cut is just right and the crisp on the outside is just so good. You can taste the garlic, but I could do with even more garlic to it. --------- Quality: Fresh Something I really like is that they use real crab in their jumbo crab bene. You can actually feel the tiny pieces of the shell in it, which usually means its fresh. The food did take a second to come out, but both were piping hot. My friends onions and veggies were quite caramelized, which is nice. Brings out a lot of the flavor component in the sandwich. The fries were actually so good too. So many delicious menu options and I got their Blooms breakfast burrito which was absolutely loaded with marinated flank steak, scrambled eggs, grilled red onions, crispy potatoes, roasted chilies, fresh avocado and cheddar-jack cheese blend. The burrito was huge and the leftovers were almost enough for another meal. It was really good and hearty. I was meeting up with folks to have brunch, and they put our names on the list for a table. It was quite the long wait. Once we were seated, service wasn't particularly good. I don't know if it was because we were outside or what, but we had to have someone go inside to ask for more water and to get boxes and the check. Disclaimer: I ordered takeout Overall, I would say to give this place a try. I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich with no tomato and it came with a pretty decent portion of garlic fries (which I loved because it's lowkey sort of hard to come by good garlic fries these days) as well as a house salad. I feel like what would really take my take out experience from a 3 star to a 5 star review would be if they would have packaged the salad separate from the sandwich and fries. Everything was so flavorful and portioning was good, however, it was hard to enjoy it fully because the salad made the sandwich bread soggy and the entire bottom layer of fry's were also too soggy to enjoy. Came to Bloom for the second time recently, after coming years ago and trying a bunch of the most popular items from their menu. Food was solid then and is still solid now. The first time I tried the pulled pork bene, chicken and waffles, and croissant french toast, I liked all with the croissant french toast being my favorite because I'm a sucker for french toast. This time we got the California Bene and Steak & Eggs. The steak was cooked perfectly, the California bene was pretty messy and hard to share, but it was loaded up with bacon and avocado. Each meal came with duck fat potatoes, which were really good. Portions are very large, we left super full and ended up taking home a lot of the potatoes. It gets really crowded, so come early or prepare to wait. We arrived shortly after they opened and got a seat no problem, but by the time we were done around 9:15am on a Saturday, there was already a wait. The first time I came was a weekday afternoon, and it was even packed then. The one downside other than the wait is that because it's crowded, it is very loud. The sweet potato shishito hash intrigued me from the get-go and it did not disappoint. Came here on Saturday around noon to celebrate some small milestones. I arrived a bit later than my party so they were waiting about 15 minutes longer than me. I think we only waited 30 minutes total. Bloom has both outdoor and indoor table seating, as well as booths and a bar. Although I didn't get any footage the queue of people waiting was huddled all around the storefront. Even with a full restaurant we were served really quickly and I felt the noise level was vibey, and not disrespectful. The people to bathroom ratio is a bit rough, and we all had to wait for a while. I got the jumbo crab bene. I think Benedict's can sometimes be a hit or miss for me. I really hate it when they use the rubbery type of bread, but their bread was fresh and buttery. My suggestion to the business owner would be to create some kid friendly options--at least two to choose from would be nice. I ended up ordering her avocado toast ($15). It came with a salad, which of course, is unappetizing to kids. They offered to remove the toppings of pickled red onion, radishes, alfalfa sprouts, which was a nice gesture.
