Gin cocktails and Charcuterie of Jamon Iberico and Manchego Queso
Lilly P.

We were looking for a restaurant with big windows on a rainy night and so grateful we landed here. The food is delicious and the service from Jazz, impeccable! We had their signature cocktails and it's the perfect kinda cocktail that pairs well with a rainy ambiance and a sunny day and we look forward to coming back on a sunny day to enjoy outside! And as Jazz said their cocktail menu pairs well with their food items. We had their tomato bisque perfect for a rainsy night), charcuterie board with jamon iberico and queso manchego (accompanied with fruits and a perfectly paired made-in-house jam) and had the paella de mariscos (the shrimp was my favorite, the hubby preferred the mussels and we both liked the squids texture) To top us off, we had a two glasses of their pinot noir and flan for dessert. I wished the flan was a bit sweeter but my husband thought it had thw perfect amount of sweetness. The decor is beautiful, open and airy with a bar at its center. We got seated at like a long bench which with a cushion as the backing (i found uncomfortable and kinda was hoping we'd get seated at a booth since the restaurant wasn't too busy but alas it meant we got to meet Jazz!) When we come back we hope to have more of an appetite and try one of their platos fuertes.

Ambiance is very nice, and the back connects to a bar/speakeasy-type place! Paella: large enough to share with 2, but we had 3 peckish people and still had some left over. The physical dish is wide, but it's not deep. The sauce is definitely one of the highlights! Ceviche Mixto: recommended by the server, this was amazing! However, Rocoto pepper is a nightshade related to berries, and we had a berry allergy in our group. The server and manager were both extremely kind in remedying the situation, and even checked with their chef about all the ingredients. I appreciate their effort! Flan: I'm not a flan person, but this one was irresistible!! I loved its light sweetness, texture, and flavor!! Highly recommend. Pricing seems right for Santana Row, but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt your soul a little when you pay lol. I also feel like their menu isn't super extensive, so the four of us took a while to decide what we wanted to share. However, I feel like that just means they really specialize in their dishes!

Loved the vibrant atmosphere and the spacious indoor + outdoor seating. Service was very friendly, and they walked us through the menu, which we always appreciate. First time here, so we went all in and ordered a little bit of everything - mixed seafood ceviche, sausage paella, tempura shrimp over purple potato cake, roasted eggplant, beef empanadas, and meatballs, plus two glasses of fruity sangria. Everything was flavorful and we were very full by the end...so dessert will have to wait for next time. Favorites: the ceviche, paella, and meatballs.

Well-decorated, modern restaurant in Santana Row! Have been wanting to visit but I think it's always busy here. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. I made a reservation for lunch on a friday. It wasn't busy at all. We sat inside and ordered a medium paella de mariscos (shrimp, mussels, squid, aioli) and the ceviche mixto (white fish, shrimp, scallops, octopus, leche de tigre, Rocoto pepper). I thought the ceviche was interesting. The seafood on the paella was delicious although the dish was a bit oily (but expected).

Don't be fooled by the hip and chic interior. Food is very mid here--we didn't like all single dish here sadly. Everything lacked flavor or was lukewarm. - Mariscos Fritos: 1/5 came out soggy and not even crisp. Asked the waiter if we could have it be remade and it came back extremely overcooked and almost burnt and very crunchy. - Berenjena y Salsa: 1/5 no flavor or seasoning. Too much cheese. And worst, it was not even hot (cries) - Ceviche Mixto: 3/5 needed more seasoning, the portions were good, but the fish was not super fresh imo. Still chewy. - Paella de Marsicos: 2/5 they didn't cook it long enough for it to get that dry crispy bottom. Basically was still mushy like porridge. :/ Service was great and our server was so sweet. Vibes were cool here but food really lacked. I can see how maybe getting drinks after work here would b cool but otherwise I'd skip this spot if you're trying to have good food. Also music was unbearably loud here lol.

Came here to try out their paella, patatas bravas, ceviche, croquette de jamon among other items. The paella we ordered was Paella de Mariscos. It was alright but not as flavorful as I would expect out a good seafood based paella. Also I asked for a more burnt base but it came out still a little too soggy and without the crusty bottom I was expecting. The patatas bravas has a nice crunch to it but the aioli brava drizzles over the potatoes was incredibly little and sparing that we had to ask them to bring out more sauce on the side. Cerviche was fresh and good. I ordered their off menu, mezcal cocktail which has a little stronger tequila concentration than the ones I had in other places. Nice ambiance with modern setup. Like how the restaurant has an "open concept" and you get nice fresh breeze of air coming into the air conditioned restaurant.

Pitahaya and Pisco Sour

Santana Row has A LOT of new restaurants and we haven't been to any of them. Well, we knocked off 3 (yes, 3!) in one evening: Suspiro, Augustine, and Zazil. First, Suspiro. They have a "secret" bar, but unfortunately, it was closed for a private event. But the restaurant was so pretty and lively, and the hostess was so nice, that we decided to sit at the regular bar. Suspiro is Peruvian, which meant we had to order the Pisco Sour. We also got the Pitahaya, which had gin, dragon fruit, orange juice, egg white, and a Tempronillo red wine float. Since it was 87 degrees, ceviche sounded good, so we got that to snack on. We agreed that the Pisco Sour at Cascal's is still the best, but Suspiro had the most potential out of the 3 restaurants that we tried tonight. I loved the vibe! The restaurant was just so well designed, we really did feel like we were transported to Spain on a hot, sultry night! The service was good and the ceviche was fresh and a surprisingly large portion. This ended up being our favorite spot of the night. We will definitely be back to try the secret bar!

This is a nice, modern looking restaurant located in Santana Row directly accross the Jardin. Open space indoor seating with a classy but hip and modern vibe inside.the natural wood design look and accents of earthy greens throughout the rrstaurant really give that chill feel. Parking is close by walking distance in the garage. Wait staff is attentive and nice. I ordered togo and the hostess was very helpfull to my order. Cost is not too pricey for what it is

We came here with a big party of 15 people. My biggest compliment is the service. From the woman at the front door taking people to their tables to the waiters to the team cleaning the table the service was the BEST. I never had to raise my hand for anything. If you start looking around for someone they will come right away to get you what you need. Sometimes the service alone will get me to comeback to the restaurant. However that was not the only bright spot. The Paella's were very very delicious. I am setting it apart to say the seafood items got me hooked. The seafood paella and the ceviche are so so delicious and a must try. The specialty cocktails were a change of pace because they had some I had never heard or tried, they were definitely a taste from the Peru/Spain motherlands. The atmosphere was another great positive, the music was great with the Latino beats, and the bars and tables were nice and beautiful. In the end this is a great spot for dates, big groups and or the family.

Tucked away by Cinemark and the NetApp office is Suspiro, an aesthetically pleasing, Instagram-worthy Spanish and Peruvian tapas place. I wasn't sure what to expect, but their food was excellent. We ordered the empanadas de vegetales, croquetas de jamon, lomo saltado, papas bravas, squid ink paella, and cocktails: Poncho and an espresso martini. Everything came out super fast, and the empanadas and croquetas were to die for. I would've ordered more of the croquetas had I still had room for it. Our server was excellent at checking in on us throughout the night and allowing us to enjoy ourselves without feeling rushed. She recommended we check out their speakeasy in the back after dinner: S Bar. Absolutely loved the entire concept, the decor, good music (heard many tracks by singer Miguel come on) and the fact that they had a completely different drink menu from the main restaurant. The food was a little pricey, but nothing you wouldn't expect from a fancier tapas spot. Nevertheless, I would come back here again!

This place is amazing. Both the food and service are top-tier, and it's always a good time with friends. The drinks are also delicious! The paella, ceviche, empanadas, and chicken croquettes stood out to me the most, but everything else was great too. The presentation is so appetizing, you can't help but take pictures of it.

Carpaccio de Ternera
Kristen B.

Overall, this was a bit of a mixed experience for me - some positives, but also a few things that made it hard to justify the price point (at least based on the lunch menu). First, service was very kind. The heater wasn't working inside while we were there, but they offered to bring me a blanket, which actually helped a lot. Food-wise, it was more mixed. The Ensalada Barcelona was actually quite good - fresh, well-balanced, and probably my favorite thing we ordered. The mocktails were also good, though on the sweeter side. If you like a sweeter drink, you'll probably enjoy them, but I personally would have preferred a little more balance. Unfortunately, the carpaccio de ternera was a miss for me. I rarely leave food unfinished, but I couldn't finish this one. It just tasted bad. The pan con tomate also surprised me - it was essentially a light tomato sauce on toasted bread, which felt a bit underwhelming for the price point. At the end of the day, for the price, I was hoping for a bit more depth. To be fair, I've only tried the lunch menu, so dinner may be a different experience. But based on this visit, it felt overpriced for what we received. Kind service and a couple bright spots, but not somewhere I'm rushing back to.

I was at SR with some friends during SB week. Never realized that Suspiro had opened and the place looked so nice! Purely because of the aesthetics, we decided to eat here. Our server was super nice. I didn't get his name, but he was kind and attentive. We got a bunch of different things which were all enjoyable. Take a look at the pictures I've attached. The croquettes were my favorite followed by the paella!

The ambiance is beautiful and welcoming, and your team truly sets the tone -- friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. It makes such a difference and keeps us coming back. We've always enjoyed the food -- I especially love the pan-roasted chicken, it's just lovely. And every time I have the burger, it takes me right back to France, where I lived for over 17 years in the south. That kind of authenticity is hard to find and so appreciated. What makes it even more special is that my husband occasionally gets to converse in French with some of your staff -- which he absolutely loves. It adds such a personal and authentic touch to the experience. For our wedding anniversary last year, your staff really went above and beyond to take care of us. We had such a wonderful night, and it's a memory we truly cherish. This is one of those places we feel confident recommending to anyone. The regular menu is also very limited, so I went for the cheeseburger. My Left Bank Cheeseburger was overcooked, smothered in arugula, and the top bun was almost too hard to bite. My partner had the lemon linguini which was much too rich and saucy. Also, the outdoor seating was in between two live musicians that night, which is no fault of the restaurant, but took away from the experience. The service was fine, however, and attentive enough.

I think traditionally, you need reservations for Cielo, but their Winter Experience (ran through December and mid-January) is first-come, first-served. The Winter Experience is a Christmas-themed set-up - very tastefully and beautifully decorated - with Christmas music (even 2 weeks after the New Year). the tables along the edge have small in-table fire pits AND a tall heated furnace - you will not be cold in December. these tables do require a minimum spend of $50 per person, which we came into this expecting that regardless - however, it sounds like you can sit at any of the other tables without this minimum spend, though you will only have a blanket for warmth. the sunset was beautiful, though keep in mind that we do live in a city, and there are other tall buildings around, so don't set your expectations too high. Overall, we are so happy we finally checked this place out, and that we were able to do so during the Winter Experience. We did find it overpriced (considering it's at Hotel Valencia... we weren't surprised) for what you get. I tried one cocktail (~$20) that tasted like a flavored soda, before switching to wine; my husband had 2 Old Fashioned, they were both made differently but both good. The food was good - small, shareable portions. We're happy to have finally stopped in, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come again. HOW TO GET THERE: enter Hotel Valencia from the ground floor; take the elevator to Floor 3; go straight down the hall, pass the front desk on your left, to the second set of elevators; take that to the top floor
