We have recently been trying all of the empanada restaurants in the area and this third one is definitely my favorite. I love the vibe of it. They have a large selection compared to other places. I ended up getting the turkey and cranberry and John got the Hawaiian. But the Hawaiian is the one to get! So good. However, I love a good Hawaiian pizza so take that into consideration. I also got the lentil soup that came with my combo and I loved it. I would have been happy with just the soup. Very tasty. If you dine outside, they have a place you can recycle your trash inside.

Just yummy! We got assorted empanadas today from sweet savory. Guava, cheese, beef, and turkey. Two sizes small and large. The small is still shareable and the large for sure good for two people. The love the crust nice and flaky not dried at all. I took it home and popped it in air fryer to warm. There is just so much filling inside. There is no skimping on filling here. Then there's the cheese tart one. It was straight out PV the oven and just so good. Not the overwhelming melting cheese. I can't explain it you just have to try it. Then there's the guava roll, yummy! Good thing it's a bit of a drive from me. Otherwise I'd be there weekly

I tried both the beef and potato empanada and chicken empanada. While both were really delicious, the beef and potato empanada were my favorite. The outer layer was perfectly flaky and crisp, and the filling was hearty and well seasoned. Each empanada comes with a side of aji verde, which is a Colombian green sauce. It amplifies the flavor and takes the empanadas to the next level. It adds a bright and slight kick that makes every bite better. I also grabbed a Postobon Manzana, which was okay and tasted like an apple soda. There's no indoor dining since the space is small, but there are a couple tables available outside. Customer service was solid, and plenty of parking. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you're craving empanadas!

I wanted to love this place and their massive empanadas. There are so many options, but because the empanadas are so big, I just went with two (turkey and beef). Both were good, with a flaky outer layer; fillings were hearty, but just average-tasting. Possibly, it's because they're pre-made and heated up. It's counter service, with very few seating options, all outside.

Milohas is such a gem for Colombian food. The menu is full of traditional options, especially empanadas and soups, and they truly do them so well. The empanadas are impeccable, stuffed to the brim with meat and fillings, super flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The sauces (both mild and spicy) are absolutely delicious and take everything up another level. The space itself is clean and simple. There's no indoor seating, but they do have patio seating available, which works well for a quick stop. Service was great, friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Everything came out quickly, hot, and ready to enjoy. I ordered the Colombian iced coffee and it was so smooth and flavorful, no harsh aftertaste like you sometimes get with bigger chains. I also had the chicken and potato empanada, and it did not disappoint, packed with filling and full of flavor in every bite. Fair pricing, great quality, and definitely a spot I'd come back to when I'm craving something quick but really satisfying.

What a wonderful hidden gem. Milohas offers authentic columbian empanadas, columbian breakfast, coffees and desserts. I stopped by on my way home for a small bite and to pick up some empanadas and desserts to take home. Their empanadas are amazing. I bought the ham and egg, chicken & potato and beef & potato to take home. I also got their famous Milohas dessert. It's my favorite. The young lady helping was so sweet. She packaged all my empanadas and labeled the box with type of empanada in it. She also wrote down instructions on the best way to warm them up at home. I also got a cheese arepa that she warmed up for me. It's delicious. The have some seating out front if you want to eat there. All their columbian pastries are nicely displayed in their glass cases.

Had some delicious empanadas here yesterday. Dough was soft and flavorful with crispy edges. We tried both the mushroom quoina and the spinach and cheese empanada, with the latter being significantly better. Service was okay and was pretty slow to heat up our food. However, I will definitely return and try some new empanadas! There was also Colombia coffee which sounds like a real treat.

Truly a hidden gem Milohas is located it in a spacious plaza with many other shops. I usually shop at the Petco in that plaza since it's near home and after a while I realized Milohas was located in that same plaza as well. Service was prompt and friendly. They're known for their delicious empanadas and it did not disappoint. The empanadas come in a small or large size and the small is pretty big to me already. I ordered their combo 3 which came with a small beef empanada, guava finger pastry, salad, and soup. The beef empanada was paired with the green Aji sauce which added a zesty and herby flavor. I opted for the spring salad which was spring mix with cheese and guava dressing. The chicken & rice soup was packed with flavor. I will definitely be coming back!

I was on a recent empanada kick and ended up at Milohas as my last of 3 stops. This spot had the largest variety of empanadas and the most unique flavors like turkey and cranberry, Hawaiian, and pizza. They of course also had a lot of the more traditional flavors as well as dessert options. I loved that the dough here was more of a flaky puff pastry/croissant-like texture. Of the three spots this was the first that had this type of dough and it was by far my favorite. We ordered the Hawaiian, beef and potato, and spinach and cheese empanadas. The beef and potato was mine and my boyfriends favorite, then I liked the Hawaiian as my second and the spinach and cheese for him. The service was friendly and they were happy to share recommendations to help us make a pick from the big variety! Would definitely come back here!

We visited during the weekend and there's plenty of parking. I ordered the chicken empanada which was good and better with the sauce; I think it needed more flavor/salt 4/5. My fiancé ordered the beef empanada which was really good and flavorful 5/5. He also ordered the Milohas dessert which was good, crispy, and not too sweet overall but a little sweet from the dulce de leche 4/5. The guava drink I ordered was sweet and tropical; I really enjoyed it 5/5! My fiancé ordered an iced coffee which he said was 5/5! We dined outside and it was a pleasant experience. The staff was attentive and helped us right away. The ambiance was clean and lively.

I LOVE empanadas and I was super excited to try Milohas when it popped up on Yelp! I was able to try a few of their empanadas, including the beef, chicken, and spinach & cheese. Unfortunately, none of them really stood out to me. The beef was spiced nicely, but the chicken was a bit dry. I also had high hopes for the spinach & cheese, but the cheese was just a bit too sharp and overpowering for my taste.

Less ice cream options nowadays. I used to go here all the time when there were more choices. Now, even the empanadas are giving me the nada

Empanada Bliss Milohas is a bakery GEM Located in an unassuming strip mall by Pet Mart, Milohas is a complete bakery serving sweet and savory pasties as well as hot and cold drinks I'd been wanting to visit forever and found myself with some time one morning to swing by The empanadas are the most popular item although the sweet baked good and multiple cheese breads looked delicious as well I decided to heat one to eat there and bought several home to share. After finishing the generous sized ham and cheese empanada, I instinctively went to the box to have another (they're that great). I realized it was cold and restrained myself The empanadas are soft, flaky and filled with generous tasty flavorings. It's reset all my expectations of what an empanadas can be after a very disappointing experience at the oft-cited Argentinian empanadas in SF's Ferry Building - SF has nothing on SJ and Milohas! Empanadas $6.75 ~ Meat, Small or Vegetarian, Small ~ Ham & Cheese, Cheese, Chicken, Beef / Cheese Breads $5.75 / Guava Finger $2.50 Milohas (San Jose, CA) Limited outdoor seating is available although mainly take out. Credit cards accepted.

Are your gluten free items fried in a separate fryer?

Hi Connie - yes, it’s a dedicated fryer BUT we still produce all of our wheat-based products in the same kitchen so there is always some risk of cross-contamination despite all the precautions we take.

Does your pastry dough have any lard or pork in them?

The empanada dough does not contain lard or pork products. They contain real butter.

Do you offer dessert empanadas? Like any that only have fruit fillings?

They have Guava fingers that are amazing. Also have pineapple and apple filled empanadas. Even some fruit and cheese combinations I think. Have tried the all fruit filling and Guava Fingers are my favorite.

What type of gluten free things do you guys have?

We have wheat-free cheese breads as well as fried chicken and beef empanadas (the dough is made out of corn). Please note that even though we follow procedures to avoid cross contamination, we do not have a dedicated kitchen for gluten-free… Read more

Do your empanadas contain any Dairy? Which ones are dairy-free?

Hi Marissa - all of our baked empanadas contain butter. The fried empanadas, which we make to order, have a corn-based shell which does not contain any dairy. Those are only available with beef and chicken fillings (also dairy-free).

Do you have vegetarian Columbian tamales?

Hi Kenneth, we currently don’t offer vegetarian tamales.

Is lard used in the empanada dough?

No, no lard is used in the empanada dough.

How does your curbside pickup work? Do I call ahead to place order, then call you when I arrive and you bring the order out to my car?

Please call us at least 10-15 min ahead and place your order. You can also place online at www.milohaspastries.com/online-store. When you get to our parking lot, please call us so we can bring the order out to you.

Are employees wearing masks and gloves?

Yes , they are following the Santa Clara County protocol wearing masks and gloves and keeping the 6 feet social distance as well .
