I went with my wife to try a Columbian restaurant-La Bendicion Restaurant and Bar at 1712 S Winchester Blvd, Campbell, CA 95008 It was a nice place but with a very simple interior with bakery and BBQ smells. It does have full table service, which I really liked. Our server was very nice and helped us select our meal. We had beef ribs and pork ribs which were very good. The plantaines, white rice (exceptionally good), salad with avocado, and sauces. We finished our meal with in house fresh bakery items, which were really outstanding (See Pictures). Overall, the meal we ordered was pretty good, except for the plantains, which were hard, dry, and inedible (possibly not fresh made-was kept under a heat lamp). This restaurant may not be suitable for families, as it is also a sports bar with big screen TV's, loud music and geared for adults. The price point was fairly high as compared to other restaurants I have visited. Our bill for 2 dinners, 2 soft drinks, 2 desserts was $95 before tip. The restaurant was well maintained and clean. There are not too many Colombian restaurants in this area, but this one is worth a try. We went on a Friday night, and it was very quiet. There was only one waitress, but she had difficulty managing only two tables. The food was very good though-the empanadas and the steak and fries were excellent. I was sort of surprised that the waitress spoke no English, which could be a problem unless you bring some to interpret for you. She also was very slow at the end, and it took a long time for us to get to-go boxes and the bill. They either need more help or some additional training for her. I visited on Sunday, 7/6/25, around 2 PM with my lady friend. We placed our order, and about five minutes later, the waiter came back to let me know they didn't have what I ordered. No big deal -- I chose something else instead. About 20 minutes later, they brought out my companion's food, but it took another 30 minutes for the waiter to come back and tell me they didn't have the ingredients for my second order either. Instead of asking me what I'd like instead, they just brought me a plate of chicken covered in a pile of cheese -- and it was terrible. AVOID AVOID AVOID! Food is terrible, they will cheat you and overcharge you, and the place is dirty. Like other reviewers, we've had a couple of experiences of being charged more than the price listed on the menu for food, as well as them wanting to charge more for paying by credit card with no disclosure of that on the menu, then wanting to charge more for food to go with no disclosure of a surcharge on the menu . And the latest is that they publish a daily lunch special on social media on the same day and when we get there it doesn't come with all the things listed. I had to demand all things several times. The waitress kept saying "oh that doesn't come with it". And when I showed her that days ad, she finally said "let me talk to the owner" and never addressed it or brought the items until I demanded several more times. Not a pleasant experience at all. To top it off, the food the last time we went was absolutely AWFUL. The rice was clearly reheated day old rice (this is so cheap to make!!) the meat was a tough, vein filled, tough cartilage everywhere half piece (completely inedible), the chicken was pink inside, and the dish was supposed to come with traditional sauce and it came dry as a bone, bare potatoes dry everything. Really horrible. Another dish was a steak that was also just disgusting. Took it home to the dog. Then we get the check with yet again another attempt to over charge because "the menu is not updated." These people cheat. They will overcharge you. Very sorry for all other Colombians who are honest and hardworking to be so misrepresented by this bad establishment. We spoke to the man owner at the end and told him about the problem with the misrepresented price on the menu, he said it was STILL outdated (we got the same story several months back). So take a pen and fix it! Or better yet, stop cheating people. And I told him about the social media ad of that day and he said "the publisher made a mistake". No apology, no discount; nothing. Terrible customer service. Not returning ever again and posting this to save you readers the trouble, and for public notice of our experience. There is no receipt given for payment. There are many other Colombian restaurants in the San Jose area who bring their delicious flavors of their country and not corrupt practices. Try those instead and skip this one. Get the authentic tourist-in-Colombia experience here! Great food and then get overcharged for the pleasure. I asked for water and was given a bottle of San Pellegrino. Later, we were overcharged over 30% and not given an itemized receipt. The server uses the language barrier to rip you off to the fullest extent. me and my wife love this place. the place was very clean and the waitress was very attentive when we walked in. we came in because we wanted to try happy hour at the former known restaurant lo que pueda because we never tried it but now that they changed the name to la bendición and the service we were much happier . we ordered the churrasco steak with platanos and a tropical salad and we also tried the lulo and the empanadas and arepas . everything was really good !!! we ordered two big plates two appetizers and a soup and walked out paying $75 with a included tip . they will give you a discount if you pay cash i think and they might charge a little extra if you order to go and dont dine in but overall this place is well worth the quality of food and the pricing was impressive , 5 star restaurant !!!! highly recommend eating here if your really hungry read more

Food was okay, waitress was extremely nice, great service, and was very quick working on her own. The man at the front who I believe is the owner is what I am giving a one star rating. This man kept staring at my husband and I as we ate the entire time we were there which is extremely uncomfortable. The prices are much more expensive than where we usually go with less food. When I was ready to pay, they did not inform they would charge me more when using my card. We will not be returning. This place is a scam and the owner is overcharging without letting their customers know. Legally customers should be aware that they will be an extra charge to use cards which I can confidently say because I worked in customer service as well as book keeping. If you want to keep your customers, lower your prices or make the customers aware that they will be charged extra when using their card. I recommend visiting "Fonda Colombiana" they have cheaper prices for more food and better quality. read more
