I ordered two fish tacos. This is the first place I've gone to that has options for the fish tacos (tilapia, salmon, red snapper, breaded tilapia or shrimp). I ordered one taco with breaded tilapia and one taco with salmon. For those with dairy allergies or lactose intolerance, the orange sauce does contain crema. The other sauces did not contain dairy. The chips and salsa were only $2 and came with a spicy salsa (not pico de gallo). I was able to order a small side of pico de gallo for about $1!! read more

Today I was stuck at home with a sick pup, but I still ordered DoorDash and wanted to try something new. This was the first time I had ever tried food from this restaurant. I'm not sure how authentic I would call it. I say that because there were black olives in the nacho fries. I ordered one carne asada street taco, an enchilada dinner plate, and carne asada nacho fries. I ordered a lot of food with the intention of having leftovers for later. They use quality packaging for their to-go orders. There were no issues there. I was not incredibly impressed with the flavor of the meat. It was just okay. I was not completely dissatisfied by it, but we have a lot of options here in San Jose and I'm unsure that I would order from them again. I cannot speak to the ambiance of the restaurant because I haven't actually set foot in the restaurant itself. This place is very close to my apartment. Another one of those spots that I've driven by thousands of times and always said I needed to try. Many, many years later, I finally got here and am so glad that I did, and of course wished I did sooner! Service was super friendly, we were greeted with a warm welcome before we even got to the counter. Placed our order at the counter and grabbed a table on the patio. They have a nice outdoor patio with a handful of tables and a good amount of seating inside, it was definitely bigger than I expected from seeing it from the street. I got the two fish taco special with grilled tilapia and a my boyfriend fish burrito with breaded tilapia. Both the grilled and breaded fish were fantastic, flaky, and flavorful! I loved that the breading was light and not all greasy and fried tasting. They had 3 different salsa ranging from mild to medium and hot. We also went back and ordered chips and salsa once our food came. Orale? More like Oh, really? The expectation from delicious Mexican cuisine, with an emphasis on fish, made me salivate with anticipation. That anticipation was decimated and slowly changed into bewilderment each passing bite. Taco salads is an amazing and deletable creations, albeit not authentically Mexican at all. I just enjoy the fish because it's an excuse to devour a giant taco as a bowl. However, this particular salad didn't make me want to devour anything. It's the structure of the entire dish, and that structure was ruined! Tasted older than my grandma I visited an hour prior. Firstly it's not a fancy place, but the food and the service more than make up for any lacking in the decor, I come to eat not to have really pretty surroundings. Outside covered dining is available, quite nice. IMO the food is top notch and well presented, I absolutely love their fish tacos, technically shrimp, which are always perfect. I usually lean toward fried fish tacos in the traditional Baja style, but this one was flavorful, well-cooked, and didn't feel dry or heavy. The California burrito is legit. If you're looking for a true SoCal / San Diego-style California burrito with fries inside, this is the move. Just note that it does include avocado, which may or may not be your thing. Beer on tap is a huge plus, with a mix of local options along with Modelo and Pacifico, which pair perfectly with the food. The salsa setup is excellent: Tapatío, green habanero El Yucateco, plus three fresh house-made salsas in squeeze bottles. The orange is mild and creamy, the green is bright and zesty, and the red is smoky with a solid kick--all very good. Service was fantastic, and there's plenty on the menu left to explore. ORANGE SAUCE! But more on that later! I originally stumbled on Orale during my search for a taco salad in the area. Their Taco Salad includes lettuce, beans, cheese, olives, pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, and your choice of protein all in a fried flour tortilla bowl. My only request would be for them to include rice in it as well! For the protein, I really like that you can choose a meat even a fish! Meat options include carne asada, grilled chicken, shredded chicken, carnitas, and chile verde. Fish options include tilapia, salmon, red snapper, and breaded cod. I opted for the red snapper to try something different and enjoyed it! I tried some of the Meat Chimichanga with chicken too, and this was good! It was a pretty decent sized burrito with rice, cheese, refried beans, and meat in a fried flour tortilla with sour cream, pico, and guac on top. Now for the sauces! They have squeeze bottles of their three different sauces in the fridge in the dining area. You can grab your own to use, or you can fill a mini plastic containers to add to your to-go order. They have a red, orange, and green sauce. The green sauce has a little more of a kick than the other two, but my favorite was definitely the orange sauce! Adds such great flavor!! Parking lot is shared with a couple other businesses, but I didn't have any trouble finding a spot on a Friday evening. You place your order at the counter, and they'll give you a number to place on your table. Seat yourself, either indoors or on their outdoor patio, and someone will bring your food to you. They have plastic utensils on the counter, but I think that's for to-go orders only, since when we were brought out food, they also brought us metal utensils and napkins. Orale is next to my barbershop, so decided to stop by for a quick lunch. I ordered a California Burrito. Its been awhile since I've had one and I completely forgot that it meant fries replaced the rice haha. Nonetheless, it was pretty good. Salsas were good. Service was fast and friendly and prices were real reasonable. I got the cheese enchilada plate. I didn't love the enchiladas though. The sauce was way too tomato-y (and I usually love red sauce too but just tasted like tomato sauce), and they were lukewarm (I generally don't ask for things to be reheated since experiences has been they just microwave them lol). The cheese sprinkled on top wasn't even melted. The beans were pretty good, could have used more cheese. The rice was fluffy, not super flavorful but okay. Chips were just okay as well, tasted a bit dry. Salsa was pretty good. Believe they were $1.99 (not free here FYI). read more

We went prior to check out the food and restaurant and it's a great location and food is top notch. They catered for 60 and 75 people ended up showing up and every single person was fed and let me know how great the food was. The food was hot and brought it actual chafing dishes with stereos and not just the foil pans. I feel he charged a fair price and they so very kind and helpful as well. Came here on a whim after a hike. It's a quaint restaurant that reminds me of a diner that truckers would visit as a pitstop- very vintage. Both the indoor and outdoor seating options are small and limited, and their bathrooms are single-occupancy rooms that are attached to the side of the building and require a key (with a ruler? attached to it). I shared two taco fish tacos (Red Snapper, Breaded Halibut) and a California burrito with my boyfriend. The fish tacos were ok, they mainly comprised of the shredded lettuce, and the taco shells ended up soggy. Remedies to this are adding more fish to the tacos and heating the taco shells on a pan or something. The California burrito was good though on the small side. They have three different sauces kept in the fridge which are good, and I recommend the orange sauce. read more

I had driven past this place so many times and wanted to give it a try for their fish tacos. I ordered a 2 fish tacos meal with breaded halibut to go. The man at the counter was really nice and we received our to go order in about ten minutes. He gave us some extra sauces too. When I got home and opened my meal, I was shocked. The fish in my taco was a tiny thin hard piece of so called halibut. I ate it and it was super crunchy and all batter. I honestly didn't even get any fish was eating fried batter, tortilla, and cabbage. It was such a disappointment and a complete waste of money. The whole thing even gave me a stomach ache. My husbands fish burrito had the same issue and he was really dissatisfied. This establishment shouldn't be giving their customers this- it's so terrible. I really hope they fix this issue. Came here while looking for some Taco Tuesday Specials, and didn't quite find them...but I was happy enough to find another place that offered pretty good Mexican food. I didn't quite know what to order, so the lady at the counter said that their fish tacos were probably the most popular. Something to take note of though, is that they're not that big. They were a little bit more pricey than I would have liked, but I think that's also because I'm used to cheaper prices of Mexican food down in San Diego. But the quality of the tacos were pretty good, and I ordered a couple of other meat tacos. They put all of the tacos in the same to-go box which was fine, but you may need to watch out for that, in case you are sharing tacos with a more strict vegetarian. I'll probably come back to check out their burritos and see what the quality is like. But I did appreciate all of the ingredients that they put into the tacos, even though they weren't that big. The ingredients all tasted fresh and were very flavorful too. My only complaint is the price and the size. Other than that, they were pretty good! Nice vibes with outdoor seating, cozy indoor seating where a dad was playing chess with his daughter in one of the booths. Service was very friendly. The food was great too! I had the salmon burrito.
