Came here recently, the food and service were great. We would definitely come back. Only issue was the drink menu. We ordered 2 margaritas however there was no price listed? Figured it should be maybe $8-10 for house margaritas but I think we were charged $15 each? Not sure because the total did not have the individual prices. To the owner can you please list the prices for them on the menu? They were good but to be honest to ask for the price for an unlisted drink price is tacky in front of other people. If I'd have know the price would maybe have considered something else. Every other place I've been has prices for everything clearly on the menu. Thanks. read more

I was desperately craving enchiladas and didn't want to battle commuter traffic, so I opted for Casa Lupe since it was nearby. I came here once, probably 15 years ago, so thought it was about time to give them another try. I didn't love it when I had it in the past, but they have a pretty big following so I thought it might've just been the item I got. I called ahead and placed my order to go, arrived about 10 minutes later and had to wait about two minutes for my food. The service was extremely warm and friendly from everyone I interacted with. This made me super optimistic and hopeful that I would love the food. Sadly, that was not the case. On a positive note, the portion of the enchilada meal was quite large, and they did include chips and salsa with my to go order. On a not so positive note, the food was kind of cold. I started eating it within 7-8 minutes of being handed the meal, so I was expecting it to be piping hot, but that was just not the case. Didn't like the flavor of the salsa, and the chicken in one of the enchiladas was pretty dry. Luckily the second enchilada I ate was better, that chicken was nice and tender, but very inconsistent between the two. With so much great Mexican food in the area, I don't think I will be coming back here, and if I do, it'll probably be in another 15+ years. read more

5 stars for their chicken mole, but their tacos are below average. So, just go for the mole. Drink prices are on the high side and I don't remember seeing the prices on the menu. The special homemade sangria is bomb. I think it's $12 a glass. Worth it!! Website prices are not updated. I will continue to go for that sangria and mole! Both of them get five stars, but I give four stars overall because some of the other food items weren't as good and the beans were kind of thick and not as hot as I prefer. I used to be a fan of this place but not anymore. I went by myself with my baby in a stroller, the restaurant was almost empty and no one helped me with the door coming in. It's not the easiest door to open especially with a stroller. I had to ask for the check twice. The person who brought my food and was helping the waiter was more friendly and helpful than my actual waiter. Then again when leaving no help at all. I love this place! Been coming here for many years and thought I'd finally write a rave review! Had lunch here today! It was a chicken enchilada and it was tasty! Very yummy!! My clients had the deluxe burrito and the other had the taco, enchilada combo. Everyone loved their food! The service has always been spot on at this place. Always happy and smiling and very attentive! The ambiance is very comfortable! Sitting here eating delicious food and having wonderful drink would be a great way to pass the day! Hey there Party People Been looking for a good old fashion traditional Mexican place and I have finally found it. It's a great local joint that has a nice touch of traditional decor. I am a bit of a Spanish rice snob but I have to say this place gets a 9 out of 10 from me and that's high praise. I had the steak fajitas and the meat was so tender you could cut it with a fork. The marinade was very slightly sweet with a tang of vinegar that was really great. My Hubby did a combo plate consisting of a Chicken Taco, chicken Tostada and a carnitas Burrito. He really loved the carnitas the verde sauce was on point. His only negative was that the Chicken was slightly under seasoned. The portions were large and the chips and Salsa was FREE. Came on a tuesday night for dinner, the place doesn't have a lot of parking and the spots were all taken. The neighborhood nearby is resident parking only, so you need to find a spot on the street. The place was packed, and I feel like they were really understaffed, service was very slow, but they were all friendly and doing their best. We got chips and (very spicy) salsa as soon as we sat down. I had the chicken enchiladas suizas which was pretty bland. The plate itself was super hot, I touched it to adjust it and I nearly burnt myself. You should not serve a plate this hot to a customer, regardless of saying 'careful it is hot', I've never had anything like this ever. Doubt I'll be back. read more

I wish I could give this place a good review but I can't. Our last to go order from here, when we got home I found I had a long curly hair in my food. When I found this we immediately called the restaurant to inform them. Al said he would take care of us our next visit. We were hesitant to go again given the unsanitary practice we experienced prior, but we did. We ordered 3 dinners in fact. Two dinners with a price of $20.95 a piece and one dinner with a price of $20.75. Al said he would comp one meal. That would bring us to a total of 41.90 for two dinners. With tax that brings us to about what, $45? How did we end up with a total of $70? We did not feel like arguing further, so we just paid it. But this is very concerning. It makes me wonder how many folks are being secretly up charged like this and taken advantage of when they are being told they will be taken care of. And this is supposed to be a family run/owned business? We will be informing the businesses we work with as well to not return here on their weekly visits so they do not also get scammed and treated poorly. read more

This food was BEYOND delicious. I came here a while back with my sister and my dad and we all loved everything we ate. I got the chicken enchiladas verde which were probably some of the best enchiladas I've ever eaten. My dad got the same ones but with beef, which weren't as good as the chicken but still really tasty. My sister got the taquitos which were amazing as well. The ambiance of the restaurant was gorgeous and the decor was beautiful. Stopped by on a rainy Tuesday night and the food was delicious! It wasn't too crowded and there were couples, families, and folks of all ages present. The decor above the tables, bar seating, and booths provides a cozy, authentic, and clean atmosphere. The service is attentive and kind, the salsas are delicious (one spicy, one smokey), and the portions are hefty. It's a family run establishment and folks make you feel like you're a regular even when you're not! I had #20: tacos with Mexican steak and swapped the pinto beans for refried beans. The guac portion was god-tier and the texture of the tortillas was ideal. The food was piping hot and the rice was some of the best Mexican rice I've had in the area. I had a great experience here with my friends on Friday night. We were craving enchiladas and wanted to find a small, authentic Mexican restaurant. Once we entered, we right away were happy with our decision to come here. The authentic decor and the ambiance was exactly what we needed and felt very familial and homey. The waiter was really nice as he brought chips and salsa and even guacamole upon arrival. We all ordered some version of an enchilada plate and the portion size was huge and flavors were great as well. I enjoyed my meal and will definitely be returning! read more

Service was slow, came to take our drink order but didn't take our food order. Chips were stale and hard. Food came out quickly but was overly salty. The beef enchiladas were hamburger meat? Who does that? Restaurant is loud, hard to hear across the table from each other. This place used to be good, but its been getting worse every time we go back and I think this was the last time we can stomach it. Also the parking sucks. They took no care in preparation for one of our party members who have a gluten allergy, even though it was noted at the time we ordered. Due to their ignorance and lack of attention, she became extremely sick and has all the symptoms of cross contamination and gluten exposure. This was drawn first for my partner, and I's random restaurant Tuesdays in 2024. I was initially quite excited, because I saw that the parking lot was entirely full and to me that indicates a sign of a good quality restaurant that's well liked by the locals. The excitement continued as we entered the restaurant, as the bright and vibrant interior really set the scene to make me feel like I was going to enjoy my experience. I ordered the three enchiladas plate, when my food arrived the plate was so hot. I actually burned my pinky on the plate. This is definitely my fault as the waiter said the plate was hot, but I can't remember the last time I had a plate that was so hot when I Got it. The food was enjoyable but unfortunately it took a while for us to get our check because I think they were understaffed so I don't blame our particular server. I have been to this resataurant 3 times and each time it gets worse. I am done going there. Their margaritas are premade, I asked our server what the difference between the normal margaritas and the cadilac was and he said they just add some more tequilla. Not acceptable. Also the chips were stail and our food came out within 10 minutes of ordering. How can you make fresh food in that short of time. Lousy food and it seems management agrees with the quality of food. Nothing seemed fresh, they are more worried about getting you off your table quickly than giving you a quality meal. Dont go there. read more

The only good thing they have are the house margaritas. The food was not impressive at all. The guacamole is really expensive and has no flavor. It's literally a smashed avocado with a tiny spoonful of pico on top.  I ordered a combo (taco, chile relleno & enchilada verde). The taco purely tasted of tomato, the green sauce wasn't a pleasant taste but the chile relleno was decent. The meat in the enchilada was incredibly greasy.  My fiance ordered a burrito with carne asada. It was predominantly sour cream inside. It was a total disappointment.  Parking is really limited. We got there when the restaurant opened at 5pm and I was lucky enough to get the last open spot. read more

i gotta tell ya, since we lost el burro from the pruneyard, which was our favorite & most frequented family mexican restaurant since 1974, our cravings went unfulfilled. then we found casa lupe on winchester! we don't miss el burro as much now. the food is awesome, delicious, plentiful, & satisfying here! great choices, each choice welcome to repeat. our first visit we had chile verde (omggg!) and chredded beef enchiladas.. both big hits! the sauce was silky, tasty, maybe slightly spicy. fresh chips & 2 salsas, check. yummy favorites found on extensive menu. check. a great experience, soon to be repeated. really good service, easy atmosphere, people having a good time all around. glasses clinking, laughter, ;lots of mmmmmms.... last night was our second visit... my husband especially liked the enchiladas suizas, they're done very well, he says. he adds they equalled el burro! i found the 2 item platter appealling so i had 1 ground beef tostada (omg excellent, and 1 pork tamal.. like perfect! the pico de gallo is tasty & not too hot, the othere salsa was fiery. fresh made crispy tortilla chips. we choose refried beans, oh so creamy! the rice was fluffy & just right, too. little salad on the side w/guacamole and what a completely delicious & like i said completely satisfying experience. thank you, casa lupe! i have not stopped thinking about & wanting more of those ground beef tostadas! the flavor of the ground beef was authentic & unforgettable. it was not real expensive, either, more than fair we thought for the quality, flavors, portions and general goodness. its what we like, we hope you try it soon. ole! read more

Nothing about their food is authentic. It is extremely salty and flavorless. I've tried their tamales, beans, rice and other plates because my family had catered from there and it was horrible. Tamales tasted old and were hard. Their beans tasted as if they were canned beans and rice was mushy. This is probably the worst mexican food I've had out. DO NOT COME HERE, AVOID AT ALL COST. I have eaten here twice. Food is underwhelming. Nothing to write home about. I wouldn't say the flavors are bad but anyone could cook any of the items we ordered. Not sure why people like this place. Speaking of people, there is not enough parking in the restaurant lot and I've seen customers park on the next street over blocking driveways, then walk over into the restaurant. Rice and beans are very important in a Mexican restaurant and I thought these were really good. They have odd opening closing times so make sure you come when they are open. I thought that the taco salad was kinda eh. The wait was really long and I was the only person here. They are revamping the shopping center while the outside was nice the inside is dated.
