    Chicken & Steak Fajitas

Came here for a club dinner. Place was packed. Service was meh. When we decided to split fajitas and while it came out fast, we had to ask for plates, tortillas, etc. Food was good, but never once asked about refills.

Hey there Party People Been looking for a good old fashion traditional Mexican place and I have finally found it. It's a great local joint that has a nice touch of traditional decor. I am a bit of a Spanish rice snob but I have to say this place gets a 9 out of 10 from me and that's high praise. I had the steak fajitas and the meat was so tender you could cut it with a fork. The marinade was very slightly sweet with a tang of vinegar that was really great. My Hubby did a combo plate consisting of a Chicken Taco, chicken Tostada and a carnitas Burrito. He really loved the carnitas the verde sauce was on point. His only negative was that the Chicken was slightly under seasoned. The portions were large and the chips and Salsa was FREE. I know...I was shocked too. I'll be coming to this place often Be kind to one another

    Chicken enchiladas suizas

Came on a tuesday night for dinner, the place doesn't have a lot of parking and the spots were all taken. The neighborhood nearby is resident parking only, so you need to find a spot on the street. The place was packed, and I feel like they were really understaffed, service was very slow, but they were all friendly and doing their best. We got chips and (very spicy) salsa as soon as we sat down. I had the chicken enchiladas suizas which was pretty bland. The plate itself was super hot, I touched it to adjust it and I nearly burnt myself. You should not serve a plate this hot to a customer, regardless of saying 'careful it is hot', I've never had anything like this ever. Doubt I'll be back.

Chicken mole and the service are fantastic. Nice cold beer, too. Great spot. Great for families.

#20 tacos with Mexican steak and sub refried beans

Stopped by on a rainy Tuesday night and the food was delicious! It wasn't too crowded and there were couples, families, and folks of all ages present. The decor above the tables, bar seating, and booths provides a cozy, authentic, and clean atmosphere. The service is attentive and kind, the salsas are delicious (one spicy, one smokey), and the portions are hefty. It's a family run establishment and folks make you feel like you're a regular even when you're not! I had #20: tacos with Mexican steak and swapped the pinto beans for refried beans. The guac portion was god-tier and the texture of the tortillas was ideal. The food was piping hot and the rice was some of the best Mexican rice I've had in the area. While they have a full bar and plenty of options for lunch and dinner -- as other reviewers have shared, the prices are quite steep -- buy I'd still say it's 4+ stars.

Talk about authentic! This place has it all. I come here often with the family & it never seems to disappoint. I'm big on fajitas and tried the shrimp fajitas with of course, the mango margarita. Yes Yes Yes! See you soon Casa Lupe!

Plenty of parking available since the restaurant is in a strip mall. It wasn't too busy when we got there, but then it started picking up. There was only one server working and she was really hustling to meet everyone's needs. Plus, she was friendly. I had the carne asada burrito, it was good but nothing over the top that made it stand out. My friend had enchiladas with mole. We were most excited about dessert and decided to share the churros and Tres leches. It was a nice touch that the churros and Tres leches did not come plain, a little pizzazz since they were both served with berries, whipped cream, and a cajeta style sauce. Both of the desserts were so good and a perfect touch of sweetness.

The service is not the best and you have to try hard to catch the servers attention. The food was better this time, but not as good as many other Mexican restaurants. It is not what I consider authentic Mexican food.

Things to love: home made tortilla chips, salsa bar with marinated carrots, good quality carne asada and fountain Diet Coke (and bottled Mexican sodas if that's your thing). We got the carne asada torta and carne asada small super quesadilla -- only minor complaint is that next time I would ask for the sour cream and guacamole on the side of the quesadilla. It was relatively empty, with only one other party seated at the time. Service was friendly and quick, and we got our food pretty quickly after ordering. It's got a quaint hole in the wall kind of vibe, but was still clean - though not very air conditioned. We missed it, but there was a salsa bar in the corner near the entrance. We were served complimentary salsa and chips - nice refreshing, tomatoey and lightly spicy salsa. We also got guacamole, which you could tell was freshly made, chunky and refreshing. Glad we got this, because it helped cut through how heavy the molcajete de mariscos we got was. We were NOT expecting how large the mocajete is - this can probably be split across 3 if not 4 people. It comes out boiling hot, and with 3 tortillas, and a side of beans and rice. When we ordered, they asked us if we would want more tortillas since it comes with only 3 - we didn't even finish the 3 it came with. The sauce was tasty, tomatoey and spicy, and it was chock full of mussels, squid, sooo many shrimp, a whole filet of fried fish, and other goodies - unfortunately most of the seafood was pretty dry/overcooked. It came out to about $60 for the two of us. Overall, the mocajete was fun to try, but I think next time I'd try some tacos or a burrito if I were to come back.

When I tried the food last year, I ordered the Blackened Salmon but asked to have the coleslaw taken out since I don't like it. The cashier didn't mention anything about substitutions at the time, so I only received the fish, mango, and mashed sweet potatoes. While I enjoyed my meal, I wasn't full and figured spending $20 wasn't worth if I wasn't going to get a full meal. What made me come back to Aquis is eating with the same friend who hyped up the place. She told me I could actually get different veggies and try it with the herb sauce. When I did this, it was a game changer!! It was nice that I could enjoy a full meal and the herb sauce is a must every time I dine. It is a creamy, fresh sauce that can be paired with anything. It tasted great with the salmon too. You may be thinking, why not order a different dish if I don't like coleslaw? The thing is, the other dishes here are more of mexican cuisine, and I rather go to an authentic joint. Also, they cook seafood very well! The Blackened Salmon was so good, I actually ate it twice in a row. Funny enough, the worker recognized me from the day before. Aquis is definitely a spot to check out, and they are busy on the weekends!
