Birria tacos w/ consome & Cucumber lime agua Fresca
Trajan P.

I've been here before and had a great experience, however my most recent time was not as great. The prices seem to have gone up and I was served the wrong drink. However, it is still a good restaurant that I would recommend trying. Food: I love their tacos especially the Al Pastor and lengua tacos. I've also had their quesadilla before too which was delicious! I most recently tried their birria tacos with the consome, which was good, but it did fall apart pretty easily and was a bit messier than I would've liked. However, the flavor was still amazing. Service: The service here could use some work. I ordered a horchata and got a cucumber lime drink instead, which was still pretty good, but was t what I asked for. However, I do like that they give complimentary chips and salsa if you eat in the restaurant. Ambiance: the inside is pretty basic with not too much to say about it. Overall, I recommend trying this place. From what I've eaten, they've got very good food with a variety of Mexican dishes. Maybe not the best Mexican food in Los Gatos but definitely worth the visit if you're in the mood for some Mexican food.

Chicken mole, rice, beans, and flour tortillas

Excellent chicken mole dish. Very reasonable price for this part of town. Casual sit down dining experience.

Vegetarian burrito

This place is conveniently across from the DMV, but is not that memorable. FOOD: Food is mediocre. My husband and I both got vegetarian burritos in spinach tortillas with guacamole and sour cream. The sour cream and guacamole were hard to detect, though. SUGGESTIONS: -more veggies in the burrito (there were pretty much none) -more salsa options (while the green salsa was good, the red one was a bit too sweet) SERVICE: service is prompt and friendly!

I haven't been here since the change in ownership. I stopped by for a takeout steak burrito. Very flavorful meat in a soft tortilla. The side salsas really make it tasty. Delicious. They are socially distancing with masks, gloves and are extra clean. Good place for takeout. Friendly staff doing a good job.

Chicken Ranchera

This small taqueria has some inside and outside dining. It was a nice surprise that they offered table service vs ordering at the counter. Our waitress was so helpful, as she offered menu suggestions, told me which meals were too spicy for me and then offered a dish created just for me ! Wow, gotta love that. The meal was tasty and nicely presented. My Chicken Ranchera was delicious and I had to stop myself from eating all of it, as it was a large portion. Once again I was surprised by the servers as they came to check on us and ask if we needed anything. This little place offered more service than some of the nicer restaurants in the area. For a taqueria, this place certainly exceeds expectations.

Birria tacos x4. So tender!
Kayla W.

Awesome and friendly staff and variety in the menu. We tried the birria tacos which were so well marinated and tender - just wish it came with the yummy sauce to dip but I guess our cholesterol appreciated the cleaner version. Cheese enchilada was surprisingly and delightfully garlicky. The carne asada burrito had a great toasted tortilla.

Good food! And conveniently located across from the DMV so if you have to wait for your number you can walk across the street here and order some food. Nice presentation of the food when eating in. Soda comes in fancy vintage glass bottles. Pay at the counter is ok before you head out after dining in. No complaints about the service. Street parking otherwise unless you already parked at the DMV.

Absolutely the best fish and shrimp taco. It's the best taco I've ever had. Hibiscus is super yummy drink! I'll definitely be back!

Absolutely the best fish and shrimp taco I've ever had. The hibiscus drink is also really yummy. You won't be disappointed I highly recommend it.

Chips, mostly burned

We thought we'd try again and grab a quick burrito and tacos on our walk home. The grilled chicken in then was fairly gray and tasteless. Even the shredded chicken wasn't tasty. All of the ingredients just seem like the bare minimum of what it takes to make these staple dishes. And the chips are dry and taste burned. We still wish this was a go to we could frequent, now we're feeling like it's just not worth another try. The last few times our orders were wrong and no one has ever tried to correct anything.

Brilla tacos are the best thing they have

Shrimp burrito did not have any shrimp in it brilla tacos are the only that's good there. Overpriced !

Great small spot for delicious Mexican food. We came across this place while walking and were very pleased to have dinner here. Dulse, our waitress was a very polite lady and help us a lot choosing what to eat. We had beef burritos with sour cream and guacamole and it can say that I can put their burrito to my top three list. They have a beautiful outside sitting area next to street. Joyful Mexican music accompanies your food. Overall, we enjoyed this place very much, will return as soon as possible but this time with the kids! Highly recommend this spot especially those who likes local Mexican food.

Barria Tacos & a great photo that has been down in history for centuries. Love this place. And will always Keep coming back.

Love the food and vibes from the staff. This is once in a lifetime. The food is amazing and the vibes are great. I work down the street from Burton Design & Construction and this is the spot to unwind and have a great meal. Thank you

Food, drinks and staff have always been solid and consistently great but my evening tonight topped it all. After my friend left, I ordered food to go and a drink, went to the bathroom. The bartender was so fast.. but noticed I was alone so she kinda hid my drink until I got back. Then a little later I got sad because of a recent loss of a loved one. I was quiet, calm but this amazing woman noticed and checked on me. ‍ if I didn't love this place enough already, my stars tonight touched my heart. Thank you

I'm down for a place that named their restaurant after a dog. I appreciated that the chip basket wasn't huge - therefore we didn't over eat before our meal came. I ordered iced tea, and unfortunately, it was from the fountain, not fresh brewed, so I asked for a soda instead. This is one of the reasons I docked them 1 star. Salsa was decent, but the chips were a mix of stale and not stale. I am not sure how that happened, but I think they could improve their chips greatly - especially if they are mixing older ones with newer ones. I prefer light crispy thin chips and these were thicker. Food was really good - I had a fish taco and a shrimp taco with rice. My partner had shrimp fajitas. The fajita portion was incredibly generous and my tacos were great. If I came back, I would hold the sauce, because I don't like creamy sauce slathered on my tacos. The rice was the highlight of the meal - it was perfection. The interior of this place is fresh, modern and clean - not something you get very often in a sit-down Mexican restaurant, so I was a huge fan. Service was attentive, even though we were at an odd time, well after lunch but before dinner.

That said, the timing and service were a different story. It was a slow Sunday evening, yet the wait for our food took much longer than expected. Our server was friendly, but when the fajitas arrived, only the shrimp was brought out. The chicken I ordered was forgotten. I politely mentioned it, and when the chicken was brought out, it came out extremely smoky--so much so that our entire table and nearby tables were coughing. It sizzled a bit too aggressively at first, which wasn't very pleasant, though it eventually died down and I was able to enjoy it. For dessert, I ordered the churros. I believed the menu indicated they came with vanilla ice cream, but they were served with whipped cream instead, and the churros themselves were hard rather than soft, which was another disappointment. I'm giving three stars because the food itself was delicious. The experience was just impacted by service delays and a few execution issues.

Truly top of the line service!…read more I came with my dog on a hot day for lunch and not only did I get patio seating and food quickly, but also felt like the servers really made sure we were comfortable, from getting water for my dog to offering to switch my table to get out of the sun. I really was a bother (asking about orange juice which wasn't on the menu, ordering and handing off takeout to a family member down the street before paying...long story) and they were beyond graceful and trusting about it. And of course the food was so comforting to suit the atmosphere. I ordered the Albondigas con Arroz which was like a warm hug - and it came so quick even though it was busy! God forbid if you ask for fish or shrimp tacos, then it's $5 more for a total of $12 each. You probably have to eat about 3-4 to get full.. My son wanted a brunch item and it was 2:09 pm. We asked the waiter (guy), he said they stop serving brunch at 2:00 pm and couldn't care less to make an exception. Same guy, in the midst of our meal, walks out the door as I presume his shift ended. Not a word that he is leaving and some other lady just shows up as if she has been serving us all along. Very weird vibe in this place. Zero stars is all this place deserves. I am baffled how this place stays in business. Definitely a hard pass.
