Solid Mexican food! Cute outdoor patio space (dog friendly) and good service. A classic spot in downtown Los Gatos.

    Here's the guac.

Got an order to go. Guac was brown and smelled. Took back which took some time to return and the woman worker said, "it's fresh, deal with it." Certainly not having a good night. So, just a heads up maybe check the Togo guac.

    Chipotle Shrimp Burrito

I've definitely had better..they were pretty quick with making my food but while I was eating, someone was yelling in the back... the chipotle burrito was OK. I prefer my shrimp to be grilled like on a barbecue and my steak to be square cut pieces and not brisket.. I enjoyed the nachos, but the rest was all right. The only thing was that the nachos chips were burnt and I don't prefer my chips to be that way.

Had not been to this place in many many years. They have now changed it to sit down only, which doesn't match up for a casual spot like this. The food was just OK. It definitely looked better than it tasted and I ate the whole plate because I was hungry, but it wasn't all that much food. It was nice food nothing special. I really didn't want to pay extra to have to tip, but of course I did. My lunch was about $31 for just a mediocre enchilada plate and a Diet Coke, including tip.

Burrito Bowl with Al Pastor meat

My friend and I picked up lunch to go on a Thursday afternoon. It was fairly busy but no wait. The small kitchen restaurant feels too much like a small cafeteria inside. Although they do have some street patio seating. Which I would have opted for vs. the small dining area indoors. But we took ours to the Plaza park across the street. Way better option than anything else. The gentleman at the front taking orders was pleasant and knowledgeable about the recommendations of meats to choose from for my burrito bowl. I chose to go with "Al Pastor", black beans, leafy greens, no rice, Mexican cheese, salsa, jalapeños, and cilantro. My friend chose the crispy steak tacos (order comes with 3). I don't think I'll ever order the burrito bowl again. It was a small serving I side a large plastic bowl. For the price it's not worth it and the meat was so greasy. I could have easily poured out the grease there was so much of it. Since we were at the park, I didn't have anything to pour grease into. My friend said her tacos were ok in flavor and wouldn't order them again. Our meal cost was about $28. Wow! If you want Salsa from their salsa bar, they give you 3 small containers. You're only allowed 3 containers per order. (We ordered together.) Otherwise, they charge for additional containers.

2 Burrito Chipotle (we only ordered 1), Quesadilla Suprema, & breakfast burrito take out. You wont get salsa unless you ask for it.

This is Andale Kitchen, not Andale Restaurant which is across the street. People are checking in and posting pics of the wrong place. Andale Kitchen is tiny with only 5 tables, a kitchen, and no outdoor seating.. If you want to order take-out the Kitchen is the easiest, fastest, & cheapest. If you want to sit down with a group or sit on an outdoor patio then you want to go to the restaurant across the street. We ordered takeout from the Kitchen location and it's okay, not great. They estimated 15 minutes but it was done in 5 so it sat on the counter for a bit before we got there. We ordered the Quesadilla Suprema (only 3 pieces), Burrito Chipotle, & the Breakfast Burrito. My gf said the breakfast burrito was really good. I thought the quesadilla and chipotle burrito were just okay(bland) and needed hot sauce from our fridge for flavor. I put the quesadilla on our comal to brown it & get it crunchy. Nothing came with salsa so be sure to ask for salsa if you want it. Basically our experience was meh... Americanized Mexican food, not our first choice but a lot of people like it. Try it, you might like it too.

    Nachos

*First time review, DoorDash order* Danggg this place is good! My partner didn't feel like going out tonight because of the crazy rain we are having so we DoorDashed. Nachos: 4.5/5 partner ordered nachos with steak (no sour cream) and that's exactly what he got. He said they were sooo good and the steak has lots of flavor. Huge amount for the price too. Will definitely order again. Tortilla soup: 5/5 this is one of the best tortilla soups I've had in forever! I was a bit nervous ordering this for delivery because the tortilla chips would be soggy but they had an option for me to select "on the side". Loaded with so much chicken, fresh avocado slices, the broth was very flavorful and still hot! They also gave me a lot of tortilla strips, no shortage by any means. Can't believe this soup was $12. We are 100% going to order again and dine in next time.

    Beef Grilled Fajitas
    Eric H.

I ordered takeout here for a Wednesday lunch. I got the Grilled Fajitas with steak and Baja Fish Tacos. The steak in the grilled fajitas were pretty good, tender and a little chewy. It went well with the peppers, onions, and guacamole. The rice and beans on the side weren't anything special. The fish tacos needed some work. The fish itself and the salsa were really good, crunchy fish even after ordering it takeout. However the taco shells and other toppings needed improvement. The shells were too weak and easily ripped. It would have been better if they added a second shell so that it has a better chance of staying together, as most other taco places I've tried so. There was also too much red cabbage on the taco, which was overpowering the taste.

    El Presidente Burrito
    Yanira P.

Cute little place in Los Gatos. We stumbled upon it and were pleasantly surprised! Delicious birria tacos and this "El Presidente" burrito. WOW! Amazing presentation. The service was also quick and helpful, as this was our first time. Thank you!

Food, drinks and staff have always been solid and consistently great but my evening tonight topped it all. After my friend left, I ordered food to go and a drink, went to the bathroom. The bartender was so fast.. but noticed I was alone so she kinda hid my drink until I got back. Then a little later I got sad because of a recent loss of a loved one. I was quiet, calm but this amazing woman noticed and checked on me. ‍ if I didn't love this place enough already, my stars tonight touched my heart. Thank you

I'm down for a place that named their restaurant after a dog. I appreciated that the chip basket wasn't huge - therefore we didn't over eat before our meal came. I ordered iced tea, and unfortunately, it was from the fountain, not fresh brewed, so I asked for a soda instead. This is one of the reasons I docked them 1 star. Salsa was decent, but the chips were a mix of stale and not stale. I am not sure how that happened, but I think they could improve their chips greatly - especially if they are mixing older ones with newer ones. I prefer light crispy thin chips and these were thicker. Food was really good - I had a fish taco and a shrimp taco with rice. My partner had shrimp fajitas. The fajita portion was incredibly generous and my tacos were great. If I came back, I would hold the sauce, because I don't like creamy sauce slathered on my tacos. The rice was the highlight of the meal - it was perfection. The interior of this place is fresh, modern and clean - not something you get very often in a sit-down Mexican restaurant, so I was a huge fan. Service was attentive, even though we were at an odd time, well after lunch but before dinner.

That said, the timing and service were a different story. It was a slow Sunday evening, yet the wait for our food took much longer than expected. Our server was friendly, but when the fajitas arrived, only the shrimp was brought out. The chicken I ordered was forgotten. I politely mentioned it, and when the chicken was brought out, it came out extremely smoky--so much so that our entire table and nearby tables were coughing. It sizzled a bit too aggressively at first, which wasn't very pleasant, though it eventually died down and I was able to enjoy it. For dessert, I ordered the churros. I believed the menu indicated they came with vanilla ice cream, but they were served with whipped cream instead, and the churros themselves were hard rather than soft, which was another disappointment. I'm giving three stars because the food itself was delicious. The experience was just impacted by service delays and a few execution issues.
