I had an absolute blows of a time trying Hercules yesterday! This is a nice restaurant which would be perfect for a meal out with friends. There's yummy food and drinks and the service is also great! For food we tried: * queso fundido - this was delicious and came with chips, we ended up adding chorizo to this and it was a great decision! * enchiladas - I got these with chicken with half green sauce and red sauce. This also came with rice and beans and was yummy. Overall my only qualm is that I wish the chicken was more juicy as it was quite dry * churros - we got these for dessert and these were delicious. We absolutely enjoyed these thoroughly as they were filled with a custard like sauce and also came with a chocolate dipping sauce. The churro came piping hot so we really loved it! Overall had a nice experience here!

Love love love this place. The service was excellent from beginning to end. The food was fresh , served hot, and had great flavor. The mole was done perfectly! Spices were blended and melted into the chicken. The enchiladas had 3 different flavors, personally the green salsa and mole were the best. The red salsa was good but I prefer the green. I didn't try the fish tacos but was told they were really good. Had a couple of drinks. Some on the menu and some off, but all were gooood. Definitely will be coming back for drinks and food when I'm not pregnant!

Came here for dinner on Sunday. We sat outside since the weather was nice. Service was friendly, just a tad slow, which wasn't a big deal as we're not in a hurry. It's good that they had trimmed down their menu significantly to 2 pages, under new management. We're always overwhelmed by their menu "book" before. They had a pretty good selection of local draught craft beer. I tried a sip of my husband's Orange You Delicious, which had a nice citrus aroma. I usually didn't care for beer, but this one was pretty easy to drink without the usual strong beer taste, despite its higher alcohol percentage. It was indeed delicious as its name suggested. The complimentary chips and salsa were tasty, and the salsa had quite a bit of a kick. All 3 of us had Tacos De La Casa with different choices for the 2 tacos. I had shrimp and fish tacos. The dish was presented beautifully on a flat square plate. The ingredients were fresh and very flavorful. Just a bit messy to eat. I liked that both the fish and the shrimps were grilled instead of deep-fried. I also had a small piece of my daughter's quesabirria taco with the birria consommé. It was crispy and delish. My husband said his ribeye and carnitas tacos were scrumptious as well. It was very relaxing sitting in the outside patio and we all enjoyed our dinner.

Delicious food all around--everything we tried was flavorful and well-prepared. It's clear they put care into the dishes, and the overall quality really stood out. Service was a bit slower than expected given it wasn't very busy, but aside from that, the experience was great. I'd still recommend it and would come back again!

This is one of my fav places for date nights and girls night out. The drinks are always so good and the food always hits. I noticed the menu changed up a bit recently due to the new management but it seems to be for the best. But I am happy to see the same staff! My favorite dishes are the tacos, asada plate, chile relleno, chips and guacamole and the shrimp dishes. I recently tried a new dish which was garlic butter shrimp and it was amazing, I can't wait to order it again. Came here for cinco de mayo and although the website said taco Tuesday deals, they only had 2 drink specials. The Mexican candy margarita was amazing, I'd definitely order that again!

This place is so bad. Tacos were cold greasy and flavorless. Meat tasted old. My fav part were chips and salsa. We asked for another round of salsa to cover up the taste of bad tacos. And salsa was good probably bc it's not prepared there. Thankfully it was taco Tue and we didn't pay full price for shitty food. My hot tea had a foam on top. Flan tasted commercial.. bad whipped cream too. This place is like an American abomination on Mexican food. The waiter was apologetic about the food and said we'd probably like the special tacos better. We probably will not. SKIP!

    Tamales and tortilla soup. Delicious

Ambiance was great, nice aesthetic. Food was delicious and service above average. I was previewing for a possible venue to host a rehearsal dinner. I think it could work well. Location is easy access to the freeway and Hwy 9. Taco soup was delicious, the tamales were excellent and a very generous portion. I need to try their tacos when I go next time, but they looked delicious too. Oh, I almost forgot to mention their homemade sangria - it was truly something special. They also have a wide selection of beer options

Had dinner here. Food was excellent. The salsa was very tasty. The spicy salsa we ordered separately, was good and had a nice kick to it. Chips were ok, a lot of flour taste. The Portobella mushroom tacos were really really good. Also the Veg Enchiladas with the green and red sauce were excellent. The Spanish rice was tasty as well. The service was solid. Decent ambiance, on the main road so noisy if you sit outside like we did. The entrees are expensive. Not sure why they charge for extra salsa etc., should not nickel and dime patrons in my opinion.

We wanted to try something new for lunch and downtown Los Gatos is always a good choice since the area is so nice and filled with many restaurants. When we came around 11:30am, there was only 1 party before us. Sat inside since it was so hot that day. Started our meal off with a michelada and a pilsner. Refreshing. For food we ordered: Blackened shrimp: 5/5. So good. Loved the grilled flavor on this and the shrimp was so meaty. shrimp ceviche: 4/5. Perfect for this hot weather. Came with a lot of avocado. Fish taco: 4/5 Steak taco: 3/5. the cheese was interesting

9/8/24 Zach and I stopped by Hercules for dinner since they have outdoor seating and pretty good reviews. Zach dropped me off to get a table since the parking wasn't easy to locate at the time. I went in to ask if we could get a seat outside since we had Coco, but no one was at the front. There was a couple that was waiting there also and told me that they had been waiting for 10 minutes to be seated. I asked the bar tender if he could get us seated, but he said that the host would be with us in about 1 minute. The host was finally available after a few minutes, to which he seated the previous couple and then Zach and I outside. He even apologize for making us wait; all he said was "just sit whereever". No menus/water/utensils/plates were provided so I went inside to grab menus and tell the host we would like water and two place settings. Here's what we got: - chips and salsa (to share) - chicken enchiladas (his) - quesabirria tacos (mine) The three stars is mainly for the food because everything tasted great. The chips were solid and not flimsy and the salsa tasted fresh. Zach said he enjoyed his enchiladas, but it could have used more spice. I thought my tacos were gonna be soft shell, but I liked the texture of the hard shell taco and that it kept the taco filling neatly tucked inside. Overall, the food here is pretty good, but at the time we were there, service was definitely lacking.

Fish Taco with plenty of fish

After a rewarding hike, we stumbled upon this charming spot and decided to give it a try. If you're pressed for time, this might not be your best bet, as the food took a while to arrive. However, once it did, it was well worth the wait! As we browsed the menu, complimentary chips and salsa were brought to our table. The homemade chips were crispy and not overly oily--just right, though they could've used a touch more salt. The salsa was bursting with flavor and pleasantly mild. Being a draft house, the place boasted an impressive selection of local beers. I was a bit disappointed when my first two choices were unavailable, but that didn't dampen the experience. We started with the Mexican Charred Sweet Potato, a true highlight. The sweet potato, whipped to perfection within its skin, paired beautifully with rum and whipped butter. The candied walnuts were divine--I could've done with a few more! Next up were the fish tacos, featuring nicely grilled fish and a vibrant mango salsa that elevated the dish. The plate came with a hearty side of beans and rice. We couldn't resist adding a side of refried beans and chorizo, which was delicious when scooped up with the homemade chips. The moment you walk in, you'll notice the meticulous decor. From the tasteful furniture to the neon sign, every detail was thoughtfully planned. There's a lovely bar area and an outdoor seating space with TVs for added enjoyment.

No big deal, as I wanted the bar anyway, but something others should keep in mind. The cocktail list is plentiful and intriguing. I tend to avoid tequila, so that eliminated a good chunk of the options. I went with Rose Colored Lenses, which was fantastic, and decently sized. Presentation was beautiful. My friend had All a Dream, also very good. The wine offerings are minimal, this is very much a cocktail or champagne type of place, with caviar being the primary food service. Speaking of service, the bartender was excellent, both in his mixology and demeanor. It took awhile to get the drinks, but I assume that was due to the complexity of the cocktails, paired with having just opened the doors a few min earlier. Two notes: 1. The barstools were a little too low, imo. I don't normally pay much attention to that detail, but these were uncomfortably low for me, even with my long torso, I was hyper aware of my posture. So maybe that's actually a good thing 2. Other patrons were rolling in shortly behind me, so there is probably an early crowd when they first open, then a late night group that appreciates the 2am closing time. Interior is beautiful, and you can use the steps up to the 2nd floor either from N Santa Cruz or the rear parking lot off W Main. More substantial food options are a mere few steps across the hall at Heritage.

They are located in a shopping center on the corner of Union Ave and Los Gatos Almaden Road, in Los Gatos. When we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the owner. He was so nice. He let us pick where we wanted to sit. We found a nice table for the two of us and checked out the menus we were given. Our waitress came by with some cold waters and introduced herself. She kindly answered a few questions that we had. I decided to order their Baja Fish Tacos and my friend ordered the Elote Street Corn Salad with Tri-Tip. My tacos came with a choice of two sides. I chose black beans and guacamole. We also ordered some soft drinks. The inside is very nicely decorated. It's a very modern/hip vibe inside. They have a full bar with seating there. They also have several other seating options. Our food came out with in 19 minutes, which wasn't bad at all. My friend liked her salad. It was a nice size salad with a hefty portion of Tri-Tip. They brought her dressing on the side as she requested. My Baja Fish Tacos were amazing. They were huge and filling. The fish they use is cod and it has a light crispy batter that is not overly greasy. It came topped with shredded lettuce, Cajun remoulade, pico de gallo. The remoulade had a little spice to it and I loved it. I added, the side of guacamole on top of each taco, and I was in heaven. The black beans were a small portion but tasted good. Honestly, I was so full, I don't think I could have eaten more than what I was served. An overall excellent experience, delicious food with a friendly atmosphere. Our waitress gave us the best customer service. This is definitely the perfect neighborhood spot for good food and drinks. I look forward to returning with my husband for lunch and dinner.

That's a dangling participle: They don't return their middle schoolers, but they probably wish they could. Anyway, the Americanized-Mexican menu is heavy on burgers and bar appetizers, which were hit and miss. The French fries were unusually hard and crisp. The smashburgers looked better than they tasted, but that's not too insulting: they look outstanding. On two separate burgers the bland buns fell apart, so hopefully they'll get better options in future. If they won't toast the bun for me next time, I'll bring a lighter. The guac was good (my wife and I are picky) but the "queso" is queso-tionable. It's not the authentic, pale, chile-flecked queso you might expect from even Chipotle, but bright orange school snack bar nacho cheese. The elote salad was not very elotey and it was flavorless (my wife asked for lime, which helped juice it up). The beer list is impressive. They offer rotating slush drinks. I loved the strawberry margarita ($11 or $8 happy hour) but returned the mojito. It tasted like fake mint. It was a nojito.

Went to the restroom and BOTH toilets were clogged. Several girls notified employees, but the majority of them passed by without helping. I accidentally spilled some of my water (that is my bad) at one point and the next table was so kind to offer me their napkins and helped me. We cleaned up as much as we could, but not a single employee helped at all. A smooth, complex, clarified bunch. 5 stars -- Magic carpet one: when they had that it was one of my faves I'd order regularly. 5 stars -- Rinse and repeat: one of their classics which comes in a bathtub complete with foam and a rubber duckie. Refreshing and not sweet. 4.5 stars - New for the summer. Tried a few -- Bear necessities: little honey bear with cantaloupe, white miso, and sauvignon blanc. Quite delicious and summery. 4.5 -- Open container: artsy clear version of a paper bag. Interesting ingredient mix with Havana club rum, fermented pineapple, almond milk, and others. Little bit sweet. 4 stars - Their now more standard drinks are still some of the ones I still rely one. Faves of those: -- Studio 54: vodka based with lemongrass and bubbles served in a shiny colored disco ball glass 5 stars -- Man and his mule: peppercorn version of a mule and love the peppery kick. 4.5 stars -- Grand larceny: punch of a spirit forward cocktail my husband loves. 4.5 stars - Rotate out cocktails ever so often to maximize the fun - Halloween and Christmas they go all out with their unique menus and decor: no generic national pop ups for them and I look forward to it every year. - Food items: high quality as well. Some of my go tos -- Crab toasts: 4 little pieces of lovely toast with a dollop of avocado mousse and a heap of dungenous crab topped with lemon beurre blanc. My fave snack I always have to get. 5+ stars -- Grilled cheese: wonderful combo of white cheddar, monterey jack, and provolone with a bit of truffle flavor--not too much--on a nice fluffy roll. Served with soup to dip it in--often times a nice tomato. 4.75 stars -- French dip: solid version on the same type of roll. 4.5 stars - Can make reservations now online which makes it a lot more convenient - Wines: have a fabulous wine by the glass list but I can't ever pull myself away from the cocktails - Bourbon/whiskey: have a stellar collection and knowledgeable staff to tell you about them (but again never get to it) - Staff: friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable - Atmosphere: relaxed yet fun Midlights: - They used to have a nice nut mix I enjoyed but not on the menu anymore Lowlights: - Books up for the holidays so grab those reservations when you can

Not sure why we never got around to trying this place before. Came in with some clients and was…read morehonestly pretty impressed. The service was great, the drinks were delicious, and the light bites were surprisingly good across the board. We had the Kobe "Eye of Ribeye" Steak Tartare, Prime Rib Beef Dip, Heirloom Tomato & Burrata, Lobster Roll, Black Truffle Deviled Eggs, Dungeness Crab Toast, and the Hamachi Crudo. The only thing that wasn't really our favorite was the deviled eggs, but everything else was solid. Overall, a great spot for a drink and a few bites. Definitely one of those places I'll be coming back to, especially since there are still quite a few things on the menu I'd like to try.

I don't have much to add on that statement besides they never hit. We have come on nights where the service is poor, hard to get a bartender's attention even with no line and the drinks are gross. Some nights, the service is excellent and drinks are incredible! It just depends on who is bartending that night. The cocktail presentation is always very nice. This past Saturday we stopped by to hear the live music (which was really good / oldies rock and roll vibes) and there was no line at the bar! We got a wonderful bartender who made his own rendition of an Aviation for me as they do not have crème de violette. It was very good! Thanks Rudy! (I think it was Rudy?) Very much appreciated the work around and making something up special. My husband got the draft Paloma and it was not good. As I said just don't get the draft cocktails. Overall, would recommend the Cedar Room for great vibes, mostly friendly staff and mostly excellent cocktails (again, just don't get the draft)! We will be back!!

I've been coming here for a couple years now as I live in the area and my recent visits these last couple weeks have left me kind of shocked by the quality of the service, and drinks... it seems like they hire anyone. A lot of new staff with no experience or care. Also it says open @ 2 and they are never open, is it going out of business? Let the public know
