This is the first (and hopefully only) time I ever give a one star review but the way my party was treated was atrocious. Someone went up to grab waters for the group, and I wasn't feeling great so he brought one over to me before the rest were out. The bartender, who we believe may be the owner, yelled at him aggressively saying to never ever grab the drinks, even though it was just a water and it was for someone who wasn't feeling well (me). He also was going to charge $1 per water (I have never ever been charged for water in the state of California) unless someone bought a drink, so another person in our party guilt bought a cocktail, left the max amount of tip, to which the bartender said "not even a good tip". This experience really ruined the bar for us and none of us are ever going to return, strongly recommend avoiding this spot. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Honestly straight up RUDE! Never go here. My friends and I came in to grab a drink, it was raining so we immediately were trying to take off our wet jackets and find somewhere to sit. No one was checking IDs at the front so we just went right in. Before we could even order drinks or take off our jackets the older man behind the bar walked up to us and rudely demanded our IDs and then told us to "hurry up" when we were already rushing to pull them out. These comments he made followed with him blatantly telling us to leave. Mind you all of us are of age, the IDs wasn't the issue it was the abundance of rude comments and power tripping. We asked him to calm down and told him the approach was completely unnecessary and asked why he didn't ID the group of people that walked in right before us and that there was no one checking IDs at the front and he said "well that's not my problem" pretty upsetting just the tone of this guy and trying to talk to us like we're children. Additionally, the entire time during this whole interaction the manager was just sitting there watching allowing him to speak to us that way. She apologized and I explained to her the frustration but she could've easily stepped in and corrected his attitude. Absolutely terrible vibe and horrible service I would never step foot in here again! read more

I never ever use yelp but the owner was such a d**k I felt the need to write this. I spent 4 hours Atleast here with a huge group of friends after a wedding. No one was too rowdy everyone was polite and we had a good time, but the bartender (who's also the owner I think) was being very rude. I went to thank the bartenders for the service and he interrupted me acting very childish saying "if you really wanna thank me give me money" which he repeatedly said speaking over me. Keep in mind I wasn't being rude at all. I also tipped every single time I bought a drink. It was very weird and that one guy alone is the reason I'll never go back there again. Also he was kind of a prick to his employee that was washing the dishes for no reason. If you want to go to a place where you'll be disrespected and have a douche bag bartender this is the place to go read more

They have been around for over 50 years and there are several folks who have stories from their younger days coming here and partaking in their famous inexpensive Kamizkaze shots including yours truly. My highschool teacher at LGHS got married to someone who he met here but yet this establishment gate keeps based on who the bouncer likes, not who continues to purchase year over year Tonight my consumer value dropped to zero, my friend who was visiting from texas was denied entry. I had a real California ID. The bouncer with the beard and nose learning let me in but denied my friend. Having known him from childhood I encouraged him to call the police to check on his id, but the bouncers took my actions of enthusiastic challenge as a negative and even when the police confirmed the ID and my friend was let in, I was denied having challenged the bouncer. Classic dive bar. Busy most night with great drink prices considering it's in Los Gatos. I've been coming here for years and even though I'm a devout beer drinker, I always order the cranberry kamikaze here. It's a drink made for sharing. It's made in a pint glass filled to the top with ice and booze. They give you some small glasses with lime chunks at the bottom and the loaded pint glass with an ice strainer on top. Pouring the drink yourself at the table is all part of the fun with this crowd pleaser beverage. They do actually have a great draught beer selection here as well as a full bar. Service is quick and there is plenty of bar stools and booth seating available. If you want a more down to earth and distinctly divey experience then the standard and more snooty Los Gatos offers, this is your place! Give'm a shot! read more

Stiffness depends on who's pouring. If Amanda is pouring drinks for a group of guys, you know they are going to be stiff. The drinks, too. But, also, the prices are good to fair, the lights are dim, the service is great, you can bring in your own food, and the place is chill and old-peopley (at least until the kids come in at 10 after catching all their Pokemons), and, unlike any other bar, the regulars are a bit salty but genuine. read more

I was in Los Gatos looking for something to keep me busy for an hour while I waited for another service to finish. I walked into this quaint little pub and was instantly greeted. Reasonably priced cocktails and beers were readily available and quickly served by the skilled bartenders. I was looking to keep myself entertained with some games and luckily they had darts and a little table top video game with 40 different games to choose from built into it. The TVs were playing sports broadcast and the mood was that of any sports bar. The building is super old and the architecture shows it, and they keep the premises very clean including the bathroom. Will never go back while he's working and will be letting others know to stay away. This is a nice divey hole-in-the-wall bar in Los Gatos. I came out here with a colleague a few weeks ago and found myself liking the place. The crowd is a older folk, so the conversation depends heavily on that. I found myself enjoying the regulars of Blackwatch. All very friendly people, and the bartenders are also very nice. The beer selection on tap is okay, bottled beers do expand that list a little more, but it's nothing to write home to ya mama about. Their cocktails however are very good. I strongly recommend their kamikaze. It is made with the idea of sharing, however, you can take the entire glass to yourself. The place itself has a dart board, one tabletop game, and washrooms which are pretty simple and clean. It has a main bar, and a few booths up along the wall in the front, and a few tables for bigger parties in the back area. Overall: Good place to grab a cocktail and get the evening started if you ask me. Not bad for big parties either! Check it out! read more

Had dinner reservations in the area and stopped in to grab a drink. Between the dark interior, ceiling fan, no windows and tunes of led zeppelin, I felt like I had stepped into the '70's. Also, bathroom had a sliding partition/curtain; another throwback I haven't seen in many years. Grabbed the last couple of seats at the bar. Date had a stella and I had a greyhound (they have a wide selection of vodka; I went with Tito's). Drinks were priced cheaper than I had expected. Bartender was quick with the drinks.
