This place was PERFECT to celebrate our beautiful friend's bday! The atmosphere was so fun, great lighting and smoke machine, clean, spacious, DJ was lit, kudos for the stage and dance floor, the staff was all so friendly, pretty and welcoming! Bottle service was reasonable and food prices was just right! Our group had an amazing time and will def be back! Such a hidden gem in South San Jose. It wasn't packed, service was very attentive, the waitresses was having fun with us and we just love the whole vibe of the place! Thanks so much for hosting our group, Sensacion! See you soon!

Very nice place, good service and cheap prices, I like this place amazing show, delicious food and faster service

SO MUCH FUN!!!! And an absolute find. The food and drinks are pricy but OK, not the best and if you don't eat meat or seafood you're going to struggle a bit finding option. But the service and show makes up for any flaws in the food. I've never seen a staff working o hard between making drinks, serving tables, and performing. A true event and the perfect place to go in SJ with friends!

Wow! Everything was so good here and the service was amazing too. The owner took the time to…read moreexplain to us the inspiration behind the dishes and that really made the restaurant super inviting. We started with the crab crostini and the Brussels sprouts. The crab was very fresh and each crostini had a large portion of crab on top. The Brussels sprouts were very crispy and very umami with the cheese and bacon combination mixed in. The empanada was honestly a showstopper. I don't know how to describe it other than you have to try it. Both pastas were good but I prefer the mushroom one over the short rib ragu. The halibut was also good, and the basil sauce made it even better. I was already super impressed with everything but I think the stars were the 2 desserts. The Dubai cheesecake was an Italian style cheesecake, so it was a lot lighter than I was expecting (which was welcomed) and captured the essence of Dubai chocolate without being too overwhelming. The Lira in Wonderland was also SO good. It had a crown of cotton candy and was a mix of biscoff cookies, dehydrated red velvet cake (don't knock it till you try it), butterscotch sauce, and strawberries. I was honestly blown away by this meal.

This was supposed to be a special birthday dinner date that my husband meticulously planned for me,…read morebut it turned into the most horrendous dining experience I've ever had. We dined at Lira on November 14th. The Service (or Lack Thereof): The Menu Shortage: We arrived for our 6:45 PM reservation only to be told by the manager that they didn't have enough menus. We were told they'd bring them "later." Ignored for 35+ Minutes: We sat with nothing but water for over half an hour. To make matters worse, a table of six was seated after us and received their full entrees while we were completely ignored. The Drink Mess: After 40 minutes, the server told me they were out of ingredients for my drink. When I picked a second option, she tried to insist I wanted a drink with celery (my most despised vegetable). We thankfully stopped her before it was made, but the incompetence was staggering. The Food Fiasco: An hour into our reservation, someone dropped off a scallop dish. A while later, a server asked if I'd "received the scallops yet," and I realized the plate I was eating wasn't even intended for our table. We were so starving that my husband and I just shared them. Once we finished, the server finally asked my husband if he "still wanted his meal or if he wanted to cancel it." I finally lost my cool - of course he still wanted his dinner! The Aftermath: My husband didn't realize that my friends had actually made a separate reservation to take me back to this same spot the following night for a second birthday celebration. After this performance, there was no way I was going to step foot in this building again or give them another cent of our money. I texted my friends from the table to cancel those reservations and book elsewhere. With service this disorganized and insulting, this restaurant won't be in business long. Super disappointing. Don't waste your special occasions here. *Edit - it looks like Lira has closed. With the service we experienced, I am not surprised in the slightest. I am hopeful that whichever future business occupies this space is more successful.

They get it…read more You walk in without a reservation--that's right, no performance art phone call where some 23-year-old with a headset tells you they might have something available three weeks from Thursday at 4:47 PM. You just walk in. Like a human being. Like it's 1952 and people still did things that made sense. So my friends and I--and by friends I mean other middle-aged specimens who've decided we're not quite ready for the Early Bird Special circuit--we meet up for cocktails and oysters. And here's where it gets interesting: Their Oaxaca Mezcal selection. Folks, I'm drooling. I'm a grown man standing at a bar, salivating like Pavlov's golden retriever. It's embarrassing. It's beautiful. But the Old-Fashioneds? Holy Toledo, the Old-Fashioneds. I don't know what kind of wizard academy these bartenders graduated from--Hogwarts School of Mixology?--but these drinks border on actual magic. Generous pours, crafted with the kind of care usually reserved for newborn babies and vintage automobiles. You can taste the integrity in every sip. The place itself? Perfect booths, actual art on the walls, ambience that doesn't make you feel like you wandered into either a nursing home or a nightclub where everyone's young enough to be your kid. It's just... right. Five stars. Go there. Bring your middle-aged friends. Try not to drool too much over the mezcal. You're welcome.

If you're not hitting Cedar Room for happy hour, you're seriously missing out…read more They serve house fries with ketchup and housemade mayo for $5 during happy hour. The fries came out crispy and hot. The housemade mayo was creamy and rich, and honestly elevated the whole dish. They also serve hot honey wings, four wings for $5 during happy hour. The honey glaze is perfect. The crisp on the skin is on point, though the honey wasn't spicy. We ordered the cajun wings as well but next time I'd opt for just the hot honey.

Unfortunately the staff is not friendly. Now given I was there on a Friday during HH and before a popular movie, I can understand being busy but I truly felt like a bother. After ordering two drinks I also order two appetizers to which the bartender rolled her eyes at. Other than the less than decent service, one of the drinks we ordered had boba in it but served with small paper straw that the boba couldn't go through. Maybe I'm being petty about this one but the drinks also just didn't hit? They seemed pre-batched and lacked good flavor. We ordered wings and nachos. Wings had a weird texture and the nachos were mid. Two happy hour appetizers and two drinks were $65. While it's very convenient, there's so many other options in the Pruneyard, don't waste your time here.

Unfortunately I do not remember what I had...except for one that had "absinthe" which was obviously the fake American version of it. Each cocktail has a very thorough description so you can pick and choose to your liking. Every cocktail was about $17 each. Which is pricey! but that's how it is these days. But you should be assured the quality here is real good. I had to dock 1 star for the interesting choice of leaving the emergency door ajar all night the time i went. While it did help with the steamy temps inside, wow did it ruin the night for those who sit close to the door! It was very cold and windy so maybe leaving it too open was an uninformed choice. Parking is tricky, it's mostly street. There's some residential areas you can park at if you don't mind walking farther. Definitely going back, but a little farther away from the door next time.

They are located in a shopping center on the corner of Union Ave and Los Gatos Almaden Road, in Los Gatos. When we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the owner. He was so nice. He let us pick where we wanted to sit. We found a nice table for the two of us and checked out the menus we were given. Our waitress came by with some cold waters and introduced herself. She kindly answered a few questions that we had. I decided to order their Baja Fish Tacos and my friend ordered the Elote Street Corn Salad with Tri-Tip. My tacos came with a choice of two sides. I chose black beans and guacamole. We also ordered some soft drinks. The inside is very nicely decorated. It's a very modern/hip vibe inside. They have a full bar with seating there. They also have several other seating options. Our food came out with in 19 minutes, which wasn't bad at all. My friend liked her salad. It was a nice size salad with a hefty portion of Tri-Tip. They brought her dressing on the side as she requested. My Baja Fish Tacos were amazing. They were huge and filling. The fish they use is cod and it has a light crispy batter that is not overly greasy. It came topped with shredded lettuce, Cajun remoulade, pico de gallo. The remoulade had a little spice to it and I loved it. I added, the side of guacamole on top of each taco, and I was in heaven. The black beans were a small portion but tasted good. Honestly, I was so full, I don't think I could have eaten more than what I was served. An overall excellent experience, delicious food with a friendly atmosphere. Our waitress gave us the best customer service. This is definitely the perfect neighborhood spot for good food and drinks. I look forward to returning with my husband for lunch and dinner.
