Location: San Jose off Almaden Rd, near 24 fitness. Ambiance and Decor: wooden panel walls, flat screen TV seen in all walls, and a new school juke box near the entry. This is the after work spot. The place where the "good fellas" would kick it around 3pm. This is where the PTA moms would come through before Service: Friendly smile. The bartender seems to know all the locals. Food: i have yet to eat here since the drinks it what I normally go for.. Drinks: they have a selection of 5 different local IPA's as well as the standard beers found in most bars. Their cocktails are well mixed especially their old fashion. During my visit I ordered a Glenfiddich 14 year and it was a deep pour. Needed to step out a few times to get my bearings straight. Overall: 5/5 totally worth the visit. Prices are inexpensive and the local crowd makes everyone feel like family. read more

While this use too be my favorite, go to spot, tonight was very different. I'll start by saying that I've been coming here for a few years, nainly during football season, and have even recommended this place. Tonight however, the service was horrendous, as well as the overall ambiance of the place. 8 tvs going, with the Monday night football game on, and no volume. Just blasting country music. When I inquired about having some volume on the tv, I was rudely told, NO! This was from the bartender Gloria. I used an app on my phone to link the tv volume to my phone to listen to the game. After casting me the side eye several times, she told me I would need earphones if I wanted listen to it. I had brought some food in with me, and because I hadn't ordered a drink yet, she took the opportunity to rudely ask me, "are you gonna be ordering a drink". I'll treat this as an isolated incident because its never happened here before. For the sake of customer service though, she should consider being more considerate, and customer friendly. read more

I usually come into this plaza for the Cinelux Theater so I was surprised there was even a bar in this area. From the outside, you wouldn't be able to tell there's a bar, because there's no windows. However, once you come in, you definitely feel immersed in the atmosphere. The place was clean and pretty lively. During the time, I went, there was about two bartenders working. There are a bunch of TVs and there's also an outdoor patio. This place is definitely more for the older crowd. The music they played was more classic than modern. I tried their lemon drop daquiri which tasted good. It wasn't too strong or too sweet. Their muscow mule tasted as expected. I would recommend coming here if you want a place to chill and have a drink in the area. read more

I came here with my roommate this past Sat. It was about 11pm and it was silent as a library except from the normal chatter of patrons. My roommate who I was with came back after getting us a shot (which took forever) and said the bartender was rude and unfriendly. We quickly decided to spend our money somewhere else... it was busy in the bar but she killed the experience. Especially because we live close to this bar. I'll have to leave another review for the bartender that made it all the way better TODAY (Tuesday)... she was friendly and welcoming. We had a family outing here in San Jose and we decided to go to this bar because it's relatively close to our home. upon entering the bar I went up to the counter to order myself a beverage and received no service or not even a look my way for about 15 minutes, when the man finally arrived, he told me he seen me and he did not choose to serve me because he doesn't serve my " type " and also the dress that I was wearing, I could not wear. Stopped by on a Sunday evening and the place was pretty chill! Drake playing, good drinks and a nice chill vibe. Ordered a Moscow Mule which I thought was pretty fancy with the hard ginger candy, fig jam and lime. It was my first time there and the place looked newly renovated since it was pretty clean, walls and floors didnt look run down with a small outdoor patio. I would def stop by again when in the area. Snacks by the bar were also a nice treat! It is a great place for friend hang outs and seems like a great place to watch a game since I saw some customers flipping through channels to watch a soccer game. :) read more

Have you ever been to a divey bar that was surprisingly very clean? Me either, until I came here. The day bartender was great. I was able to do work from here so I guess the name fits. While I didn't try it, but they also have food- I saw things like fries and chicken tenders come out of the kitchen but it's still very much a bar. I would work from here again. read more

Hello Today 10/30 @15:03 I went in the Office to get a beer. The Bartender Becky I believe was her name Lil short dark hair lady. Asked a lady before me what she was drinking. Poured her beverage and never asked anything about payment on her first drink of the afternoon then asked me what I wanted to drink. So stated I wanted a coors light. She opened the bottle and held on to the beer never sat in front of me and had the nerve to ask me how I was gone pay for it. I was stuned with her attitude off the gate. I stated well I don't know because I haven't even got my drink yet. She stated I don't have time to be playing games with anybody grabed the beer and the cold glass and sat it down on the back bar and stated in front of everyone let me know how u plan to pay maybe because I was Black is what I was thinking. So I just left and went to apple bees where the drinks are cheaper and better company from the bartender. The Lady hurt my feelings and me and my friends will never associate with that kind-of behavior so you have lost close to ten patrons because of the racial profile I felt from the bartender named Becky. read more

It's a short walk from Cinelux Almaden Plaza, so it makes a perfect place for pre-movie drinks or to go after to bitch about how disappointing "the Last Jedi" was. Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica. We came here on a Friday even, even though it is a dive bar, but it is very clean, service is great, and they even have a great Whiskey selection, which is always a bonus for me. The music is a bit loud, or I'm just getting too old? hahaha. There is a outside patio, but there were tons of people smoking there, so we decided to stay inside instead. Parking is plenty since it is in a shopping plaza. The patrons are very diverse, you have the sports fans watching the game, young people hanging out, bunch suburb housewives hanging out with their husbands, and people on dates.
