We came here to celebrate my friend's birthday and there were definitely some things we really enjoyed. The ambiance and decor were beautiful and created a really pretty atmosphere for a night out. The drinks were also great and visually really nice, and we enjoyed the calamari as well. That said, I think there may have been some miscommunication that unfortunately impacted our overall experience. A few days before our reservation, I reached out because we were celebrating a birthday and asked if there were any recommendations to make the evening feel a little extra special. The staff kindly let me know they could provide a birthday sign and dessert, which was incredibly thoughtful and honestly helped sell us on choosing this spot. When we arrived though, I don't think the birthday note on the reservation was seen or communicated. I completely understand that things happen and mistakes happen naturally, but when something special is offered beforehand and then doesn't happen, it can leave you feeling a little disappointed. The food itself was a bit mixed as well. The garlic fries unfortunately were not our favorite. They were very hard without much crispness and tasted a bit like fries that had been reheated rather than freshly made. I still want to mention that the drinks, atmosphere, and some menu items were enjoyable, and I appreciate the kindness from the staff beforehand. I'm sharing this more as feedback because I think small details and follow-through can really make a celebration feel memorable. After dinner, we ended up continuing the birthday night elsewhere where the food and service fit the experience we were hoping for. Overall, pretty ambiance and good drinks, but I left wishing the execution had matched the expectations that were set.

    Seafood tower

Drinks are pretty good. Food is solid/ok. It's decent but nothing insane or very creative. We had a seafood tower, captains catch, and two for roasted ribeye. I will say this tho... The portions are very fair and for that price it was able to feed 13 people with leftovers. I would def recommend going for the vibes and celebrations.

Came in on a Friday night with some friends for dinner and this place is a vibe! We were greeted promptly and seated. We started with the wagyu sliders and calamari and the sliders were amazing. Juicy, flavorful, and perfect. The calamari was crispy and fresh and the sauce was perfect! I am disappointed I didn't get a picture but I did get a video of their table side tomahawk... and let me tell you it was a show and something you need to experience. Cooked to perfection and tender with so much flavor! If you want to see the video I have it... hit me up :) We also wanted to be somewhat healthy and ordered a side of broccolini which was al dente and had a nice coat of salt for taste. The beet salad was also a touch of crispness. We ended the night with the tray of deserts and the bread pudding was by far the winner. All the others were good but the bread pudding was the star! Ben and Issac and their staff are attentive, friendly and professional. They each have their opinions of what they like and tailor their recommendations based on customer feedback. Would highly encourage anyone to try this place as the food and people are top notch!

    Happy Hour Menu

Extensive happy hour menu (see pic). We ordered several dishes and all were quite good. I ordered the Whiskey and Wagyu Elevated Duo ($16) which was one Wagyu slider with an Old Fashioned drink. The drink was nice and classy, and full strength! Nice. The slider, honestly, I couldn't tell whether it was Wagyu or not - once you grind beef and cook it, whatever quality the Wagyu brings as a cut of beef is lost in the process. But it was still a good slider. We also had Brussels sprouts, tasty and allowed us to feel we were eating some veggies. The crab cakes were on the smaller side, but delicious. The garlic noodles I wasn't expecting a lot from, but were just as good as all the other dishes. Finally, the lava cake was done just right. Perfect cook, nice sweetness, the only flaw being that there wasn't enough ice cream to go with the cake. Service was efficient and friendly, the place is decorated classily and it wasn't excessively noisy. It's great to have a Happy Hour that lasts so long, and the trade off between only having it limited days but for extended hours is a fair one. So all in all, a very nice meal and cocktails. We enjoyed it very much and would be happy to dine here again!

You me know, I'm big on customer service. From the greeter to the servers the customer service is A1 even on a busy Sunday Funday event (BoozieBrunch). I came here for brunch and everything was amazing. The food was so good, hot upon arrival and seasoned (veggie beef bowl, steak & eggs, chick wings, calamari, etc). You do Not I repeat you do Not need to add salt and pepper to the food. The ambiance is clean and has a nice set up. This restaurant is beautiful. I am not from here and I never come out this way but no lie for Wild Rose Eatery and Bar, I might have to slide back for dinner one time.

The food is very good ( sorry no too much pictures) we got chicken skewers and fried calamari good potions and reasonable price. The American Kobe beef mush burger is very good but pricy ($30.00) The service in the beginning was slow but then speed up and was very good and friendly. The ambience is nice and modern, soft lights but too noisy. Very loudly........

Filet mignon was super good, mixed drinks were also yummy. Happy hour is a must to make it affordable. Service was kinda mid, nothing really exceptional from the front of house staff. It took quite along time to get drinks or any of the dishes in my opinion given how slow it was. The indoor seating is very cute! Edit: got food poisoning afterwards

My wife and I came here after an event for some drinks and appetizers. We decided to sit at the bar area so we didn't have to wait to be seated. The place is very spacious with bar seating and booth seating. The place was dim and they have little lamps at the table which made it more intimate. Our server was very helpful and checked on us when our drinks were low and when we finished an appetizer to see if we wanted anything else. She even checked up on one of our appetizer which took a little long to come out. We ordered a few drinks from both the regular menu and the seasonal menu. The drinks were really good and had a lot of flavor. We enjoyed every one of them that we ordered. We already ate dinner at our event so we decided to get some appetizers. We started off with chilled jumbo shrimp. The shrimps were sweet and went well with our drink. Since the shrimps were pretty good, we decided to order a few more appetizers and opted to try the baked oysters and seared scallops. The seared scallops were cooked to perfection where it wasn't too rubbery and had a lot of flavor. The sauce that came with the scallops paired pretty well also. Our baked oysters took awhile to come out and our server had to go check to see what the delay was. When our oysters came out, I was surprise how small they were. They reminded me of Kumamoto oysters. My wife only eats baked oysters and doesn't like oysters much but she really enjoyed it. The oysters were good but for the size, I would rather have them raw than baked. Overall, our experience was a good one. We really appreciate our server for being attentive and checking up on us. The price is pretty steep for the portions so we would be back if we are in the area. We will try the entrees next time when we are around the area. Definitely try this place out if you are in the area and want to try some good drinks and just enjoy a nice ambiance.

Wild Rose has happy hour Tue-Thu 5-10pm with a pretty extensive menu. We always like to try out new happy hour places, and we made a reservation for a table in the lounge for 6:30pm yesterday. They're pretty busy on a Thursday night for both happy hour and dinner. Service was friendly. Their "Elevated Duos" at $16 were pretty good deals. I ordered the steak taco with paloma and my husband had the old fashioned with wagyu slider. We both enjoyed our selections. The drinks were nice and quite strong, and my taco had two generous pieces of steak with a delicious sauce. We ordered 3 other curated bites off their happy hour menu as well. Their crab cakes were crispy and not oily. They tasted good with the non-spicy aioli. I still preferred non-deep-fried crab cakes, though. The brussel sprouts were yummy and a little on the sweeter side, no bitterness at all. The garlic noodle was perfectly cooked. It was warm, rich, creamy and very flavorful. We also ordered the decadent chocolate lava cake from the dessert menu; a perfect ending to our meal. However, I had to deduct one star because of the followings: 1. When they seated us at the high table in the lounge, they're missing 1 chair. So, they pulled a bar stool, which was too high, from the bar for me, saying that they would swap my chair with one at the proper height when it became available. We were seated oddly at different heights for a while, and none of the chairs near us were freed up even after our drinks arrived. Fortunately, another staff member checked in with us, and found a proper chair from the back. Not sure why they didn't find that chair before our reservation time, nor offered us seats at the bar instead. Maybe the front of the house was just inexperienced. 2. While we enjoyed the lively vibe at the restaurant, it was just too loud. In order to have a conversation, we had to either lean forward or repeat ourselves a lot. 3. It would be better if they had brought us the spoons for our dessert separately instead of leaving them on top of the dessert itself. We ended up having chocolate sauce all over our hands while picking up the spoons. :-( We would still like to come back and try other items on their menu. Hopefully, we would have a better experience next time.

This restaurant has definitely become one of my favorites! Exactly what I was looking for: delicious and flavorful food, great atmosphere and best service they were all so attentive. Will definitely be back with a bigger party!

Came to try because I was attracted by the great review. It was Saturday night. I definitely recommend making reservation. The whole place was fully packed. It's such a fun and loud place. It's a great place for celebration. The food here is ok. I liked the seafood tower a lot. Portion was great and price is comparable to other places. Other dishes was so so. Spicy seafood pasta wasn't spicy. Crème brûlée was cold inside under the sugar layer. Bread pudding was great.

    Korean Fried Chicken
    Joaquina F.

It was pretty empty when we went in and was easy to grab a table. It's nicely decorated and dim to set the mood. Service was friendly, they recommended great drink options. The food was good, I got the Korean fried chicken which came with a side of garlic noodles. Maybe next time I'll ask for no cheese on them.

Decent spot for a nice party or celebration. They will even make custom menu's for your birthday which is a nice touch. Variety of drinks is pretty varied as is the food. The mac and cheese was really good. The music does get a bit loud so it was slightly hard to hear some people in the table, but other than that, it was a flawless experience. Again, a great spot to go for a birthday or party.

The crab was very fresh and each crostini had a large portion of crab on top. The Brussels sprouts were very crispy and very umami with the cheese and bacon combination mixed in. The empanada was honestly a showstopper. I don't know how to describe it other than you have to try it. Both pastas were good but I prefer the mushroom one over the short rib ragu. The halibut was also good, and the basil sauce made it even better. I was already super impressed with everything but I think the stars were the 2 desserts. The Dubai cheesecake was an Italian style cheesecake, so it was a lot lighter than I was expecting (which was welcomed) and captured the essence of Dubai chocolate without being too overwhelming. The Lira in Wonderland was also SO good. It had a crown of cotton candy and was a mix of biscoff cookies, dehydrated red velvet cake (don't knock it till you try it), butterscotch sauce, and strawberries. I was honestly blown away by this meal.

This was supposed to be a special birthday dinner date that my husband meticulously planned for me,…read morebut it turned into the most horrendous dining experience I've ever had. We dined at Lira on November 14th. The Service (or Lack Thereof): The Menu Shortage: We arrived for our 6:45 PM reservation only to be told by the manager that they didn't have enough menus. We were told they'd bring them "later." Ignored for 35+ Minutes: We sat with nothing but water for over half an hour. To make matters worse, a table of six was seated after us and received their full entrees while we were completely ignored. The Drink Mess: After 40 minutes, the server told me they were out of ingredients for my drink. When I picked a second option, she tried to insist I wanted a drink with celery (my most despised vegetable). We thankfully stopped her before it was made, but the incompetence was staggering. The Food Fiasco: An hour into our reservation, someone dropped off a scallop dish. A while later, a server asked if I'd "received the scallops yet," and I realized the plate I was eating wasn't even intended for our table. We were so starving that my husband and I just shared them. Once we finished, the server finally asked my husband if he "still wanted his meal or if he wanted to cancel it." I finally lost my cool - of course he still wanted his dinner! The Aftermath: My husband didn't realize that my friends had actually made a separate reservation to take me back to this same spot the following night for a second birthday celebration. After this performance, there was no way I was going to step foot in this building again or give them another cent of our money. I texted my friends from the table to cancel those reservations and book elsewhere. With service this disorganized and insulting, this restaurant won't be in business long. Super disappointing. Don't waste your special occasions here. *Edit - it looks like Lira has closed. With the service we experienced, I am not surprised in the slightest. I am hopeful that whichever future business occupies this space is more successful.

Love the decor/design and vibes (music/theme). Service was great! Helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The bartenders are really serving up crafted cocktails. We ordered the following: -Start Me Up, my partner loved this. He is an espresso drinker and love the flavor profile -Like A Virgin, this is on the sweeter side but the prosecco side car really balances it out -So Fresh, So Clean: normally comes with tequila but I swapped for vodka and it was very refreshing -Davis In My Bones, partner loved this This place turns into a club at 9:30, so there are plenty of options depending on your mood! No big deal, as I wanted the bar anyway, but something others should keep in mind. The cocktail list is plentiful and intriguing. I tend to avoid tequila, so that eliminated a good chunk of the options. I went with Rose Colored Lenses, which was fantastic, and decently sized. Presentation was beautiful. My friend had All a Dream, also very good. The wine offerings are minimal, this is very much a cocktail or champagne type of place, with caviar being the primary food service. Speaking of service, the bartender was excellent, both in his mixology and demeanor. It took awhile to get the drinks, but I assume that was due to the complexity of the cocktails, paired with having just opened the doors a few min earlier. Two notes: 1. The barstools were a little too low, imo. I don't normally pay much attention to that detail, but these were uncomfortably low for me, even with my long torso, I was hyper aware of my posture. So maybe that's actually a good thing 2. Other patrons were rolling in shortly behind me, so there is probably an early crowd when they first open, then a late night group that appreciates the 2am closing time. Interior is beautiful, and you can use the steps up to the 2nd floor either from N Santa Cruz or the rear parking lot off W Main. More substantial food options are a mere few steps across the hall at Heritage.

The cocktail menu is inspired by records, and you can feel the creativity in every sip. These aren't your standard bar pours -- they're clearly thought out and crafted with personality. If you're someone who appreciates a drink with a story behind it, you'll be in your element here. The live DJ on weekends takes the whole experience to another level. The music isn't background noise -- it's part of the atmosphere, and it hits right. What makes this place truly special is that you're getting two completely different vibes under one roof. Walk into Still OG up front and you get a casual, laid-back energy -- easy conversation, good company, no pretension. Then slip into the speakeasy in the back and the whole mood shifts. Alter Ego is a proper intimate lounge with their full bar, and it feels like a world away from the street outside. The transition between the two spaces is surprisingly seamless and genuinely fun to experience. And they're open late, which puts them in a rare category of places actually worth staying out for. Whether you're there for a chill night out or a proper evening, this place delivers both without making you choose.

This location performs shows (done by the staff) on the hour, every hour. The shows are choreographed by the owner of the bar & by the end of the night, the entire staff has been in at least 1 number. These dance numbers are SOOO fun & SOOO good! There is no where in San Jose that is doing what this place doing. The staff comes around & gives shots (plus a show, obvi), also there is a certain drink you can order where they will put on a show for you as well. There is a dance floor for dancing & the DJ is great at reading a room! I cannot believe how fun this place is, or how it is not PACKED yet. Skip your silly little bars & get down here ASAP.
