A cool old school vibe inside with some tasty drinks. Service was super friendly and they have plenty of bathroom stalls! We ordered the pear and tea cocktails! Would definitely come back!

I honestly loved everything about this bar/speakeasy!! It was so quaint, rustic, and romantic, and I'm so happy I was on a girl date playing catch-up with my friend!! We got to have two rounds of special holiday cocktails and each one was better than the last! Well, they all had different flavors so I liked all of our drink drinks just because they were so eclectic and unique!! The pear liqueur was incredibly interesting to me. Then the bartender told me that they were a local Eastbay distillery and they do tastings!! So my girl and I are definitely taking public transit to the East Bay to go try out the distillery next!! We will definitely be back to this speakeasy!!

One of my favorite bars in the Bay. Haberdasher is an awesome speakeasy bar with a tailor shop/home-y vibe. They've always got a great selection on the menu but if you ask them to make you a drink based on a flavor profile you describe, they will also make you something stellar. Some must-trys at Haberdasher are the Black lodge and the Old Fashioned. They do something with the Old Fashioned that makes it really phenomenal. All the bartenders are super knowledgeable and are great. I'd come here all the time if I could!

Date night in Downtown San Jose and stopped in at Haberdasher to check it out. Seen it on yelp and needed to cross it off of my bucket list. It was early so we got a place at the front of the line. A few minutes later we were walking down the steps to the speakeasy. Down the stairs and around the corner were some vintage decorations reminiscent of the past. Took another turn and we were greeted with red walls and bowler hat lighting, a cool touch. Walked up to the bar and Julie was welcoming and friendly. she prepared us some drinks all I can say is that she is VERY good at her craft as a bartender. She made us a special concoction called a coconut cream sickle. This coconut cream cycle was smooth, tropical light and very refreshing. It was so good that we ordered two more. Took our drinks and looked for table to sit at. The place is on the smaller side and seating seamed limited. Found a table and sat to enjoy our drinks. There is no table service here so you need to get your drinks at the bar and your small bites at the bar too. Ambience was loud with music playing and lots of conversations.

Downtown San Jose's first speakeasy is still going strong after all these years. Their bartenders are highly skilled and knowledgeable, and can recommend something for anyone's tastes or even make something custom for you. This time I loved a lot of their special Halloween drinks and also a lot of their caffeinated drinks, like their Tie Tea and Pumpkin Spiced Espresso Martini. Unfortunately they don't have any substantial food, only 3 choices of nuts, so plan to eat before or after. Plenty of seating inside despite the small space.

I've been visiting Haberdasher since it was Singlebarrel and I'm always excited to go because the drinks are just that good. Dropped in with my bro around 9 as it was starting to pick up. Dark, swanky, the definition of a speakeasy. Had to grab a seat at the bar to watch all the action. Shout out to Rebecca and her ability to really hone in on my drink preferences (sorry for testing you), but bravo for stringing three winners for me and my bro. Penicillin (bright acid)- Small Mistake (dark complex) - Orchard Sour (apricot/acid). Everyone seemed to be in a good mood tonight- I'm sure the drinks helped! Thank you for making every visit here amazing Team Haberdasher!

Absolutely loved the Haberdasher! Such a fun speakeasy vibe that takes you back in time -- we really need more places like this. The vibe is nice and classy but still very fun and upbeat, with a dimly lit ambiance. Even the bathroom fits the vibe! Staff are also all dressed up in apt attire and are very attentive and both serve and clean up quickly. The Sampalok and little Betty were both delicious and very high-quality drinks! I came on a Friday night around 8pm and it was not crowded then, but within an hour it got really crowded, and after passing by the line was growing. But there is no cover so it is worth a wait if there is one! Definitely recommend and I want to come back and try more.

This is the best speakeasy in San Jose, in my opinion. Classy, incredible staff, great vibes, and the drinks were top notch. We came here during the summer months so we got the summer beverages. I remember mine was watermelon flavored and you can tell it was made with real watermelon juice, not artificial watermelon. It was really refreshing and strong!

Stopped by for this new-to-me cocktail, plus live music: 4.6/5: Little Betty: Johnnie Walker Scotch, Lagavulin 8 year scotch, ginger liqueur, Thai basil, lemon, bitters. It brings out the better flavor aspects of scotch. On the first Thursdays of the month, they have a band 6-10. It's mostly rap. The music is quite good. Great vibe. Here are my favorites from previous menus: They can make most of these: 4.9: Beer Flip. Rum, whole egg, sugar, dark beer. The dark beer lends the perfect bitterness to the rum. 4.9: Orchard Sour: Cognac, apricot, cinnamon, lemon 4.9: The Fall-Back: Laird's AppleJack, lemon, ginger beer. 4.8: The Idylewild is an excellent cobbler; it has a sour cherry note. 4.8: Mexican Chocolate Flip: Spiced rum, Tia maria, chocolate bitters, whole egg 4.7: East India Daiquiri: Batavia Arrack, Canton Ginger, pimento dram 4.7: Zihuatanejo: Mezcal, white vermouth, rosemary, lemon. 4.7: The basil gimlet is excellent. They use Junipero gin. 4.6: Paloma, on tap. tequila, agave, grapefruit soda. Good, but the flavor could be bolder. Good value batched cocktail.

Came here a couple of times with friends. I think this speakeasy takes you out of San Jose. We don't have many, and the vibe feels like you're time traveling to the 1920s. I had a hard time going to it for a while because there always seemed to be a long line. When you get downstairs, there's an adequate amount of seats and good ventilation. The noise isn't too loud. I think some of the cocktails are basic, but there are others that stand out. The menu is easy to read through a QR code. The service is always great, even with the guy working the door upstairs. For drinks, I usually go for a beer. I've had their watermelon cocktail which is refreshing. One of their cocktails is a pink peppercorn flavor inspired by the ice cream at Penny's; I felt indifferent about it as the pepper flavor wasn't that strong. Prices are normal for the Bay--a bit on the expensive side. Overall I'd love to come back.

Rebecca made me a custom cocktail that matched my outfit/vibe and it was SO good!

Came here with a friend who was visiting me and I had a great experience with the staff here! Rebecca at the bar made me an incredible custom cocktail and it was so so good. She took into account my personal taste and also matched it to my outfit which just really made my whole week! Highly recommend coming here to get a custom cocktail and chilling with friends. I will say it was a little dead and awkward inside when I was there (Saturday night closer to closing) but that's no fault of anyone who works there! I'm new to San Jose and am learning quickly that everything closes very early.

    Veerawan T.

Speakeasy bar with 1920s theme as soon as you enter. Excellent service and they have great cocktails! Since it's summer, we were recommended the delicious watermelon drink! I also requested a custom drink where I told the bartender my preferences of taste/liquor/style and she made it exactly how I described!

Small speakeasy bar and lounge, with a small stairway down. Great and super easy to understand menu selection with extremely friendly and attentive bartenders. Coming back for sure!

Keep Calm and Crab On is their version of Crab Benedict. Everything about this Benedict is special and unique. Instead of the traditional lemony hollandaise sauce, it had a brown butter hollandaise. The brown butter's nutty and slight sweetness complemented the crab flavor that you can still taste the crab instead of getting overpowered by the sauce. They use loose real crab meat; not the crab patty type so no fillers. Really good amount of minced crab meat that it's nicely proportioned with the biscuit. Instead of English muffin, they use a big scallion biscuit. The biscuit was toasty on the bottom and the rest was moist with little pockets of honey. The poached egg's yolk was a bit more cooked than the traditional jelly or runny yolk but it did not make this dish any less yummy. Crispy hashbrown on disk shaped. Every part was great. 5/5 stars. The best Crab Benedict I've had and I've had quite a few. The waffle in the Chicken and Waffle was very crispy but at the same time almost flaky. It was not the dense fluffy type but it was easy to eat. It's like a cross between a croissant and waffle. The syrup was lighter than the thick pancake syrup. The waffle is 5/5 stars. The Chicken part of this dish is basically like a Taiwanese popcorn chicken that you can get from a boba place. Bite sized dark meat chicken battered and fried. Served with Sriracha mayo type sauce and syrup. 3/4 stars. The Stuffed French Toast tasted like lemon meringue pie. Sweet lemony filling. The French Toast itself was fluffy but at the same time nicely soaked in custard. Slight cinnamon flavor. It came with a thick slice of bacon which is more like a slice of grilled pork belly that was buttery and umami. 4/5 stars. The Pipikaula Ribs plate had 3 slices of bone in short ribs, kimchee fried rice and two over medium eggs. The short ribs were grilled and looked like the sweet Korean BBQ short ribs but it's more savory with peppery flavor rather than sweet. Tender meat. The genorously portioned Kimchee rice was mostly spicy. 3.5/5 stars because the Kimchee was too spicy to fully enjoy the dish. The Flatbread appetizer had a good amount of mozzarella cheese melted on top soft fluffy flatbread with salty prosciutto slice in between. Topped with perfectly poached egg. Wish they offer fountain soda vs bottled ones. Each dish was eye so pleasing that couldn't wait to dig into it as soon as they landed on the table. Staff, Anna Lisa, was very pleasant and just made us felt comfortable; which was important because it's our first time dining here. Nice comfortable dining room with high ceiling and big windows. Great food with quality ingredients and thoughtfully put together menu, welcoming staff, relaxed ambiance. Will definitely return.

What a rich treat. * Arancini: The twist of fusion flavors was great. I love how the Japanese curry added a nice mix of umami, paired with the sharp creamy kimchi sauce. Definitely a favorite! * Pork belly: Pull apart, juicy, and tender! These paired actually really well with the arancini for a good balance of rice and meat. * Red miso crème brûlée: interesting sweet and salty flavor combination between the red miso and Madagascar vanilla. Not too overpowering tho. A lovely meal was had here!

Love the decor/design and vibes (music/theme). Service was great! Helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The bartenders are really serving up crafted cocktails. We ordered the following: -Start Me Up, my partner loved this. He is an espresso drinker and love the flavor profile -Like A Virgin, this is on the sweeter side but the prosecco side car really balances it out -So Fresh, So Clean: normally comes with tequila but I swapped for vodka and it was very refreshing -Davis In My Bones, partner loved this This place turns into a club at 9:30, so there are plenty of options depending on your mood! No big deal, as I wanted the bar anyway, but something others should keep in mind. The cocktail list is plentiful and intriguing. I tend to avoid tequila, so that eliminated a good chunk of the options. I went with Rose Colored Lenses, which was fantastic, and decently sized. Presentation was beautiful. My friend had All a Dream, also very good. The wine offerings are minimal, this is very much a cocktail or champagne type of place, with caviar being the primary food service. Speaking of service, the bartender was excellent, both in his mixology and demeanor. It took awhile to get the drinks, but I assume that was due to the complexity of the cocktails, paired with having just opened the doors a few min earlier. Two notes: 1. The barstools were a little too low, imo. I don't normally pay much attention to that detail, but these were uncomfortably low for me, even with my long torso, I was hyper aware of my posture. So maybe that's actually a good thing 2. Other patrons were rolling in shortly behind me, so there is probably an early crowd when they first open, then a late night group that appreciates the 2am closing time. Interior is beautiful, and you can use the steps up to the 2nd floor either from N Santa Cruz or the rear parking lot off W Main. More substantial food options are a mere few steps across the hall at Heritage.
