[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great vibe![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Haven't been here in years but was in town and friends wanted to check out a bar. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was abnormally quiet as we went on a Monday night and Warriors were playing (so everyone was at Yard House).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But drinks were good and it was a chill place to catch up. Happy hour prices were good!

I'm kind of shocked at the low rating here! I always love coming here for an espresso martini! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's such a vibe here. I love the darkness and the red counter top![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service is always friendly! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice views of the row from the balcony![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Expensive drinks, but to be expected when at Santana Row.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Although this is probably one of the more expensive bars in the area I love the vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a super lively place with a decent amount of indoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a very small narrow balcony and a large covered outside area that open til 1130pm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I love how friendly the bartenders and security are! I used to come here regularly when I was in grad school, so it brings back memories, taking those elevators up to the third floor of Hotel Valencia. The place is still as lovely as I remember, upscale, with dim red lighting inside and an inviting outdoor space with a beautiful fountain at the center. During my recent visit, the outdoor space was covered and felt like it was heated inside the patio enclosure, a perfect setup during the colder season. There was plenty of seating available throughout on a Sunday night, bar seating, lounge seating, and outdoor seating. It was nice to have options, rather than the weekend crowds I remember. We got a few cocktails (wild watermelon, raspberry lemon drop, and moscow mule), and they were all made well, tasty and strong... as I'd expect based on the high costs. Service was standard, not super attentive, but good enough. However, they tried to overcharge us $30 extra! Honest mistake, maybe, but I think it's careless, especially for a place that charges $20+ per drink. It was quickly fixed, and we still had a good experience regardless.

I loved the interior vibe and the pop art decorations inside the bar. It wasn't too hard to get the bartenders attention. Drinks were good, price was fair, and our party of 4 was able to find seating so it was an overall good experience!

This is the best lounge on Santana Row and probably in all of San Jose. Usually come in to meet up with a few buddies and then have a few drinks and the night always turn into such a good time. The menu was updated, but I wouldn't know since I order the same negroni all the time. I sometimes switch it up with a Tequila spritz but that's rare. Only shots and Negronis for me. The inside is very classy and upscale unlike some of the other Lounges in the area. You meet some of the most interesting people at this lounge. Service is always top notch, especially when you have the best bartender in the bay working there. If you ever come through ask for Bruno and he'll take good care of you. Love this lounge to death, happy that I made it one of my regular drinking spots!

Can I come at 12:01 AM the night of my birthday? I know CA doesn't have a law against this, but I'm assuming bars might have their own policy?

I went here a few imes a couple of years ago when he drinks and appetizers were $6 apiece. Is that still true?

I walked in and stood waiting to be seated while an employee, who appeared to be the owner or manager, continued talking with her kids instead of acknowledging customers. I don't mind waiting, but a simple "We'll be right with you" would have made all the difference. I decided to give them another chance. On a later visit, I spent a few hours working there and ordered drinks. When a friend joined me, he sat down and was completely ignored. No one came over to greet him or ask if he'd like anything. We eventually had to flag someone down just so he could place an order. After that, our server mentioned that Tuesdays were buy one, get one free on wine. I ordered my second glass, but it never arrived. When I asked another server about it, I was made to feel like I was inconveniencing them. The irony is that I would have happily paid full price--I wasn't the one asking for a deal. They were the ones who brought up the promotion, then acted bothered when I politely asked about the wine that was never delivered. The final straw was our most recent visit. We were seated at a table by the staff, only to be told a few minutes later that we had to move because the tables were supposedly reserved for the party sitting behind us. We moved without making an issue of it, but no one ever ended up using those tables for the entire time we were there. It was frustrating to be relocated after being seated, especially when the explanation didn't match what actually happened. At this point, it's hard to view these experiences as isolated incidents. The common theme has been inattentive service and an attitude that makes customers feel like they're an inconvenience rather than guests. There are too many great wine bars that genuinely appreciate their customers for me to spend any more time or money here.

This is a review for their weekday Bar & Lounge Happy Hour (Tue - Thu 5pm - 10pm... yes, you read…read morethat right... all night Happy Hour). After our first visit last night, I think it's safe to say it is probably the best Happy Hour offering in the SF South Bay. Good quality, good value, great service and nice club/lounge ambiance. Here's what we shared food-wise... * HH Garlic Noodles -- This didn't quite meet my expectation. Described as a "perfectly cooked pasta tossed in rich garlic butter", what we got was more like a soft udon type noodle with a rather starchy garlic sauce. The taste was definitely very garlicky, but the dish could have been much better with an al dente pasta tossed in an actual garlic butter or olive oil. * HH Wagyu Smash Burger -- This was yum! Great flavor, nicely grilled served on a toasted soft brioche bun. ($15 on HH versus $32 witha side of fries on the Dinner Menu :o) * HH Hamachi Crudo -- This was superb! Fresh generous slices of yellowtail topped with sliced lemon, jalapeno, tobiko and microgreens, perfectly matched with Ponzu sauce. ($12 on HH for 4 pieces versus $23 for 5 pieces on the Dinner menu) * HH Crab Cakes -- 2 medium sized blue crab cakes with diced mango and spicy aioli. Pretty decent for $14. * HH Crispy Brussels Sprouts -- Good standard fare. For drinks, we enjoyed... * HH Weather Pinot Noir -- Our server, Mikayla, said it was her favorite wine on the HH menu. It was very nice. * HH Mango Deck -- Reposado, Jalapeno syrup, lime and mango puree with a 151 rum flambee. Great drink if you like sweet, sour and spicy... and it comes with a show as the 151 rum is lit. Will definitely return. Would love to try the HH Grand Seafood Tower with oysters, yellowtail and salmon sashimi, shrimp and lobster ($65 on HH) which we saw another table order. Looks like a great place for a larger party celebration too.

I ordered the Wagyu beef sliders ($25) and the truffle mac and cheese ($18), along with a half dozen chilled oysters ($28). The prices are definitely on the higher end, and there are plenty of creative drinks and a good variety of things to choose from. The truffle mac and cheese was probably my favorite. It was comforting, fragrant, gooey, and practically melted in your mouth. The truffle flavor was noticeable and added just enough depth without completely overpowering the cheese and creamy sauce. The Wagyu beef sliders were tender and seasoned really well. They're fun to eat and make for a good shareable option. The chilled oysters were also surprisingly fresh and refreshing. They were some of the fresher oysters I've had in a while, which was a pleasant surprise. Our server was friendly and attentive throughout the meal, checking in regularly. Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere, food, and drink selection enough that I'd definitely come back to try their happy hour. If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely be stopping by.

The location was unbeatable since everything we had planned was on Santana Row. Restaurants, shopping, Westfield Valley Fair, and the Winchester Mystery House were all within easy walking distance. The bed was also one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've slept in. Just be aware that this is an upscale hotel with upscale fees. Early check-in before 10 am is $100, early check-in by 1 pm is $60, and valet parking is $60 per day with in-and-out privileges. We arrived around 9:30 am but decided to wait until check-in since the early check-in fee wasn't worth it for us. We came back around 2 pm and were pleasantly surprised they checked us in at no extra charge. We also skipped valet and parked in one of the nearby garages for about $15 per day. We'd definitely stay here again and next time book a longer stay to enjoy it even more.
