Not sure how I hadn't heard of this place until recently, but I'm really glad I finally did. I'd say this is one of my favorite Indian spots. First off, definitely not for the spice-averse lol. Everything had a solid level of heat, but in a really flavorful way rather than just being spicy for the sake of it. The food was also plated beautifully, which made the whole experience feel a bit more elevated even though it still worked perfectly as a casual lunch spot. Service was great too - our waitress had solid recommendations and helped guide us toward a good mix of dishes (especially when it came to estimating portion sizes vs number of people in our party). No wait, smooth experience, and just a really nice, relaxed lunch vibe. The Water Chestnut and Green Pea Kulcha was my fave! Came here on a weekend, mainly because we accidentally missed our baekjong reservation, and it was pretty empty... a little sad, but wanted to give it a try anyways. They're in santana row, so the usual cute pretty aesthetic. We ate on their outdoor seating. We got the butter chicken, lamb shank and two cocktails. Fitoor is the place for modern Indian cuisine with a twist. The Asado Brazino was delicious, I really like the fried potato crisps on top, it gave the dish a nice texture. We had been to this place for a birthday dinner in March, a bit late with my review here. Ordered, amritsari fish, chicken balchao, avocado & paneer galouti, dum aloo kashmiri chili korma, tandoori roti, garlic naan, and rice kheer brulee carmel ice cream. We also had drinks, mother nature, mango bite, and catalina sounds sauvignon blanc. Live music was as add on. I recently tried the butter chicken and kofta here. The ambiance is definitely a highlight, the interior is beautifully done and creates a really nice dining experience. That said, the food didn't quite live up to expectations, especially for the price. The butter chicken leaned heavily on the cashew flavor, which overpowered the dish, and it was also on the saltier side. The kofta was decent. This was the first time my girlfriend and I tried such an appetizer and really enjoyed the flavors and textures. The slices of mangos gave a sweet flavoring while the crackers lended a good crunch to the dish. The Prawn and Fish Curry - 1/5 stars but also 5/5 If this dish only had the fish, I would rate it a 5/5. The fish was very nicely cooked, tender, and had a great flavor with the curry that had a very good spice kick. For those who don't like spice, I would avoid. However the dish also had shrimp and it was some of the most fishy/ocean-y tasting shrimp I've ever had. Texture wise, the shrimp was well cooked but I just could not quite explain why the shrimp did not taste well to me, it was like taking a bite out of the ocean and not in a good way. Mango bite 12 mocktail.... 3/5?? Again, my mind was just torn because on initial taste the mango flavor was nice and pleasant but there was some type of acidic aftertaste. Have been here multiply time and absolutely love the place. Tried their chestnut kulcha which is amazing. Their Panner lababdar and dal makhni is very yummy too. The service is quick and the ambience is great. It can be a bit dark for some people but I like it. They also have fire dancers on some days. So check the times before heading here. I was very excited to try this restaurant; the food looked amazing, the restaurant looked beautiful, and it even came with entertainment. So there were some high expectations. Made reservations; we were greeted and seated. The staff was kind and pleasant. We asked about the fan favorites, ordered a few appetizers and small bites, and then moved on to ordering our main. I'm a fan of Indian food, and I've tried a few places in the past. Fitoor was good, but unfortunately, it wasn't my favorite. That doesn't mean the food wasn't beautifully plated or that we didn't finish it, because God knows we will eat it before we leave it, haha. I'm glad we tried it. The restaurant was beautiful. Came to Fitoor for a team dinner and we were excited to try this modern take on Indian food! We had a reservation for a group of 10 on a Thursday night at 6pm and came a little early for the 4-6pm happy hour. When we arrived, the host was talking to a customer on the phone so we were waiting in the lobby for 5-10 minutes before being seated. We ordered a few items off the happy hour menu and then placed more orders from the main menu. I appreciated how the main menu listed the vegetarian options on one half and the non-vegetarian options on the other. Potato Papdi Chaat, Puffed Jhalmoorie (2/5): Looked tasty. The papdi added a nice crunch to the dish. However, the dish was cold and bland. Could have been spicier Avocado and Paneer Galouti (3/5): Interesting presentation! The apple salsa was tasty and I've never had something like this before. It was a good contrast to the black garlic puree. The galouti itself was very mushy. It would have been better if it was crispier or at least if there was something that added texture. The galouti could have been more flavorful as well. Figs Paneer Tikka (2/5): The paneer itself was not very flavorful but the figs were tasty. I liked the idea of figs on top of the paneer. Mumbai Dabeli Croquette (3.5/5): Similar to the potato papdi chaat in terms of ingredients but this one was better seasoned. Almond Crusted Malai Kofta (2/5): The kofta balls could have had more seasoning but these were decent. However, the gravy was too sweet. Tasted almost like a dessert Double Butter Daal Makhani (3/5): We enjoyed this a little more than the malai kofta. It was savory but it could have more spices and it was almost too buttery. Butter Naan (3/5): Good portion size but not much butter on the naan. It was somewhat dry. Shahi Tukda Tres Leches (1/5): Looked pretty but it tasted very artificial and the carrot halwa had a strange aftertaste. The bread is supposed to be toasted but it did not seem like it was. Very small portion size Malai Choux Bun (2.5/5): Similar to the tres leches, this was presented very nicely. The ice cream had a good flavor but the choux bun tasted too eggy for us. The candy and milk cubes on the side did not add to the dish either. Small portion size Boondi raita (1/5): This tasted very sour yet sweet? Did not land for any of us Embers of the Monk (1/5): Very bitter. Thought the drink would be at least a little sweet because of the passion fruit but the bitters were overpowering Mother Nature (3/5): I was very intrigued to try essentially a rasam vodka cocktail as I have never heard of this combo. The rasam itself had a nice kick to it. However, there was barely any vodka so it just felt like I was drinking iced rasam Kokum Spritz (4/5): Better drink of the night. I am not a fan of sweet and spicy mixed together, but if you like that flavor combo, you would probably like this drink. Chicken Dum Biryani (2/5): My coworkers got this and they said it was not very flavorful and that this dish was missing the layers that a traditional biryani typically has Also thought there should be some South Asian music playing in the background instead of generic American pop to match the theme and cuisine of the restaurant. Would have elevated the dining experience. Overall, the service was quick and drinks and food were aesthetic and creative. However, for the flavor, Fitoor is very expensive. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a great overall vibe. Even though we were seated outside facing the sidewalk, it still felt like a really enjoyable atmosphere. We were seated fairly quickly for a busy weekday night, which was a great start. Service was a bit slower to begin, and because of where we were sitting, there were a few moments where servers bumped into our chairs while moving through the space. It wasn't ideal, but it didn't take away too much from the experience. The food and drinks were absolutely amazing and more than made up for the minor inconveniences. I had been to Fitoor when it just opened up. Over the weekends it has an amazing vibe - with music and dancers. The decor is fabulous! I went on a week day and enjoyed a nice meal and some cocktails. Loved the bathtub presentation of the lavender cocktail. The Malvani crab cake was very flavorful (could reduce the salt a little). The servers were all very attentive and friendly. Review for 4/28/25 We ordered the papadam that comes with 3 of their house chutney dips and it was a good starter. Out of curiosity we ordered the butter, cheese, and garlic naan and we all agreed the cheese naan was the best one! The Old Delhi Butter Chicken was really good, a lot of people on Yelp ordered that one and I did like the thickness of the sauce. It was good with some Naan bread or rice, but none of that are included. Their steamed rice and cumin rice come with a big portion and the 3 of us couldn't finish one bowl of it. The Lamb Meatballs were amazing, but I think $24 for 6 meatballs is expensive. We were disappointed with the Almost Crusted Malai Kofta, none of us liked it. The texture wasn't so pleasing and it was doughy. I don't recommend the mango chaat masala mocktail, It was a unique taste of sour and spicy, but to stay on the safe side, I do recommend the guava mocktail. The service was mediocre considering being an empty restaurant. It was all of our first times at Fitoor and our server said everything was good on the menu which wasn't very helpful, he just read whatever the description said on the menu. The ambiance was kind of dark and unwelcoming. It was pretty dark inside and they brought us a lamp to our table; oh yea it was 1pm. Kind of mediocre Indian food. On the waiter's recommendation, I tried the crab cake and shrimp, and lababdor paneer. The crab cake was ok but the shrimp was too salty and also very small.
