4.7/5.0 Our hunt for Dal Baati took us to Garam Mirchi in Santa Clara, and we're so glad it did -- the place absolutely delivered Here's what we tried and how it fared: Drinks: Mango Mastani -- Yum! Just a very large portion Spicy Guava -- Super yum, but again oversized Masala Chai -- A perfect, comforting cup Food: Rajasthani Pyaaz Kachori Chaat -- Loved the flavors; the yogurt and chutneys complemented the kachori beautifully Masala Khichiya -- Total nostalgia from Mumbai days; hit the spot Gatte ki Sabzi (gravy) & Bajra Roti -- Portions are big. Good, not great; slightly sour for my taste. Bajra roti felt tough, likely not fresh. Paneer Manchurian (gravy) -- Tasty and generously portioned -- enough for four! Chili Garlic Noodles -- Flavor bomb: spicy, garlicky, and delicious Dal Baati -- Undisputed star of the show highly recommend! Ghevar with Rabdi -- sweet harmony, zero drama Two thumbs up (forgot pic!) Overall, Minimalist décor with a clear Rajasthani touch, warm staff, and big portions -- but the flavors truly shine

*Vegetarian Foodie Review* Garam Mirchi has always been my favorite restaurant. I have been going to their Fremont location for a while now, so I was so happy when they had their new branch opening in Santa Clara which is much closer to my home. I have always been a fan of their Indo-Chinese dishes and Raj Kachori. Usual orders: 1) Raj Kachori: 5/5 -- The best I have ever had and the closest to what you get in India 2) Paneer Chili Dry: 5/5 -- Super yummy and flavorful. Hit the right spice nodes 3) Soya Chili Dry: 5/5 -- I never could have imagined soya would taste this good. Hats off to this amazing recipe prepared here. The best dish ever 4) Schezwan Fried Rice: 4/5 -- Wouldn't say the best, but definitely close to the best ones I have had elsewhere. It's flavorful, has good amount of veggies, and the portion is generous 5) Kids Hakka Noodles: 5/5 -- My 5 year old's favorite on the menu. I usually request for less oil and they help accomodate 6) Platinum Thali: 5/5 -- I usually avoid this because I prefer dishes without ghee, and most of the thali items here are made in ghee. It is my husband's favorite and his usual order The ambiance is gorgeous -- striking, well-designed, and perfect for celebrations and special occasions. I love the ambiance even better than the Fremont location. Service is fairly quick and the servers are super attentive.

The restaurant itself is very nice with comfortable seating and a pleasant ambiance. The staff is friendly, though the service could definitely be a little bit faster. While the overall experience was decent, the ordering process was frustrating. The server heavily insists that everyone order the Raj Kachori - which is on the pricier side and might not actually be what you want. He went out of his way to convince us not to order the chat platter, making up random excuses like saying the other chaat options would be "too sweet" for us (without even asking if I like sweet food--which I do! ), or claiming he'd "have to check with the cook" if they could even make the platter components individually. If you look around, almost every table has a Raj Kachori because of this hard sell. I've ordered it here multiple times before, but my advice is to be wise, stick to your guns, and just order what you actually want. The Hakka Noodles were disappointing and lacked that authentic taste, so I'd skip them. The Manchurian had good flavor but felt overcooked and slightly burnt, which seems to happen most times. On a random note, the tissue paper they provide is really, really bad. It's so flimsy that you can't even use a single piece properly without it falling apart. It's a good spot for vegetarian food, but I really didn't appreciate the server pushing specific items so aggressively and shooting down our preferences when we didn't ask for recommendations as I've been there many times.

A very cute little restaurant that somehow serves fresh made, from scratch authentic Rajasthani fare and legit street style indo Chinese. At first you think - why are these cuisines combined, they could easily be two restaurants. But once you start eating and drinking all the yummy treats there you forget all those questions. So let me address both! Rajasthani - light fluffy and flavorful Raj Kachori, I really liked the stuffing at the bottom of it. The Khichiya papad churi is a good crunchy bite, the moong dal pakoras had deep coriander seed flavor, both would be great with beer. The dal baati churma are the highlight, especially the panchmel dal is as good as it can get. The bajra and jowar rotis were sooo good and millets are so healthy. The gatte ki sabzi was good too but I'd recommend getting it in a thali, it gets monotonic if that's all you are having, The chutneys are very good, don't skip on them especially the red one. Indo Chinese - is equally good and also everything made fresh in a very hot wok. The veggie momos are made from scratch and beautiful, Hakka noodles superbly catch the char of the wok and are light (not like greasy versions elsewhere). The triple Schezwan is a speciality there so I got it and it lived up to the hype! My favorite of all the things I had today, very well executed, great heat and that fantastic street style flavor. The drinks were yummy too and made from scratch. Other Indian places have these drinks too but they are heavily processed and so taste bad, but these are made fresh and so the flavors are there. We got the mango mastani, aam panna, Kala khatta - loved all of them. If you've not had gola in a while you should get the Kala khatta Freshly made and flavorful - that's the mantra of Garam Mirchi, I'll be back for sure

A good five stars for good food, good service and nice place. We tried silver rajasthabi thali, chole bhature, guava mocktail, paneer chilli dry and rak kachori! The food was delivered quickly. The portion sizes are good and all the items we tried were delicious. Will definitely return to try other things as they have a huge menu and options. Special shot out to staff and ownership who provided great service even during a busy weekend hour to make the experience amazing.

I've come here many times and it's been nice that folks remember us all. Food: Today being Mother's Day, we had Mother's Day special thaali. This was beyond the platinum thalis that we usually order. It has a good mix of everything traditional that's on the regular menu. Generous unlimited portions that keep coming. Kids plates are kids approved as well! Service: Service is just way above par and beyond expectations. Vinay and Vamsi were just awesome. Vinay was superb in his suggestions on options we could take up for our thaalis and gave us mothers extra reason to smile today. Vamsi was superb in his serving and took care of the kids so moms could take a break as well. This all spoke to the amazing attitude the staff has for their guests. Loved it. Thank you so much. Ambience: Chatty and chill vibes. Decor is good as well. Nice Photobook areas as well. Restroom: Clean and well kept. Parking: No issues at all. All in all, great going. Will come again. :)

If you're looking for incredibly authentic and flavorful Indian cuisine in Santa Clara, Garam Mirchi is an absolute must-visit. I ordered their Rajasthani Thali, and it completely blew me away. Every single item on the platter tasted home-cooked and packed with traditional spices

Tried Garam Mirchi recently and honestly, it was such a satisfying experience. We went for the Platinum thali and it truly felt like a full feast -- so many dishes, and everything kept coming fresh. It's perfect if you want to try a variety instead of just ordering one or two items. The Ker Sangri with Bajra roti especially stood out -- not something you easily find in the Bay Area and it tasted really authentic. They also had a limited-time mango menu, and that ended up being one of the highlights for me. The aam ras puri and mango dahi vada were so good and felt very seasonal and fresh. The place itself is spacious with a nice, modern vibe -- comfortable for families or even bigger groups. Service was friendly and the overall experience felt relaxed, not rushed. If you're looking for a pure veg spot with authentic Rajasthani flavors and lots of variety, this is definitely worth trying. I'd go back again, especially while the mango dishes are still around!

It was our first time trying Rajasthani food and we didn't really know what to order. Our waiter, Rakesh, helped us out with some recommendations of their popular dishes! - Raj Kachori (5/5): I've never tried a chaat like this. It's a large puri ball filled with some potatoes, beetroot and other fillings with yogurt and sweet chutney. It's pretty large and can be a good shareable. Also comes with a side of spicier chutney if you want. We enjoyed the mix of flavors and it looks cool when served! - panchmel daal (6/5): this was our favorite dish. It sounded like such a basic order but we were taken aback by it. It possibly is the best daal I've ever had -bindi ki sabzi (4/5): I wanted to love this, and the flavors were all there but the okra was quite fibrous which made each bite not as enjoyable as they could have been if they were more tender. We ate all of this with rotis as sides and they were perfectly made. I will definitely come back here and curious to try their combos or plates for more variety!

We were lucky enough to hit this new restaurant on Valentine's Day. They had a special menu. The vibes were immaculate. Felt transported to Rajasthan, one of my favorite places on earth. The decor is lovely. We were especially impressed with the mural of the desi woman with the laptop. They offer Rajasthani specialties including sangri, a Thar desert vegetable. The Raj kachori was excellent, great spicing and a satisfying crunch. Dal bhaati churma was delicious. We honestly didn't wanna leave. It was like leaving Rajasthan all over again .

Overall good experience. Went for lunch and got there a bit late as a result of World Cup soccer traffic. The food has great flavors. Very distinct. Very crisp but at times combinations. Service is super fast probably because the kitchen was closing. Not normal low quality ingredients rather very good and tasty. I would go again.

Enjoyed a weekday lunch here. Lot of variety for the entire family. The Jain options are abundant and the Jain food was really good too. We tried the platinum thali as well as a few Indo- Chinese options.

We got the lunch special, which has pre-selected items for the day. One of the items was an item i was going to order separately, but decided to switch it out when I heard it was going to be in the special. The employee helpfully offered some popular alternatives. The food was absolutely delicious! A good amount of spice and not like some of the places more local to me. (I'm from Sac.) We ordered the following: Special Lunch Thali, Pav Bhaji, and Puranpoli. The only time I could've done without was the Puranpoli. I didn't care for the flavor of the spice/sweetness, but that's just me personally. I've never had that dessert before from anywhere and knew I'd regret not having the menu item that is the same as the restaurant's name. Definitely going to be craving the food from here! I ordered the egg biryani, butter chicken, and their friday curry flight that came with the choice of 3 curries, a salad, raita, and naan. In my naivety I hoped it was some natural food color using beetroot. But I later learnt from them that it was not. It left me appalled at the liberal use of such toxic artificial colors. Colors aside, the chicken itself was delicious. But I will make sure to ask them beforehand next time and order something that doesn't have colors. *naan-5/5- this was amazing. Hot from the tandoor. It wasn't charred at the bottom. It was light and large. It was clear that it was made by someone who knew their craft. I will come back here just for the naan. *samosa chaat-3/5- this made me sick, I had an upset tummy for a few days after. It was hot day so I m assuming they had problems with their chutney or maybe it was the samosa with the potato filling. Upset tummy aside, the chaat flavors were decent, not the best of the lot but decent nonetheless.

First off, the delivery was a smooth process, dot on time and packaged with such precision. Ankush, who runs the show at Delhicacies came to do the honors and as well left detailed instruction on how to go about preparing one of the starter dishes that we had ordered (Bhalle Papdi chaat that is). The menu we chose included Bhalle Paapdi Chaat, Cocktail Samosas, Paneer Tikka Masala, Chana Masala, Baingan Bharta, accompanied by Roomali Roti and Lacchay Pyaaz as a side salad. The Bhalle Paapdi Chaat was an instant crowd-pleaser, with the perfect balance of crispy papdi, fresh bhalle, cool sweet yogurt, tangy tamarind along with green sauces, a secret masala powder and a garnish of beetroot , pomegranate and cilantro. All of these were packed separately and instructions were provided (step by step) to prepare the end result which tasted out of the world good. It was refreshing yet packed with flavors that kept everyone asking for seconds. The Cocktail Samosas were golden, crisp, and filled with a spiced potato mixture that made them an ideal finger food--perfectly bite-sized and not greasy at all. For the main course, the Paneer Tikka Masala (PTM) stole the show with its rich, velvety sauce that coated the tender paneer in just the right amount of spice. The flavors were balanced yet bold, making it a standout dish. The earthy flavor in the paneer made it finger licking good and definitely was the biggest hit of the evening. The Chana Masala had the perfect texture--soft chickpeas simmered in a well-spiced gravy that had just the right amount of heat and tang. Cubes of paneer in there definitely made it a good overall combination and complemented with the PTM. The smoky and flavorful Baingan Bharta added an earthy depth to the meal as well. The eggplant was roasted beautifully, bringing out its natural flavors, which paired wonderfully with the Romali Roti. The roti was soft, thin, and warm, making it the ideal vehicle to soak up the gravies. We did end up heating the rotis in our microwave oven for about 10-15 seconds in batches and they remained perfect in their texture and taste. The Lacchay Pyaaz--freshly sliced onions with a sprinkle of masala--added a crunchy, refreshing bite to balance the richness of the other dishes. Overall, Delhicacies delivered an out of the world authentic North Indian culinary experience with each dish tasting as though it was prepared with care and precision. The food was flavorful, perfectly spiced, and served fresh. Our guests were impressed, and we couldn't have been happier with the quality of food and service of delivery. If you're looking for reliable and delicious Indian catering, Delhicacies should be at the top of your list! Give them a chance and thank me later. You are welcome!!!
