Woke up with a beautiful view and a grateful heart
Katie D.

This weekend my girlfriends and I returned to Valencia Hotel after 10yrs to celebrate another milestone. All the staff from the lobby to the cafe was so gracious and friendly. We were able to get the same room with the balcony. In the morning we had breakfast in the hotel. After mentioning to our server Maria, it was a bday celebration, she went far and beyond to make it extra special. She put our cupcakes on a decorative plate, she made sure we had shade and helped us capture some memories. These little acts of kindness added to our pleasant stay at the Valencia. Cheers to my girlfriends and our friendship. We are grateful it was spent at the beautiful Valencia. Thank you!

Hotel Valencia in Santana Row left us pretty disappointed and underwhelmed overall. The rooftop bar views were nice, and Dani and Sebastian behind the bar were great, but that's where the positives mostly end. The rooftop pool being closed during our stay was a big letdown since it was a major reason we booked in the first place. On top of that, the last night was frustrating, a group of high schoolers celebrating prom woke us up multiple times even after security was called. The overall guest atmosphere felt pretentious and less than welcoming, which really shaped the tone of the stay. We understand a hotel can't control everything, but it's worth being aware that a big part of the experience depends on the clientele you'll be sharing spaces with, including elevators, hallways, and the pool area when it's open. Overall, it felt like a lot of hype without the experience to match.

Spectacular boutique hotel at Santana Row in San Jose. The rooms are cozy and beautiful. The housekeeping service is great and I love the body wash and lotion. The gym is more of a room with 2 ellipticals and a few weights. They give you a cocktail when you check in so who really cares about anything else!! Haha

The view from our suite!

A European Escape in Santana Row! Hotel Valencia feels like a little slice of Europe--charming, stylish, and perfectly located. My suite was spacious, spotless, and super cozy... well, mostly. The bedroom was freezing while the rest of the space stayed warm, which made sleeping a bit tricky for someone like me who runs hot. But honestly? The incredible staff, especially the sweetest valet team, more than made up for it. Would I stay here again? Absolutely! The beauty of the hotel and the unbeatable location make it a no-brainer. Can't wait for my next visit!

A very beautiful hotel. The hospitality from the moment we walked to the front door, check in, to check out was great. All transactions went smoothly and even upgraded to a balcony room with late check out. The room was clean and the view was awesome. The only issue that I had was that there wasn't a large enough refrigerator in the room. They had a small bar fridge that had a lock on it and we did get a key during check in - however the capacity was only large enough to fit drinks. Parking was interesting. There are parking garages around the area, however we ended up parking on the bottom lot and there was absolutely no cell reception down there to scan and pay for parking ($10 for the day). Also, it seemed like everyone else had that issue which created traffic when trying to get out of the parking lot. We were down there for 35 minutes. This has absolutely nothing to do with Hotel Valencia but if you plan on needing parking, just beware of this. There was also charging stations available on the main floor - but like I said, downloading the app was difficult so make sure to connect to the free WIFI prior to entering the garage.

I've always wanted to try this hotel out and finally had a staycation here recently! We really enjoyed the experience and would come back. When we pulled up with the car, there was the option for $50 valet but we wanted to charge an EV which they couldn't do for us, so it was better to park overnight at the Hatton garage (the Olin garage is a little closer but doesn't have as much charging) for $10. The valet staff helped take our bags to the room still which was nice. As soon as we checked in, we were offered complimentary palomas and within an hour of checking in, we also got complimentary chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne sent to the room! I wasn't expecting any of that, it really enhanced the experience. The view from the room was pretty, we could see the pool and the hills of the surrounding area. The walkability is also unbeatable, with so much shopping, restaurants, coffee, and fitness classes within minutes of walking. Lastly, something I really enjoyed that I don't see other hotels do is you can pay $30 to check in early (like 11am) or also pay $30 for a late checkout (3pm) if they aren't at full capacity. We utilized this and it allowed us to get more out of our time there.

Nice hotel . Well priced on a holiday weekend too . Its location is one of the best things about it . Close to valley faire mall and had a lot of restaurants within walking distance. The room was nice as well . The inside of the hotel has some nice architecture and features . It does have a restaurant and bar in it but they do have dress codes .

In December, I was a little scrambled trying to figure out what to do for my birthday, and I honestly couldn't have landed in a better place. One night while I was at the bar, Victor, the manager I often see there, told me about the Christmas experience on the rooftop and suggested it as a great spot for a birthday get-together. He was absolutely right. The rooftop at the Valencia Hotel was perfect. It felt like a true winter wonderland. It was beautifully decorated, cozy, and festive. There were specialty Christmas cocktails, delicious hors d'oeuvres, and even whiskey tastings where you could sample different varieties. They had heaters everywhere and plenty of blankets, which made the whole experience warm and inviting despite the chilly weather. The service really stood out. The staff on the rooftop was just awesome. They were attentive, kind, and consistently checking in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. My friends had an amazing time ordering from the holiday menu (whether custom-created or seasonal, it was spot-on), and the overall vibe spot was a vibe! This was truly one of the best experiences I've had in a long time, and it made my birthday feel special without being stressful. Huge thanks to Victor and the entire rooftop team for creating such a memorable night. I'll absolutely be back--and recommending this place to everyone.

I was just passing through visiting friends and wanted a more lux experience so I booked a room here. I had a great stay overall. It was a weekday in August so it was kinda dead. I was the only one at the pool for a few hours. They don't have actual pool service for food but you can order room service from a phone by the pool and they will deliver to the pool, but be very clear where you are because they delivered mine to my room and I waited over an hour before I realized it wasn't coming. Because it was in my room. Also they had a "water emergency" and advised the water would be shut off at 9 am. I had planned to hang out at this pricey hotel until checkout but had to scrap that plan. Instead of just offering compensation I had to ask for it - they just comped my valet. I didn't complain that I wanted money off the room. Mostly because my name is Karen. Also, this location is great, cute shopping and eating nearby and the mysterious Winchester House is walkable.

Dog

Holiday stay done right (and dog-approved!) My girlfriend and I, along with our dog Bucky, stayed at Hotel Valencia on Santana Row during the holidays, and it was exactly the reset we needed. We were back home visiting family (which we loved), but sneaking away for a night here turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip. From check-in to checkout, everything was seamless. The hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays--festive without being over the top. When we walked into our room, we were genuinely surprised to find a handwritten welcome note, a bottle of wine, and chocolate-covered strawberries waiting for us. Thoughtful touches like that immediately set the tone. The staff is where this place really shines. Every single person we interacted with was friendly, approachable, and professional. The front desk team stood out in particular--warm, helpful, and made us feel less like guests and more like family. Valet was equally impressive: efficient, courteous, and on top of everything. If you're traveling with a dog, this place is a win. Bucky had the time of his life meeting staff and guests, and he especially loved people-watching from our room as shoppers rushed through Santana Row. This isn't just a "pet-allowed" hotel--it's genuinely pet-welcoming. The bar deserves its own shoutout. I've been on a Carajillo kick lately, and even though it wasn't on the menu, I asked the bartender if she could make one. She looked it up, had all the ingredients, and absolutely nailed it. That kind of flexibility and willingness to go the extra mile really sums up the service here. Bottom line: Hotel Valencia exceeded expectations. Beautiful property, festive atmosphere, outstanding staff, and thoughtful details throughout. This will absolutely be our go-to spot when we're back home--and I'd especially recommend it to couples and anyone traveling with a dog.

The Old Fashioned was quite nice.

Located in the Las Vegas of the Silicon Valley, stopped by Hotel Valencia bar after work and it was exactly the little midweek escape I needed a cozy seat, great ambiance, and a perfectly made drink in hand. Loved just unwinding, sipping slowly, and getting lost in my audiobook while the evening buzzed softly around me. Sometimes the best nights are the quiet ones. 10/10 would come back for another solo wind-down

Unfortunately, several parts of our stay brought the experience down. The food at the lobby bar was disappointing, and we also received a completely random call to our room around 4:00 a.m. and again 10 am for no reason, which was obviously frustrating and disruptive. The biggest issue, however, was the valet service. The attitude and rudeness we experienced from the valet staff was completely unnecessary and left a very negative impression. Valet is often the first and last interaction a guest has with a hotel, so the way guests are treated there matters. At a nice hotel, I expect basic courtesy and professionalism, especially from a service guests are paying for. It's unfortunate because there were things we genuinely liked about the hotel, but the valet experience in particular overshadowed a lot of the positives. Hospitality is about more than having a beautiful property. How guests are treated is just as important, and that is ultimately why I could only give our stay three stars.

We were traveling from San Francisco and took Caltrain before switching to the light rail to get to our hotel. The best surprise was that the light rail stop was literally right in front of the hotel! I had no idea when we booked it, so that was an amazing convenience. The downside to being that close to public transportation is that you can definitely hear it. In the mornings, we could hear the buses and trains arriving, along with the beeping sounds they make. It wasn't a huge deal for us, but if you're a light sleeper, it's something to keep in mind. The room was the perfect size for my daughter and me. We were both able to spread out and actually unpack all of our things, which felt especially nice after staying in a micro-hotel for the few days before. The bathroom was also a good size and everything felt very clean, which is one of the most important things to me when staying in a hotel. I want to feel like I'm in a clean, safe space, and this hotel definitely delivered on that. One of my favorite features was the blackout curtains. When you pulled them all the way down, they blocked out all the daylight. You could honestly forget what time of day it was! They were absolutely perfect for those vacation afternoon naps. The location was probably the biggest selling point for us. Not only were we right next to public transportation, but so many things were within walking distance. We didn't realize when we booked that we were staying in an area with a lot of bars, but thankfully it didn't feel like an overly rowdy or drunken area. We walked about 20 minutes to the SAP Center for a concert and then walked back to the hotel at night, and we felt completely safe the entire time. We were also able to walk to two different restaurants that we really enjoyed, and there was even a little mini-golf place nearby that we wanted to try. Unfortunately, the hours never worked with our schedule, but it was nice having so many options close by. After coming back from the concert around 11 p.m., we were even able to stop at a cookie shop and an ice cream shop for a late-night treat before heading back to the hotel. The area was still busy with people at the bars, but everyone we encountered was friendly. Another convenience was being able to leave our bags at the hotel after checking out while we went to brunch before heading to the airport. That made our last morning so much easier. One slightly odd thing is that the hotel is connected to a restaurant, so you need your room key to access the lobby restrooms. After we had checked out and were waiting for our ride to the airport, we needed to use the restroom and had to go back to the front desk and ask for a key. It's a small thing, but it would have been nice to know beforehand. Overall, I really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and comfortable, the blackout curtains were fantastic, the staff was friendly, and the location was incredibly convenient. Being able to take public transportation directly to the hotel and then walk to restaurants, the concert venue, and other things around downtown made our trip so much easier. For a trip where we were trying to get around without constantly using Uber or a car, this was a great location.
