The Hotel was amazing. But the food blew me away. Everything on the menu was amazing and the service was great. Perfect atmosphere for being in a Hotel.

I expected a true 5-star experience, but this stay fell a bit short. While the staff was kind and welcoming. The complimentary glass of sparkling wine at check-in was a nice touch. The room itself needed attention. The towels were torn and the bathroom faucet was loose, which was disappointing at this price point. I specifically booked this room for the amenities. Since there's not much to do in the area, I had planned on staying in my room the majority of the time to relax and unwind. I was disappointed when upon arrival I was told both the bar and restaurant would be closed the entire duration of my stay. It really impacted the experience. The property does have a sauna, steam room, and a heated pool, though I didn't use the pool due to rainy weather. They also have bikes however, we were unable to use them due to them being in use the whole weekend. Overall, great staff and potential, but maintenance issues and closed amenities made this feel less than 5-star.

    their initial email to me

Do NOT stay here if you want them to STEAL your valuables and have the AUDACITY TO GIVE YOU ATTITUDE!!! Would give 0 stars if I can!!! They replied to me and changed their statement as to what actually happened. First no one went into the room, now they did!! I've stayed at Shashi Hotel in Palo Alto around 5-6 times and had made it my preferred hotel because of its location and past good experiences. Until this visit, I never had a single problem -- so I expected professionalism and care. During my recent stay, some of my personal trading cards (worth $100s!!!) went missing from the room. When I reported it, two front desk employees insisted that no one had entered the room and repeatedly claimed that staff "does not steal." They gave my boyfriend the key to check the room himself -- which he did -- and sure enough, the cards were gone, though the bag they had been in remained. What shocked me the most was the attitude of the front desk representative, Ariana, during a follow-up call. Instead of acknowledging the situation, she was dismissive, condescending, and mocking. She repeatedly told me that "the hotel does not steal" and accused me of being "disrespectful" simply for describing my own items as stolen. She refused to provide management contact information at first and claimed not to know if the hotel even had a policy for missing items. The tone of the call made me feel belittled and defensive, even though this was entirely the hotel's mishandling, not anything I did. After I escalated the situation and said I was going to file a polie report and a lawsuit, a supervisor called a few hours later and told me the items had been located. This only highlighted the inconsistencies: multiple staff had told me no one had entered the room, yet somehow the items were "found" after my escalation. At no point was I informed whether hallway security footage was checked, and I never received names of staff who accessed the room. While the items were ultimately recovered, the experience was extremely stressful and frustrating. I felt disrespected by staff, completely disregarded, and forced to chase down answers for my own personal belongings. I cannot understand how a hotel can allow this level of unprofessionalism and audacity toward a loyal guest. I hope management at Shashi Hotel takes this seriously, improves staff training, and implements clear policies for missing items. No guest should ever feel blamed or mocked for reporting missing property. UPDATE AFTER REPLY: What is especially concerning is management's public response to my review. They stated they handled the situation professionally from the beginning -- that was not my experience, and the recorded call reflects that. They also claimed the bag was placed in a "trash bag," which is inaccurate; it was a regular paper bag. More importantly, their response referenced housekeeping access, which conflicts with the repeated assurances that no one entered the room because checkout was at 1:00 PM. If no one entered, how were the items moved? If someone did enter, why were only those specific items removed while the room itself remained uncleaned? The shifting explanations are what undermine trust. While the items were ultimately recovered and I withdrew the police report, the stress, dismissiveness, and contradictory statements made this an extremely upsetting experience. As a returning guest who had stayed here multiple times, I expected professionalism and transparency -- not defensiveness and changing explanations.

    Complementary wine

Wow, for sure a hidden gem! Love the attention to details. First, I got greeted with complementary sparkling wine. Felt taken care of. Secondly, the aroma and amphitheater was delectable, as the scent and lighting set the mood. The lobby area was clean, classy, and modern. The pianist sounded nice and the bar was really great. Shout out to the bar tender, he knows how to make a good lemon drop. Lastly, the room and its amenities. DAILY TURNDOWN SERVICE. That's right day turn down services. They take care of you! From slippers, to high quality tea, and to included water bottles, the hotel staff makes a weekend getaway feel a lot more luxurious. Aside from that, the room and its bedding to its lighting settings, sets this hotel apart from any other place. Looking forward to coming here again.

Shashi Hotel is a great stay and conveniently located in Mountain View! Close to the Shoreline Amphitheater, Google HQ, Meta, NASA and Microsoft. Across the way is the Century Theater and down the road a 7-11 and the freeway. Travel to and from this hotel isn't too far from the major airports, SFO and OAK, but SJC being the closest. I appreciate the free parking with complimentary EV charging, access to their gym of free weights, treadmills and Pelotons. Other amenities include access to their hot tub, sauna and steam room, as well as bikes to get around the area. Service was kind and cordially from check-in and housekeeping was timely and pleasant. Appreciated the turn down service. The rooms themselves feel elevated and modern. Clean, quiet and no weird odors. You can adjust the temperature accordingly, change colors of the lighting for ambiance, play music that's soothing for sleep with a wake up option on the TV. The latter seems very considerate for light sleepers or those with babies or children. Wasn't able to use the extent of the amenities, but enjoyed the gym and helped myself to some coffee at their little coffee shop downstairs. The hotel itself wasn't exactly bustling over the weekend, but it did have a fair share of guests. Highly recommend for those visiting from out of town if any of the mentioned areas are a destination for you and out of it's sheer convenient location being pretty central to the peninsula and south bay. Would also make for a good staycation, I do wish they had spa service here. Great room rates as well!

    you can change light colors!

absolutely my favorite place for a weekend getaway! they started by giving us sparkling wine at the front desk, there was live music playing when we checked in, and the hotel itself smells just like gaiac wood. we also tried the restaurant and the bar, in my opinion, the food was more exciting than the drinks, and our seat could have been in a better spot. my favorite part of the stay has to be the room itself, they provide robes, a fridge, a safe,...but the TV is massive! and you can do a lot more than just watching it (changing the screensaver, the lights color in the room, set music, request items...) i find their app also very useful, but the mobile key might be tricky to use. will definitely come back! we still need to try the pool, sauna, and the gym! no rating yet cause i have tried everything.

I was fortunate to be able to stay here for a work trip and the location can't be beat. It was a 20 minute drive in from the San Jose airport and 6 minute drive from downtown Mountain view with its myriad dining spots. The hotel itself is new (built within the last five years) with an interesting architecture and LEED certified building. The warm wood tones and steel mix are nice through the lobby and the wood tones (I believe laminate is the flooring for the rooms) are attractive. Half of the rooms look out on the open courtyard. Parking is easy with a garage connected to the hotel and complementary with the rate. The mattresses are nice and firm and housekeeping is not only kind (I couldn't sort out the cooling system and they were quick to help) but also offers a turndown service. If we ever travel back to the area for a personal trip this would be my hotel of choice.

Free spa with showers, sauna, and steam room. Also has lotions, oils etc.

Awesome hotel for a quick staycation. Reasonably priced. Nice n Quick check in. Free car charging which is a huge plus. I looooove when hotels have robes and slippers. The pool area is really nice. If you drink alcohol you'll love the outdoor bar. We had a quick dinner at the restaurant. I had the braised lamb shank and Omgsh it was so delicious 10/10. Quick drive to the movie theater. We didn't have breakfast there but we should have. Next time for sure.

Shashi hotel is 5/5. The front desk was very friendly and helpful! The decoration and overall atmosphere in building was the best. Free complimentary parking in hotel! This place is very technologized! I loved their hot and cold sauna! Such a satisfying pleasure after long drive! There is a nice Michelin restaurant inside and small coffeeshop! Its a cute pool and Jacuzzi outside. The hotel smells so nice and its very clean. The bed was very comfortable and their amenities specially the shampoo smells like heaven! This hotel is very modern luxury and if you are tech savvy you'll adore it! Everything works with touch or scan! It was super close to Google and Nasa so if you want luxury, accessibility this is your place. Also, there is Google bike outside to drive to there so dont hesitate to book this place and forsure dont miss the great dry sauna! It's Finish Sauna and there are cold towel, water and also oils, lotions and hand creams to help yourself. There is also nice gym, dance classes and there is water and fruit (mandarin/ tangerine). Overall, it was great experience. It looks overpriced but it's not just think about the finnish sauna and check with your local sauna place if they have it and how much they charge it! It's win win situation for your pocket. Definitely, i'll back to this place in future.

Absolutely lovely hotel that is my go to for all work trips! The staff is stellar and always beyond helpful. The rooms are light and clean and simple but not in a way that feels cheap. Plenty of plugs for all of those on a work trip. The gym is really nice and they even have a sauna and steam room. The bar area seems super hip and the hotel houses the fantastic restaurant, Broma! Truly my favorite place to stay when I'm out here.

Stream lined, clean, tech forward, cool and trendy. We arrived very late to this hotel. The concierge greeted us very warmly. She took her time to advise me on what was available for food and amenities, such as sauna and spa. The aesthetic here is sleek, not barren. It's still lively over in the bar area. I can see from the front desk there are private spaces for meetings. This area is definitely part of the Silicon Valley epicenter. Very convenient. Our room is well appointed. The bed is awesome!!! So comfortable! Enjoyed a great sleep. Every detail is thoughtfully put together here from sheets to soaps. I had a grain salad for breakfast with a perfectly jammy egg sat on top. The coffee is light and citrusy. Service is exemplary here! Looking forward to future visits.

My experience at Shashi was amazing! Parking: free Hotel lobby and service: Clean, modern, and they had an Asian style twist to it. The service was impeccable. I felt so fancy staying here Room: The room is spacious and clean. The sheets were nice and thick as well. Their shampoo and conditioner smelled amazing, and they also gave us slippers to use. The pool/gym/sauna: I love how they had different amenities. My friends and I definitely used them all. There weren't too many people when we went, so we had the jacuzzi all to ourselves. Beforehand, we grabbed a drink at the bar that's located next to the lobby, and they placed our drinks in a plastic cup so we could bring it to the pool area. They have a dry and wet sauna, which I've never seen before. It's usually one or the other. There was a shower outside near the pool and also a bathroom and shower inside the sauna area. The gym is a good size, not too big, and had the basic equipment needed. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and will come back whenever I need a staycation.

It was so cute as well as perfect timing because I needed a little snack before heading to our event. Let's face it this girl always wants a snack and I love fresh figs. Our room was an adequate size and the bed was super comfy. They took every small detail into consideration. They even had separate water for you to fill the steamer. You know how sometimes the water can cause white, salt like residue? Well not here. There was a small squeeze bottle for you to fill the steamer. Come on; who thinks of that? I wished we had more time in our room but it was a shower, a quick change then off we went. The parking is across from the hotel. You do have to pay for it but it's convenient so there's that. I definitely want to come back as it is a great place to hang out , especially with food next door!

Eventually halfway through the jazz night, we relocated to a couch towards the back where there was less people. But then the people who was sitting close to us followed and sat on the couch next to us too. Lol We both enjoyed a glass of wine, and it was good. I definitely recommend coming here for their jazz night. It seems to be happening every other Friday. Don't you hate it when other reviewers don't tell you how much they paid? I mean, if you break it down with the free parking (at least $10), the free breakfast (at least $25 for family of 4), the EV charging (at least $15), this place really is quite the bargain. If you come here on Wednesday night there is a manager's reception. Unfortunately, we left Tuesday so no go there. Speaking of parking, it's gated. There is a sense of safety associated with the gated and pass you need on your car when you check in. Yes, there are outdoor parking spots but we had a room next to the service elevator which took us straight to the basement. It was perfect that we didn't have to lug too far. And as for elevators, there are 2 on every floor. One closer to check in and the other the service elevator. The weight room oddly enough is on the 3rd floor. I think my only complaint here was there was no remote for the TV. Other than that, they had free weights, kettlebells, treadmills, exercycles, and one Paleton. The swimming pool unfortunately was out of commission, not that anyone wanted to swim in the cold. Free internet connection was about 10Mb down, just enough for casual use. 4 Tessie chargers and 2 J1772 chargers underground. Free breakfast details. I believe it's 6am to 10pm. There really isn't a lot table for four. I only saw one table like that but there are just enough tables for everyone. As for the food, I wanted to applaud that it was different on both days we were here for the main. They had chorizo and sausage one day and pulled chicken and bacon the next. I also wanted to chime in that the fresh blueberries and blackberries are such a nice tough. Usual oatmeal, waffles, cereal, baked goods (the croissants here are delicious) The negatives: I did wish the coffee in the lobby was hot when we first check in. But that was not a deal breaker. My only gripe here was maybe the bathroom. Water pressure was below average and the shower base looked like they ran out of money remodeling. We utilized their media room with some of our friends whom we've haven't seen in years. We ate there and had a comfortable time as if this was our dining room. If you needed the maids to redo the room, you'll have to contact housekeeping. We were there for 2 nights, definitely did not need help but did wish for more cookies and chocolate :) Oh, very important. There's only 1 entrance here off El Camino and make sure you have your key card at all times because the you'll need it for entry. Big thank you to Holly for getting the exact room we wanted, #416. For that much money you would expect a great experience but the hotel decided to cut corners and save money by cleaning the carpets in the guest rooms while people were staying in them. There was a sign in my room saying they were doing all the rooms on a floor the same day. I didn't want people cleaning the carpets while I was staying in the room so I left the do not disturb tag on my door but when I got back to the room on the 2nd day of my stay after working all day they had ignored it. I found the carpets were soaking wet and the room smelled of cleaning chemicals. I initially left my shoes on but the slimy liquid mixture of cleaner and hotel carpet gunk made my shoes slide like I was on ice when stepping off the carpet onto the tiled parts of the room. So then I took the shoes off and didn't slide on the tile but my socks soaked through quickly and became super uncomfortable so I ended up just going barefoot and having to fall asleep with the feeling of gross wet sticky feet. The next morning everything was dry and the carpet seemed normal so the hotel only would have needed a single day without a guest in the room to clean the carpet without impacting the experience of anyone staying there. The tiled parts of the room had also dried into a gross sticky film that was like walking around a terrible dive bar. I got in touch with Hilton after my stay and they weren't interested in the details of what happened. I offered to share pictures showing my experience but they declined them. I asked for a refund for the 2nd night but after putting me on hold for a while they only offered Hilton points. When I declined that they put me back on a hold for a while and then offered a voucher that was good for 1 night only at Homewood Suites. When I declined that they finally offered a partial refund but made it as painful as possible and wouldn't just put it back on my card but instead got my address and claim that they will send me a check that I will have to deal with.

There was some sort of chocolate thing that I enjoyed. The mini pavlova was my favorite. There was some sort of quick bread with zingy curd on top. It was ok. Then there was a moussie thing that was just ok. I don't know what it was because the online menu Does Not match what they give you. I understand that they change it, but it was a little deceptive. The ambiance was NOT relaxing. The setup up is in their café, which is next to the lobby. I didn't expect to be sitting in the lobby. In the photo you can see the front desk.
