I stayed here for a business trip for a team offsite. The accommodations were nice, but what really stood out to me was the customer service. I left a purse in the closet after checking out and flying home (thankfully it was not my primary purse). The minute I got home, I received an email from the staff saying I left my purse there and that they'd be happy to ship it back to me. Before I could respond, the owner sent a second email saying he was going to be in my city the following week visiting his daughter who lives there (turns out we lived 5 min apart) and he'd be happy to bring the purse with him so I didn't have to pay for the shipping cost. It's family-owned by Mr. Patel and his wonderful family, and you can feel the love and pride in every detail -- from the warm welcome to the spotless rooms and top-notch amenities. Our room had a Toto bidet, heated floors, blackout shades, plush bedding, and even complimentary snacks and drinks -- features that many 5-star hotels don't even offer! I won't stay anywhere else when I'm in Mountain View. The rooms are really nice, with so many amenities you won't find in other places, including tons of options for the customary breakfast, bikes to borrow, heated bathroom floor, bidet, slippers, etc. The staff is genuinely nice, helpful, and thoughtful - when my coworker had to stay there for a month with his wife and baby, the staff brought their baby a gift every day. My coworkers and I were in the area for work. This hotel was gracious to lodge a large number of our party. The amenities within the property are phenomenal! The attention to the daily cleanliness of each room, availability of filtered water, fitness room, and attentive hospitality. I was especially impressed by the amenities in the room which included a bidet, heated floor within washroom, pant press, slippers & a robe, air filter, and a lovely breakfast and coffee included with stay. This hotel is excellent. You should stay here. No, it's not a corporate hotel, but it's nicer. The bones are old-school CA hotel, and the room renovations are fantastic. The rooms are attractive with more amenities that you find in other US hotels: heated bathroom floor, Japanese toilet seats (you know you love them!), tons of storage, nice decor, lovely showers, an Aeron desk chair, etc... There is parking right in front of your room. They have bikes. It's easy to get to from 101 or 280. They have a van that will take you to the usual MV/PA locations. The breakfast is just what you need to get your day started. And, Castro street in Mountain View is 10 minutes away with an astounding array of excellent restaurants. I final word - the people who own and work here are fantastic. I lost a house key, and after I told them that I had looked all over the owners stopped what they were doing and went back to my room to look again. Today, they found my key in a planter by the stairway and Dilip sent us an email. Fantastic. It's not worth looking at the other hotels nearby. You won't find a nicer place to stay. read more

It's worth a trip to Mountain View just to stay here. No joke. The service at this family owned hotel is unmatched and the entire staff makes you feel as if you're a part of the family. Personable, friendly, and attentive, the crew at the Strata makes sure every guest is treated like a VIP. They remember your name, room number, and engage with you every time. Other hotels can learn a lot from the Strata and what it really means to be in the hospitality business. We found this hotel after flying into San Francisco for a business trip in San Jose. I was intrigued by the high Yelp reviews and after reading through them, decided to give the Strata a shot. It exceeded all our expectations! And the rooms are as nice as the staff. The double queen room I was in had heated bathroom floors, a large flatscreen TV above an electric fireplace, and even had a TV within the bathroom mirror. They've tried to account for every need you might have while staying there. Flashlight mounted on the walls in case of emergency, a bidet to keep you extra clean, and a small kitchen area to reheat or make your own meals. And they even offer a shuttle service if you need to get somewhere within 6 miles of the hotel. I'll definitely be back here and I'm telling everyone I know that it's worth their time and money to check out this wonderful hotel. I've stayed in more luxurious hotels, more scenic hotels, etc., but these rooms are the most thoughtfully designed and uniquely well-appointed I've stayed in. Along with super-friendly and helpful staff, morning breakfast, 24/7 self-serve snacks and beverages, shuttle service, I'll be back. BTW, as far as the many thoughtful and quality room design features, mine included a functional and efficient kitchenette, fridge and freezer (that actually worked), valuables safe, wood floor (likely synthetic but very nice), heated floor section outside bathroom, heated toilet seat, yoga mat (what a good idea!), motion-activated under-bed lighting (another good idea!!), pleasant shower with above-head head rain option, convenient laundry hamper, trouser press, small faux fireplace, etc. Truly some well-intended and well-thought-out designs and features! read more

We give Strata Hotel in Mt View California five plus stars This hotel has gone beyond our expectations. The hotel is kept in excellent condition. The friendly staff is continually wiping down doors and windows. It is immaculate. The location is great. We had come here for a medical procedure and they have full COVID prevention policies in place. All staff wear masks. Breakfast is provided. The staff gives you a breakfast list the day before. You give them your breakfast choices and the next morning at the time you choose your breakfast is ready for you. The lobby has two Nespresso coffee station. The coffee is amazing. When you check in you are given water in a reusable bottle. The water is refreshing. Our room is beautiful with a comfortable bed. The bed is king size and calls your name. You can lay in bed while watching an eighty inch plus TV screen. While laying on the bed you can breathe purified air. The decor in the room is beautiful. The room comes with a refrigerator, microwave and a Nespresso coffee maker. Just when you think the room has everything you see more. The nightstands have motion detectors underneath with lights. There is even a suit presser. Next is the bathroom. Wow! The bathroom is amazing. Let's talk about the shower. It doesn't matter if you are tall or short. While in the shower water comes from the ceiling shower, the wall shower or hand shower. Your choice of one or two or all three showers heads at once. Now let's talk about toilets. You have a heated water and toilet seat bidet. If that's not enough the floors are heated. Of course I have to mention the body wash, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion is by Elemis Spa Home products. Top notch. Plus the towels are so soft. I am so amazed at Hotel Strata. I really don't want to leave. I do need to add they have free loaner bikes, helmets and locks. There are trails and parks nearby. There is a nice outdoor patio. We sat in the sun and ate breakfast and dinner. I did see a sign that led to an upstairs that said Gym. It was chained off. Probably due to COVID. If you have a chance to stay here you should. Hotel Strata is a gem! I took my sons on a last minute getaway and chose to stay at this establishment because of the central location, the amenities, and the quality. The room was Huge! It had a perfect kitchenette, an amazing bathroom with extra technology like a towel warmer, a bidet, and even warm floors akin to the Korean style homes. The beds were very comfortable and the down pillows cradled my head so well that I slept through the night! The staff even placed a real baby crib in the room with two cute little teddy bears for my 10-month old son, which was so thoughtful and impressive. Upon unpacking, I even found Yoga equipment ready for use! As if all of that wasn't enough, the hotel staff serves a delicious HOT breakfast each morning that is included in your stay. Kirit, the owner, often enjoys chatting with guests and offering recommendations for site-seeing, as well as arranging rides in their shuttle to and from major corporations for business travelers. They even offer bicycles you can freely borrow for the day to cruise around town! It was refreshing to see such amazing personalized service and kindness of a family-owned and operated business. Room smell gave me a headache in 10 minutes so I left. Manager denied this and refused refund and told me to call Hotel Tonight. They refused refund as well. I guess i needed to take an air sample and send it to the lab. Never again will I stay at this hotel or use Hotel Tonight. In response to manager. I did not have a headache when I arrived. The room gave me a headache. Therefore I was unable to stay because it was a toxic environment for me. It's my head, unless you are connected to my head with a neural link you just have to trust me. Based on the reviews from the web, decided to stay in Hotel Strata during Christmas holidays. What a load of surprise right from the checkin time. The hotel is maintained very well. Even though, I met different people at the front desk , everyone is very friendly. In other words, it is not just one person in the hotel but everyone is very friendly and helpful. Stayed in two king bed room for three nights, with my family and the room is really spacious including a living room with a sofa. Breakfast has plenty of choices and the manager/hotel staff goes out of the way to help if there is a special request from the customers. It was nice meeting Dilip, he works like a 20 year old even though he is not in his 20s. An inspiration to many generations. Will always stay in Hotel Strata anytime I come to Bay area. read more

Not bad for Mountain View. Stayed for 2 days due to a family member being in El Camino Hospital. They gave me a good "hospital" rate which helped! So many great amenities! The roll desk that goes over the bed was helpful, love the shower, air cleaner and motion detected night light. Not a huge TV watcher, but the TV was huge! Was not able to take advantage of the breakfast, but maybe next time. Also noticed bikes for guests. Wasn't able to take advantage of that, but thought it was a neat perk. One of my favorite features of these rooms was that I found a yoga mat and a foam roller in my room! I'm a huge fan of foam rolling and they had more in the gym, but if I could do it in my room without taking the trip, all the better. I didn't watch any television but it's huge! The restroom is equipped with a bidet on the toilet and a shower with three different heads. None of them had the pressure I was looking for but the rain styled shower was pretty cool. I heard they used to have a pool but it's not been constructed to something else. I enjoyed the breakfast and though they do take away breakfast food after specific times, there are general foods that they don't remove and are up for grabs 24/7. read more

FAMILY OWNED HOTEL STAPLE!! This has been our second stay at this hotel and we are soo impressed with the accommodations!!! we stayed in a single bed room with a king sized bed that is the most comfortable bed that i have ever slept in at a hotel. Not only do we feel as if the room has been completely sanitized but the thoughtful details such as the shoe horn, emergency flashlight by the bed, not to forget the sensored nightstands that light your floor are for sure details that not even the most well known hotels have. The kitchenette is perfect as it has a hidden refrigerator in a closet that gets lit up as you open the doors. And they also provide a microwave and nespresso coffee maker. Now the bathroom..oh my its AMAZING!!! Toilet has a heated seat and bidet!!!! Shower is a rainfall shower head and you also have two other shower heads for your preference. And the floor is heated!! Now not even the bigger well known hotels have these!! They do have hot breakfasts in the morning from 6:30am-9:30am (we recommend the waffles) that you could partake of in the front reception area and they do have bikes that you could rent if needed to get around the town. Personal touches that cater to the visitors are representative of the "family style owners" that shows in the hard work and dedication that keeps this hotel staple in the Mountain View,CA area!! This is a super Hotel in the center of High-Tech city of Mountain View. I get so much attention and care at the Hotel so that I keep bookings for long stays since mid-2020. The management care for passengers is of top-quality and one-of-a-kind. My wife has accompanied me at the hotel for few times and she describes her experience as unbelievable. Getting access to the Internet is so simple and quick. What an enjoyable stay! We came for just one night but all four family members were pleased by the room, bathroom, beds, and breakfast. Clean - Clean- Clean! Usually that's all I really need but I also loved that there were cups and dishes that were not disposable and spa shower products in dispensers that were also not plastic and not single use. I love that my hotel stay did not have to create tons of garbage. The hosts at this hotel are kind and caring. A rare treat in today's world. So many cool gadgets in room, tons of plugs. It may be that I was fleeing 95 degree heat, but my two day stay at Hotel Strata was wonderful. They have so many unique and thoughtful amenities, including a nice bidet, a rolling desk that comes up over the bed for convenient breakfast or work in bed, yoga blocks and mat, a beautiful patio which includes fire pits and a ping pong table, a contactless temperature scanner and other COVID safety procedures, a 72' TV with HTMI cable so you can run things from your computer/phone, and fantastic free WiFi (better than what I have a home and very capable of running Zoom meetings. Staff are friendly and accommodating, and they are a convenient walk from a nice restaurant strip. The one critique I have is that the continental breakfast (currently served in bags you pick up based on what you request, which feels very safe) are mostly store-bought pastries and fruit cups. That said, they have nice espresso machines in the rooms as well as a latte machine in the lobby, and this certainly would not stop me from going back. read more

Oddly enough this hotel was the only one left on a Labor Day Weekend from Monterey Bay to San Francisco. I say oddly because the price was pretty nice and it was very highly rated from every vacation site and Yelp, I couldn't understand why they still had rooms. Something had to be wrong with this place. To my surprise this hotel was beyond my expectation in just about every way. COVID stay I stayed here one night in July after visiting SF for the day. I used hotels tonight to book my stay. Key notes: touch less check in, free parking in a safe lot. Check in was easy. Automatic sliding door to the lobby. There is a camera that checks your temperature. Plexiglass separates you from the host desk. I received my key and walked across the parking lot to my room. The room features fake wood floor, a large bed, even larger tv. Although I chose to wipe down commonly touched surfaces the room was exceptionally clean! The toilet when features a bidet and seat warmer. The shower was very nice! Check out was just as simple as checking in. I would definitely recommend hotel strata. read more

After a lot of research between the many different options of hotels in the area I decided to choose Hotel Strata based on their 5-stars AND how they take pride in their cleanliness and sanitary measures. I have absolutely NO regrets! If I could give them 10-stars, I would! Upon check-in we were greeted by a very friendly and welcoming young lady at the front desk. Then as we entered our room, I noticed the clean scent of the room- possibly due to the air purifier mounted on the wall. I did a thorough walk-thru as I normally do anywhere I stay and was very pleased with everything I saw. Pros: * Automatic light sensors under the nightstands so you don't trip over anything in the dark. * Wood flooring throughout the room for people like me who get grossed out with carpet not knowing what's buried in them and for those with allergies. There was the exception of the area rug underneath the bed, only enough to give the room a soft, cozy feel. * Clean and comfy bedding and pillows that allowed us a good night's rest. * USB outlets conveniently located on both sides of the bed, in case you forgot your phone charger/power adapter. * Very clean bathroom with a sparkling toilet and shower. The toilet seat also warms your bum and the shower had both a rainfall type shower head for a spa-like experience and the regular shower head in case you didn't want to get your hair wet. * Fully-stocked with toiletries: hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, Q-tips/cotton balls, manicure kit, mouthwash, razor, shower cap, makeup remover towelette, and lotion. * mini fridge, microwave and a Nescafé coffee maker. * We couldn't get any input when we turned the tv on so my husband called the front desk for help and immediately someone came to show him how to get the channels- prompt service!! * Complimentary hot breakfast served from 6:30am-9:30am and many individually wrapped to-go options as well. What dazzled me here in the lobby was getting to meet the owner and wonderfully hospitable he was. I asked him to show me how to use the Nescafé machine but he suggested the local, gourmet coffee and that coffee was better than Starbucks! Him and his wife kindly warmed up my husband's breakfast sandwich. Top notch customer service you'll get here!! What I really appreciated from the owner was as I was complimenting our stay, he was very grateful but he also asked me how are ways they can improve. Let me start by saying I personally didn't stay here. However, I booked the room for my daughter and her BFF for New Years Eve since they were going to a party on Castro. I know I know ... I spoil her. But hey, I only have one kiddo (she's 26 lol) and I sleep easier knowing she's not on the roads on the most dangerous night of the year. My experience started here on Yelp of course. I did a deep search of local Mountain View Hotels within a close proximity of DownTown Mountain View that wouldn't break the bank. I found some pretty dicey notell motels but then ... like a sign from heaven, my search led me to Hotel Strata. The reviews were fantastic and the prices were right in my range. Not to mention the pictures gave me piece of mind that this place was not going to be a dive in any way shape or form. Instead of booking online, I opted to call the Hotel directly. Tiffany answered the phone and was just wonderful. She made the process of booking a room so smooth and gave me a fantastic deal. Seriously folks, the rates here are really good. Anyway, since I wasn't staying there but wanted to make sure I paid in advance, she emailed me the proper forms necessary and we were good to go. Easy Peasy. My daughter and her friend arrived around 6ish and they said the hotel wasn't very busy however when they came back after the party, the parking lot was pretty full. Thankfully they Ubered to Downtown so parking wasn't an issue. They did comment on the strong incense smell in the lobby but I've smelled worse things in other places. Just sayin. They loved the cool features like the heated bathroom floors and the bidet that they thought was hysterical. The rooms were comfortable and had a microwave and fridge which came in handy because after a night of "celebrating", they needed to warm up the frozen pizzas they brought to soak up the liquid courage they'd ingested earlier that evening. I was somewhat disappointed that they overslept and didn't get a chance to try out the breakfast buffet but these ladies needed their beauty sleep. Overall I'd highly recommend this Hotel if you're needed a place to stay that's close to Sunnyvale or Mountain View. Big thumbs up from this mom! read more

Endless amount of positive remarks! I'd like to begin by saying we had just come off of a lengthy stay at a brand new Westin Resort and we weren't expecting to be nearly as comfortable here ... I was so wrong! We pulled up late at night and I saw that the doors opened up to the outside rather than an indoor hall and was immediately concerned, HOWEVER I was way off base, once checked in we had to use our key to a door that then let us up to the stairs to reach our room (an excellent security addition). We were greeted by a bottle of wine, complimentary slippers and alkaline h20 bottles (small things that made us feel valued) the room was exceptionally clean and OMG all the extras! The beds were comfortable and clean, there was a gorgeous fireplace, a nespresso machine in room, a bidet, rainfall shower, heated bathroom floor, a tv built in to the bathroom mirror, a fridge and microwave, ambient motion lighting, an air purifier and ample complimentary toiletries (mouthwash, razors and more available upon request). There was a continental breakfast with more than enough options (including a delicious espresso machine and a beautiful selection of teas). Parking was free and right off the room (we felt safe leaving most of our stuff in the car), our stay was completely silent and utterly enjoyable. On the way out we grabbed our toddler a hot chocolate for our drive and the gentleman at the counter gave her a complimentary teddy bear (a small gesture that blew her mind and sealed in this hotel as the best spur of the moment stay we've ever had) they even asked if we had any suggestions for improvement and that was an easy No! Do yourself a favor and stay here if it's an option because it is a comfortable safe over the top experience and you deserve it!
