This is my go to place in the area. Boutique hotel. Check in is quick and easy. Rooms are uniquely decorated and clean. Price is unbeatable. Free underground parking garage, free wifi and complimentary breakfast.

    Scaffolding attached to the hotel.

Place is horrible. Under construction. They just leave a smoke detector endlessly beeping towards the back of the hotel. Good luck sleeping.

I do recommend this hotel even though the first impression with the lady who was working at the reception was pretty negative. She did not even look at me, said hi or smiled. Smiling is a must in hospitality. She was probably doing her work but a little more of enthusiasm would be more appreciated. The receptionist from the checkout transaction was pleasant. That commented as constructive feedback, I could not be more pleased with the quality-price ratio of this hotel (especially considering that recently I was in the area, at a Best Western and I have enough content for a review and a half...negative of course). This hotel is locally right by the freeway, so don't expect walkability (actually I found there is some sort of exercising trail that goes under a bridge...I saw people in bicycles and with their dogs. However, please do not expect coming here and walking downtown Mountain View. Also expects the Uber drivers to ghost you (maybe is challenging location?). My colleague when trying to drop me there found difficult to follow the directions even with GPS. That commented, this was one of my best hotels for business trip. It is so cute, very nice 'Greek decor', all colorful matching my personality, so I slept very well actually, thinking I was not surrounded by grays and beiges. It reminded me a little bit of a Mexican hacienda mixed with a motel from the outside and the internal patios. I loved the sink and faucet in the bathroom, very cool. I like how they put emphasis in making very presentable something that could be potentially a lost hole in the wall.

Booked a hotel room at this hotel. They overbooked the room. Never contacted me. I showed up and there wasn't even a live agent available to help me. Only this kiosk. They made no effort to rebook me into another accommodation or help me in anyway. I would be very concerned and staying at this hotel.

The bathroom door opens within an inch or less of the toilet.

This hotel was a huge disappointment. My wife had same-day surgery at Stanford Medical. We live a four-hour drive from this location. We had booked for two nights. Surgery was scheduled for 5 AM the morning following our first night's stay. I phoned at 9:30 AM Zico Hotel asking that the room be cleaned and comfortable for when she would arrive following surgery. We arrived back to Zico before 11:30 AM. Our room had not been touched by the hotel staff. My wife had a 1:15 PM follow-up the day following surgery. I asked for a late check-out near 1 PM. I was told that if we did not checkout by noon, there would be an additional $30 surcharge. I walked the hallway several times during our full day stay. Two cleaning carts were left unattended in the hallway with one additional cart parked in the doorway of a guest room. Nothing was done in the with the carts and the rooms till about 4 PM. The courtyard photo in the Zico listing a very narrow strip with artificial turf with one of the long sides, concrete walls bordering a noisy freeway exit. The toilet seat was loose, a challenge to attempt to set on it. The bathroom was extremely small and the open door came to within an inch of the toilet. The room was small. The sheets were loose upon our arrive and a long strand of hair was on the bottom sheet. The free breakfast is continental and minimum at best. During the past 14 months I have stayed in more than a dozen USA motels/hotels. When and where there was a breakfast with the room, the TV in the breakfast room was one of the three broadcast networks or CNN. Zico's breakfast room had Fox News, which says something about Zico Hotel. The king bed was comfortable.

I had to travel to Stanford for my son's appointment, & the original place we booked didn't seem like the best neighborhood. Since we had the kids we decided to find somewhere else and took a chance on Hotel Zico. A little hard to see the turn in at night, but wow was it worth it! We booked the room just 20 minutes before arriving, the price was on the lower end of average for the area, & $50 deposit. (That surprised me as I am used to a lot higher.) The check in process was unlike any I had seen, it was all virtual and the person who helped me was very kind. I loved the room, especially the fact that you can go out on the balcony and there was a ping pong table, and fire pit. Absolutely beautiful. It is near the freeway, so outside is louder than relaxing, but you cannot hear it from inside the room so it was no bother. The only reason I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because I feel the room could have been cleaned a bit better. (There was a sock under the table and a few places that could have been wiped down better in corners of bathroom.) I will absolutely be back when we need to stay again.

Charged my credit card when I did not steal anything from the room

Location: it's not the most ideal as it is very close to the highway and if you miss the entrance, you need to drive in and out of several highways to get back to the entrance area. Room: I stayed there for over a week and man I counted over 8 flies during my stay. I was able to get rid of some of them. But they kept on coming back. It was so annoying seeing it fly around. I can't sleep well here. After I checked out, they charged me $10 with no explanation on what the charge is for. Like seriously? You spam me with a bunch of welcome message via hotel.com but you don't bother to tell me why I'm being charge $10? FYI I never got charged after I checked out. This is the first time. Do not recommend!!

    Wallpaper coming off walls

The walls were LITERALLY falling off. Every wall in the room the wallpaper was lifting. Carpet had huge gap and holes in it. Walls were also fitting black marks all over. HAIR in our bed shits. Spiders and cob webs all in the corners. Called the front desk and asked for a different room it was late and we didn't want to look for somewhere else to stay. They did change our room quickly and the new room was a little better, but there was still marks on the shits, head board has pink hair dye on it, dirty walls, holes in walls, just wasn't a pleasant experience at all.

This place gets pretty packed on the weekends. I will write a review on this place as it deserves one but back to the hotel. When we arrived our room came with a complimentary drink! We grabbed our drinks and headed up to our room. To our surprise a welcome board awaited us with chocolates, figs, nuts, and a bottle of water. It was so cute as well as perfect timing because I needed a little snack before heading to our event. Let's face it this girl always wants a snack and I love fresh figs. Our room was an adequate size and the bed was super comfy. They took every small detail into consideration. They even had separate water for you to fill the steamer. You know how sometimes the water can cause white, salt like residue? Well not here. There was a small squeeze bottle for you to fill the steamer. Come on; who thinks of that? I wished we had more time in our room but it was a shower, a quick change then off we went. The parking is across from the hotel. You do have to pay for it but it's convenient so there's that. I definitely want to come back as it is a great place to hang out , especially with food next door!

Staff here are friendly and nice. Restrooms are clean and modern! Last night I came for the jazz night in their lounge. It was Terrigal and Tamara that were performing, and they sounded lovely! I truly enjoyed the music for the night. My gal friend and I first sat at a sofa nearby the stage, and we kept smelling farts. Someone nearby kept letting it rip. Not okay. Eventually halfway through the jazz night, we relocated to a couch towards the back where there was less people. But then the people who was sitting close to us followed and sat on the couch next to us too. Lol We both enjoyed a glass of wine, and it was good. I definitely recommend coming here for their jazz night. It seems to be happening every other Friday. Since one of my girl friends couldn't make it last night, we'll be coming again for the next jazz night on March 27th. :) I definitely recommend parking on San Antonio to save the $10 valet parking fee!

But the acoustics of the room are terrible, and the sound system provided by the band was sub-par. This is yet another case where the construction skimped on acoustic treatment. Don't you hate it when other reviewers don't tell you how much they paid? I mean, if you break it down with the free parking (at least $10), the free breakfast (at least $25 for family of 4), the EV charging (at least $15), this place really is quite the bargain. If you come here on Wednesday night there is a manager's reception. Unfortunately, we left Tuesday so no go there. Speaking of parking, it's gated. There is a sense of safety associated with the gated and pass you need on your car when you check in. Yes, there are outdoor parking spots but we had a room next to the service elevator which took us straight to the basement. It was perfect that we didn't have to lug too far. And as for elevators, there are 2 on every floor. One closer to check in and the other the service elevator. The weight room oddly enough is on the 3rd floor. I think my only complaint here was there was no remote for the TV. Other than that, they had free weights, kettlebells, treadmills, exercycles, and one Paleton. The swimming pool unfortunately was out of commission, not that anyone wanted to swim in the cold. Free internet connection was about 10Mb down, just enough for casual use. 4 Tessie chargers and 2 J1772 chargers underground. Free breakfast details. I believe it's 6am to 10pm. There really isn't a lot table for four. I only saw one table like that but there are just enough tables for everyone. As for the food, I wanted to applaud that it was different on both days we were here for the main. They had chorizo and sausage one day and pulled chicken and bacon the next. I also wanted to chime in that the fresh blueberries and blackberries are such a nice tough. Usual oatmeal, waffles, cereal, baked goods (the croissants here are delicious) The negatives: I did wish the coffee in the lobby was hot when we first check in. But that was not a deal breaker. My only gripe here was maybe the bathroom. Water pressure was below average and the shower base looked like they ran out of money remodeling. We utilized their media room with some of our friends whom we've haven't seen in years. We ate there and had a comfortable time as if this was our dining room. If you needed the maids to redo the room, you'll have to contact housekeeping. We were there for 2 nights, definitely did not need help but did wish for more cookies and chocolate :) Oh, very important. There's only 1 entrance here off El Camino and make sure you have your key card at all times because the you'll need it for entry. Big thank you to Holly for getting the exact room we wanted, #416. All the rooms have been updated.

For that much money you would expect a great experience but the hotel decided to cut corners and save money by cleaning the carpets in the guest rooms while people were staying in them. There was a sign in my room saying they were doing all the rooms on a floor the same day. I didn't want people cleaning the carpets while I was staying in the room so I left the do not disturb tag on my door but when I got back to the room on the 2nd day of my stay after working all day they had ignored it. I found the carpets were soaking wet and the room smelled of cleaning chemicals. I initially left my shoes on but the slimy liquid mixture of cleaner and hotel carpet gunk made my shoes slide like I was on ice when stepping off the carpet onto the tiled parts of the room. So then I took the shoes off and didn't slide on the tile but my socks soaked through quickly and became super uncomfortable so I ended up just going barefoot and having to fall asleep with the feeling of gross wet sticky feet. The next morning everything was dry and the carpet seemed normal so the hotel only would have needed a single day without a guest in the room to clean the carpet without impacting the experience of anyone staying there. The tiled parts of the room had also dried into a gross sticky film that was like walking around a terrible dive bar. I got in touch with Hilton after my stay and they weren't interested in the details of what happened. I offered to share pictures showing my experience but they declined them. I asked for a refund for the 2nd night but after putting me on hold for a while they only offered Hilton points. When I declined that they put me back on a hold for a while and then offered a voucher that was good for 1 night only at Homewood Suites. When I declined that they finally offered a partial refund but made it as painful as possible and wouldn't just put it back on my card but instead got my address and claim that they will send me a check that I will have to deal with.
