Serviceable place to stay, no frills. Was here about a month ago. Good for 1-2 night stay, doesn't offer much more than a place to sleep. However, I chose this hotel for the price and convenient location and not for a luxury vacation, so it wasn't unexpected. The lobby is super tiny and there aren't really any comfortable public/shared spaces to sit or hang out. Walking up the stairs to my room I could tell the buildings were very dated, and could use some new finishes - even fresh carpet or paint would make a big difference. Rooms open mostly onto outdoor walkways or corridors that are open to the exterior. I was pleased to find that the room was in good condition. Again, most of the finishes and equipment looked like they hadn't been upgraded since the '80s or maybe early '90s - especially the bathroom - but they were functional. Nothing was broken or dirty. Most importantly, the bed itself was very clean, soft, and incredibly comfortable. Sheets were spotless white and looked crisp and new, and there were plenty of fluffy pillows. Have to give the hotel owners and housekeeping staff credit for prioritizing attention on what matters most. I also appreciated the communication via text message from the hotel manager April prior to and during my stay to ensure check-in and check-out went smoothly. read more

Absolutely do NOT stay here. Ants everywhere in bathrooms. Bugs in rest of room. Dirty screens. Room has the dusty smell of a room that hasn't been aired out in months. Ventilation doesn't exist in rooms. Changing rooms doesn't help. Front desk is rude and refuses to help. Refuses to call owner for problems because why would they? It's cheaper to be an ass and ignore the problem. They'd rather play games on laptop. Dryer is broken. And front desk doesn't have coins even though they know the machines take coins only. Druggies lounge outside and pretty sure I saw a drug deal happen. Stay as far away from this place unless you have no other options. read more

This place gave me scabies. They would not refund me for the day I had to leave early, and indicated he did not believe me when I told them why. Sucks because I was traveling for work and had to miss two days to deal with the infestation. Room was filthy just about everywhere you looked. There was what appeared to be bloody coke-boogers smeared on the wall, and possibly blood spattered on the furniture. Plush chair was disgusting. Carpet ripped and stained, bathroom floor sticky. There were bugs in the towels. You can hear everything going on in the neighboring rooms. Photos aren't uploading but I'm motivated enough to come back and try to make them work. read more

Booked this place last-minute and without reading reviews. Very sweet and friendly receptionist. However walking to my room I was afraid. Horribly worn-out building, not quite to the level of third-world country but well on its way. N'er do wells hanging out in the parking lot. Strong smell of cigarettes in stairwell. Ice machine deafening. I would recommend a room as far from it as possible. Paint peeling off the doors. Bathroom counter missing trim. Heater efficient but has awful burning smell. Room clean save for stains on the sheets. I was too tired to care and slept strategically between thrm. Bed incredibly soft and comfortable, the best I've had in a hotel. Quiet stay for the most part. I give it three stars due to the softness and comfort of the bed, overall cleanliness, and friendly help staff. They each earn a star. Edited to add: I noticed they have a washer and dryer available for visitors. Also a couple of vending machines which take cash. There is a big gap at bottom of my door. Allows bush to get is too easily. The chair is trash. I almost think motel 6 would of been better. They lied, kept it and are claiming to have released it to my bank. April at the front desk makes you feel at home with her kindness and hospitality. This hotel is nothing to brag about in terms of quality, but you get what you pay for. My girlfriend and I stayed here to attended a concert at the Shoreline Amphitheatre. The hotel provides the essentials and that's all we needed. Definitely will come back again if we go on a short trip to Mountain View! read more

Stayed here in early May 2022. The room was on the first floor, not by the stairway. It was functional. Both the window and door locked. The bed was extremely (!!!) comfortable. But it could have been cleaner, especially in the bathroom. Nonetheless this seemed like an acceptable level of upkeep given the cost. 4* because April, who works at the front desk, was wonderful, both before booking was made and after. Having been delayed and getting in at around 3 am, it was a great help that she was really communicative (called the main hotel line) and eliminated any worry of being locked out in the middle of the night!!! read more

For the ones that need a little more detail: I guess i must of gotten one of the old non-upgraded rooms. Reason why i booked it was because i thought i was going to get something similar to the pics... but that unfortunately was not the case here. anyways, check in was okay even though they had a funky smelling incense burning. My room on the other hand, where do i start... the carpet seemed gross. I didnt want to walk on it barefoot. My window didnt lock which is an issue since i was on bottom floor and the window was capable of opening up all the way and the ground was easily accessible. Looking through the screen down the backside of the building, i could see there was a metal gate with a latch at the end leading to the street. Below the window, the conditUnder the desk, there was a coffee straw, and part of a tissue. And lastly the microwave was missing. As it goes for the bathroom, since part of the counter for the sink had been cut or whatever the reason may be, the side of it was exposed. I felt that i could easily scrape myself if i wasnt paying much attention. There was orange mold, for what i could tell, on the shower head and on the tub wall. The bathroom fan doesn't work. The tub walls also had chips in it. My other half and i even went as far as buying bleach from the grocery store to clean the bathroom ourselves. Last night, I went out with some friends and we hung out till pretty late. Afterwards, we both got really lazy to drive back home in the crazy rain. Since it was a spur of the moment idea, we decided to go to Days Inn. Since I had stayed at a couple of Days Inn before and knew of how their service operated and was pleased with it, we decided to go here. The room we stayed in was clean, and the large king sized bed was pretty comfortable. Also in the morning when we checked out, they still had the complimentary breakfast out at 11AM. This location has juices, coffee, cereals, pastries, and bread. The staff that we happened to encounter were all very nice. A clean room, comfortable bed, free wireless internet, complimentary breakfast, and a last minute place to stay when I don't wanna drive home at $79 isn't bad to me at all. This would be a great place to stay if it's for a short length, or you plan to be out of the hotel a lot. However, if you need somewhere with all the glitz, glamour, and what not, this isn't your place to stay. read more

Great deal for a cheap room, spacious with good amenities. Coffeemaker, fridge, microwave, ironing board which you don't get at Motel 6 unless paying extra. Only problem is a very small parking lot so don't go out in the evening unless there looks to be enough spaces when returning. Room was noisy because it was in front of a busy street plus bad soundproof. Breakfast is ok. Building is old, no flat screen tv, carpet is old. Sometimes you will spot spider in the room. If you only stay on weekend, find other hotels because they are cheaper but for weekday this hotel gives good price because it's not a chain hotel. read more

This was one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. 1. It looked like there were blood stains on the hallway. carpet outside of our room. 2. The blanket under the comforter had holes in it and was torn. 3. The shower wouldn't drain while in use and I was up to ankle deep water within a minute. 4. Go to look fo a piece of paper and pen in the nightstand only to find multiple used, dirty tissues. 5. We woke up to someone's music coming through the walls. 6. Their "free breakfast" was a joke. Room was nice and everything but the security guards need to get off they fucking high horses. I barely pull up and they stare at me in my fucking car as I'm texting the person I got a room with what the room # is. As soon as i step out I hear the security ask a lady "Can he park there?" Like are you dumb? I have a room here and I'm a guest I say. The security proceeds to just state me down as I walk up the stairs. And another security kept walking ALL AROUND MY CAR while I smoked inside of my car since I couldn't smoke on any balcony or anything. Then when i get out he directly walks to me to ask my room number like why the fuck do you need that??? He seen me walk out of the stairs coming from the 2nd floor and he also saw me a couple of times during the day before it even became nighttime. I was seriously annoyed by the security and how they were kinda acting towards me. Better get new ones or set these mfers straight. read more

Seems like this is a very recent Days Inn franchisee conversion. A little confusing to get to since the building doesn't have the Days Inn logo on it yet. The sign on the road has a Days Inn banner strapped over the old Sundowner Inn sign. When I got into the parking lot, I kept looking for a second lobby for Days Inn. Once I figured it out... I don't look for expensive when I travel because I'm not looking to hang out in the hotel. I want clean and comfortable, and I need internet access (usually working part of the time whenever I go away). In its class, this place is probably one of the nicest motels I've stayed in: * Large room with king bed (I only reserved queen), desk, two armchairs for relaxing * Decent workspace/desk area with easy access to available power outlets * Everything was pristine -- bathroom, bed, sheets, etc. Refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave in the room are nice for early mornings (see below). * Excellent water pressure (a big problem in many area motels, but not this one) * Nice big towels (not the little hand towels you get in many motels) * Very easy access to everything in the area. * High-speed internet access is free, and very fast if you need it (I do). * Very comfortable bed, and even comfortable pillows. (I usually travel with my own, and didn't even need it this time) If I could give this place 4.5 stars, I would. My only real issue is that breakfast doesn't start until 8 a.m. on Saturday. I'm an early riser, so that's at least 2 hours after I'm up, and about an hour before I'm ready to get my day started. I will stay here any time in the area if they keep up this level of quality. read more

I was on my way to SF when i called Travel INN Sunnyvale at 2am. The owner answered the phone and was very kind. He even gave my bf and i a discount. The place was decent but the coustomer service was great. They even offer a continental breakfast. The non smoking room did smell of smoke and the place is do for an upgrade. Espcialy the bathroom. Over all, I would not recommend this place to my friends only if it was the last resort at 2am read more

AFTER finding me a room and checking me in, the front desk manager took the time to listen to my problem and then helped me locate the Best Western where I did have a reservation (there are several nearby) -- then checked me out and wished me well! This Inn was very well kept and provides a clean nonsmoking environment. The room had wonderful essentials and basic necessities provided with fairly high quality furniture, as well as free wifi and breakfast in the morning. Just the basic things you expect to have in a motel and they supplied them all: - a place to hang your clothes - a dresser if you want to put your clothes away - a place to put your suitcase up off the floor - a nice tv that works no volume control issues etc - the layout was very nice with a king bed and a separate table w/chairs - kleenex provided as well as other toiletries - nice breakfast spread - all the staff very pleasant and accommodating - nice refrigerator and microwave that is easily accessible (not where you have to crouch down on the floor to operate.....!) - even had an iron and ironing board Just the basic things you'de expect to have which unfortunately not all motels have anymore! I was very happy with my stay here. The rooms are kinda old looking, but for the price, I don't think you can do better. When I stayed there I had a huge moving truck and the motel owner let me keep it in the parking lot as long as I needed, which was very nice. My husband and I stayed here the night before my surgery at El Camino Hospital. The owner (if he is not the owner, he is the manager) was incredibly nice, and even though he could be price gouging with the lack of rooms in the area this week, he didn't, even gave me a better price than any of the online booking sites. They provide discounts for people going to neighboring hospitals. Everything was clean, room was large and they offer continental breakfast. This is not a high end hotel, so as long as you don't expect it to be, I recommend it. Again, the owner is super nice and helpful, I can't say enough about him! read more

I had a bad experience that probably won't be as bad for you. But there are some things to be aware of. I definitely will not stay here in the future. I got in real late on a Sunday night. Monday morning heading to my car, I see one cop car stationed in the parking lot and another patrolling the parking lot. I realized it was not a good sign, so I put my valuable in my trunk although I left toiletries and such behind. Also of note, I always put up the do not disturb sign and had done so that morning. I worked a long day and came home at 9:30. When I entered my room, they had checked me out and taken all of my stuff (even with a do not disturb sign). It took a little under an hour to get my stuff back. Night staff told me something would be done for me in the morning to compensate me for the inconvenience. When I went to check out the lady behind the desk was rather indifferent and said there was nothing she could do. She said the owner or manager or someone would call me, but I never received a phone call. So if they inconvenience you or you have a bad experience, they do absolutely nothing. On my return trip to my room, I noticed another cop car stationed in the parking lot. I decided to talk to the cop to get his feel for the hotel. He did mention similarly priced hotels will give a similar experience. He also confirmed the high heels I heard on the stairs at one in the morning was possibly prostitution and was not uncommon at this hotel. So more or less "you get what you pay for." I paid $60 a night and it was rated at $80 (according to Expedia). For $90 you can get a MUCH nicer hotel. I was in room 155 which is at the other end form the main desk (the hotel is shaped like a U). I definitely heard the freeway loud and clear the whole time in my room. Other rooms further back might not hear it as much as mine did though. Also plenty of people were outside smoking when I arrived on Monday night. Since nicer hotels have rooms that you get to from a hallway you don't have people smoking right in front of their rooms. Also there were holes in my sheets (rather large ones at the foot of the bed) and the drain in the sink was missing the grate covering. Not a big deal except you look down and notice the big wad of hair and stuff that is not yours. Really not a very good hotel. Even for $60, it isn't worth staying there. Spend a little more and stay in a nicer hotel. read more
