Stayed one night at Sterling Inn in order to get to SJC early morning. For a motel, I'd say this one is one of the better ones I've stayed at in recent memory. The biggest thing we wanted was a clean and safe room, and that's what we ended up experiencing. The bed was comfortable, mini fridge was a nice touch, and a working ac/heater combo. Without carpet, it both felt more modern but also recommended to bring your own slippers or indoor shoes. Bathroom looked and felt modernized which was great. Hot water took a long time to get there but it eventually did. Water pressure was decent but not outstanding, so I'd limit shower time especially in winter. Ed from the front desk was great. He was very friendly and helpful. We had a smoke detector issue come up in the early morning and we were able to ring the doorbell to get his attention and have the issue resolved. Thanks! Plenty of parking available and the inn is across from some good food spots. Would consider staying again if needed to head to the airport the night before.

This motel is the best in the San Jose area. The rooms are clean and updated with modern fixtures. The rate of the rooms are not bad considering it's right next to the airport it's very affordable. I know your thinking how could it get any better well it does, the front desk receptionist Ed provided exceptional customer service. I have stayed at this location a few times and every single time Ed goes out of his way to make us feel comfortable and cared for. Thank you Sterling Inn for being an amazing and affordable motel!

This is one of the more reasonably priced choices for lodging near the San Jose airport so I was a bit concerned, but figured it was only for one night. On entering the office we were warmly greeted and offered a lot of information in response to my questions concerning dining options, location to purchase wine (Safeway) and directions to the airport for the following morning. On entering our room, we were pleasantly surprised by both the updated decor and furnishings. It was appeared that there has been a recent renovation including modern fixtures in the bathroom. Overall, we were very pleased.

No ice machine you have to get ice from front office. A little bag that's all you get. Not worth the money. It's clean but that's it.

I am sure that it would be a good spot for folks staying longer term on business with the full size fridge and kitchenette. Room was decent sized, quiet and bed was comfortable. As mentioned, hotel is older and probably in need of a freshening or at least a good carpet cleaning in the common areas. Breakfast got the job done but on the lower end of included breakfasts. The eggs were clearly box/mix eggs, no mixed fruit or bagels. Staff was fine although no recognition of Hyatt tier status which is a big thing with the Hyatts that I stay at regularly including just two days ago. Parking was pretty easy although $18. Three stars. No major complaints but no props either.

There are only 3 guest parking spots by the entrance to check-in/unload. Most parking is below ground in a garage. There are a few spots towards the back that staff directed us to park in because of the location of our room, though signage said otherwise. Some notes on our room-- It was generally clean though one of our towels was stained (we got a new one by request) & I happened to find a used washcloth left in a dresser drawer. Ick. Ambient or surrounding noise wasn't an issue. The kitchen had a lot of dishware & utensils, but no sponge. The only clock was on the microwave. Between nooks, cabinets, drawers, & the closet, there was a fair amount of storage space. The shade worked well. There was a lot of lamp lighting available. There was a rolling table & chair. The bathroom sink area was outside of the toilet/shower area. Issues-- The thermostat didn't get the room as cool as I tried to set it. The bathroom door & closet door opened on each other. The shower had a little dinge & mold in the corners. The shower head suctioned cups to the wall, making it a weird angle. The water coming out felt like tiny powerful pin pricks. The water flow also created a wind tunnel effect. It was a weird/interesting shower experience! At one point, the ice machine on our floor was out of order. Breakfast items included ingredients to make tacos including pulled chicken or carnitas & lots of fixins, waffle making, yogurt, fruit, generic baked goods & breads, eggs, potato cakes or home fries, sausage links, oatmeal, cereals, apple juice & OJ, coffee & teas. Nice touches-- Board games were available to borrow. Media room was spacious with seating & a pool table. Coffee & hot water were always available in the lobby. Staff, from the front desk to maintenance, were friendly & helpful. Overall, a pretty ok stay.

Lino Fuoco, the manager on shift, gave me such a warm welcome and truly made an impression on me. I've stayed at many hotels over the years, and exceptional customer service really stands out. Lino went above and beyond and is exactly the kind of person you want representing the Hyatt brand. I really hope Hyatt leadership recognizes him for the experience he creates for guests, because employees like him are the reason people choose to come back. Will be staying here again on business travel in two weeks. Thank you, Lino! On another note, I had dinner at the Evolution restaurant, and although the food was mid, the customer service was amazing! It's been a long week and I can't seem to remember the kind female server but the experience was great. Rooms are comfy, cozy, and clean, and there is plenty of parking onsite, with lots of restaurants nearby.

The property was at max occupancy, which makes the level of service, organization, and attention to detail even more impressive. Dorothy was exceptional, especially with arrivals on a holiday weekend and a busy Sunday with the Niners away game ahead of the concert. She was friendly, efficient, clear in her communication, and went out of her way to make our stay feel special with placing us in a corner room on a high floor and early check-in so we could enjoy the Hilton Tailg8 and comfortably get ready before our events. My apologies for not catching his name, but a gentleman from the front desk noticed my husband and me taking photos in front of the lobby's beautiful living wall. He came over, offered to take our photos, and even suggested a few cute poses. It was such a thoughtful gesture and one of those little touches that made us feel genuinely welcomed. The rest of the front desk team was equally welcoming. Housekeeping was prompt in responding to our asks, and the bar staff kept service moving while remaining friendly and attentive throughout the Niners-Seahawks game. Standard Room Amenities: A small dry bar area contained a Keurig with assorted Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf pods, 2 comp bottles of water, ice bucket, glasses, and an adequate size mini fridge that kept our cocktails super chilled. The large closet has a garment steamer so we didn't have to lug ours in. The spacious bathroom was well lit and the water pressure was dreamy! There's a powerful hairdryer, adequate storage shelves, scrumptiously scented toiletries, plus well-lit vanities and a magnifying mirror. Perks: The Hilton Tailg8 was such a fun vibe! Spectacular food, string lights, red-and-gold lanterns throughout the lawn for the perfect Niner aesthetic, and a DJ spinnin bangers that kept everyone dancing. Open 3 hours before Levi's events and during 49ers game + 1 hour AFTER events end at Levi's. Special shoutout to Chef for the well-executed menu at Hilton's permanent food truck. The crispy fries, real chicken tendies, and juicy, flavorful burgers were exactly what we needed after the concert. Security and valet made getting in and out effortless despite the crowds. Between check-in, pregame dinner at Fleming's, and returning to the Hilton as our concert home base, everything was seamless, which our large group greatly appreciated. To top it off, the hotel is directly next to Levi's and hella walkable. It's actually closer than most of the stadium parking lots. Our first stay definitely won't be our last. We've already booked our next visit for another event at Levi's and can't wait to come back!

Unfortunately, due to a disturbing experience and the hotel management's appalling handling of the…read moresituation, actually lack of, I must update my rating of AC Hotel San Jose Santa Clara. If any establishment deserves negative stars, this place would definitely be it! On late Tuesday night/early Wednesday of May 20/21, 2025, I walked in past midnight to book a stay. Unfortunately, AC Hotel was fully booked. Fine. I asked the front desk agent, Roselyn, if I could stay in the lobby to search for another Marriott hotel stay since I am a Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite Member. She agreed, but after I used the restroom in the lobby and told her that all of the lavatories needed attention (NONE of the toilets were flushed, GROSS!), she seemed to change her mood. For some odd reason that night, the Marriott site was down and I could not view any available hotel rooms, so had to call Customer Service. I was put on hold for quite some time because all of the hotels in Santa Clara were fully booked. After a few minutes, Roselyn kicked me out of the hotel because "non-guests are not allowed to be in the lobby after a certain time." I asked her to make a special consideration for me because I was stranded and had no hotel room yet. She did not care and insisted that I leave and even fetched the security guard. She knew that I was alone with no place to go. She had no idea if I had transportation to go somewhere in the middle of the night. I felt like a criminal by Roselyn's unfriendly and incompassionate treatment. What extreme inhospitable treatment by someone in the hospitality industry! My experience prompted me to send feedback through the Marriott website and to call the AC Hotel to connect with the Hotel Manager, Fernando... I called on May 24 and Camille told me that Fernando would call me by Monday, the 26th. May 26 - no call from Fernando, so I called again and spoke to Shane who left a second message for Fernando. May 29 - still no call from Fernando, so I called again and left another message with Shane. Sholanda ended up calling me back instead. Not only did Fernando neglect to return my calls, my conversation with Sholanda was extremely disappointing and, frankly, shocking. I am starting to believe that the staff falls short of giving proper satisfactory customer service because management provides poor examples - After I filled Sholanda in on my interaction with Roselyn, she defended her team member by saying, "What kind of special consideration were you expecting? I wasn't there, so I can't say if Roselyn handled the situation inappropriately. Afterall, we do have protocol that non-guests should not be in the lobby after a certain time." I told her that I appreciate the protocol that looks out for the safety of AC guests and staff; however, although I was not a current guest at the time, I am still a Marriott Bonvoy customer and deserved a level of human compassion. When I told Sholanda that I work in the customer service field and found my treatment as unacceptable and offensive, Sholanda asked in what field because she wanted to compare if my expectations of Roselyn were aligned with hospitality. I told her that her inquiry was inappropriate, reminding her that it doesn't matter what field I am in because the goal of customer service is to ensure that clients feel valued and respected. Roselyn did not behave in such fashion. That is the core of the problem. Sholanda did not seem to understand this concept as she seemed more concerned with hearing Roselyn's side of the story. WOW. We ended the conversation with Sholanda telling me that she would have Fernando call me back. It's now the night of June 11 and I have not heard from him. There is definitely something wrong with the team at AC San Jose Santa Clara - AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU CAN HELP IT!

I don't know how I lived without it all these years. It's truly magical how it works. We explored all of San Jose without any hiccups. Located in central San Jose, right between all of our stops along the way. We started off at the Municipal Rose Garden, San Jose Art Museum, We ventured to Suburbia Japan Town, Historic Japantown, and our last stop was the Winchester Mystery house. We were less than 15 minutes between stops. We checked in around 6pm, it was still light out so we were able to easily find the hotel and then our room. Check in was a breeze. He checked in as I took pictures of the lobby where they had the perfect selfie backdrop and exotic chairs to lounge in. Not your typical lobby chairs or benches. Connected to the front lobby is the breakfast area. Breakfast is from 6am to 10am, I believe, but, don't quote me. Just ask at the front desk or call them from your room and they will tell you the exact hours. We had room 117 literally across from the gym on the first floor. The gym was a very quiet neighbor. We had no issue with sounds from neighbors during our stay. No pounding foot steps over head, no doors slamming all through the night, no blaring TVs, it was so quiet. The room was really nice. There was a lounge chair and foot rest there, unfortunately they were quite worn so we didn't use it. We did use the desk chair a little during our stay. They had a huge fridge and mini microwave. To our happy surprise they had a real Keuig machine and coffee pods to go with it. My husband could brew his own and didn't have to venture to the lobby to get his cup of Joe in the morning. It was such a relaxing morning. Around 8 o'clock after our showers we ventured out to the lobby for breakfast. I partook of the hot items, a folded over egg omelet without cheese in the center, potatoes, and 2 sausage links. Over the years I have come to love free hot breakfasts. I used to avoid the eggs like the plague, but now I have embraced it and love their hot breakfasts and fill up on the hot items. They also have a do it yourself waffle iron. I'm tempted, but the last 2 times I tried them I felt ill so I stay away from them. Something about the batter at hotels and I just don't agree. We also partook of their fresh fruit. We split a very juicy and sweet orange and a crisp pear. I wish our house offered a free hotel breakfast. The shower was hot and there was adequate pressure out of the shower head. The shower came with shampoo, a separate conditioner and body wash. I used the body wash and it was great. The bottle was full and just poured out into my washcloth when I took the cap off and squeezed the bottle. There was a bar of soap on the vanity were there was separate sink from the shower room. The room came with 2 floor mats so we had one in front of the sick and another by the tube. The king bed was comfortable and we slept through the night. We both used the gym. I walked on the treadmill and he used the recumbent bike. They also had a pool. We brought our suits, but it was a little cool to take a dip. I highly reccomend this inn to others.
