I think because the customers are mostly hotel guests, service is not so emphasized. They just leave the customers on their own; I see that there's either the alone business travel customer who ate with ear buds on and scrolling the phone, or a group who sat and chat with no server interruptions. We started with the bar tender and after we decided to sit down in a separate area to eat, our bar tender only came over to take our order and then since we only had ordered water for drinks, he asked if we wanted to have a tap open. When we said no, he just closed the tap and gave us the bill before our food arrived. The menu has a few categories to suit people eating at different times. I like the Pan Fried Red Fish which came on a bed of white rice and bak choy soaked in some mild curry sauce. The Wagyu Burger came with some interesting purple bread but my friend said it wasn't good at all as the beef patty was not juicy that it didn't seem like it's wagyu. We did not try the cocktails as they seemed pricey at over 20 bucks for a glass.

This review is just about my experience at Bosc & Bartlett this July. Since I was at the hotel for a convention, I knew there would be a volume of people eating lunch at the same time. I felt like the staff were completely ill-equipped to deal with the number of people, with only two of them working the bar and dining area. I could probably suggest even having a third person or having a system where you can order and pay on an app would help this out a lot. It didn't seem possible for these two people to serve all the tables. I usually don't try to single someone out as not being a great server, but the male waiter seemed poorly trained. When you bring someone their food, you can bring utensils at the same time. Even if someone is eating a sandwich, they probably want a napkin with it. I had to ask several times to get utensils. What I got was plastic utensils, which broke halfway through my trying to eat my salad. Really not adequate for the food provided. But when I asked the waiter if I could have another fork, he said "in a minute" without looking up at me, and never got back to me, so I struggled on with a half-fork. If they had either real utensils for those eating salad or utensils out so people could grab them, that would solve this problem. The food was good enough, though I would have liked more dressing on my salad and the sauce that was supposed to come with the fries (or even an offer of ketchup), but it's not like anyone came back to check on how I was doing. I flagged down the woman behind the bar to pay because I was in a hurry. Everything took a very long time - which I know happens sometimes. Though I would think if you are serving a group convention, you can figure that some of the attendees would want to have lunch and have more staff for that time period!

Tried two of the cocktails at Alter Ego. Overall, both have different vibes. Alter Ego is good for a more intimate dark setting date vibe. Service was pretty good at Still OG! The Asian bartender checked in several times and was really nice as well as provided some recommendations on which happy hour specials were most popular which helps since I'm indecisive. The back does seem like a more classy environment and I'd choose this setting over a dive bar any day. The music at still OG that they were playing at the time wasn't my cup of tea, but I'm sure they mix it up from time to time. I would love to hear some oldies!

The front was pretty full so we checked out Alter Ego first, but they were also full with nothing available until 11pm, so Still OG it was. You grab a spot yourself and then order at the bar. All cocktails are on tap, which actually ended up being great because I was between a few of them and the bartender was able to give me samples of them. We also ended up getting an order of the Chicken skewers, which were super tender and juicy. We were too late on our visit, but they do have a daily happy hour that includes some of the skewers and fries, as well as some drinks and shots. Service was super friendly and vibes and music were great! Cocktails, weren't the best since they were on tap, but still good enough! I would absolutely come back here for a drink and snack though!

They had hyped it up quite a bit, so I came in with high expectations--and it lived up to them. We went on a Friday night and didn't even have to pay a cover, which was a great surprise. The inside had beautiful Japanese-inspired decor that gave the place a unique atmosphere, and even with how busy it was, everything felt well-maintained. The bathrooms were clean, which is always a plus. The staff were incredibly attentive and worked hard to make sure everyone was taken care of, even though the bar was absolutely packed. The DJ was amazing that night too! My friends and I spent most of our time on the dance floor because the music was so good. Overall, the energy, service, and atmosphere made for such a fun night out. Kaizen has officially become one of my favorite downtown spots, and I'll definitely be coming back whenever I'm looking for a fun night with great vibes and good company.

The drinks were expensive, but that's hardly shocking. It's Santana Row, where apparently every cocktail comes with a small surcharge for the privilege of being seen holding it. The seating situation was particularly frustrating. There were plenty of open seats, yet somehow one person managed to occupy an entire table meant for our party of six while staff looked on as if this was an unsolvable diplomatic crisis. We spent more time watching empty chairs than enjoying our drinks. Not terrible, not great. Just an exercise in patience with a side of overpriced cocktails.
