I was staying at the hotel for a conference and dropped down for a quick dinner and drinks. I was seated and immediately asked for my order. Then the first server realized that I didn't have a menu yet. She grabbed a menu and gave it to me before leaving the bar. The second server came over and took my order and a card for my tab. Immediately after he walked away, a third server tried to take my order. The drinks were excellent. The risotto was basically just wet rice with mushrooms. It was tasty but left a lot to be desired.

Leaving the door ajar for improvements as they are clearly still working out kinks in execution. We went at the tail end of happy hour and they were gracious in giving us time to order off the happy hour menu. It's good value - generally $10-12 for $20+ items. Love the lobby/restaurant concept here - modern, sleek bar combined with relaxing patio seating adjacent to their large pool. Really wanted a Red Bull vodka but the waiter said it would be about another $1. Hmmm didn't know Red Bull was considered a premium drink and didn't like the way he was unsure. So got the gin and tonic instead - it turned out really flat - I could tell they used cheap gin. So left it after two sips. B + B Burger - great arrangement and the patty was cooked medium rare - fries were great, and the bacon was crispy. I would have preferred they hold the orange sauce - it honestly tasted like thousand island dressing which unfortunately altered the whole complexion of the burger. Hibachi Salmon Belly Musubi - pleasantly surprising to see this higher end dish on a happy hour menu - it was good, fatty as expected, and even greasier than I thought. Sriracha Chicken Wings - plump, and juicy chicken with just the right amount of kick. Sriracha is like salt and pepper in the Bay Area so the dish itself is a tribute to local cuisine. Alongside the wings are celery/carrot sticks and nicely sized cup of cool ranch dressing. Several times (not just once) during the meal a server tried to deliver a dish that belonged to another table. It also took a considerable amount of time to find our server to bring the check - we had to ask for his whereabouts eventually. Also not every table had the happy hour menu for some reason. Each shortcoming not major, but it adds up. Food is very much in the 3-4 star range but had to downgrade for the disorganization in service. Would very much like to try the standard menu next time.

My friends and I were staying at the Marriott for the niners game and we actually had drinks here before and after the game. We also ordered nachos were were just okay, I probably wouldn't order them again. The meat to the nachos were a little bland and they were also $18. As for drinks I was a little disappointed they were out of bloody mary mix so I just settled for prosecco. We thought the prices for drinks were reasonable considering it is a hotel bar. The service was good as the bartenders were pretty attentive. The bar itself is nice as it is located near the hotel lobby and they also have a few tvs to watch whatever sports games are on. After the game, the service was still good considering the whole place was packed. This is definitely a great place to hang out before and after a game.

There is no signage just checked in at the bar and was told to sit anywhere.

Stopped in for dinner with family. Usually don't go to a hotel for dinner so this was very different for me. However I'm glad we came here for dinner because it was definitely delicious. We sat at the patio near the pool which was nice. The food was very well seasoned, flavorful and delicious. We ordered pepper appetizers which I had never had before but they were so good that I would come just to have them again. Our waiter was very attentive to our needs. Definitely satisfied with the food and service. Oh almost forgot, dessert was awesome. Pistachio cheesecake is a must have.

Since the regular menu prices are typical hotel rates - I planned and executed a happy hour dinner (3-6pm weekdays). I ordered the wings ($10); poke bowl ($14); and 2 Sulpin IPAs ($7 ea). Got my drink fast. Food came at a reasonable time after I ordered. The ambiance is great. Lots of room at the bar. Nice view and open air patio near the pool. It was quiet. Plenty of TVs to watch if you're solo or want to watch any sports. Wings were great and came with carrots, celery and bleu cheese dip. The ahi poke was filling with a nice bed of rice. So, happy hour was perfect if you don't feel like walking anywhere else. However, there are several alternatives within a mile.

Great and impressive restaurant for Marriott. I was pleasantly surprised on the food and service here. The decor is very clean and the servers here are very polite. You seat yourself either at be bar or at the tables. If you sit by the windows you get a view of the pool. We came in at 5:59 and the server was very kind to squeeze our orders in before HH ended at 6. The salmon belly was aight. It came with onions, ginger, rice, and flavored cucumbers. It was very light. 3/5 Sriracha wings and drumsticks were hot! Flavorful and juicy, definitely recommend. 4.5/5 Poke bowl was simple, but the star is the fish. I believe they get their fish straight from Hawaii. The bowl came with ginger, onion, and 3 slices of avocado. The poke was covered in this thick brown sauce to give it a bit of sweetness. This is shareable between two people. 4/5 If you come here make sure you get your parking ticket validated so you can avoid paying for parking. We didn't know that so when we left the parking attendant let us off the hook. Love the food, ambiance, and service.

I am type 1 diabetic and allergic to gluten and Regina went above and beyond to make my dinner perfect! The shrimp was delicious and the sub out of soba noodles for brown rice with shrimp stir fry was perfect! So good! Will definitely be back!

This is a new restaurant at the Marriott Santa Clara and its open to the patio and you can see the pool too. Their food is awesome American with Asian twist. I love the environment there and the staff are very friendly! Look for Jawed or Juan they will take care of you! Also try their wasabi steak sandwich and the poke trio! Crazy good. Great cocktails as well!

You could stumble upon it through Yelp (as we did), discover it while staying at the adjacent Treehouse Hotel, or simply hear about it through word of mouth. The parking situation is an interesting one. After turning into the driveway from Mathilda Avenue, you have two options: turn right for valet parking or left into the Google parking lot. There are plenty of spaces available, though parking there is technically at your own risk. The restaurant told us they had not heard of anyone being ticketed or towed. We first dined here shortly after it opened in 2025 and were immediately impressed by the beautiful grounds. The hotel's eco-conscious gift shop, housed in a glass greenhouse and featuring a colorful vintage VW Bug, is a charming touch. The short walk to the restaurant feels especially relaxing on a warm, sunny day. This has become one of our favorite places to bring friends or host girls' lunches. With three distinct seating options: the dining room, bar, and patio, there's an atmosphere to suit just about any occasion, whether you're dining as a couple or gathering with a larger group. I would recommend visiting during lunch or dinner service and skipping the in-between hours. During that time, only the bar area is open and the menu is more limited. To fully experience what Valley Goat has to offer, lunch or dinner is the way to go. Despite the name, the only goat dish on the menu at the time of this review is the Goat Empanadas. My friend was initially hesitant to order them, but David, our wonderful server, and I encouraged her to give them a try. She was glad she did. There was no gamey flavor whatsoever; the meat tasted more like beef, and the accompanying sauce was excellent. Over several visits, we've enjoyed everything we've ordered and are delighted to have a restaurant of this caliber in our Bay Area backyard. Chef and co-owner Stephanie Izard, winner of Season 4 of Top Chef and an Iron Chef title, owns a total of nine restaurants, primarily in the Chicago area, along with locations in Los Angeles and one at Orlando International Airport. Since we enjoy traveling for great food, we'll definitely be adding some of her other restaurants to our list.

The service was quite slow throughout the evening. We ordered the goat empanadas, wood-fired Mary's chicken, sprouted cauliflower, eggplant, and sticky pork shank. What surprised me most was how similar everything tasted. From the appetizers to the main dishes, the flavors seemed repetitive and lacked distinction. Each dish looked appealing, but none really stood out. Overall, the food felt uninspired, and I didn't get the sense that much care had gone into developing unique flavors for the menu. Given the many 5-star reviews, I was expecting much more and left feeling disappointed. The ambiance is lovely, but I would not return for the food. Don't be misled by the photos, they were far more impressive than the actual dining experience.

What an incredible dish. Three pearls where you find a match between the crunch and pop between the peas razor clam and roe. The texture between the tapioca and roe. The salinity from the roe to the oysters and clam. The idea of "pearls" with oysters and clams. The whole dish is so harmonized on so many levels. This is a stunning dish. With a tiny sign denoting the restaurant, not sure if one would be able to find it if they didn't know what they were looking for. The interior feels like a cozy home, with warm lighting and just a few tables, surrounded by bookshelves. You get a clear view of the inner workings of the kitchen and the staff are super friendly. The head chef and wife were also working in the back and come out to greet the customers. The concept is quite appealing - Korean food, reimagined with Western influence. Their ingredients are high quality and many of the vegetables come from the farmers market. The menu when we visited was: *Pearl Trio - Raw oysters and roe on a bed of tapioca. I have never had savory tapioca before, but I really enjoy the pairing. The pearls had just the right amount of bite and absorbed the sauce quite nicely. *Braised pork belly - Extremely tender and glazed with doenjang. *Caviar and razor clam - This was a supplement and I was glad we got it. The base was a pillow of steam egg. The pickles on top paired well with the savory caviar. *Organic chicken and gravy - Probably my favorite dish. Doesn't sound that crazy, but they really executed on the chicken. They injected it with brine so it was very juicy. They also air-dried the skin overnight (kinda like Chinese duck) to create a crispy exterior. The charred green onions on the side was a nice touch *Strawberry tart - The spiral design was eye catching. The strawberries added a nice tart flavor and the sweetness was just right. What I find most impressive is that they change their menu every month. How they maintain the quality despite this change really shows how much work they put into it. And the price point is just a fraction of other fine dining restaurants. I think they are able to do this by keeping the food relatively simple while focusing more on the flavors. I will definitely be coming back to try the other menus.

This was supposed to be a special birthday dinner date that my husband meticulously planned for me,…read morebut it turned into the most horrendous dining experience I've ever had. We dined at Lira on November 14th. The Service (or Lack Thereof): The Menu Shortage: We arrived for our 6:45 PM reservation only to be told by the manager that they didn't have enough menus. We were told they'd bring them "later." Ignored for 35+ Minutes: We sat with nothing but water for over half an hour. To make matters worse, a table of six was seated after us and received their full entrees while we were completely ignored. The Drink Mess: After 40 minutes, the server told me they were out of ingredients for my drink. When I picked a second option, she tried to insist I wanted a drink with celery (my most despised vegetable). We thankfully stopped her before it was made, but the incompetence was staggering. The Food Fiasco: An hour into our reservation, someone dropped off a scallop dish. A while later, a server asked if I'd "received the scallops yet," and I realized the plate I was eating wasn't even intended for our table. We were so starving that my husband and I just shared them. Once we finished, the server finally asked my husband if he "still wanted his meal or if he wanted to cancel it." I finally lost my cool - of course he still wanted his dinner! The Aftermath: My husband didn't realize that my friends had actually made a separate reservation to take me back to this same spot the following night for a second birthday celebration. After this performance, there was no way I was going to step foot in this building again or give them another cent of our money. I texted my friends from the table to cancel those reservations and book elsewhere. With service this disorganized and insulting, this restaurant won't be in business long. Super disappointing. Don't waste your special occasions here. *Edit - it looks like Lira has closed. With the service we experienced, I am not surprised in the slightest. I am hopeful that whichever future business occupies this space is more successful.

I thought some dishes were great; the wagyu burger was decadent. Other dishes were not that special. The scallops didn't taste too fresh (likely frozen) and combining them with hummus didn't quite work. The side of bread was practically insulting. $5 for stale table bread was a surprise. Dishes arrived very late; we were nearly forgotten when we tried to order, and then after ordering, we waited 40 minutes between appetizers and the main course. Not because they were cooking it; they just forgot we were there and when they brought out the dishes, the scallops were no longer just-cooked, and the burger had been sitting for a bit. No apology, just an acknowledgment it was late, and no discount (not even on the stale bread). They offered us wine, we said we didn't drink, and they just moved on. I debated a lot about how to review this. It's my personal experience that was disappointing, and I'm glad some reviews are very upbeat. But there's a handful of reviews noting frustrating delays... and that needs to be worked on.

Living with multiple food allergies can make eating out stressful and, at times, discouraging. Many restaurants try their best, but it's rare to encounter someone who goes as far above and beyond as Jason did. From the very beginning, Jason took my allergies seriously. Rather than treating them as a simple modification request, he took the time to understand my specific concerns and personally communicated with the chef to ensure every precaution was taken. What impressed me most was that he didn't just ask once and move on--he followed up multiple times throughout the process, making sure every item I received was prepared as safely as possible. His level of attention and care gave me confidence that my health and safety truly mattered. Jason's kindness was evident in every interaction. He patiently answered questions, verified ingredients, and double-checked preparation methods. Instead of making me feel like my allergies were an inconvenience, he made me feel welcomed and valued as a guest. That level of empathy means more than people without food allergies may realize. The extra precautions taken in the kitchen were remarkable. Jason coordinated with the chef to ensure separate cooking methods were used whenever necessary and that steps were taken to minimize any risk of cross-contact. My food was packaged separately and clearly distinguished from the rest of the order, which immediately showed me how much thought had gone into keeping my meal safe. Even more touching were the notes left on the packaging specifically for me. Those small details demonstrated a level of personal care that is incredibly rare in the restaurant industry. Because of my allergies, my meal options were understandably limited. I ordered a plain burger with sautéed green beans, while my friends enjoyed several different burgers from the menu. Although my meal was simple, it was prepared perfectly. The burger was cooked exactly as requested, allowing the quality of the meat to stand on its own, and the green beans were fresh, tender, and flavorful. Most importantly, I was able to enjoy a restaurant meal with confidence instead of anxiety. My friends thoroughly enjoyed their burgers as well, commenting on the flavor, quality, and preparation. It was wonderful that everyone at the table could have a great dining experience, despite having very different dietary needs. What touched me most from this visit isn't just the food--it's the care. Jason's willingness to communicate with the chef, verify ingredients, package items separately, use special preparation methods, and personally check in throughout the process transformed what could have been a stressful experience into an enjoyable one. For those of us with food allergies, being able to order food safely is something we never take for granted. Jason made that possible. Exceptional customer service is often defined as exceeding expectations, and Jason exceeded mine at every step. His professionalism, compassion, attention to detail, and genuine concern for guest safety are truly commendable. I am incredibly grateful for the effort he put into accommodating my allergies and ensuring I could enjoy a meal without worry. Experiences like this create loyal customers, and Jason is a perfect example of how kindness and care can make a lasting impact.
