This is a restaurant inside Marriott near Mission College. The restaurant is not big but it has a big nice bar area. I think because the customers are mostly hotel guests, service is not so emphasized. They just leave the customers on their own; I see that there's either the alone business travel customer who ate with ear buds on and scrolling the phone, or a group who sat and chat with no server interruptions. We started with the bar tender and after we decided to sit down in a separate area to eat, our bar tender only came over to take our order and then since we only had ordered water for drinks, he asked if we wanted to have a tap open. When we said no, he just closed the tap and gave us the bill before our food arrived. The menu has a few categories to suit people eating at different times. I like the Pan Fried Red Fish which came on a bed of white rice and bak choy soaked in some mild curry sauce. The Wagyu Burger came with some interesting purple bread but my friend said it wasn't good at all as the beef patty was not juicy that it didn't seem like it's wagyu. I've been to this Marriott three years in a row for a wonderful convention, and I've found it overall very nice. The staff are lovely and the convention rooms are great. This review is just about my experience at Bosc & Bartlett this July. Since I was at the hotel for a convention, I knew there would be a volume of people eating lunch at the same time. I felt like the staff were completely ill-equipped to deal with the number of people, with only two of them working the bar and dining area. I could probably suggest even having a third person or having a system where you can order and pay on an app would help this out a lot. It didn't seem possible for these two people to serve all the tables. I usually don't try to single someone out as not being a great server, but the male waiter seemed poorly trained. When you bring someone their food, you can bring utensils at the same time. Even if someone is eating a sandwich, they probably want a napkin with it. I had to ask several times to get utensils. What I got was plastic utensils, which broke halfway through my trying to eat my salad. Really not adequate for the food provided. But when I asked the waiter if I could have another fork, he said "in a minute" without looking up at me, and never got back to me, so I struggled on with a half-fork. If they had either real utensils for those eating salad or utensils out so people could grab them, that would solve this problem. The food was good enough, though I would have liked more dressing on my salad and the sauce that was supposed to come with the fries (or even an offer of ketchup), but it's not like anyone came back to check on how I was doing. I flagged down the woman behind the bar to pay because I was in a hurry. Everything took a very long time - which I know happens sometimes. Though I would think if you are serving a group convention, you can figure that some of the attendees would want to have lunch and have more staff for that time period! read more

A wonderful and lively spot where their food is as as good as the staff that works here! They are all very fun and kind and stays very nice not matter how busy they are. I rec the salad with the vegan burger as it's really well made and its tastes are wonderful - their wine selection is great and their happy hour deals on wine is small but worth it. They're expensive as one would expect to pay at a lobby bar. I do feel that with the closing of Great America amusement park across the street, though they do need to tweak these downwards. Your meal will run you in the $75 range but your paying former prices for an amusement park-style of price spike. read more

We ate at Bosc and Bartlett during a convention. The four of us arrived at 6:30 on a Saturday and waited five mins for a table. Our server was pleasant, if not efficient. The girl who took our drink order served one of them wrong. Our food arrived in about 15 mins. I wasn't very hungry, so I only ordered the Birria Fries and a Caesar salad. The fries were okay. The avocado on top was somewhat brown and the fries were limp before I even started eating. The salad was very disappointing. The dressing was very..,not like Caesar. It had no zing, possibly due to no anchovies and garlic was nonexistent. It was a very sad meal for the value: two Caesar salads, one birria fry, one regular hamburger, one chicken finger order, a coke and a Manhattan that was made wrong for $133. I was staying at the hotel for a conference and dropped down for a quick dinner and drinks. I was seated and immediately asked for my order. Then the first server realized that I didn't have a menu yet. She grabbed a menu and gave it to me before leaving the bar. The second server came over and took my order and a card for my tab. Immediately after he walked away, a third server tried to take my order. The drinks were excellent. The risotto was basically just wet rice with mushrooms. Wow, the most horrible of all horrible experiences. We stayed at the Marriott, which you would imagine to have top notch service and quality given the proximity to Silicon Valley and Levi Stadium. Furthest thing from it. My mom and I sat ourselves in the bar area (per instructions on the sign) - nobody came to tend to us so, after 10 minutes, I went up to the bar to place our order. After waiting around awkwardly for 5 more minutes, finally one of the bartenders came to take my order. We wanted to get the Lollipop lambs but we were informed "that item takes a long time" - cool, thanks for the heads up. So we change our order to the Hummus plate and the Arepas sandwich plate. We ordered a couple of drinks - they make you pay up front - $100+ with tax and tip. We settle in to wait for our order, enjoying our drinks. An HOUR later, still no food. No word from anyone about the status of our order. Meanwhile, over and over, we watch a young kid rolling out a giant cart with plates of food. He'd set the cart down then one by one bring plates to the appropriate tables. This process would take 10 minutes, so we'd see plates sitting around for long periods of time. So unnecessary - why wouldn't they hire additional people to bring these plates to tables efficiently? Mind blowing. We finally got fed up and went to the bar to ask to cancel our order. We were told by "Bree" that "accounting is closed" so they could not cancel the order until "a day or two". She gave us massive attitude and only when I pressed to get information from her so I could follow up with my credit card company did she take down my information so she could "follow up". She finally decided that $45 would be refunded (minus our drinks and FAT tip - based on the full tab - that I initially generously paid). We were so annoyed at this point and just wanted to go eat somewhere decent so we just left. Food for thought: wonder when those Lollipop Lambs would have arrived?!? hmmm.... What a joke. We ended up going to Puesto 1/2 mile away and enjoyed a fantastic meal. Who wants to bet I receive no credit and noone follows up?? Save your $$$$ Doordash or drive to one of the other hotels - the Hyatt is great! read more

The hotel use to have really good food at their nicer restaurant and the bar. I been staying at the hotel since the 90s. I was disappointed in a simple salad with chicken. $30 for the salad ($21 for the salad, $9 for the chicken), and $24 for the burger and sweet potato fries. We only got food from this "restaurant" because of convenience but would have gotten significantly better food significantly faster. We ordered at 11:05 and got a 15 minute estimation. A wait time of 15-20 minutes would have been acceptable, but 40 minutes was absurd. The salad would have been good for $10. The burger would have been okay for $15. At least the burger was cooked fresh, but I'm not sure if the salad was prepackaged with leftover chicken placed on top. read more

No happy hour but the prices are reasonable already. We were here for a conference and the parking garage was a nightmare so we stepped back inside to have a drink and appetizer. The cocktails were delicious including the zero proof's menu (try the summer breeze). Had a mushroom pizza (crisp and flavorful) to go with our drinks and we lounge around on comfortable seating. Special thanks to our waitress julieta who is attentive and kind - she made the experience perfect. Would return if in the area for sure. read more

Leaving the door ajar for improvements as they are clearly still working out kinks in execution. We went at the tail end of happy hour and they were gracious in giving us time to order off the happy hour menu. It's good value - generally $10-12 for $20+ items. Love the lobby/restaurant concept here - modern, sleek bar combined with relaxing patio seating adjacent to their large pool. Really wanted a Red Bull vodka but the waiter said it would be about another $1. Hmmm didn't know Red Bull was considered a premium drink and didn't like the way he was unsure. So got the gin and tonic instead - it turned out really flat - I could tell they used cheap gin. So left it after two sips. B + B Burger - great arrangement and the patty was cooked medium rare - fries were great, and the bacon was crispy. I would have preferred they hold the orange sauce - it honestly tasted like thousand island dressing which unfortunately altered the whole complexion of the burger. Hibachi Salmon Belly Musubi - pleasantly surprising to see this higher end dish on a happy hour menu - it was good, fatty as expected, and even greasier than I thought. Sriracha Chicken Wings - plump, and juicy chicken with just the right amount of kick. Sriracha is like salt and pepper in the Bay Area so the dish itself is a tribute to local cuisine. Alongside the wings are celery/carrot sticks and nicely sized cup of cool ranch dressing. Several times (not just once) during the meal a server tried to deliver a dish that belonged to another table. It also took a considerable amount of time to find our server to bring the check - we had to ask for his whereabouts eventually. Also not every table had the happy hour menu for some reason. Each shortcoming not major, but it adds up. Food is very much in the 3-4 star range but had to downgrade for the disorganization in service. Our server, Kamir, was attentive, polite, and helpful in guiding us through the menu options. The food choices include a variety of options for light dining or full entrees. My friends and I were staying at the Marriott for the niners game and we actually had drinks here before and after the game. We also ordered nachos were were just okay, I probably wouldn't order them again. The meat to the nachos were a little bland and they were also $18. As for drinks I was a little disappointed they were out of bloody mary mix so I just settled for prosecco. We thought the prices for drinks were reasonable considering it is a hotel bar. The service was good as the bartenders were pretty attentive. The bar itself is nice as it is located near the hotel lobby and they also have a few tvs to watch whatever sports games are on. After the game, the service was still good considering the whole place was packed. This is definitely a great place to hang out before and after a game. read more

Stopped in for dinner with family. Usually don't go to a hotel for dinner so this was very different for me. However I'm glad we came here for dinner because it was definitely delicious. We sat at the patio near the pool which was nice. The food was very well seasoned, flavorful and delicious. We ordered pepper appetizers which I had never had before but they were so good that I would come just to have them again. Our waiter was very attentive to our needs. Definitely satisfied with the food and service. Oh almost forgot, dessert was awesome. Pistachio cheesecake is a must have. read more

Since the regular menu prices are typical hotel rates - I planned and executed a happy hour dinner (3-6pm weekdays). I ordered the wings ($10); poke bowl ($14); and 2 Sulpin IPAs ($7 ea). Got my drink fast. Food came at a reasonable time after I ordered. The ambiance is great. Lots of room at the bar. Nice view and open air patio near the pool. It was quiet. Plenty of TVs to watch if you're solo or want to watch any sports. Wings were great and came with carrots, celery and bleu cheese dip. The ahi poke was filling with a nice bed of rice. So, happy hour was perfect if you don't feel like walking anywhere else. However, there are several alternatives within a mile. read more

Great and impressive restaurant for Marriott. I was pleasantly surprised on the food and service here. The decor is very clean and the servers here are very polite. You seat yourself either at be bar or at the tables. If you sit by the windows you get a view of the pool. We came in at 5:59 and the server was very kind to squeeze our orders in before HH ended at 6. The salmon belly was aight. It came with onions, ginger, rice, and flavored cucumbers. It was very light. 3/5 Sriracha wings and drumsticks were hot! Flavorful and juicy, definitely recommend. 4.5/5 Poke bowl was simple, but the star is the fish. I believe they get their fish straight from Hawaii. The bowl came with ginger, onion, and 3 slices of avocado. The poke was covered in this thick brown sauce to give it a bit of sweetness. This is shareable between two people. 4/5 If you come here make sure you get your parking ticket validated so you can avoid paying for parking. We didn't know that so when we left the parking attendant let us off the hook. Love the food, ambiance, and service. read more

This place is the worst. Waited an hour for a to go order of tacos. Got the wrong food and they did nothing to ease the hour long wait for the wrong food. Another 20min to make tacos. Service was awful. Offer 1 drink in that hour. Had to ask over the bar for another drink. Will not stay at this hotel ever again with service like this. Disgraceful. read more
