Glad they have this posted. Not many bars that I frequent have this up.

I was looking for a local bar to wait out the traffic after work and I'm sad I didn't find this place sooner! I came in on a Wednesday and was greeted by Trinity and she was amazing. I can see that they have their regulars and she treated everyone kindly. I will most definitely come back here whenever I'm working the area.

After dinner at Mio Vicino on July 11, 2023, Edward, Ray, Garry and I decided to walk a few steps to the Thirsty Bar to treat birthday boy Brent to some celebratory drinks. We walked in shortly after 9:15 PM. The bar was practically empty, only a table or two occupied, maybe a couple of people at the bar counter, and two people playing pool. Needless to say, we immediately found a table to seat ourselves. A mix of 70's and 80's songs was playing along which Brent was joyfully singing. The bar was dim with lights coming from the game area as well as from the television screens playing sports above the bar. In the dark, the venue appeared to be well kept, even the women's bathroom was clean, pretty pristine compared to the filthy toilet at Mio Vicino. No table service here...or just on the night of our visit. No worries, the bar counter was only a few steps away from our table to place our drink orders. Transaction time from placing orders to receiving the drinks was quick and easy, as it should be. We ordered two rounds during our visit of about a couple of hours. The Thirsty Bar looks like it has potential to be a cool local bar hangout, attracting crowds, especially if they play good music. I wouldn't be surprised if some dancing occurs here. I, myself, wouldn't drive nearly an hour from my house just to a grab a drink here unless it's for a planned special event with others. One observation that I should mention - as we were sitting, enjoying our drinks, a customer walked out and had a yelling exchange of profanities with the bartender. I think it was drama, but it could have possibly just been punk rock behaviour between two persons. Hard so say, but if that kind of stuff makes you uncomfortable, then maybe you should skip this place.

Me and my bf go here on Wednesdays to see Nick and do the pool tournament. He is very personable and makes great drinks. He's funny and attentive to customers and is always in a good mood. The vibe is chill and people here are nice. I highly recommend coming to this bar if you want to have a chill, fun night. Theres also a smoke shop next door. Win win.

I walked in and stood waiting to be seated while an employee, who appeared to be the owner or manager, continued talking with her kids instead of acknowledging customers. I don't mind waiting, but a simple "We'll be right with you" would have made all the difference. I decided to give them another chance. On a later visit, I spent a few hours working there and ordered drinks. When a friend joined me, he sat down and was completely ignored. No one came over to greet him or ask if he'd like anything. We eventually had to flag someone down just so he could place an order. After that, our server mentioned that Tuesdays were buy one, get one free on wine. I ordered my second glass, but it never arrived. When I asked another server about it, I was made to feel like I was inconveniencing them. The irony is that I would have happily paid full price--I wasn't the one asking for a deal. They were the ones who brought up the promotion, then acted bothered when I politely asked about the wine that was never delivered. The final straw was our most recent visit. We were seated at a table by the staff, only to be told a few minutes later that we had to move because the tables were supposedly reserved for the party sitting behind us. We moved without making an issue of it, but no one ever ended up using those tables for the entire time we were there. It was frustrating to be relocated after being seated, especially when the explanation didn't match what actually happened. At this point, it's hard to view these experiences as isolated incidents. The common theme has been inattentive service and an attitude that makes customers feel like they're an inconvenience rather than guests. There are too many great wine bars that genuinely appreciate their customers for me to spend any more time or money here.

What we ordered: 1 Caviar Starter: $44 Kettle Chips & Caviar Dip Sour Cream and Onion, Cured Egg Yolk - excellent little appetizer to start, served w a mini spoon to help scoop dip onto chips. kettle chips were very thin, crisp and fragrant. 2 Main Courses: $60 Slowly Cooked Pork Shank Creamy Bulgur, Salsa Verde, Tomato Jus - the meat was cooked perfectly, with flavorful tender pork that pulled off the bone easily w fork and knife. creamy bulgur was a tad salty as a base carb to pair w the protein, but also very flavorful so not much of the sauce boat of salsa verde was needed. $49 Whole Roasted Branzino Anchovies, Capers, Chives - the fish was excellent, though plating could have included some sort of veg or carb accompaniment besides the sauce boat of liquid butter w herbs. 3 Drinks: $19 Last Word Gin, Green Chartreuse, Maraschino, Lime - solid. Mezcal Old Fashioned (off the menu) - requested it made w chocolate bitters; bartender came out to table side to inform that he didn't have these on hand, but suggested he use their housemade bitters instead. turned out well! $15 Brucato Woodlands (digestif) hit the spot as a proper after-dinner drink sipped neat. It's a California-made amaro w dominant flavor notes of elderberry, cocoa nibs, black fig, and citrus; glad to see it offered on the menu alongside both green and yellow chartreuses :) Service was excellent even though they were busy at times, our server was thoughtful to check in periodically while bussers were polite. Note: Walk to the bathrooms is long -- need to pass through the entire restaurant and then down a long hallway in the rear, so just keep in mind if you are bringing children or elders. Nearest parking garage is underground but has elevators up to street level and is close to restaurant entrance. Nice date spot! FYI this place opened in March 2025 and is owned/managed by Bacchus, within the same Bay Area portfolio as Pizza Antica (across the street also in Santana Row) and both Michelin-starred spots on the peninsula - Selby's in Menlo Park & Village Pub in Woodside.

The salmon itself was good, but I don't think the quinoa was a good match with the dish. The flatbread was the most disliked item we had. It was a bit bland and too doughy. We enjoyed the Peyrassol Rosé (France 2025), which was not only nice to see but also nice to drink. Love the smooth texture and taste. IMHO My friends and…read moreI came to Left Bank for a celebratory birthday lunch. We chose a comfy booth inside the restaurant after realizing it was just a tad too warm to sit outside. (However, people watching is so much fun when sitting outside!) Cosme was our fabulous server who shared the daily specials with us. I asked him which I should choose, the Ahi Tuna BLT, $26, or the Nicoise Salad, $31. He recommended the BLT! Two friends decided to share the Wester Ross Scottish Salmon, $36, and our other friend ordered her favorite Nicoise salad, $31. My Ahi Tuna BLT was a sight to behold! This sourdough sandwich was crunchy on the outside and multi-layered with sliced ahi tuna, bacon, avocado, tomato, butter lettuce and a horseradish aioli, on the inside, and served with a side of thin and crispy French fries! The portion size was so big that I could only eat half the sandwich! I really like bang-for-my-buck, and I definitely got it with this entree! The fries were perfection, salty and crispy! My friend who always ordered the Nicoise salad when she dines here, totally cleaned her plate. This salad was another showstopper. It was almost too pretty to eat! The two friends who shared the salmon entree were not as impressed. They both thought the salmon was a tad dry when Cosme explained it should be served medium. One friend thought the cauliflower puree base helped to compensate a little for the dryness of the salmon, but the other friend chose to share her displeasure with Cosme, who apologized, then relayed the message to the chef. Shortly after, Cosme offered to have another salmon cooked, which my friends agreed to. Then Left Bank's general manager, Jessica, came over to ask how we were enjoying our meal. Jessica kindly heard their comments regarding the salmon (and the price for a small serving...no bang-for-your-buck with the salmon...) and offered to have another salmon served up for them. (We told her that Cosme had already arranged for that.) She assured she would inspect the next serving before it was presented. It came out looking even more beautiful and enticing then the first plating, and happily the cook and texture was perfect the second time around! I was surprised with a birthday plate of ice cream decorated with raspberries, a chocolate leaf, and yummy crushed wafers, compliments of Jessica. Thank you, Jessica, Cosme, and your staff for your epic customer service. We will definitely return again soon! I also used my InKind app to pay for my meal. I was able to redeem my InKind reward to pay a portion of my lunch!

I'm giving it 2 stars because there wasn't much of a wait when we visited on a Sunday during the World Cup, and the drinks were actually pretty decent. Those were easily the highlights of the experience. The service, however, was lacking. Our server rarely checked on us, and it often felt like we had been forgotten. We ordered three appetizers, but only two ever made it to the table. The two that arrived were honestly disappointing and not something I would order again. The third appetizer never came out at all, and by the time we realized it had been forgotten, we were so over the experience that we decided to leave and find somewhere else to eat. It's disappointing because I really wanted to like it this time around. The location is great, the atmosphere is pleasant, and I was hoping my experience would be different after all these years. Sadly, the food and service still didn't live up to expectations. Maybe others have had better luck, but after giving Left Bank another shot years later, I'm still left feeling underwhelmed.
