Where to even begin. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Bar smells like a sewer pipe burst. The bar top is always sticky and never wiped down properly. There's always underage kids in the bar drinking, and the college kids especially disrupt everything and are a huge bother to the patrons who are just trying to have a drink without fights and screaming in their ears. Multiple times I have witnessed : Fights, Security guards not doing their jobs (when they're present at the facility) Cops outside all the time for underage kids, fights, or drinking. Another huge red flag and a reason as to why I would never come back to this place especially on a Thursday. The two young men who work behind the bar on that specific day are always drinking behind the bar. Not one but multiple drinks and or shots. I understand the love of animals and appreciate that this establishment is friendly with them. But having animals feet on the bar top is a little too much. Super unsanitary. If you're looking for fast and proper service that doesn't take 30 minutes or more for one drink or without the disruption of screaming college kids this is definitely not the place for you. I cannot stress enough, this bar from what i've witnessed is going to have a huge lawsuit coming their way if they keep letting in underage kids and don't train their security how to properly ID and tell their bartenders to stop drinking behind the bar. Especially the ones on Thursdays who drink more than some of the college kids there. Please just be aware before you go to this establishment. Many other good spots in the area like Thirty's next door, Normandy's and Woodhams lounge. read more

Kelsey the dog is a sweet, sweet pup. Nice pool table. Comfortable leather lounge area. Maybe too many college kids. Generally, this is a perfect local haunt. Hauntingly familiar. White winged dove says who who who. The people who run this bar and the people who work behind it are top notch. So are the people in the stools who rub elbows and talk shit. I've never been a regular at Broncos, but I've known this spot since about 1999, when it was known by another name. They take Apple Pay. Touch tunes. One pool table. Plenty of room for large groups. If you've never bothered to hang out at this joint, take my advice, and fix that problem. Go to broncos if you're looking for a good time. read more

Horrible experience! I stopped by this hole in the wall for 2 drinks and I was asked to leave. An obese, low functioning staff member accused me of being rude to drink server, which was not true. This bar is the best bar to come to if you'd like reasonable prices and great conversation. The bartenders here are all so friendly and it's in a convenient location..they don't have food here but you can order anything to come to the bar and eat there. Darts are free, pool is free on Wednesdays, and drink specials are pretty good. The DJs that come every so often play great music. College nights get pretty packed if you're looking for a place to go Tuesday and Thursday nights during school session. read more

If 7 Bamboo is worst place to sing karaoke in Santa Clara County, Da Silva's Broncos is easily second to worst. Wow. I feel so bad for the super cool KJ (Odir) who has to endure this place every weekend. It has a stiff, lifeless crowd of SCU kids who have no personality, opinions, or even souls. Now, I have plenty of pals that went to SCU. I have nothing against the university. But I think the "SCU sheep-les" all flock here on Thursday night. It's uncanny how so many of the same exact type of person can show up. Here is the typical person who shows up for Thursday night karaoke at Da Silva's Broncos: 1) SCU student (with daddy's money to spend). 2) If male: douche. 3) If female: vapid. 4) If a girl sings, she goes up with at least 8 other girls. She cannot sing alone as she has no sense of individualism. The 8-headed monster usually sings a song by TLC, Spice Girls, or Britney Spears. And it usually sounds like a pig is being castrated. 5) If a guy sings, he usually sings with 4 other guys. They alternate laughing and passing the microphone around. They think they look cool. Unfortunately, it looks a bunch of monkeys passing poop around and laughing. 6) If they are not singing, they do not care. They do not look over at the person singing, nor will they will give a courtesy clap when they are done. They are all too busy hugging each other and remarking how long it has been since they last saw each other (which was only a week ago at the same exact venue). 7) There can be 918 people inside the place, and there will only be 4 singers lined up. These kids have no guts to go up on their own. It's really sad and lame. 8) The SCU kids view the dancefloor as a lava pit. And if they do go on the dance floor, it is usually to just stand there and take up the space so no one else can dance. Really lame. 9) If a person is singing an entertaining song and one of the SCU kids wants to dance, you will notice they will start to dance a little only to realize no one else is doing it with them. They immediately stop. One time, a girl came over while I was singing and danced around me. Only to have her (douchy) guy friend pull her back off the lava pit. Super lame. 10) The typical patron here will be completely overdressed for a dive bar. Anyway, other than that, this place has a $20 credit card minimum. Fail. I have been here three times. Considering the location this place is pretty chill. I hear they are starting a new weekly event during the Summer with local artists playing house music and electronic. Finally, something decent going on in San Jose for the dancing and electronic music community. Staff pretty friendly and good looking bartenders! :) Isn't that all you want at a bar anyways? 3/23/09, Checked them out again at the request of a friend. OMG! WTF was the ownership thinking?! They installed a plexiglass stripper-tipper divider between the bartenders and patrons at the bar! LOL. I guess they were having problems distinguishing tips so now patrons drap their bills over the ledge... only thing missing was the brass stripper pole to make the image complete... Prices are still a dollar to three dollars more than other Santa Clara Bars ($9 for a long island iced tea in the afternoon with just the wells in it is a major ripoff... that would've been an appropriate price if it had been all-top-shelf) and they have two taps with PBR (?!) ... not sure if they're trying to be a college bar, a locals bar or a wannabe gogo bar. Only thing I liked this visit was the free wifi. Hopefully they'll remove that awful divider thingy @ the bar and start pricing drinks according to how our economy is doing instead of trying to hoover ever penny out of mom n dad's account from all the students who apparently go there at night. read more

I don't know where to start.. I get that it's 830pm and bars are always slow till 11pm. But this is ridiculous. Pours are way short, the glasses come with lipstick on them and when the jukebox isn't going, the bartender plays ABBA from her phone. It's not as seedy as other dive bars I've been too, but it's not-not seedy either. They mostly have a young attractive female staff and the older thirstier regulars seem to like that about Da Silvas Broncos. I've heard it gets pretty gross during the school year with the SCU crowds. The prices are about what you would expect at a place like this. read more

This is my favorite hole in the wall bar around. The customers are a very colorful array of characters ranging from punk rockers, rocker billys, local yokels to the out of town college students. They mesh well and have always been really friendly to me and anyone I go with. I'm told they pack the kids in on Thursdays, so steer clear. I like going on Fri. and Sat. when they have karaoke. Some really good singers and some really horrible singers, which makes it fun and funny rolled together. They have two pool tables; free air hockey; free Foosball; did I mention FREE air hockey, you don't even get that at Chuck E. Cheese. All the bartenders are really friendly and cute too, which is a huge step up from the toothless bartenders at the bar next door, GROSS, I watched the super bowl there last year and they had a huge FREE buffet. This place is hella cool! I highly recommend it for chill people. read more

...I like this place because it's quiet, it's accessible to folks who live in the old Santa Clara neighborhood, and because they do get the game on if patrons really want to hear it. I often see the neighborhood's "usual suspects" in attendance if I sit there long enough,. Under the new ownership the place is cleaned up a lot and much more presentable. I don't worry about inviting my friends to meet me there any more. I personally shun the place on Thursday nights while school is in session. Karaoke night there is more aptly titled "Drunk Children Shouting" night, but other nights it's generally okay. There used to be a crowd of Cowboy fans who'd show up on Sundays for the game, but sadly (for me) they seem to have dissipated. Probably good news for about 75% of other football fans though. I'm amused that they have two taps with Pabst Blue Ribbon. Underclassmen gravy I guess. They do sell a lot of it. read more

HORRIBLE PLACE My boyfriend, a few of our friends & I came here last night only to walk into a dark & creepy little bar full of older men who from the moment we walked in were giving us dirty looks. The energy in there was so off and WE WERE REFUSED!! Even tho it's a 21 and up bar AND WE SHOWED THEM OUR IDS IN WHICH EVERYONE WAS 21!!!! The lady who was checking our ids was not having it & was literally interrogating them asking things like "where are you really from" "well what's your middle names" just to ultimately not allow us to stay. She even shook her head when she seen us walk in, told one of the bartenders to look over at us too before she immediately stood up to go ID us and give us a hard time. By the looks of everyone who was in there it's clear they only regard a certain demographic. Don't come here unless you are a middle aged white man. TERRIBLE. After turning down an invitation to get dolled up and party at some posh club in San Francisco so that I could show up in my flip flops, old ripped jeans and hoodies and witness my co-workers release the tension by belting out AC/DC's All Night Long and Bon Jovi's Living On A Prayer, I have certain expectations of the Broncos. And sure enough, they didn't fail to represent. Surprised by the minimum amount of Yelp reviews, I have heard that the Broncos is a popular hangout place for the SCU students. They were nowhere to be found last night - spring break ??? - so we pretty much had the place to ourselves, save for a couple of regulars / American Idol hopefuls (I wouldn't be surprised if they've tried out for American Idol) who sure weren't shy about doing their sing and dance routine on the mini dance floor in front of us. Granted, the karaoke is probably the best feature of this dive bar. However, there are also other neat things about this bar that made me glad that I chose this over the posh club in the city (which will remain nameless for the purpose of this review). First - the dart board. I had my first ever dart game and my beginner's luck saved me from having an embarrassing dart-throwing performance. There were also two pool tables which I didn't have a chance of using. To top it off, parking is easy and Hefeweizen is cold and cheap. read more

i have had to finally stop-going to this place... i don't understand the changes the ownership has made through the years... drink prices change constantly, bartenders change constantly, entertainment changes constantly... nothing is consistent except wallet gets a bit lighter after every visit. if you order a cocktail with a premium liquor in it, you'll see lines marked on it as the ownership marks their bottles nightly... that's so laughable i could literally watch my drinking based on the lines on the one bottle i used to like... memo to dasilvas owners- WEIGH YOUR BOTTLES NIGHTLY INSTEAD OF MARKING THEM! that's how you properly measure your consumption... as soon as they get a really good bartender they fire them... this makes it impossible to have any consistency on any given day you try to patronize them... you also get a lot of trainee / jr bartenders and that kills the consistency. if you only drink beer i guess this would be-okay... but if you want a consistent cocktail, look elsewhere. their wifi does work well, so you could do homework on a LT here while spending m&d's investment in your scu education... but i strongly advise going elsewhere. read more

I'm only a fan of this place because there really is no other bar near SCU. The Hut doesn't count because it's depressing. this bar is awesome only on Thursday nights! I bring all my friends here coming from SF area. The only thing i suggest to everyone is to use cash only at this bar i used my debit card there for a 80 dollar round and they put a 100 dollar hold on peoples cards is you spend over 60 dollars for up too 3 days just to make sure the cards go through a lot of places are doing that now so beware! other then that its amazing Dj FUCKING AWESOME read more

Drinks are way too expensive for a dive bar, and possibly watered down. Also it's very depressing looking, old dated cinder block style in a strip mall next to another competing bar which is equally depressing. There are never any good looking patrons, mainly college kids playing beer pong or the regular local drunks. There are no drink specials either. I have been to much better classier dives. read more
