The cocktails are very good. If you are coming here to grab a well-made drink, it delivers. However, this is not the place for food or for watching sports. The food is solid, but overpriced for what you get. And while they have an enormous TV, the setup is not sports-friendly. The sports channel availability makes Five Points a poor choice if you want to watch the game. You're better off going to The Brit next door for a proper sports experience. My friend and I tried the Hogwarts drinks from our respective houses. I got a Slytherin Mint and Venom ($20) and he got a Ravenclaw Enigma Elixir ($22). Made an account just to give this place a 0 star review. Got sprayed in the eye and all over my shirt with some water standing at the bar with my family, didn't get acknowledged by anyone behind the bar until I grabbed a napkin myself and cleaned up. Then 5 mins later got handed a towel after the fact with no apology. Then later that night, I ordered a beer and asked for an extra shot and got yelled at by a short bartender with a beard and glasses, and poured me less of a shot, after I was tipping good all night. read more

I've been to this particular bar a handful of times on a Monday night and every time it's always the same great relaxing crowd at least two bartenders on hand and all the patrons seem very relaxed!! Bartenders are rather quick at making the drinks so there's not a long wait time and everything was very clean. I love how they have the jazz night set up where anybody can actually go and sing or play an instrument. The only odd thing I would say is that the water is on the inside of where the jazz players are improvising and playing their beautiful music. So you have to walk around the little entrance of the flat stage to get to the water. Maybe it's set up like that so the jazz players can get to the water easily, but as a member of the audience, I felt like I was walking into their bubble. Lol. I was here for a private event and had a nice experience. LOCATION This bar is conveniently located near San Pedro's square (SPS). You can park in the SPS parking lot which provides 90 minutes of parking for free and only $1 for each additional 15 minutes. It's a short 5 minutes walk from the parking lot to the bar. AMBIANCE I like the spaciousness and warm decorated vibes that this place gives. Noise level is reasonable. Their restrooms are also clean and tidy. SERVICES Our server was attentive and made me one of the best Amaretto Sour drinks. Overall, I enjoy this place. Never been to Five Points before BUT this year they gave Miniboss some completion with Halloween themed drinks and because they are IT themed, I had to make my first visit! My friend and I came in after 7pm on a Wednesday and were able to find a table no problem. It is a bit small though so I imagine it's get packed on weekends. They have a daily special, Wednesday is whisky Wednesday however I was there for the IT drinks. The decor for IT was cute, I feel like they could have down way more as it's mostly red light up everywhere to give it that red glow and "Missing" posters of the members of the losers club and Pennywise cutouts. The drink had was the "You'll float too" and the menu said it tastes like banana bread. It did not in fact taste like banana bread but it was tasty just the same, super strong though and a bit more banana flavor would have been 100% welcome. Five Points could be a Five Star Joint, but sadly, they fall just short. I've never eaten here, but before a game, I always manage to end up here for one last libation before the walk to the barn. This spot has so much going for it--rad backyard space, very clean bathrooms, good music and movies on, friendly and helpful service. My gripe is a real sticking point though--it just doesn't jive with me that they refer to themselves as "Downtown San Jose's Premier Cocktail Bar" when the specialty cocktails are batch made! I used to haunt this TINY cocktail bar in Corvallis, OR and not only did they make their own house infusions with local fruits, they made every last cocktail to order and would make any substitutions to the best of their abilities. My request wasn't even a hard to fulfill one--just to swap the vodka for gin--but it wasn't doable. And no shade to that bartender, but you can definitely taste the difference when you're a gin-drinker, despite his claim. Will it stop me from coming back? No way. Just might stick to basic drinks to get something more to my taste rather than the seasonal drinks. read more

Came in on a Saturday late afternoon. Was shocked that it wasn't that busy! The space itself is nice, but I will say it is quite dark in there! However, it did help the bar stand out and the bar is quite nice! The espresso martinis were delicious! The fish n chips were pretty good as well, but $23 for 2 pieces of fish is a bit pricey in my opinion. We had one server/bartender who was great and then had it switched over to another server, and they did not do as well.. we maybe only saw them once and didn't see them much more after that. We paid the $20 cover and got these cute NYE hats! I wanted to order the espresso martini here since my company hosted a holiday party here a few years ago and it was soooo good. However, upon ordering the Asian girl server started giving off negative vibes but I didn't really think anything of it. We got 2 paid drinks, but when we asked about the free champagne (which was the reason we paid the $20 cover), she suddenly gave us hella attitude. She asked why we were just standing there, even though we had asked for the champagne multiple times VERY NICELY. I was honestly shocked. I hadn't said anything rude and was literally just standing there waiting for the champagne. We even tried asking other bartenders since she was being so mean, but the male bartender told us to get it from her. ALSO I'm literally just a girl why are you being mean to me on NYE I honestly wanted to cry lol I hope management does something about her attitude because we were not being rude or pushy so I'm not sure why we were being yelled at as well!! So last night we went out as a family to celebrate a birthday with my adult kids. At the end of the night the bouncer/ security hit my son in the face giving him a black eye. They were pushing my wife around near the bathroom. Great night ends up like this with some stupid ass security officers hitting people. I went to San Jose for the weekend my cousin and I wanted a good drink . I like a good craft cocktail and this is definitely the place for that . They have an amazing craft cocktail menu to choose from. We came on a Friday night so they had a dj playing so it felt more of a dive bar / 1920 bar . The ambience was on point. They have a big outside patio out back but since it was cold everyone was inside that day. All the mixologist were super friendly and attentive. I got a gin drink with egg white so delicious called Green Ray I also ordered the Bees Knees which was not on the menu but she knew exactly what drink I was talking about. We've come to Five Points multiple times for Tequila Tuesday and 3$ tacos. It's a great deal on the tequilas, and we always have a good time here. The food is alright - we always return for the drinks. We haven't had to wait for a table or bar seating when we come in, and staff are attentive even when it gets busy. This joint gets labeled as "Old West" and "Saloon" with impressive regularity, but in actuality is more influenced by post-Victorian Britain, with its wood paneling, imitation gaslamps, library ladders, disused frescoes and stamped barrels. That said, the swill is decidedly post-Prohibition, with a lovely hand painted rotating menu of seasonal craft cocktails that most goers are too inebriated to consciously enjoy, which is a shame. Perhaps the best night to take in the atmosphere is Monday where some truly talented jazz trios and quads have cycled through of late. The vibe starts to cook around 9:30, and by 10, it's standing room, but still more civilized than weekend nights, when the whole establishment can seem a shoulder-to-shoulder buzzed bounce house with live music accompaniment. This isn't a criticism; I've ground against girlfriends and strangers on those nights with abandon. But Mondays offer a more clear-headed reflection of haze-free musicality, if that's what you're into. If you're around in Summer of '25, order the Violet drink; you'll be glad you did. read more

BAD SERVICE. I've never given a 1 star review, but because of the service here was so poor, I believe this rating is deserved. I came here for their New Year's Eve event which required a $20 cover fee and offered complimentary Champagne. We decided to order cocktails from an Asian Female Bartender and we got the drinks just fine. However when we asked for the free champagne, she started giving us an attitude and told us to get our own champagne. She also kept yelling at us for "just standing there" while we were waiting for the champagne. She did end us giving us the champagne but I did not appreciate how it was handled. I also saw her yell at another customer who just asked to order from her while she was making another drink for another customer. It could've been handled more differently. I understand that the bar was hectic because of NYE but that doesn't give her the reason to act like that, especially when there is a $20 cover fee. The drinks and ambiance is nice, and other staff were nice, but the service from the bartender ruined it for us. Also if you notice other 1star reviews, it also mentions a female bartender which I suspect MAY be the same one. Came on a Monday night for their Jazz nights + drinks! Overall, I thought the jazz music and ambiance was fun, but small, and I was not impressed by the drinks. We ordered the old green eyes, green ray, and paloma. The drinks themselves tasted fine and as described in terms of flavor profiles. However, we all felt that our drinks seemed to have little to no alcohol in them; we couldn't taste any alcohol and didn't feel it at all. Jazz night was cute and starts at 9pm Mondays. They have really cool cocktails and cool mocktails for non-alcohol drinkers.
