Oh my fancy. As someone born and raised in San Jose who now lives in Sac and has not visited downtown in a few years, my first thought was, "Where am I? Santana Row?!" I came for group dinner where were treated to the meal by a colleague, so needless to say -- I had the time of my life! When I saw the prices, my expectations were reasonably high (I had to keep asking to see if anyone else would dare to order the most expensive entree -- $79 10 oz NY strip). Everything I ordered (the steak, mussels, tiramisu, beignets) exceeded expectations! I also got to try appetizers that we shared: octopus, pita (with quality fish eggs in the hummus!), a raspberry cream cheese toast -- I know these foods have fancier names, I should have taken a pic of the menu, my bad. But everything was fantastic. Aesthetic, fresh, and a foodie dream experience. They also have palette cleansers!? We had a yummy tea after appetizers and a yuzu mochi bite before dessert. The one entree that did not exceed expectations was the chicken, which was a bit on the dry side. The drinks are also fantastic. I recommend the Pandan alcoholic beverage which was a hit with our group. We also ordered a bottle of red blend wine which was fantastic (though pricey, $92). The vibes were also immaculate with the early 2000s r&b. We were a group of Filipino Americans who felt right at home.

Came here w/friends....to grab dinner. At first I didn't think it was going to be all that, however just needed to be open to the experience. When I saw it was Mediterranean....I was feeling a little biased. I have to say though, I was pleasantly surprised. My friend said it was one of his favorite spots....so went with trusting his judgement. We ordered the caviar cones, the flatbread and oysters for appetizers and then everyone ordered their entrees...I don't eat meat so my thoughts were either the raviolis or the risotto and this time I went with the suggested raviolis. They didn't disappoint...everything was amazing! I will definitely put this on my list of places to go...it was great! The decor and staff were amazing too!

My 2 friends and I came on Sunday around 6:30 pm for dinner and sat in the patio area because my fur babies accompanied us. Would've loved to sit on the inside since it is such a beautiful interior with a chic-low-fi, lounge-y vibe. They brought a cool water bowl out for my pups. Firstly, service was seamless. Our server lady (Ady [sp?]) was amazing. So sweet and checked in with us regularly. She helped set the patio heaters on to our preferred settings any time we needed it adjusted-- so really appreciate that! For wine, I got a great orange-something grenache that had a little citrus zest to make any meal interesting. Secondly, we were so pleasantly surprised when Ady brought out some small dishes/samplers including an Amuse Bouche "Caviar cones". Flavor profile was a creamy rich "sour cream & onions" style with a crunch on initial bite- better to eat it whole, in one bite. She also brought out a "mexican agua fresca"-inspired drink that had mango, pineapple, apple and citrus twist. Was refreshing and not to sweet that it left any syrupy feeling in your throat. Perfect! And the last surprise we got for dessert were cute little round rice crispy treats that wrapped up our meal nicely. From the menu, we ordered the following: 1. crudo daily selection of seafood (tuna)/ curry/ chili/ shallots - we got tuna (very fresh) - a fun play on two contrasting flavors with the sauce. 2. octopus mole negro/ lime/ maiz/ marcona almonds/ coriander - octopus texture was done appropriately (not too chewy or too firm). - The spicy chili adds an exciting kick, but for my spice tolerance level, may have been a bit much - the peanuts add a smoky tinge to the flavor along to the --what I suspect is -- black ink sauce. 3. brussels chili honey/ bacon jam/ tomato/ pickled onion/ house spice - -crisp flakes of brussel sprouds wrapped in a warm flavor of onion and cherry tomatoes 4. n.y. strip 12 oz taro espuma/ black garlic/ bone marrow reduction - this was my fav in terms of taste and visual appeal. We ordered for it to be cooked medium rare. - I've never had a taro-flavored espuma before and what a nice light complement to the tender meat and black garlic sauce. - What was fun was adding dashes of lemon juice over the meat and watching it turn the light purple taro cream into a magenta color instantly. Yay for chemistry haha! We had a wonderful time here. Lovely atmosphere, quality food, and fun added tasting ventures/amuse bouches. Shout out to Ady!

This place is very nice! Service was great! My water cup was never emptied, servers ALWAYS refilled our cups without asking. Food was super delicious! I highly recommend the mussels! That was my favorite dish! So many good things on the menu that's its best to come with a group so you can try a bit of everything. I had the non alcoholic drink garden of Eden and it was quite refreshing. Tasted like a creamy lemonade. They change out your plate for the main course dishes and give you a juice for a palate cleanser. I love the beignet dessert! It was the best!

I have been here twice already and it's one of my favorite date night restaurants. We went here once for our anniversary and they gave us a cute card that was hand signed by all the workers which I thought was very thoughtful! They also added a little decoration to our dessert plate which is really cute. The lamb, amazing. I usually don't like lamb, but this dish single handedly changed my mind. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned very well, not at all gamey. The flat bread was also really good! Highly recommend this place! They also give you a complimentary little thing with caviar on it in the beginning of your dinner which was nice.

Eos & Nyx was such a unique dining experience and definitely one of the most memorable meals I've had in a long time. The service was truly 10/10 -- our waiter gave incredible recommendations, the pacing was perfect, and the overall hospitality was top notch from start to finish. The palate cleansers between courses made the whole meal feel extra thoughtful and elevated. We started with the caviar "mini ice cream cones" and they were adorable, delicious, and such a fun way to kick off the meal. I also ordered the Crimson & Clover cocktail and loved it. For appetizers, we ordered the hamachi crudo special, the meatballs, and the dip sampler -- and honestly, this was the highlight of the meal. Every dish had such unique and well-balanced flavors. Highly recommend all of the appetizers if you go. The entrees unfortunately didn't live up to the same standard. Two people in our group ordered the mushroom burger and all you could really taste was charred mushroom and arugula -- the meat itself barely had any flavor. I ordered the branzino, which tasted good at the time, but if I'm being honest, I did end up feeling like I got a touch of food poisoning later that night. The trout had really unique flavors and was well executed, and the filet had great flavor too, though it was definitely rich and heavy. We also shared the spring risotto, which was super fresh and flavorful, but also very rich and a huge portion. For dessert, we got the beignets and they were delicious. The ambiance was beautiful -- the perfect mix of coastal and Mediterranean vibes. Overall, I'd absolutely recommend Eos & Nyx as an amazing spot for cocktails and appetizers, especially if you're looking for a fun, elevated flavor experience.

This restaurant has to be one of the most elevated dining experiences in downtown San Jose. The ingredients are primarily farm-to-table or imported from Europe based on the chef's search for the finest quality ingredients possible. I was completely blown away by the service. The team moved seamlessly throughout the restaurant, all working together effortlessly -- wiping tables between dishes, making sure drinks were never empty, and offering thoughtful surprises along the way like an amuse-bouche and palate cleanser that made the entire experience feel truly special. The restaurant itself is stunning inside, and the atmosphere was perfect. We had such an intimate and fun date night here. One of my favorite touches was that the chef personally came to our table to introduce several of the dishes, explaining where the ingredients were sourced and how each dish was prepared. We ordered an insane amount of food and were impressed by every single dish. The short rib rigatoni, filet, Brussels sprouts, and patatas bravas were all incredible. We also tried the risotto of the day -- a pea risotto with strawberry balsamic -- which was unique and absolutely delicious.

Absolutely LOVE this place! They make me feel so happy special and the food is amazing best service every time ! So far Chris has made the best drinks by far he makes them with a lot of care. Terrance is a fast efficient attentive server. Ron is a very welcoming manager. I have only been here for dinner but I will try the weekend brunch next for sure!

Nice ambience. I made a reservation for 1pm and they gave us the brunch menu, but I was still able to order the caviar cones from the dinner menu since I saw them on Yelp. Everything was tasty and I especially loved the crab cakes. Service was great, they even gave chocolates and a signed birthday card which was such a nice touch. Will definitely be coming back to try dinner next time!

Had Keep Calm and Crab On, Stuffed French Toast, Chicken & Waffles, Pipikaula Ribs and Flatbread for appetizer. This is more than just eating; it's a dining experience. Keep Calm and Crab On is their version of Crab Benedict. Everything about this Benedict is special and unique. Instead of the traditional lemony hollandaise sauce, it had a brown butter hollandaise. The brown butter's nutty and slight sweetness complemented the crab flavor that you can still taste the crab instead of getting overpowered by the sauce. They use loose real crab meat; not the crab patty type so no fillers. Really good amount of minced crab meat that it's nicely proportioned with the biscuit. Instead of English muffin, they use a big scallion biscuit. The biscuit was toasty on the bottom and the rest was moist with little pockets of honey. The poached egg's yolk was a bit more cooked than the traditional jelly or runny yolk but it did not make this dish any less yummy. Crispy hashbrown on disk shaped. Every part was great. 5/5 stars. The best Crab Benedict I've had and I've had quite a few. The waffle in the Chicken and Waffle was very crispy but at the same time almost flaky. It was not the dense fluffy type but it was easy to eat. It's like a cross between a croissant and waffle. The syrup was lighter than the thick pancake syrup. The waffle is 5/5 stars. The Chicken part of this dish is basically like a Taiwanese popcorn chicken that you can get from a boba place. Bite sized dark meat chicken battered and fried. Served with Sriracha mayo type sauce and syrup. 3/4 stars. The Stuffed French Toast tasted like lemon meringue pie. Sweet lemony filling. The French Toast itself was fluffy but at the same time nicely soaked in custard. Slight cinnamon flavor. It came with a thick slice of bacon which is more like a slice of grilled pork belly that was buttery and umami. 4/5 stars. The Pipikaula Ribs plate had 3 slices of bone in short ribs, kimchee fried rice and two over medium eggs. The short ribs were grilled and looked like the sweet Korean BBQ short ribs but it's more savory with peppery flavor rather than sweet. Tender meat. The genorously portioned Kimchee rice was mostly spicy. 3.5/5 stars because the Kimchee was too spicy to fully enjoy the dish. The Flatbread appetizer had a good amount of mozzarella cheese melted on top soft fluffy flatbread with salty prosciutto slice in between. Topped with perfectly poached egg. Wish they offer fountain soda vs bottled ones. Each dish was eye so pleasing that couldn't wait to dig into it as soon as they landed on the table. Staff, Anna Lisa, was very pleasant and just made us felt comfortable; which was important because it's our first time dining here. Nice comfortable dining room with high ceiling and big windows. Great food with quality ingredients and thoughtfully put together menu, welcoming staff, relaxed ambiance. Will definitely return.

My friend and I decided to come here after hearing all the good things. We made a reservation for a Saturday night (surprisingly it was not as busy as we thought it would be). The vibes were great! A lot of super sweet girls sat near us, and the staff were friendly. We were greeted by our server (shout out to Cynthia!) and given our menus. We ordered drinks first : the crimson & clover and jean claude pandan. Both drinks were not as strong as we hoped it would be. We ended up ordering a white wine mid meal as well. For food, I asked for every dairy product on the side since I do not prefer to eat dairy. Staff was amazing! They separated everything. We started off with the complimentary caviar cones. Delicious start! Octopus was 10/10! The sauce was incredible and flavorful! The rigatoni was yummy. I really enjoyed the texture and flavor of the pasta. We ordered the filet mignon medium rare and it was cooked perfectly! 10/10. Brussels were also really good. They also gave complimentary palate cleanser juices and house-made shortbread cookies (which was a bit too sweet for us) Overall, this restaurant is definitely worth the try. It is a bit on the pricier side (our total was about 250 including tip) . Side note: we ordered for a table for 2. Least favorite was the drinks since it could've been a bit stronger. Favorite: octopus!! must order!!

First time at EOS & NYX in San Jose celebrated my grandpas birthday for brunch. We had a big party of 19. I loved the vibe of the place very modern. Great place to have a small birthday with loved ones and or friends. The customer service was great. The staff were very friendly and bubbly always checked we needed anything. Staff made sure we were taken of. The place was very modern I loved how there were some plants hanging and the bathrooms were very clean and had personal sinks in each stall. The food was good. I got the classic Filipino breakfast longanisa plate(grand slam) I also got the pineapple juice that was refreshing! My son got the chicken and waffle he enjoyed his plate. My son said the chicken reminded him of pop corn chicken which he loves. The only thing was the menu was a bit pricey but the food was good that's why I minus one star on the yelp rating My grandpa had slices of carrot cake in a plate that had a happy birthday sign grounded coffee or cinnamon I couldn't tell. Lol but the carrot cake was good no raisins that was a plus for me. Overall I would come back again.

Overall, a solid spot--especially for drinks. The cocktail menu feels intentional and well thought out. The Crimson & Clover and Jean Claude Pandan were light and refreshing, while the Eye of the Beholder was like a boozy melted ice cream--creamy, slightly sweet, and well balanced. Loved the olive oil and salt touch. Ambiance is beautiful--elevated but still comfortable. Amuse-bouche aka the cones with crème fraîche and caviar were a perfect start to kick off dinner. Scallops were good, but the buttery polenta was the real standout. The endive and arugula salad was well balanced, with green apple adding brightness. The tagliatelle was a highlight--perfectly cooked lobster, fresh pasta, and a creamy sauce that wasn't too heavy. The caviar added a nice salty finish. The filet was just okay--cooked correctly, but the flavor fell flat. Would come back for drinks and a few standout dishes.

Ask the Community - Eos & Nyx

Are there pasta options and anything without seafood?

Hello, we do have pasta dishes on our dinner menu. You can view our menu on our website at www.eosnyxsj.com

Do you have parking lot or street parking? Is it easy to find parking? Thank you

Hello, we do not have free parking, but there are paid parking lots at each end of our block, and the closest parking garage is SP+ Parking at 150 S. Second Street, San Jose, CA 95113.

Will you have a vegan option for brunch soon?

Currently for brunch we only have the Leafy Things salad which can be done completely vegan.

Hi! Where do you source your meat from? I'm trying to see if it's a halal vendor like Creekstone or typically any vendor from Australia?

At this time we do not offer halal certified options.

    Are dogs allowed during brunch?

    Yes on our patio!

    What is the corkage fee?

$35 for the first 2 bottles

Dairy allergy here. Is it possible to do the lambs or steak without butter?

Absolutely. Just let your server know & our culinary can accommodate with extra care

    Any private rooms to reserve?

I believe they can rent out the upstairs bar area for a pretty penny.

Is the bar area open seating or is a reservation required for the bar too?

Bar is first come first serve

Do they take reservations for brunch on weekends?

They do. The best way to find availability is to download the open table app and search the restaurant. You can make reservations there.

What kind of restaurant is this... food wise?

    Cal-Mediterranean

Is the dinner menu available to order during the day as well? Are there good vegetarian options? Thinking of going with a big group from work but we are looking for lunch, not breakfast foods.

Hi, I don't think they have weekday lunch service. Brunch is served on weekends only and you cannot order from the dinner menu.

Do they have private rooms for bigger parties?

They have an upstairs area which can be likely be used for private events.

    How to get reservations?

    They're on Open Table.

    Is it kid friendly?

One couple brought their toddler during dinner. I think it's fine as long as the kids are well behaved.

Is this reservation only or first come first served?

Although reservations are preferred, we were walk-ins.

    Are walk ins available?

Yes walk-ins are available, but reservations are recommended. Just be weary of what time you come. I'd advise to call ahead and ask if there is a current wait time.

Regarding seating, we somehow found a table in the back where our party of 18 guys could hangout, and it wasn't so loud we couldn't hear each other. I barely go out anymore, but in this area I now prefer this establishment since I could sip on a good non-alcoholic drink without worrying about someone accidentally running into me and spilling on me. There were also plenty glass water bottles going around to keep everyone hydrated.

The cocktails are good and very overpriced in my opinion. Nice bar, nice location, and good service. It's a great place to stop by if you are hopping at bars in San Jose or even catching a comedy show at Improv.

I totally understand how they made the top 100 in the SF Chronicle list, it's so well deserved!…read more I have only heard golden reviews of goodtime bar through peers and thought it was a great time to finally check it out! I came here with a friend on a weekday for dinner and it was not packed at all. The atmosphere was very minimalist and clean, with a cute disco ball in the corner. This establishment requires you to order at the bar (makes sense it's a bar), and then they did you a number for the table so they can deliver your food. Any drinks you order they will make it right then and there for you to bring over. In terms of food, here is everything we ordered and my thoughts! *Deviled eggs: You would think since it's deviled eggs, there wouldn't be anything too special about them but I appreciated the small pops of salmon roe that added a nice textural play with the creamy eggs! * Bluefin tostada: Absolutely delicious with fresh tuna, paired with mango, on a crispy wonton chip. What a rich treat. * Arancini: The twist of fusion flavors was great. I love how the Japanese curry added a nice mix of umami, paired with the sharp creamy kimchi sauce. Definitely a favorite! * Pork belly: Pull apart, juicy, and tender! These paired actually really well with the arancini for a good balance of rice and meat. * Red miso crème brûlée: interesting sweet and salty flavor combination between the red miso and Madagascar vanilla. Not too overpowering tho. A lovely meal was had here!

Love the decor/design and vibes (music/theme). Service was great! Helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The bartenders are really serving up crafted cocktails. We ordered the following: -Start Me Up, my partner loved this. He is an espresso drinker and love the flavor profile -Like A Virgin, this is on the sweeter side but the prosecco side car really balances it out -So Fresh, So Clean: normally comes with tequila but I swapped for vodka and it was very refreshing -Davis In My Bones, partner loved this This place turns into a club at 9:30, so there are plenty of options depending on your mood! No big deal, as I wanted the bar anyway, but something others should keep in mind. The cocktail list is plentiful and intriguing. I tend to avoid tequila, so that eliminated a good chunk of the options. I went with Rose Colored Lenses, which was fantastic, and decently sized. Presentation was beautiful. My friend had All a Dream, also very good. The wine offerings are minimal, this is very much a cocktail or champagne type of place, with caviar being the primary food service. Speaking of service, the bartender was excellent, both in his mixology and demeanor. It took awhile to get the drinks, but I assume that was due to the complexity of the cocktails, paired with having just opened the doors a few min earlier. Two notes: 1. The barstools were a little too low, imo. I don't normally pay much attention to that detail, but these were uncomfortably low for me, even with my long torso, I was hyper aware of my posture. So maybe that's actually a good thing 2. Other patrons were rolling in shortly behind me, so there is probably an early crowd when they first open, then a late night group that appreciates the 2am closing time. Interior is beautiful, and you can use the steps up to the 2nd floor either from N Santa Cruz or the rear parking lot off W Main. More substantial food options are a mere few steps across the hall at Heritage.
