Here is my PSA. Come here for the gnocchi. Even fact, order two of them. You'll thank me later. Oh, the service, vibe, and overall dining experience was wonderful too.

Mangia bene! That's Italian for "eat well" and that's exactly what you'll do when you come here. This simple, little restaurant is actually rich & bold in authentic Italian flavors, and big in terms of heart & spirit. And although it looks adorably tiny from the outside, it's actually quite spacious inside with 2 different dining rooms and a full bar (plus outside tables too). Our server Ernesto was fantastic! Our table of 6 (including my Italian in-laws) appreciated his excellent customer service and kindness. He went above & beyond, and we all got to practice our Italian as well since he himself is from Napoli (Naples). Grazie mille Ernesto! Also, the man can SING! We heard him sing Happy Birthday to a couple of other tables when we were there, and then he serenaded our table with a beautiful rendition of 'O Sole Mio. My Spaghetti al Pomodoro was perfection, my husband's Trofie al Pesto was to die for, father-in-law loved his Lobster Ravioli, and there were 3 orders of their Cacio e Pepe for the rest of the table. Throw in the Brussels Sprouts and Bruschetta for apps, and Tiramisu and Cannoli for dessert shared around the table. Everything was absolutely delicious, and authentic. I must mention that the cocktails were also flowing at our table (Negronis anyone?), so...yeah, bring your appetite and be transported to Italy from little Downtown Campbell!

Some of the food was delicious and some was OK. The service was excellent and the restaurant is so cute! It's decorated for Christmas right now. Although it still looks really nice without the extra decor. There is a small lot behind the restaurant and a good amount of street parking. There were bugs in our drink and flying around which was disappointing. When leaving we noticed the back door was open which could be the reason. We ordered: - Bruschetta: bread was too thick (like 2") for my taste but had good flavor. - Beet Salad: good portion and tasted good. - Gnocchi: delicious! Good portion and great flavor. It's a red creamy and cheesy sauce. So good. - Linguine Del Golfo: Ok. The pasta was good but was not a fan of the sauce. I would have appreciated a more creamy sauce but that's my preference. - Panna Cotta: this was OK. The sauce was better than the panna cotta. - Soufflé: this was only OK as well. I didn't taste a crust and the chocolate was not very tasty. The gelato was good.

Don't Leave or I'll Tira-miss-u One of seven "Locanda"** restaurants located throughout the Bay Area that are all locally-owned by Naples-born chef and restaurateur Enzo Rosano. Along with his brothers, they've started quite the legacy of restaurants serving up home-cooked Italian food in an upscale environment. This location is just on the outskirts of Downtown Campbell is a great place for date nights, anniversaries, or birthdays. We came to celebrate the latter, as it was a belated birthday for my sister. The Good: *Fantastic service by Carlo. He knows how to wait on a party. 10/10 *Décor and ambiance were perfect. I did see some sorta strange lighting in some Yelp photos, but maybe that's later, as we eat early. Cuz, you know, we're old and shit. *Full bar and beer on-tap *Pizza was on-point and had great flavor. I did have only one slice, but it was pretty darn good. *Probably the best Eggplant Parmigiana I've *ever* had. I liked that the eggplants weren't battered and fried so the dish as a whole felt more fresh and light, as opposed to how Eggplant Parm usually makes you feel heavy and bad. *Housemade Limoncello was outstanding. Ask for a sample. *Tiramisu was tasty but could've used a bit more coffee flavor if I had a minor gripe. *Panna Cotta was fantastic. Just perfectly soft and custardy with a nice vanilla base. The Meh: *Small private lot and some street parking--but read the signs! *The special Artichoke app was just whatever. I'm not a fan of peeling the leaves, dipping, and scraping. I mean it's OK, but a bit undignified in public. The Ugly: *My drink was very weak and didn't feel particularly balanced. If I'm paying $15 for a drink, I want a buzz dammit! #borracho Conclusion: Fantastic authentic Italian cuisine with terrific service and an amazing ambiance. Highly recommended. **All the restaurants have different names but all have "Locanda" at the beginning.

I booked a reservation here for my 13th anniversary with my husband after hearing so many great things from friends. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the hype. We were greeted warmly at the front desk and led to our table in the back. Our server, Ernesto, promptly greeted himself and asked if we wanted "sparkling or still water." Knowing the usual upsell, we requested still. He followed-up with, "tap or bottle," which was another attempt to upsell. We ordered drinks, including an Espresso Martini ($16) that was tasty but nothing special. Soon after, we placed our dinner order. Fritto Misto ($18.95) - 7/10 ~6 calamari rings, 2 calamari tentacles and 2 tiger prawns. Bland overall. The Chef Capri Sauce was the highlight! Linguine Del Golfo ($26.95) - 8/10 Pasta had great texture and it was loaded with shrimp and clams. Personally, I could have used more sauce but the intentional flavors of the ocean came through. Cacio e Pepe ($26.95) - 2/10 This was the BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT! The tableside prep is meant to be the star but the server wheeled the cart up without a word and prepared the pasta one table away. I barely noticed until he dropped the plate in front of me. The portion was small, presentation was sloppy and flavor was way below average. Both the couple next to us and another table across shared the same complaints. We all made the effort to talk about it with each other. Presentation and portion size for each table was inconsistent. This was meant more for the tableside presentation and a nice video to share on social but we didn't get that either. The dish felt like a gimmick and we all agreed we'd never order it again or recommend it to friends. Midway through dinner, Ernesto noticed I had pasta sauce left and offered bread to soak it up. I said yes without thinking...only to see $4.95 added to the bill. That should have been communicated upfront. Service overall was inconsistent. Other tables were walked through the specials and menu but we never got that. Our water glasses were often empty and when I asked for a bottle for the table, Ernesto said they don't do that. Yet every table around us had one. I'm very unsure why my experience stood out so much compared to others. The final bill came to $105.90 before tip. Which also includes a 3% "Employee Health & Benefit Surcharge." One last note, the bathroom was a mess. At 6 PM on a Saturday, there were no paper towels, no toilet paper, and clogged toilets. For a restaurant with this reputation, that was a bit shocking. I informed staff early in into dinner service and it was still the same an hour later when I left. Would I come back? Probably not.

Locanda Sorrento is a nice Italian Restaurant located on Campbell Avenue. They have a small parking lot in back or otherwise there is street parking. My family enjoyed our dining experience here. Nicely decorated with modern decor that highlights touches of Italy. You have to look up at the ceiling to really appreciate it! The restaurant offers inside and outside seating along with at the bar. Two separate, single user men and women restrooms. Light house music playing. We ordered mostly off their HH menu. *Gnocchetti Tartufo V: Homemade baked potato gnocchi with cream, truffle, & Parmesan cheese (4/5). The gnocchi was soft and delicately held onto the rich decadent cheesy sauce. *Fritto Misto: Monterey calamari, tiger prawns, julienne zucchini, & chef capri sauce (4/5). A light fry that gave this dish a nice crunch yet wasn't too overly breaded. *Truffle Fries: French fries with truffle oil, Parmesan, salt & pepper (3/5). This was just ok. We didn't taste any truffle oil. *Bruschetta Trio: three of their signature bruschetta recipes (4/5). A nice sampling and each were delicious! *Crocchette (4/5) - a trio of smooth and creamy potatoes breaded served with marinara. *Almond Pina Colada: barcardi rum, pineapple juice, amaretto, lime juice, almond syrup (3.5/5). The drink was good though, I don't think it had any amaretto or almond syrup in it. It was just a plain Pina colada. *Spritz Trio: Lemoncello Spritz, Aperol Spritz, and Campari Spritzs. The lemoncello was the table favorite. The Campari was a bit bitter but it is supposed to aid in digestion. *Cacio e Pepe V: Homemade tagliolini, black pepper, & parmigiano-reggiano served table side (4/5). Nicely prepared and we were able to watch them serve the dish with the grated parmigiano-reggiano. The service was so friendly and nice. Other than the little misses on the food and drinks. It was a great dining experience. Come support this local business.

Had a pretty nice dinner on Wed night. I made a reservation for 7pm but accidentally went to the Willow Glen location so was late for the reservation. I called and they told us no problem and take ur time, but our table was not available when we arrived so we decided to sit at the bar. I feel like the service at the bar isnt the same as sitting at a table as the bartenders r ur waiters and it took awhile as i felt i needed to initiate to give my order which is fine. But i would def opt for table reservation if u come. The interior is beautiful and the volume is very loud at this place, so difficult to hear if ur coming here for a date. We ordered the mango salad as appetizer then the Branzino and Capio de Pepe. The mango salad was very tart and citriusy, i thought it was fine. The branzino was pretty yummy but it doesnt come with the crispy skin if u like that (my bf does). The veggies seemed a bit undercooked (carrots and broccoilini) but it was nice to have veggies but they just didnt taste great but maybe bc they r more raw and healthy? The highlight for me was the Cacio e Pepe. They give very ample cheese which i didnt experience at other restaurants and it was addicting i kept eating it even tho i was full. It is full of pepper tho so my stomach did feel the heat even the next day. Very good tho. Overall i enjoyed my dinner and it was very affordable compared to other places for the quality, just $90 for our whole meal not including gratuity. Would recommend for some good pasta and lively ambiance for some good Italian!

We had a reservation for 8 pm on friday, were there little earlier have to wait for 30 minutes after our reservation time, we were there for celebrating our boys birthdays. We had also had conveyed our celebratory visit at the reception and that was ignored completely and great disappointment .. there were several birthday singing at other tables, but were ignored. They started of complementary Foccacia with fresh green side tasted like garlic and parsley but seasoning was missing completely. Bread itself was good. I will review from best to worst. Pizza Parmiziana soft pizza with mozzarella cheese, basil and great tasting tomatoes. Punch flavors and the freshness of dish was very evident in every bite. GNOCCHI Sorrentina was good but nothing out of ordinary. Crocche which was not part of the menu, it was good but pricey for appetizer. Spaghetti alla nerano earthly but too al dente for me, to much bite, could have cooked for some more time. Cacio E Pepe this dish is all about the show, they bring a chesse wheel and smither it with cheese in front of us by placing the pasta in the cheese wheel see the video of the display. Cheesey! Like the previous one it needs few more minutes of cooking. Dishes were average with bad service, need I say more. But the place was packed, Friday? Downtown location? Or service differs depending on the customer?

I have been to this one and their one in Willow Glen. Each time service is genuine and inviting, they make you feel like family. The food is beautiful, authentic, and delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting with greenery and lemon / yellow accents that feel as if you are in an Italian countryside. I don't eat a ton of Italian food, but when I do, it's at Locandas!

Overall excellent experience. We had eaten here when they first opened. I mistakenly thought the person that took our order was the owner and he was very communicative to the point he took away from the experience. Well not the case, the owner is a nice lady that is also very Italian. The food is excellent. Having spent the winter holidays in Rome and Venice the quality of food here and preparation is equally good. Had the chicken parm and it was great. Lots of tastes with flavor. The fish was delicious. Perfectly made with freshness in every bite. Veggies were also well made. Had the seafood spaghetti and again excellent. It was a birthday and the brought out the Pena Cora with Carmel. Very good. I will be back soon.

This is the 5th Locanda location that I've visited. We were welcomed with their usual lovely Italian charm where they make you feel like family. Love all the lemon-themed decorations unique to all Locanda restaurants. The menu at every location is slightly different. They have similar dishes so we opted to try what this branch specializes in. To drink we tried their Almond Pina Colada, 1137, Spring Tequila Sour and a Coronado beer. For appetizer, we ordered: Frito Misto - a family favorite we always order Insalata Fresca - delicate and lovely with sweet tasting peaches Artichoke Hearts - tasty. The dip had kick but I didn't like the inedible spiky parts. For dinner, we ordered: Cacio e Pepe - Made to order at your table!! That was fun to watch. Trofie Al Pesto Lasagna Della Mamma Lobster Linguini San Daniele Pizza - beautiful and fresh ingredients. The best! The pastas were all cooked al dente. Great flavor but also very rich. Everything was cheesy with lots of sauce. For dessert, we had an opera singer sing "Happy Birthday" and delivered a Caramel Panna Cotta for her. What a unique experience! We also ordered the tiramisu and the chocolate soufflé. All desserts were very good. We ended our dinner with complementary limoncello shots - another way Locanda has taken care of us. We had a lovely experience. I felt like family.

It's my first time dining in Downtown Campbell because it is about an hour away from me, but I'm so glad I went. Locanda is very popular, so I gave it a try. I sipped on "The Wrong Way" cocktail, it was a bit strong but I'm in my early 20s still adjusting to the flavors I still loved it, I never knew Vermouth and Prosecco would make a nice pairing. Also ordered the bread basket expecting regular bread and butter, but this was much better. Twisted crackers, fresh Focaccia and a basil dip, ate it all! I ordered the Gnocchi but with Pesto, and my friend ordered a seafood pasta. He absolutely loved it, finished it in 5 minutes. I took my time with my gnocchi to enjoy the cheesy sauce and fresh pasta. I loved the gnocchi, 7/10 compared to other ones I've tried. The restaurant itself is so gorgeous, I would have came later in the evening to enjoy the ambiance with dark lighting and more people.

I have patronized this restaurant many times, both as a dine-in guest and take out. This is my first negative experience I had with their food. The service during pick up was great as always. This review is strictly concerning their food. I ordered the fettuccine alfredo pollo to go. I don't think the chicken was cooked thoroughly. It didn't taste fully cooked when I tried the first piece but I wrote it off to it being chunks of thigh instead of grilled breast like I'm used to when I order chicken alfredo from other restaurants. It was the only thing I ate today. Without going into detail, I have been experiencing really bad symptoms of food poisoning. With that said, I will still be dining here but I will stick to their fritto misto, cacio e pepe and panna cotta.

Is the Cacio e Pepe available and prepared tableside at LUNCH on Sundays and how much is it? I'm planning a birthday lunch celebration for a group of 6 and want to know if this can be an option based on if it's available and price. Thanks in advance!

I think it's available at both lunch and dinner, but for a large party, I recommend calling in advance to ask them.

    Are kids allowed?

Yes, and they have a kids' menu. You can view it on their website.

Can diners split plates? If so, what is the charge for splitting?

Not sure, but they will give you extra plates so you can share! No charge.

    Can you make reservations?

    yes. Open table

    Do you have takeout?

    Yes!

Do you guys have gluten free options?

Yes they do. Great restaurant! You will not be disappointed.

Does this place have a good happy hour?

No big deal, as I wanted the bar anyway, but something others should keep in mind. The cocktail list is plentiful and intriguing. I tend to avoid tequila, so that eliminated a good chunk of the options. I went with Rose Colored Lenses, which was fantastic, and decently sized. Presentation was beautiful. My friend had All a Dream, also very good. The wine offerings are minimal, this is very much a cocktail or champagne type of place, with caviar being the primary food service. Speaking of service, the bartender was excellent, both in his mixology and demeanor. It took awhile to get the drinks, but I assume that was due to the complexity of the cocktails, paired with having just opened the doors a few min earlier. Two notes: 1. The barstools were a little too low, imo. I don't normally pay much attention to that detail, but these were uncomfortably low for me, even with my long torso, I was hyper aware of my posture. So maybe that's actually a good thing 2. Other patrons were rolling in shortly behind me, so there is probably an early crowd when they first open, then a late night group that appreciates the 2am closing time. Interior is beautiful, and you can use the steps up to the 2nd floor either from N Santa Cruz or the rear parking lot off W Main. More substantial food options are a mere few steps across the hall at Heritage.

While it did help with the steamy temps inside, wow did it ruin the night for those who sit close to the door! It was very cold and windy so maybe leaving it too open was an uninformed choice. The crab was very fresh and each crostini had a large portion of crab on top. The Brussels sprouts were very crispy and very umami with the cheese and bacon combination mixed in. The empanada was honestly a showstopper. I don't know how to describe it other than you have to try it. Both pastas were good but I prefer the mushroom one over the short rib ragu. The halibut was also good, and the basil sauce made it even better. I was already super impressed with everything but I think the stars were the 2 desserts. The Dubai cheesecake was an Italian style cheesecake, so it was a lot lighter than I was expecting (which was welcomed) and captured the essence of Dubai chocolate without being too overwhelming. The Lira in Wonderland was also SO good. It had a crown of cotton candy and was a mix of biscoff cookies, dehydrated red velvet cake (don't knock it till you try it), butterscotch sauce, and strawberries. I was honestly blown away by this meal.

This was supposed to be a special birthday dinner date that my husband meticulously planned for me,…read morebut it turned into the most horrendous dining experience I've ever had. We dined at Lira on November 14th. The Service (or Lack Thereof): The Menu Shortage: We arrived for our 6:45 PM reservation only to be told by the manager that they didn't have enough menus. We were told they'd bring them "later." Ignored for 35+ Minutes: We sat with nothing but water for over half an hour. To make matters worse, a table of six was seated after us and received their full entrees while we were completely ignored. The Drink Mess: After 40 minutes, the server told me they were out of ingredients for my drink. When I picked a second option, she tried to insist I wanted a drink with celery (my most despised vegetable). We thankfully stopped her before it was made, but the incompetence was staggering. The Food Fiasco: An hour into our reservation, someone dropped off a scallop dish. A while later, a server asked if I'd "received the scallops yet," and I realized the plate I was eating wasn't even intended for our table. We were so starving that my husband and I just shared them. Once we finished, the server finally asked my husband if he "still wanted his meal or if he wanted to cancel it." I finally lost my cool - of course he still wanted his dinner! The Aftermath: My husband didn't realize that my friends had actually made a separate reservation to take me back to this same spot the following night for a second birthday celebration. After this performance, there was no way I was going to step foot in this building again or give them another cent of our money. I texted my friends from the table to cancel those reservations and book elsewhere. With service this disorganized and insulting, this restaurant won't be in business long. Super disappointing. Don't waste your special occasions here. *Edit - it looks like Lira has closed. With the service we experienced, I am not surprised in the slightest. I am hopeful that whichever future business occupies this space is more successful.

The cocktail menu is inspired by records, and you can feel the creativity in every sip. These aren't your standard bar pours -- they're clearly thought out and crafted with personality. If you're someone who appreciates a drink with a story behind it, you'll be in your element here. The live DJ on weekends takes the whole experience to another level. The music isn't background noise -- it's part of the atmosphere, and it hits right. What makes this place truly special is that you're getting two completely different vibes under one roof. Walk into Still OG up front and you get a casual, laid-back energy -- easy conversation, good company, no pretension. Then slip into the speakeasy in the back and the whole mood shifts. Alter Ego is a proper intimate lounge with their full bar, and it feels like a world away from the street outside. The transition between the two spaces is surprisingly seamless and genuinely fun to experience. And they're open late, which puts them in a rare category of places actually worth staying out for. Whether you're there for a chill night out or a proper evening, this place delivers both without making you choose.

The fries came out crispy and hot. The housemade mayo was creamy and rich, and honestly elevated the whole dish. They also serve hot honey wings, four wings for $5 during happy hour. The honey glaze is perfect. The crisp on the skin is on point, though the honey wasn't spicy. We ordered the cajun wings as well but next time I'd opt for just the hot honey.

Unfortunately the staff is not friendly. Now given I was there on a Friday during HH and before a popular movie, I can understand being busy but I truly felt like a bother. After ordering two drinks I also order two appetizers to which the bartender rolled her eyes at. Other than the less than decent service, one of the drinks we ordered had boba in it but served with small paper straw that the boba couldn't go through. Maybe I'm being petty about this one but the drinks also just didn't hit? They seemed pre-batched and lacked good flavor. We ordered wings and nachos. Wings had a weird texture and the nachos were mid. Two happy hour appetizers and two drinks were $65. While it's very convenient, there's so many other options in the Pruneyard, don't waste your time here.

Once seated, it took the waitress a good 10 minutes to come over to our table. When she finallty did, she was going to leave without asking if we wanted to order drinks, we had to call her back. The food took a while also. Not once did she come back to check on us to see if we wanted another drink while we were waiting. She was nice enough, and maybe this is her first wait job, I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. However, we noticed quite a few of the staff were just standing around. Hats off to the person who does their Instagram - they make the place look huge, but it's not. Everyone at the table said their dish was very tasty. You HAVE to try the ftench toast a try. Some of their food has a Filipino twist. My favorite is the egg Benedict and duck config. The bread in egg Benedict is crusty outside, fluffy and buttery inside. They have the cute happy birthday cards and a hook on the table side to hang the to go bag. Overall, very good experience, will come back to try the dinner menu.
