Chicken, brisket, asada tacos
KC P.

We visited on Saturday for the Cinco de Mayo $2 taco special. Our order included chicken al pastor, brisket, carne asada, and horchata. Overall, the flavors were excellent, with the brisket being a particular standout. While the chicken al pastor was somewhat salty and the carne asada was a bit under-seasoned, the horchata was perfectly balanced, not overly sweet or powdery. We also enjoyed the Jamaica drink, which we believe is hibiscus, as it was refreshing and not excessively sweet. The cashier provided exceptional service, kindly reprinting our receipt when we returned to purchase a churro, which, to our pleasant surprise, was complimentary with a receipt. We can't wait to come back and try more stuff on the menu.

Not sure if it's because we came on a Tuesday or what but the place was pretty empty and service was so off...they kept bringing us the wrong order (even though we had our number at our table). And they walked our tacos all the way outside and back inside before we had to go over like hey those are ours and it was the same girl who took our order. The $2 taco Tuesday is a great deal! Next time I would ask for no pineapple (personal opinion) it just over powered the chicken.

Strawberry dragon fruit agua fresca

Seriously so good! I got the 3 taco plate with pollo a pastor and the brisket barbacoa. I love regular al pastor but try to not eat any pork and I love this pollo a pastor even better! I also tried their strawberry dragon fruit agua Fresca which was so refreshing. Not too sweet but packed with flavor. I ordered online for pickup and my order was ready when I got there. Restaurant was clean from what I saw. I'll definitely come back!

Barbacoa taco!

Head chef personally introduced himself to every single person visiting his booth and made sure to explain their process of preparing their tacos. Appreciated that they had vegetarian options but truly loved the "8 hour slow cooked" barbacoa! They had a line at their booth the entire night! So much fun to learn from them! You can really tell how much love they put into their food and the love they have to share their food! Loved the vibe, energy, and enthusiasm throughout the night!

Crispy asada taco

The tacos are amazing! Best in Willow Glen. I ordered a crispy asada, soft asada, and mahi mahi taco and they were scrumptious. My favorite was the soft asada. I love the way they season the meat, and I love the generous amount of onions on the tacos. The sauce on the mahi mahi was too spicy for me, but the taco tasted good after I removed it. Next time I'll order it plain. I also ordered a side of chips and pico. The pico was SO good. Again, lots of onions. Unfortunately, the container was tiny and there was only enough for a few chips. I should have ordered three of them. The chips were good, too. If you've been thinking of trying El Halal Amigos, I encourage you to give it a try. Best tacos I've had in ages.

Nar-chos w/ Pollo al pastor ($18)

I've loved El Halal Amigos since the first time I dined at their brick and mortar restaurant. Originally, I thought their food during their food truck days was just okay. But they seriously have improved tremendously! Everything is deliciois; from freshly made quesabirria sundays (I watched it being made outside), to their famous loaded narchos, and so much more. And the chile relleno burrito is something I've never had but I'd highly recommend it! It was so flavorful, meaty, melty, and filling. The Nar-chos are a must-get every time, and I love their taco plate as well. Never had a dish here I didn't enjoy! The only thing I think could improve would be their agua frescas. While the prices are on the higher end for Mexican food, the portions are huge! Service is attentive and extremely friendly even when busy. Love sitting outside and enjoying the surroundings.

Visited here on a Friday night for dinner and was not disappointed! Food came out really quickly and was absolutely delicious! My friend and I split the nachos with Carne Asada and then I got a burrito bowl with Carne Asada. The portions were very generous, I could barely make a dent in my burrito bowl so I was able to take it home and have it for lunch the next day. Their salsa is really good, too! The person at the front who took our order was very kind. The restaurant wasn't too loud, though we did sit outside because it was a nice day. Only complaint is that for a quick service restaurant, the prices did seem a little bit high, but I would still come back.

The burrito chile relleno was excellent and I love that you can select black beans. Ordered through Door Dash.

We visited here after a paint session at petroglyph, which is right down the street. It was the closest Mexican restaurant, though you do have quite a few options in this area. They have good tacos, but they aretiny for the price at five dollars each. The meat was well cooked, though it was a little bit oily. After trying homemade corn tortillas, everything else pails in comparison, so I wasn't super impressed with the tortillas used here. However, the service was absolutely phenomenal. Everyone was smiling, and they even brought us chips while we waited for our food. You order at the counter and sit at a table to eat, and there is ample seating space outside that allows for more intimate conversation because there is no music blasting. This restaurant is on Lincoln Avenue in Willow Glen, which is a really nice place to walk around. it's very clean and festively lit.

We just had a Taco Tuesday catered by El Halal Amigos and it was a hit! In fact too much of a hit, we didn't order enough! My favourite was the Barbacoa which was moist but not oily and their horchata was A+ They were fast and friendly and so helpful with all of our needs and requests in setting this up. My recommendation is to order way more than you think you need because it's so goo people will go back for seconds... and thirds... and forths...

A tiny side of guacamole

3.5 stars When we first dined in, we had regular tacos and birra tacos. We thought it was good. Months later, we ordered takeout. I got a super burrito with Brisket Barbacoa, wife had Carne Asada tacos and my son had Pollo Al Pastor quesadilla. We thought the chicken was too salty and tacos were mediocre. But my burrito was good, good ratio of fillings and decent amount of beef. I sorta wish the tortilla was grilled more. The prices seem higher now (I guess it's understandable) but the size for the side of guacamole was offensive lol. $3 for a big table spoon of guac (same condiment container as salsa). It makes Chipotle look super generous and cheap, and they give you chips! Hahaha, ugh.

Moveable Feast is awesome for those who have never really experienced a food truck night. What I…read morelove about it is that you don't have to chase down local food trucks by checking out their Twitter or Facebook updates to know where they'll be parked. And on top of that you get to experience a whole bunch of awesome Bay Area food trucks all in one spot. Moveable Feast on Friday nights in Willow Glen is a great foodie date night for sure. The bf and I have been here twice now (first time was still during my jaw surgery recovery phase where I was unable to chew, so it wasn't as exciting for me then). This last time we went we noticed that the most popular trucks were Sam's Chowdermobile, Grilled Cheese Bandits and Hill Country BBQ. The lines for those 3 were endless. But we did get to try come mashed tater balls and a delicious italian style grilled cheese sammich from Grilled Cheese Bandits about an hour before Moveable Feast was closing. And the bf got the very last link dog over at Hill Country BBQ, which he said was better than the Miso Dog he had over at Oh Miso Hungry truck. Let me list out what we had at the few trucks we chose to order from. Oh Miso Hungry Kimchi grilled cheese was actually not as good as it sounds. The kimchi was definitely delicious but it didn't taste right being super warm in between those pieces of Texas toast. And the Miso Dog the bf had, he liked but didn't love. MoGo BBQ Kalbi and bulgogi tacos. I liked the meat, tasted good. Not a fan of the corn tortillas they used. Barefoot Coffee The bf ordered a small coffee on drip to swing over to Treatbot Ice Cream since the guy over there told us the ice cream tastes bomb with that coffee. I had a sip of that coffee, holy shizz it was strong! Treatbot We had a scoop of horchata and a scoop of chocolate ice cream to go into the coffee. This is the second time I've had their horchata ice cream and I'm a HUGE fan for sure. Hill Country BBQ They ran out of most of their food about an hour before closing time. I liked the sauces they had out and pretty curious about the Porkolicious sauce. Looked interested! Next time, I'll be sure to try some of that pulled pork that was oh-so-popular. Grilled Cheese Bandit We ordered the small order of mashed tater balls which were okay but a bit too salty for us. Their Giuliano sandwich sure was bomb though! It came with mozzarella, parmesan and tomatoes with pesto on this amazingly soft Italian batard bread. Hands down, best thing I ate that night. I'm still very curious about what Sam's Chowdermobile has to offer but that damn line never let up! It was also extremely chilly that night, what the F happened to summer weather San Jose? But yeah, next time we'll definitely have to just stick it out and stand in line for some chowder. I would rate Moveable Feast 5 stars if they included better dessert trucks than just Fairycakes (cupcakes, which I'm not a fan of) and ice cream and candy. I want some PIES or something a bit more dense for dessert peeps!

These trucks are pretty much the same ones we see at the Willow Glen Moveable Feast on Fridays, but the best part tonight was that there were very few people there. Maybe it's because I was a little early and it wasn't the dinner rush yet. Or maybe not many people know about it just yet since this the first dinner launch at this site. Either way, I loved it! No lines! I ordered Kamikazi tots from Road Dogs and I loved the sauce and toppings covering the crispy tater tots. There were shredded seaweed, bacon bits, sauteed onions, a sprinkle of sesame seeds, and crisscross drizzles of Japanese mayo, Sriracha, and teriyaki sauce. The different flavors made the tater tots stand out and taste amazing. A little pricy since it was $6 for a small tray, but still yummy. My cousin ordered a salted caramel cupcake from Fairycakes. I had a few bites and I thought that was delicious too. The cake part was moist and the perfect level of sweetness. The frosting was vanilla-y, definitely sweeter than the cake, and has a drizzle of caramel on top. I didn't quite taste the "salted" part, but delicious all the same. I'll definitely return to this site. Now, I have two places I can go to when I want food truck dinner: Willow Glen on Fridays and Capital on Saturdays.

While the food eventually arrived, the experience leading up to and during the event was fraught with unnecessary stress. Initial communication was great, but it trailed off as we got closer to the date. Despite their "quick response" phone number, my calls and texts went completely ignored. To make matters worse, the voicemail changed from a personal greeting to a generic one 72 hours before my event, leaving me terrified that we had been scammed. We increased our headcount from 65 to 75 a week prior. After being told this was fine, I was sent an incorrect invoice that ignored the new guest count and asked for a second $300 deposit I had already paid. It took multiple follow-up emails just to get a confirmation on the final numbers. On the day of, the staff arrived promptly and set up on time. However, only 30 minutes into service--with only 30 of our 75 guests fed--they completely ran out of cilantro, onions, and grilled peppers. When I followed up the next day, they claimed they prepared for "70 guests." Even if that were true, it wasn't the 75 we paid for, and it certainly doesn't explain running out of basic toppings after 30 people. I'm incredibly glad we didn't use them for our wedding last year as originally planned. It's disappointing when the service doesn't match the reputation. 2 stars for due prompt service and the guests that got all the food really enjoyed the steak & shrimp.

It was cold, so we didn't eat outside, we ate in the car. Would say our favorites were the nachos, taco and the quesabirria. Felt like the quesabirria didn't have much flavor. The nachos were probably one of the better nachos we've tried that used real cheese. My partner ordered the Carne Asada Tacos and I ordered the Al Pastor Tacos. The wait was about 30 minutes and it was cash only. There is no menu in regard to what items can be ordered but only a sign with the meat options. Average: * Carne Asada Tacos were okay. It's your typical Carne Asada but in my opinion, I found the meat to be a bit too dry for my liking. * Al Pastor Tacos were okay. I enjoyed the sliced of pineapple on the tacos but the meat wasn't as juicy and tender as people make it out to be. Maybe I was unlucky to receive more of the burnt end pieces so it was dry. Hits: * Grilled Onions as a topping added on the tacos is a definite must. Although it is just a topping ingredient, I do believe it makes the taco overall taste better and more enjoyable. Final Verdict: Solid 3/5. I enjoyed the grilled onions and cilantro on my tacos that are provided with the Al Pastor. The green sauce tastes pretty decent with the tacos too but it was a bit underwhelming, I think TikTok hyped it up too much but overall it is an okay spot.
