I enjoyed the rice and veggies, however, the proteins were okay. The chicken did not taste as fresh as I expected, it was bland and lacked seasoning. The beef had a better flavor, however, the texture was similar to imitation meat. Plenty of parking. Great customer service. Clean establishment. Limited indoor seating.

The smallest plate gave me the smallest portion - should've known better when I was the only patron in the store , this is twice now where it been dead empty . Here a word of advice - hire people that are pleasant , competent , Respectful , and know how too give proper ratio , of protein/ too rice . Who would pay almost 15 bucks for this - on top of this you guys are serving old bread ; it was rock HARD . I mean cmon u guys can't even serve fresh bread bc u hire the laziest workers that look like they hate there life - and lastly im not paying for old crumpled chicken that looks like it shredded chicken from Taco Bell , the picture doesn't lie -

I have ordered Halal guys from different branches in CA (not to mention the original in NY). But I will just compare to franchises in CA and say this was the worst ever. Beef gyro was barely there and tasted so salty and stale. Don't order from here!

I used to hang out around here a lot when I briefly lived near this neighborhood. The first time I had The Halal Guys was on 6th Avenue &, W 53rd St. in New York 10 years ago. Some people out there say some of the workers from there are somewhat rude and don't like them, but I never had a problem here and still like it. I'm here tonight for some Halal. This is a Beef Gyro Platter served with my favorite Basmati rice, lettuce, tomatoes, along with my choice of toppings, and their famous white and hot sauce. This could be Chicken, but I decided to get Gyros instead. I had all the toppings, everything on it, and all the fixings. I never had this with Kalamata Olive, Bell Pepper, and Pickled Jalapeño, but it worked out. I also can't forget about the extra Sauce packet, it's like a Tahini Sauce. And yeah, that's Powerade. Everything comes in only one size here. I was thinking this was going to be a 4.0-4.2 stars, but I'm giving this 4.3 stars. It's everything I ever wanted for tonight.

Decided to switch things up for lunch and come to Halal guys! My first experience was in the heart of New York at a halal guys stand and it was an amazing experience. Happy to see they are expanding and that there are locations nearby. This place is located in the plant plaza and the parking can be convenient at times but my desire for some Mediterranean style food overcame that quickly. Last time I had Mediterranean style food was at kebab shack and unfortunately that did not do the job for me that day, hoping Halal guys would turn that around. When I first walked in, we were greeted immediately. The place was empty and I noticed that it could use a little cleaning. The menu was very easy to follow - choose a wrap or platter, style of meat and add-ons. Simplicity makes it easier especially on days I am indecisive. I opted to get the combo platter with beef and chicken. I added onions, peppers, and jalapeños. I opted to get the sauce on the side. They offer two sizes, small or regular, I decided to go with the regular since I was hungry :) The platter was a good size and well presented. Let's start with the beef - very tasty, seasoned well and saltiness was balanced from the rice and lettuce. Chicken was also flavorful - tad bit on the dry side but that didn't bother me too much. The rice was absolutely delicious and the white sauce really put everything together. I was very satisfied after my meal and enjoyed the warm and toasted pita bread afterwards. They also have very fair prices for their platters which is a big plus in this inflation heavy market! Kudos to Halal guys, I will be back!

I came into the restaurant asking how long my order would take, she said 10 minutes. Although there were chairs and tables under an eave, I chose to go to the car. Faviola brought the food to me and it was sprinkling outside! She even came back and gave us extra utensils when she realized there were two of us. All the while smiling:) I ordered via yelp because we were starving and easily this restaurant has their menu in organized and visually appealing. Their descriptions and the variety of selections and customizations on point. My husband said he wasn't hungry but then saw the food and we scarfed it all down. He gave it 8.5 and said would come back. I ordered pickled vegetables which I thought was going to be onions but I think it's actually cabbage. Not my preference so I will take that home to the parents. Did order yogurt dip- husband was a fan. The chicken thigh and filet were so tender. I had put a note on the order for medium rare. I wouldn't call that medium rare but it was tender nonetheless. I'm sad I had to pay extra for a half of a Roma tomato, salad and lavash- the lavash I saw it in the add-ons menu so I assumed it wasn't in there. Ended up with so much lavash. No need to buy extra. The entire thing came up to $63-ish. The food was 4/5 but service was 5/5! I know this economy has everyone struggling. This was probably the most I have spent on Mediterranean food. I would have expected $45-$50. We just came back from Turkey so this would have costed us $15-$20 USD. Portions for rice and meat were good though! All in all- would come back!

If you do stop by for lunch, I recommend arriving with some times to spare as this place can get quite busy. That said, there's always seating and I recommend eating your food while it's still fresh. The thing about shawarmaji is that it's simple but everything is perfect. The chicken is tender, well-seasoned, and generously portioned in all of their items. Their pickles are homemade, have a little variety, and a satisfying amount of crunch. Their toum and chili sauce are also made in-house and are the perfect complement to their food. I always ask for extra. Their chicken shawarma fries are excellent as well. Same toppings as the wrap, but you swap out the flat bread for a generous portion of crispy, almost battered, fries. They're also available as a stand alone side and are worth getting, but the toppings really take it to the next level.

When it was taking longer than expected, I walked back up to them and asked what the status of the order was and they told me that they accidentally gave away my order to a doordasher and that they called him and told him to bring it back so they could give it to me. I'm very disappointed in this practice for a few reasons - at no point did they let me know this transparently, and if I hadn't asked about it, I assume they would have just given me an order that some stranger already drove off with, which is unsanitary, not to mention that my food would be cold. It's also unreasonable to expect that a customer would accept food that someone else drove off with. On top of this, the food took way too long for obvious reasons. Instead of suggesting an appropriate alternative like them remaking the meal they expected me to take the food that passed through someone else's hands. I told them I need a refund because that's a disgusting suggestion. The food here is quite good so I'm very disappointed and reluctant to give this place a bad review, but it's inexcusable to do this in my opinion and doesn't speak well as to the other hygiene practices of this business.

That was the problem with the falafel wrap, too: the menu promised hummus, cabbage & tomatoes salad, and pickled turnips, but those ingredients weren't anywhere to be seen. There was some lettuce instead, but lettuce is a poor substitute as it just becomes immediately soggy and adds no flavor. If you've ever had falafel in Israel, you will be disappointed by the falafel here, unfortunately. (Israeli falafel shops each make at least a dozen toppings from family recipes, so you put as many veggies and sauces in as you can to create a flavor party in your mouth.)
