Been hearing a lot about this place so wanted to check it out. The lamb is definitely popular and flavorful here (I don't eat lamb much but my partner said it was very tender and full of spice). The chicken is good, but could have some more flavor. The additions and fillings in the wrap do make it come all together though. The place is pretty small with limited seating, it looks like most folks take their food to go. Not pictured is a baklava we had for dessert which was delishhhh.

Tried Iraklis today after a friend highly recommended it! It's a fast casual middle eastern restaurant on El Camino, that's home to a bunch of other really good spots. We were greeted by the owner of the restaurant who was working the register while also serving customers. He was very warm and welcoming, ready to answer our questions or help us make decisions on what to order. I got the lamb shawarma plate that comes on a bed of rice, side of hummus, salad and pickled radish for $17.99. Price wise I felt that this was a good chunk of food for your buck. The flavor of the lamb was nothing super crazy it has a blend of sweet and savory from the pomegranate glaze. I would come back to try their other dishes and the manakesh looked pretty appetizing!

The young lady at the register may want to brush up on her customer service skills. I ordered the falafel which was more heavy on the salt than expected. I love falafel and I love salt, but these were a bit difficult to eat. The pita was also tough and almost hard to chew. It felt like when you microwave something for too long so it turns rubbery. Everything else was good, though. I loved the labaneh and baba ghanoush.

We were both craving Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food. We decided to eat at IRAKLIS. They have a variety of Lebanese, Syrian and Armenian cuisine. We were warmly greeted by the owner, Daii, when we walked in. He is so nice and welcoming. You place your order at the counter and take a number. Then your food is delivered to you. There are about 6 or so tables inside for dining in. I decided to try the falafel plate and my husband ordered the chicken shawarma plate. We also ordered the sujuk and cheese manakish. Our food was delivered to us very quickly. The sujuk and cheese manakish was so delicious. Sujuk is an Armenian sausage made with lots of spices. It's really delicious and worked so well with the melted cheese on the flatbread. My felafel tasted great but the exterior was hard. I think it got fried a little too long. The middle was nice and soft. It tasted good with the tahini sauce and pickled turnips. The hummus is amazing here. They make that fresh on site. It also came with a nice salad with tomatoes, lettuce and cucumber and a spiced rice. The rice is delicious and tastes like there is a bit of all spice in it. My husband's chicken shawarma plate was good the chicken was a bit dry but worked well with the garlic sauce it came with. The chicken had great flavor, it was just overcooked. He enjoyed the rice and salad as well. We will definitely be back. I'd like to try the Damascus style Shawarma wrap next time. A big thank you to Daii for his kindness. I really enjoyed chatting with him.

Delicious and authentic Syrian food! Service was wonderful with the most friendly staff! She explained what certain items were with enthusiasm and pride. Food was plentiful! The decor was fun, lively, and colorful.

Came here with my fiancé on a Saturday night around 10pm and Iraklis was fairly busy. The atmosphere was lively yet still relaxing and comfortable, with a decent amount of indoor seating. It's located in a large plaza, which made parking easy and stress-free. We were greeted right away by the server at the counter, who was friendly, patient, and helpful with recommendations. We ordered: Chicken Damascus Style Wrap: Super flavorful and delicious. The wrap comes with fries, tzatziki sauce, and pickles, and I loved that it was pre-cut, which made it easy to eat. 5/5 Mansaf: The rice was soft and tender, and I enjoyed the added crunch from the almonds. However, the lamb was a bit too gamey for my taste, and the butter yogurt sauce was quite rich and slightly more sour. 3/5 Turkish Delight: An absolute delight! We ordered the pomegranate flavor and it was fantastic. Great chewy texture and the fruity pomegranate flavor really stood out. I would definitely order this again. 5/5 Overall, we had a solid experience, and despite a few mixed notes, the welcoming service and standout dishes make this a spot worth checking out.

Iraklis is located in a shopping center that shares a parking lot with several other businesses - some restaurants, some retail. Parking towards one side of the center can get packed - the lines are small and tight which makes parking a hassle. Thankfully, Iraklis is located on the side that has much more space and less people tend to park this far out. This is my 2nd time here. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate and a turkish delight for dessert. Service was quick and friendly and I had my food in about 10 minutes. The decorations inside was cute - flower vines and whimsical items hanging from the ceiling. Overall, a place I'd like to sit and enjoy some time - but not this time as I was on a time crunch. I used to live in this area and am sad I never knew about this place until I moved. But, now I know I can come here for good food if I'm ever in the area!

We were walking around Santana Row and thought we'd try Iraklis, a casual Lebanese eatery that's about 10 minutes away. This spot comes highly rated by Yelpers and I'm one of them, but it fell short during our visit. My guy went to order our food at the register while I sat down at a table, so I didn't know what appetizer he ordered. I only told him I wanted a shish tawook wrap. He stood there for a few minutes chatting with the cashier in hopes of getting something authentic and yummy! He came back to the table looking confused and uncertain as he sat down. He said he had gotten Foul Jordanian Style which is something that's popular among customers, at least that's what the cashier told him. There was no description on the menu of what he had ordered. I didn't think much of it. But when it came, we were disappointed to see mashed up beans and garbanzo beans with diced tomatoes on top with a few sprinkles of spice. Jordanians eat beans like this?! And that was $12.99! The pita bread didn't seem fresh either. It was chewy and not airy or fluffy. We ate it, because we were hungry, but it sat heavy and ruined our appetite. Definitely something unexpected and highly disappointing. Seriously, it tasted like refried beans from a can with middle eastern spices. Unfortunately, those beans gave me heartburn too (among other things!). Thankfully, we ordered other food that tasted better. My chicken shish twook wrap was juicy and delicious. Eating the beans filled me, so I could only eat half. My guy got a chicken shawarma plate that was plentiful and tasty, but the chicken was dry and overcooked. We got some garlic spread from the cashier which helped. But even toum, the garlic spread was dense like mayonnaise. The texture did not taste authentic. If only we had a much better appetizer, the star rating would have been different. I think the menu should describe what to expect as we came in clueless of what is Foul Jordanian Style. Got the chicken wrap with fries. The fries were super fresh and perfectly salted. The wrap was more crispier and heavier than anticipated, but still tasted great.

We came in for takeout, and Alexa took the best care of us in terms of guiding us for the right desserts and a vegetarian dinner plate. She was so kind and patient with all of her questions and provided excellent recommendations based on our preferences. But to be honest with you, above all you go to a restaurant so you can try food that is good. And honestly, this was some of the best hummus and falafel I've ever had. It's difficult to find a place that truly captures the falafel texture how it should. Same with hummus, it's one thing to go to a Trader Joe's or someplace that They use something premade, it's another to actually try it from people who know what they're doing. I hold restaurants to high technical standards, this place truly makes that mark. I will certainly be going back, and I can't wait for the next time.

Had a chance to try Iraklis and it was a nice experience. It's a casual spot where you order at the counter and then get a number which then they will bring you food. Service was pretty fast which was nice and you take your own water/napkins/utensils. For food we ordered: *chicken wrap Damascus style - this was my favorite as I liked the flavors of the chicken and the delicious garlic sauce. I also liked that this came with French fries *lamb wrap - for some reason I did not enjoy this much, I felt that the wrap did not have as much flavor as the chicken one * manakeesh bread - I got this with half cheese and Zatar and this was nice. Lots of flavors which was fun and the bread was soft Overall nice experience and enjoyed all the different flavors!

We came here one evening for dinner. It's a nice restaurant with nice decor, saw some dishes I haven't seen at other restaurants before which was nice. We ordered the lamb plate, Damascus chicken wrap, falafel and the foul Jordanian style. The lamb plate came with marinated lamb, with rice, hummus, pickled turnips and a salad. The salad was a bit tart for me but when mixing it with the other components of the dish it was more well balanced. Lamb was good so was the hummus. The Damascus chicken wrap came with thinly sliced chicken which was seasoned nicely with a garlic spread, pickles and pomegranate molasses on a wrap. It also came with a side of pickles and garlic toum. This also came with a side of fries. The chicken wrap was flavorful and delicious, I like how the wrap on the outside was crispy too. The fries were okay, they were definitely fresh but probably need to be twice fried so there would be a crispy outside. The fries were seasoned well though. We also got the falafel which had nice seasonings, and a side of tahini to dip in. The foul Jordanian style was new to me, I've heard of foul which is made with fava beans, mixed with yogurt, tomatoes, and other seasonings. It was refreshing and worked well with the pita but a little more on the sour tasting side. Overall, really good experience. Will come back again to try their Turkish delights as well.

The food was amazing, and the service was outstanding. We were greeted warmly as soon as we walked in, which set the tone right away. My husband and I ordered the original chicken shawarma, the Damascus chicken shawarma, and the sujuk manakeesh... everything was incredibly delicious. It honestly made the two-hour drive completely worth it. Definitely coming back for another round of the menu!

If you do stop by for lunch, I recommend arriving with some times to spare as this place can get quite busy. That said, there's always seating and I recommend eating your food while it's still fresh. The thing about shawarmaji is that it's simple but everything is perfect. The chicken is tender, well-seasoned, and generously portioned in all of their items. Their pickles are homemade, have a little variety, and a satisfying amount of crunch. Their toum and chili sauce are also made in-house and are the perfect complement to their food. I always ask for extra. Their chicken shawarma fries are excellent as well. Same toppings as the wrap, but you swap out the flat bread for a generous portion of crispy, almost battered, fries. They're also available as a stand alone side and are worth getting, but the toppings really take it to the next level.

They load them up with a generous amount of chicken, pickles, and garlic sauce layered over the fries, so every bite has tons of flavor. This is definitely one of my favorite spots for chicken shawarma now. Highly recommend!

Hella yummy Palestinian food in the Bay!…read more I've heard of Holyland but finally had the chance to dine there for a weekend lunch. These days it's always at the front of my mind that food spots that call themselves "Middle Eastern" or "Mediterranean" truly divulge who is the owner and chefs are. I'm talking about only eating from restaurants that can name the country their food comes from be it Falasteen, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, the list goes on. Holyland is located in the industrial part of Santa Clara, and they boast lots of interior seating (great for large parties and group meals) and also run a catering service. So there's loads of parking and plenty of space. My friend and I were hungry, so I got the lamb kofta and he had the beef plates. We were SO happy. It comes with a light tangy salad, delicious hummus with a kick of spice, a bed of delicious yellow rice and slender pita bread. They also have serve-yourself hot cardamom tea which is so delicious and perfect. They also serve a bunch of other refrigerated drinks like Salaam Cola and kefir. The mezze plate with x4 different dips looks so yummy, I would get that next time with a large group to share. Will definitely head back with a larger group. We saw other diners from couples, to solo to large families eating. The interior could use some sprucing up, but the quality of the food, staff, and authenticity of the place is #1. Delicious.
