    Taco Salad
    Duke S.

Underrated spot that is tucked away in the corner of a plaza. Small and unassuming it's definitely worth giving this place a shot. They were very quick to help and serve us for an early dinner. They do close early (6:00) as they specialize more in brunch and lunch so plan accordingly. But the taco salad was a great portion size for the price and had tons of all the toppings/garnishes.

Got the breakfast burrito for $13 and although it's on the smaller side in comparison to other restaurants, the flavor was great! It's definitely on the dryer side and I would ask for an extra cup of hot sauce on the side.

Amazing service , amazing food. You can see the kitchen and watch the amazing chef cook, I love it here . This is my first time . Their salsa and chips are super fresh. I'm definitely come back. They have a nice patio area that's definitely a vibe . It's a smaller restaurant in a grocery parking lot . AMAZING. Rice and beans are perfection

I stopped off here this morning to pick up an early meal. I was the only there for a short period and the food was prepared quickly and I was out quickly. I do wish the staff were a little less grumpy though, my mood was down 20% after that interaction. The food was a good portion and decent.

I tried the chicken regular tacos and thought it was decent. The meat maintained moisture and was well seasoned. It came with corn tacos and the typical fixings (onions, cilantro, etc.). I asked for a side of their green salsa, which had a pretty good kick. There is plenty of parking in the plaza. The food was prepared quickly and service was prompt.

I go here for the Al Pastor torta. I get a Tamarindo Jarritos with it, and it legit makes my whole day. The torta is so good. I'm a gringa, so I don't know how the al pastor compares to other places or styles, but I love it. Small business run by a chef and waitress. They work hard and deserve the community's support. Good, clean small joint that cares about its customers. I live and work nearby, and I love that this reliable spot is open every day from 9:00 to 6:00, so I can come by any day for lunch!

I've been to this plaza less than 5x. I did not know a taqueria is located here. It was a Friday and I promised Tess I would get her poke for dinner. I knew Gavin and I would get Mexican but I didn't know from where. I wanted to get the poke out of the way first but serendipity presented itself when we parked. Flamingo's was 3-4 doors down from poke. SCORE! Gavin ordered a regular chicken burrito and I ordered the chile verde and super nachos. I can't speak for Gavin but he enjoyed both halves of his burritos, no complaints whatsoever. I inhaled the chile verde that same evening; the pork was tender and paired perfectly w/ their fluffy rice! I did not like the super nachos... the top of the nachos was good but once you've eaten everything at the top, the rest was rather dry and flavorless. Skip the nachos. Get the chile verde. They have outdoor dining as well.

a sign for a mexican takeout

Located right next door to Lions market for some reason I had the hardest time spotting their sign "no joke" anyhooo wifey and I managed to find them. When I first walked I noticed the place looks unkempt, normally I would have walked out at this point but after looking at all posted food pictures I decided to give it a go. Now the lady that took our order seem very stern, no smile and was very direct. I ordered a chorizo and egg with potatoes and cheese breakfast burrito, I asked her if i could have bacon with it? She said... no, one meat only, beacon extra. I was thinking to myself, self what did you get yourself into? I just smiled and said that is fine with me, please add beacon. I also ordered a horchata drink. A couple minutes later she came back to the table with some chips and watery salsa and the Horchata. "This review sounds like it's going downhill doesn't it? Actually here's where everything completely turns around. I took a sip of the horchata and my taste buds exploded!! It had such a beautiful cinnamon taste (little on the sweeter side but sooo good" honestly I don't think I've ever had Horchata that was even remotely as good as this! About 10 minutes later my breakfast burrito showed up cut in half. With a side of the same watery salsa. when I added the salsa to the burrito it had a really mild smoky flavor, simply delicious. And my breakfast? Oh...... my..... gosh!! Everything about it was freaking amazing!! The big chunks of potatoes tasted better than the best home fries! The burrito had a light chorizo flavor with a beautiful bacon aftertaste, and was perfectly juicy. It has been years since I've had A breakfast burrito so good, I'm talking like over 30 years!! Yah man, that good. I think the lady over herd me having a food-gasm. Yah man I was making some noise!! I must have told her 5 times how good it was, she just smiled the shot me that stern look again lol, I really think she's a softy on the inside because she asked me if I wanted A refill on my Horchata or if I wanted any water? I said no as I was quite satisfied plus I couldn't see cuz myzz eyezzz were still rolled up in the back of my head C; bottom line is I would give them 5 if they spend some time cleaning the place and tidying up a bit. But the food 5 stars all day every day!!

Super burrito minus beans pico and sour cream
    Denise L.

Friend and I were craving burritos so made our way to this taqueria, part of a decent sized plaza off Saratoga. It's clean and nice, waitress was attentive. Their menu is pretty extensive, with even breakfast items! However, we both got the carne asada super burrito, and I omitted the beans, pico and sour cream. We were given a handful of chips and salsa, salsa was pretty good. We also asked for a spicier salsa for our burritos. I liked how the tortilla came grilled. We did get some cartilage in our carne asada, but tends to be normal at times. The burrito was good, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Lots of take out orders and dine in orders. I ordered 5 super tacos to share with different meats (pollo, carne asada, al pastor, carnitas and chorizo). The super tacos come with cilantro, onions, avocado, sour cream, cheese and pico de gallo. All the tacos come with homemade corn tortillas - you could tell they were fresh. The tacos are big, not small at all. The carne asada, carnitas and pollo was my favorite. Al pastor was good as well, chorizo was not that flavorful for me. However, they also have 3 types of salsas (green, red and a creamy orange) you can use to help add some more flavor if needed. I plan to come back here to try their burritos and tortas as well next time.

The tacos were good and the tortilla they used was quite thick. The enchiladas had good flavor as well, and I would be interested in trying their enchilada with the verde sauce next time. Their prices have steadily risen over time and they have updated their menu prices as well. One thing that elevated this restaurant to 4 stars is their sauce! The red sauce and green sauce recipe is definitely unique compared to other taquerias. The red sauce bottle helps with the flavor tremendously and without it I would have rated this place lower.

We were seated at the booth in the back, which I have always admired, but I now realize it has its disadvantages. It is right by the bathroom, which got a bit of traffic on our visit. That's not such a big deal. The bigger concerns I have are: (1) there is no cushioning for those of us with little of our own and (2) you have to sit up fairly straight and if you want to lean against the wall, you're likely to rub shoulders with the wall hanging. Next time I will ask to be seated someplace else as there were two 2-tops outside. The food is always made from quality ingredients and I'm glad to see they are experimenting with pricing and quantity. I did not see mention of their daily happy hour, which was a feature of last year's visit so that may be gone. However, they now have a five tacos platter which offers relatively good value from the menu prices. This would be good for sharing for two people I think. But that is not what we ordered on this visit. My wife ordered two vegetarian (verduras) tacos and the Blood Orange/Jalapeno mocktail. I ordered the huevos rancheros. Unlike Luna, tortilla chips and salsa are not complimentary. So we let our appetites build. Our food arrived fairly quickly, so that was good and we dug in. My wife had ordered two extra eggs (extra charge) to accompany her tacos, and I think she was glad she did. The vegetarian tacos were not terribly generous for the price. My huevos rancheros came in a neatly stacked pile. My wife thought to ask if they had a hot sauce and they do! So we requested their hottest version. It was a welcome addition to the meal (gratis). A little vinegary, but plenty of heat. The mocktail was quite good. Like Spindrift and some other sparkling waters, it is not sweetened, but it had a good amount of strained blood orange juice, and you could taste the fresh jalapeño. I wonder if they have tried adding mint to this as I think it would be welcome. Maybe next time I will ask if they can experiment with me by adding some mint.

It got so loud at one point that we couldn't even talk with each other without having to practically scream. The decoration is beautiful though and feels like you're at a Mexican mom's fancy kitchen. Service was not good at all. We had to wait over 15 minutes to get our order taken and then we watched our food stand on the counter top for another 5 minutes. Once we were served we were never checked up on until the end when we had to flag them down to get the check. I don't think we'll be coming back.

This made it so seamless to reserve here. Our group got there at opening and our table was ready and most of the group was already seated when we got there. Drink orders were flowing as the waitress caught up to me and I got a cafe de olla. We browsed the menu and the more I looked the harder it was to pick one thing. I ended up choosing chilaquiles with a bandera sauce and carne asada as the added protein. The rest of the table got all different types of dishes from carne en su jugo to birria to omelettes. While we enjoyed each other's company sipping on our cafecito I enjoyed the ambiance of the space. Nicely decorated for the holidays. Since it was opening time it wasn't as loud as I imagine it can get in there. The sun did shine on the faces of those facing the windows which was not enjoyable for them. There was no way to cover the sun either since it was coming in from the top windows with no shade. My food came out along with the rest of the plates and we went right in to enjoy them. My favorite chilaquiles was covered in the white sauce. The red and green were good but the white sauce was my favorite. The carne was cooked well but I could taste it wasn't marinated or lacked flavor. I didn't get a knife to cut the meat so it was very difficult to enjoy a piece with my chilaquiles. It was hard to cut with a butter knife. I thought it would be a piece of steak but it was a piece of carne asada. Eggs were scrambled and cooked well. The whole plate was filling, had flavor, and was a good portion. The cafe de olla had a good flavor but a tad sweet for my preference. The space in here is a vibe. A fun place to enjoy large gatherings. I came for breakfast but will update when I come back to visit for dinner. Bathrooms are clean. Staff was welcoming and efficient in taking care of our group. Hospitality was a 10/10. Parking in the am was a breeze but at prime time I can see it being a complete nightmare so plan accordingly. I enjoyed my visit and will come back to check out the dinner menu.

As we cruised by looking for parking, it was clear we had picked a lively spot--buzzing energy everywhere: inside, outside, and even upstairs. We were quickly seated indoors, though on such a beautiful day we assumed we'd be offered outdoor seating. No big deal--we asked, and they happily moved us to a shaded table with plenty of space. Much better. Drinks were first on the agenda: margaritas and a michelada, all refreshing and exactly what we were hoping for. Our server, Michelle, was friendly, attentive, and even shared some helpful tips about perks with our American Express Platinum Card--a nice, unexpected touch. We kicked things off with queso fundido, though a brief mix-up brought us chips and guacamole from another table first. Once we pointed it out, it was quickly handled--but honestly, it looked so good we ended up ordering it anyway. No regrets there--it definitely hit the spot. We hadn't planned on a full dinner, so we went with lighter bites. The tuna tostadas and halibut ceviche were a hit--fresh, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. I went with the tortilla soup, which was good and nicely presented... but didn't quite wow me. I've been on a bit of a tortilla soup tour lately, and this one leaned a little heavy on the tortillas (soaking up too much broth) and had more zucchini than I expected. That said, major points for serving it piping hot--something a lot of places miss--and the avocado was a great addition. One thing worth noting: I didn't catch it until later, but there's a 4% living wage surcharge added to the bill--and it's taxed. That caught me off guard, and I'm still not entirely sure how that works in California. Overall, a fun, energetic spot with great drinks, tasty bites, and solid service. Not perfect, but definitely good enough to come back for another round.
