    Pescado a lo macho
    Lexi R.

Decided to give this place a try because I was desperately craving pervade a lo macho. The food was mediocre. A lot of the seafood was unfortunately overcooked. The sauce was okay, decent enough, but definitely falls short when I compare it to other pescado a lo machos I've had. My husband's lomo saltado was overcooked as well, though the flavor of the sauce on this dish was great! The service however was so kind and welcoming! I really wish we loved the food.

I wanted to try Pisco Bar for a while and popped in on a Saturday afternoon when the place was relatively quiet....I chose a Pisco Sour cocktail which I found delicious and delicately sour, ideal for an afternoon. For an appetizer I had the cerviche pisco bar, a large portion, full of sharp tasting fish ... excellent! As a main I took the Paella Pisco Bar, not realising both starter and main took the name of the restaurant until writing this, but worth it. I only ate about half and took a box for home which the waitress was helpful with, for a dessert intended for later I took a packet of Alfajores biscuits which had a had centre ....

We came to Pisco Bar for happy hour and it was lovely! The service was so friendly and prompt, the pisco sours were excellent and beautifully presented, and our appetizers were delicious. They have some GREAT happy hour deals. Definitely worth a visit!

Came here after an event on a weekend evening, and the place was surprisingly empty. The restaurant is comprised of two connecting rooms, with a bar in the entry room. I probably would've left 4 stars for the food, but it just took so incredibly long to receive food even though there were only a couple of tables of customers that we all got very hangry by the time the food came. I was also so annoyed at the waiter for many reasons - barely present even though he had like two tables. I mean the food was the kind of slow where he should have checked in and updated us. - didn't know his wines, and when I asked if I could try two, he said "we don't do that here". What is there not to do? just pour a sip into two glasses! - thirdly, I saw pictures of raw salmon on yelp that I wanted to order. I mistakenly ordered the Salmon a la Parilla which is cooked instead of the Tiradito de Salmon, which is raw. He asked me how I wanted the salmon cooked, and I replied "Isn't it raw?" and he said that he recommended it at least medium well done, and I let it go and said sure. I feel like that would've been a great opportunity to tell me perhaps I was thinking of the other raw salmon dish! Anyway, I didn't like the "creamy" soup-like quinoa that the Salmon a la Parilla came with. The seafood paella was really small, and was presented in a small bowl. By the time we realized we ordered the wrong dish, and the dishes were small, I was like heck no, I'm not waiting another 45 plus minutes to order another dish.

Honestly I don't know what to feel about this place. The dishes my mother & I had were great- EXCEPT for the fact they ran out of rice, so instead of letting us know, they just served my mom UNDERCOOKED rice. Like rice that was mushy yet hard in the middle and for some reason, incredibly salty. We let the waiter know & he brought the dish to the back to attempt to fix it, and then brought it back to our table and told us they ran out of rice and there wasn't anything they could do about it. ????? Maybe provide an alternative starch rather than make someone literally eat UNDERCOOKED rice???? Anyway, I had to give my mom most of my perfectly cooked rice for her to enjoy her Mother's Day meal. Unfortunately, the waiter misheard my father and served the wrong meal. It look the ENTIRE time we were there to remake what he ordered. My mom & I were really hungry since we just hiked so we ate our food. My dad has a low blood sugar issue so he needed sugar from a drink or food. He ordered a coke and never got it until I had to ask for the second time. We ended up just getting the correct order packed to-go after maybe 45 minutes or an hour of waiting. The waiter was really nice to us & comped my dad's meal and provided a discount for the rice which we really appreciated... It's a shame the because the food tasted AMAZING. Probably the best Peruvian food I've had in the Bay. I know it's a holiday & the restaurant might be understaffed, but the place wasn't busy at all. Tables were dirty for a long time, the bathroom lacked proper items, and the speaker's radio static kept going off. I really think this place could do SO much better for their customers. Lomo Saltado: flavor was a 10/10- except I only had a little bit of rice so overall 7/10 Seco de Res: 5/10- undercooked rice, good flavors Yuca w/ aji sauce: 10/10 favorite Ceviche Clasico: 10/10 but small portion CaipiCuzco drink: soooooo good 10/10 very little alcohol but just enough Pina Colada: 10/10

If this is the standard for authentic Peruvian food then we're moving to Peru! Our first time and loved it!! The sweet ceviche is a must try and the beef was amazing!! Wonderful service. Highly recommend.

Friendly wait staff and very nice menu selection Stopped in after a hike in Sanborn county park. Ordered a draft and the ensalada de Palta y Cameron's. The salad was very refreshing and I enjoyed the slightly sweet and tangy dressing. I grabbed a table street side. Lovely experience. This place is a hit

What can I say about The Anchors Team, Carlos and their amazing gracious care for their guests?…read more Nothing but PURE perfection! Tonight was my first time to the Saratoga location. We live in Downtown San Jose and remember when Anchors opened at San Pedro Square. We so love that place. Great Food and perfect service. Carlos was working there and was always so pleasant and made sure we were always well taken care of. Life gets in the way so we spent less time out at San Pedro so the last few times we went we went to get our favorite seafood we did not see Carlos. A few months ago I was caring for a client's pups and we needed dinner. So my husband Wayne went into Saratoga to go to Anchors to pick up some dinner for us. He gave me the best news that Carlos was at the Saratoga location. I was so excited because I had missed seeing "our friend". He always made us feel some comfortable. Wayne wanted to go to Anchors Saratoga to celebrate his birthday tonight! Who am I to say no? When we walked thru the door I was so happy to see Carlos ! He welcomed us with such a warm smile and was attentive to every detail including welcoming Wayne by his name! We had the most delicious calamari appetizer I have ever had followed by Creamy Lemon Garlic Seafood Pasta - TOTAL PERFECTION!!!!!!! *side note! Foods arrived promptly and we were surprised to see a many-piece fish dish served. Upon inquiry, the server mistook "Fish & Chips Combo Family Meal" with "Fish & Chips Family Meal". This meant we missed scallops, shrimps, and oysters and got just fish. She explained that what was served was lower in price, that did not impressed us. We ended up ordering another shrimp appetizer and bagged the extra fish. The server did not make any remedial offers. Just "oh well, that's what I wrote, moved on, decide what to do." That's a bit irking. As for the foods, they were pretty good. Seasoning was on the light side, and that's exactly how we liked it. Clam chowder was quite creamy. Tasty too, but you need to like creamy clam chowder first. There were two Louie Salad. Shrimp one was considerably less expensive than crab. Make sure to order the right one. But we're well made and delicious. I won't mind coming back, but probably not out of my way to do so.

We were 10 minutes late (saying goodbye to children) and the restaurant was pleasant. Thankfully, they were still taking in orders for drinks and had not started. It is much slimmer pickings than the sake, but enjoyed our sparkling wine paired with the kaiseki very much. The dishes were all excellent. The thing that lingered in my mind even till this day, a week after I am writing this review, is that umami flavor bomb chawanmushi with mosel mushroom and uni (never can go wrong with uni). The other thing that I thought took more skill, attention, and was unique to the chef's background was their dashi/broth. It was a complex of flavors from the sea that all paired well together. I thoroughly enjoyed every sip, and the flavors waking up all parts of my tongue. One more part - the meat dishes were not my favorite. They just do the seafood so well. Oh! The restaurant is located in downtown Campbell and there's plenty of street and garage parking. The restaurant itself had very simple, clean, and modern feel and was very intimate. The menu changes daily based on what's available, and we had the choice to do family sharing style ($125/person) or al la carte. Since the menu wasn't super extensive, we decided to give family style a try so we didn't have to think about what to order and how much to order. The family sharing style came with 4 raw dishes, 4 starter/appetizer dishes, 3 main dishes, and 1 dessert. For our raw dishes round, I really enjoyed the salmon (with some type of chili oil), and the scallops with Chinese sausage. For the appetizer round, I really enjoyed the clam (although a bit small) and the potato chip with caviar (very creamy and flavorful). As for the main, I really enjoyed the cornbread although would say the ikura gets a bit covered up by the creamy sauce (although still incredibly delicious). We also got a short rib but I found it to be a bit heavy in the sauce and on the saltier side. The dessert was a chocolate peanut bar that felt like a very elevated snickers bar. Overall, food is pretty good even though on the pricier side and the service is excellent. This is definitely more of a special occasion kind of restaurant!
