They have a bar area where you can enjoy a glass of wine after work with friends, among other options. So glad we came here!!! My boyfriend and i originally were trying to go to another popular wine tasting but were completely ignored. As soon as we walked in to Uncorked, we were greeted immediately and kindly attended to by Patrick (the owner) who was very kind and told us all about the different tastings. We went with the standard red tasting and white tasting. They had lovely tables and seating by the window where we were able to take our time and chat. The whole experience was very comfortable and laid back. Patrick was very accommodating and let me take pictures of all of the bottles for my wine app. Our favorite wines from our flights were the 2018 Lucas & Lewellan Pinot noir and the 2018 Saracina Unoaked Chardonnay. Came here while strolling through downtown Saratoga and wanted a glass of wine to enjoy outside, my boyfriend and I were greeted by Patrick and promptly poured a great glass of wine. Pours are heavy and wine is tasty. We sat in their outdoor seating area and it was very relaxing. Prices are more than fair and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Definitely worth a visit! read more

We haven't been able to visit since Mike and Sherri left the place in the capable hands of their partner but I'm sure it's still fabulous. Small shop with a great selection of both the familiar/reliable and the unique. Something for everyone. The small wine bar area always had great tastings on Friday nights with one bubble and a flight choice of three or five tastings. Haven't had a chance to attend any of their classes but I have heard they are very good. Great stuff here and they were/are very knowledgeable and helpful. Not at all snobby. It's funny how diverse the reviews are for this place. I've liked almost all of the tastings...even the reds, and I'm not much of a red wine drinker. I like the guy working behind the counter because he's laid back and quiet. He doesn't try to hard sell us any wines like some of the folks in Napa. My fiance and I like to go in, taste, and enjoy the company of whoever happens to be there. I also just found out that they sell Cava Rosada. Oh, happy day! read more

I will never wine taste at this venue. I agree with the below posts in that it is convenient to stop by while waiting for your table at La Fondue and looks like they had a great wine selection. However I disagree with the friendly staff. My SO and I noticed it on the way to check in for our table at La Fondue. I always get excited about finding a new spot for wines and tasting local stuff. We belong to a wine club in Napa and enjoy formal wine tasting experiences quite often. So when the host let us know it would be a few minutes I asked if we had time to check out Uncorked. We walk in and the man behind the tasting counter stops laughing and chatting with the current tasters and turns the sign with information about tasting around. I look at him and he says we aren't tasting anymore. So I'm a bit put off but I decide to look around anyway. I look at a few wines that they are showcasing in a crate and another man says, "oh, that's the look but don't touch stuff." ARE YOU KIDDING ME! There is absolutely nothing about us that should set off such a reaction. I was offended, unwelcome and upset. We went back to La Fondue and told them of our experience in hopes that they do not recommend this place for waiting again. read more

I've been here twice. The first time was with some friends prior to chocolate doom at La Fondue; the second time was with Joy Monkey Adobo DYK Nymph Troll A. We were looking for reasonably priced eats in downtown Saratoga and stopped in at this place just to take a peek. The guy there (a part owner) invited us to join three other guys already doing a tasting. It's $10 for three reasonably sized pours. They were nice enough to provide a fourth tasting as a bonus. The fourth, a table wine, gave us a nice buzz to help us stumble around Big Basin Way and eventually into Los Gatos. All in all, a pretty cool stopping point in downtown Saratoga. *hic* read more

Uncorked has a deal with La Fondue and Sent Sovi. If you purchase a wine there, corkage is free for the first bottle at the other establishments. After looking at Sent Sovi's wine list of $100 wines, we decided to stop by Uncorked before going to dinner. The tasting area is tiny, with about 4-6 seats at the bar. The owner was nice and unpretentious. We asked if he could recommend a chilled white wine. He asked us our budget and we said $20. He quickly recommended a $15 wine that was delicious and went perfect with our dinner. I don't think this is a place I would personally go to hang out and do wine tastings. However, I do recommend coming here to grab a bottle before dining at the above mentioned restaurants. read more

Stopped by this charming little wine shop and wine bar as part of a Dishcrawl event with about eighty other folks, so please adjust your expectations accordingly. Eighty people was a few too many for this small, wine-filled space, and things got a little stuffy. One side of the room is taken up by a tasting bar, reasonably large for a wine shop this size. The rest of the room contains wooden racks displaying a fairly good selection of wines. There are a lot of wines available at the $16 price point, with both somewhat less expensive and considerably more expensive bottles scattered around as well. Some number of the bottles have little notes about them, but the majority are not described by more than the information on their labels ... I saw some familiar names, but would assume one could rely on some guidance when not visiting the store with eighty of one's closest new friends. They advertise a happy hour ( $7 glasses of wine rather than $10 ), and were relatively friendly when cornered, though not everyone pouring had details of this aspect of their operation. Eighty folks is admittedly a lot of folks for a small place like this, but they did seem more interested in spending quality time with some people than with others. The wines they chose to pour - a Domaine Sonoma Chardonnay, Shooting Star Pinot Noir and a 2006 Thomas Fogarty red called Skyline - were all decent, but nothing particularly special - at least the two we tried, the Chardonnay and Skyline, were perhaps the least interesting wines we had that night. I like wine shops and wine bars. This one seems decent, but not particularly special. Definitely worth a stop at a quieter time. read more

Walking by this place after lunch, a wine box labeled "Nickel & Nickel" caught my eye, as our family name is Nickel (no relation). So we walked in, baby and stroller and grandparents and all. Patrick greeted us warmly and was quick to answer all our questions, and was very knowledgable about Nickel & Nickel especially! It was a fun lesson in an expensive wine we hadn't heard of. We would have bought a bottle of N&N Cab, but they were out of it currently. So we asked how much for the wine box lids/panels, and Patrick handed us 2 to keep, at no charge! How amazing is that? The wine drinkers of our group will be back to get one or two actual bottles in the future! The wine guy working was totally boring but very kind. He did give me an extra pour of the Zin and let us eat our cheese that we brought but he talked like the guy in the red eye commercials. If you are looking for a down-to-earth wine store & tasting bar try Uncorked! The owner, Patrick, specalizes in excellent "price performer" wines. Mostly smaller boutique wineries that are often associated with leading wine makers there is always an interesting array of wines both in the shop and the wine bar ( which now also includes some interesting beers!). I've been coming here for several years and always enjoy the wines offered at the tasting bar as well as those in the store. My beau and I found this place by chance. We had reservations for La Fondue and were about 45 minutes ahead of schedule, so we decided to walk around downtown Saratoga and found this spot. Being the wino that I am, we just had to check out the selection. Right off the bat, good vibes. You see, I find that because I am young, people often assume that I am ignorant about wine, when in all honesty I know more than majority of people twice my age. The fact that people often assume such is rather annoying and I find them to in fact be the ignorant ones... (ok, done with that vent). Anyways, the gentleman who greeted us was very nice and even offered to do a tasting with us while we had time to spare. Wine bars that attempt to present themselves as upscale and exclusive admittedly intimidate me, because I've only recently gotten into wine. But Uncorked is humble and welcoming. There's no snootiness here, and I appreciate that. I can't say much on the wine selection, because, as I mentioned above, I'm still new to this wine tasting business, but I enjoyed each pouring. It baffles me how some reviews refer to Patrick as 'unfriendly' or a 'jerk', because he was an absolute delight to me and my boyfriend. So I decided a trip was in order to check out Saratoga, with only about two hours before an event we decided at the last minute to check out this cute town. Where did we end up? Or might I say, where did we only go? - Uncorked Walking in the place is clean, charming, vibrant and welcoming as you approach the wine bar for tastings. We were one of two couples there and apparently it had just opened as the owner seemed a bit out of it and said he was 'still waking up'. So my fiance and I browse the lists of flights, labels on the bottles and I end up letting out that I am not a fan of Chardonnays. Sweetly the owner says he had meant to open another type of wine and selects something for me to go on the line up. My fiance and I decide on sharing a flight of five wines, red and whites mixed together. The pours were more than reasonable for the15 dollars (I believe), by the time we were done and had even gotten a bonus of a fantastic cab from france, we felt completely that we got what we paid for. While sitting at the bar, we discussed wines, he told us of the area and was really quite friendly without pushing his way into the conversation. Later we met what seemed to be a local to the wine bar and he gave us some great restaurant tips around the area. As the bar filled the place only seemed to be more friendly, charming and worth returning, which we will. What a wonderful find and I whole heartedly recommend. I came across uncorked when I was looking for a venue for my engagement party. I looked at several wine bars in the area including Joseph George, Unwined, and Vintage. I chose Uncorked for several reasons, and was not disappointed. On my first trip, I went into Uncorked on a Saturday evening around 6 pm and there were a few people there trying different flights of wine. It seemed like a lot of people knew each other, and from watching the crowd and meeting a few people over the hour I was there..there are quite a few regulars that come in. This may be intimidating at 1st, but I had the best time! I met quite a few people, and I loved the vibe. If you are going expecting to have a "Napa" experience I'm not sure that is what you will come away with. If you are looking to try some new wines, not be pressured into buying something outrageously expensive, and have a nice time...I highly recommend Uncorked. Patrick is very knowledgeable and will give you wine suggestions at any price point. He helped me choose wines for my party and he was an exceptional host, going out of his way to help make my party a complete success! He does get allocations of some hard to find wines, and will place orders for you if they do not carry the wine in the store. Uncorked is my new favorite spot in the area! read more

Did some wine tasting here a week ago. We tried the 5 wines tasting package. We only like 1 wine, but not enough to buy. The guy working behind the counter was nice, but he was too laid back and didn't offer us any information about the wine. We sat at a table, and he seemed much more comfortable to be behind the counter. It took forever to get his attention to pour the next round of wine. Our friends tried the 3 wines tasting package. They also did not like any of the wines. One of my friends was disappointed enough that she suggested we try another wine bar to at least undo the crappiness of this wine bar. Smart girl. This two starred review was based on my experience tonight. There was supposed to be a Wine 101 course being held there for $20 per person. I arrive there, the class was cancelled! No warnings or early notification to those who had signed up...the person behind the counter said there weren't "enough" people?!?! This may be a great place to taste and buy your wine but buyer beware if you set aside time to take a class there. An excellent place to taste local wines or to have a glass wine before dinner in downtown Saratoga. I've stopped in on several occasions and always enjoyed the wines available by the glass. I like the focus on local wines at the wine shop for take away. In addition, Uncorked has many wines available from around the world. I've purchased a great bottle of wine at Uncorked for dinner at nearby restaurants as corkage fees are reasonable at nearly all of the nearby establishments. Uncorked also offers wine clubs to sample local wines but I haven't joined any of them yet. read more

So I went here on a date and we were coming from a nearby winery (Pichetti - definitely try it, amazing wines). We were actually in downtown Saratoga looking for Stilletto's, but it was closed (not sure why they are closed on Saturdays???). We wanted to go for more wine and FOOD, but we ended up at Uncorked because it was well reviewed on Yelp. Unfortunately they do not have food, but the wines are very nice and we both got a glass and just chilled in the bar area. They serve goldfish crackers as a snack, so that helped the "hangries" :) We stayed only for one drink (we were starving) but given the price and the quality of wines, I would definitely go again. Also - if you buy a bottle, you get free corkage at 3 of the nearby restaurants. I recommend Mint Leaf - really yummy Asian cuisine with an amazing selection of food. read more
