This review is long overdue. I love Limon in MV. This is where I host my team dinners and they never disappoint. Drinks are strong and tasty and the food is always a hit. The veggies empanadas are always our go to. You really can't go wrong with this menu! I usually host dinners with 12+ and they always accommodate us in the smell private back room. Their staff is very attentive and thorough. This is our go to spot!

One of my favorite spots to eat at is Limón. They serve amazing Peruvian cuisine and the food never disappoints. We started with the empanada sampler, then ordered the lomo saltado, Limón ceviche, and their kale salad. Everything was flavorful and came out fresh. One thing I always appreciate about this place is not just the quality of the food, but also the customer service. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. The prices are a little on the higher side, but honestly, it's worth it every once in a while. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

Lomo saltado -- 3/5, it was good but was a tad bit salty Empanada sampler -- 5/5, SUPER GOOD Lychee sour, it was decent. 3/5 Salad -- standard. No rating here. Scallop ceviche -- 4/5 The fish, forgot the name but it was fried. -- 2/5 it came late due to fryer issues(?), and when we attempted to reheat the next day, we have come to realize that the other side of the fish has not been descaled. Absolutely inedible. Service 4/5.

I've never had Peruvian food before!! Since my boyfriend's from New York, he's used to having different Latin foods besides Mexican, but apparently here in California we only have Mexican food?! I need to get to New York!! Hee I was surprised to find out none of their food had monosodium glutamate in it/MSG! That's great for me since I'm freaking allergic to it! The restaurant was pretty packed this Sunday night so we sat at the bar. At least we didn't have to wait to be seated. Lol. Ambience was very dark yet I somewhat felt like I was at a rainforest Café and felt like dancing!! The music was great, and there was definitely a good vibe of people!! I'd love to come back here with my girlfriend and get some cocktails!! The food was delicious and filling!! I had the Peruvian version of paella, which is arroz con mariscos and there were so many pieces of seafood. It was ridiculous!! I'm surprised that plate didn't cost more money!! My Boyfriend's plate: steak and Fritz was very tasty for him as well although he's very picky and said he liked the New York version better, but even the Italian food we had here doesn't compare to the Italian New York food we had. Lol something is just different about it?! Regardless, I would love to come back here again and try more plates and cocktails!!

Went in with a party of 6, they were gracious enough to help hold our table as we were running late. We started with the ceviche mixto, lengua, octopus, and empanadas. For entrees, we got the pork belly fried rice, picante de mariscos, a whole chicken, and lomo saltado. The lengua, chicken, and pork belly were tender and flavored well - our group's favorites. However, we felt the portions were quite small, and there wasn't a lot to justify the price.

Nice atmosphere at the end of Castro Street in downtown Mountain View but we ended up waiting quite a while after ordering, which took away from the experience a bit. The chicken was on the dry side, and the octopus was just alright; I've definitely had bouncier, more tender versions elsewhere. That said, the arroz con mariscos really saved the day. Super creamy, packed with umami, and easily the standout dish. Overall a decent meal with a few highs and lows!

First time at this location and it was a great experience overall. The service and the food were both outstanding. Miguel, our server, took great care of us, very attentive and efficient throughout the whole time. For drinks, we ordered two pisco sours: the lychee pisco sour and the chicha morada pisco sour. Both were really good and well balanced. We started with the empanada sampler (chicken and beef), super tasty, with a great texture and flavorful filling. We also shared the ceviche trio, and I really liked it. Very fresh, citrusy, and well seasoned, exactly what you expect from a good ceviche. The ambiance was lively but still comfortable, perfect for a casual dinner with friends. Overall, everything was on point.

Love Limon! All the dishes are not just delicious, but beautifully plated. The Ceviche Limon is a pretty large portion and the fish very fresh. The tangy sauce goes so well with the ceviche, and the taro chips as an add-on is delicious too. The Lomo Saltado is a must-get. The beef is very tender, and goes very well with the onions and the sauce. The Arroz Con Mariscos is also very good - there's a lot of seafood to go with the rice. We would have liked the rice a bit more crispy on the bottom though, but it was good nonetheless. Definitely try a get a reservation though - if you don't go early enough, it's always packed and a long wait if you're walk in.

celebrated my friend's bday at limon! great service. had a reservation but still had a little wait. we ordered 3 apps which was honestly larger portions than expected. the ceviche had huge pieces of fish. the flavors were very limey. i liked the taro chips we added. the calamari with fried fish and shrimp was good as well. seasoned nicely. the cauliflower was also delicious as well. ordered the lomo saltado as my main. i really liked that the rice was coconut rice! the saltado itself was okay - i recommend asking for the green hot sauce that was good!! would recommend for a date night or bday! the brought out a mango dessert and sang for my friend.

Food and the restaurant vibe was decent. Place is packed and busy so getting servers attention was not easy.

Taro Chips [+$4]

Although this review is long, long overdue- Limon absolutely deserves it's flowers!! The restaurant specializes in authentic Peruvian flavors and dishes. Here you will also find multicultural flavors inspired by Chinese, French, Japanese, and Spanish fusion in each bite. Located in downtown Mountain View, this modern eatery offers a full bar, indoor, outdoor seating, and exudes FABULOSITY. The perfect place for catching up with my girl... Our party of two enjoyed a brunch spread of: * ARROZ CON MARISCOS * MIXTO CLASICO [ceviche] * TARO CHIPS * PONCHE -Gin, Yellow Chartreuse, cassis, passion fruit, elderflower liqueur, lemon, agave. * FESTEJO -tea infused Four Roses, passion fruit, lemon pineapple, agave, molasses bitters. DRINKS: Gawwwwwwdamn the drinks are strong. Like STRONG STRONG!! I'd be the first one to admit my tolerance hasn't been the best for quite some time but ya girl can typically throw back a drink or two and still be able to manage... Limon proved me wrong. Cocktails here are not only beautifully made but will also give you that *WHAM* effect because they do not skimp on the liquor aspect. FOOD: The arroz con mariscos was delicious. The seafood was perfectly cooked and the rice had a good texture without being dry or too wet. The mixto clasico ceviche was my favorite item of the meal- containing red snapper, calamari, shrimp, leche de tigre. The citrus marinade was the perfect compliment to the seafood, making everything taste so clean, bright, and fresh. The taro chips weren't overly thick or oily- these went well with the ceviche. Easily 5 stars when it comes to Limon & it's delicious flavors, minus one star because the customer service is very dry and honestly, unwelcoming. Maybe our party wasn't dressed for the part and we were just waaaay too casual but the vibes wasn't it.

I've been wanting to try this place for so long and it did not disappoint! Everything was so yummy and my favorite was the ceviche sampler. Paella was good too and decent portion with lots of seafood. I recommend making a reservation before coming

So delicious! I'm so glad we chose Limón to have lunch! If you are familiar with this area Mountain View you know there are LOTS of options! We sat at the bar and were immediately welcomed by the bartender. The hostess checked in on us as well, everyone was very attentive and the restaurant is beautiful! You have to try the Ceviche Limon- it was sooo fresh and so flavorful! Well done Limón!

No big deal, as I wanted the bar anyway, but something others should keep in mind. The cocktail list is plentiful and intriguing. I tend to avoid tequila, so that eliminated a good chunk of the options. I went with Rose Colored Lenses, which was fantastic, and decently sized. Presentation was beautiful. My friend had All a Dream, also very good. The wine offerings are minimal, this is very much a cocktail or champagne type of place, with caviar being the primary food service. Speaking of service, the bartender was excellent, both in his mixology and demeanor. It took awhile to get the drinks, but I assume that was due to the complexity of the cocktails, paired with having just opened the doors a few min earlier. Two notes: 1. The barstools were a little too low, imo. I don't normally pay much attention to that detail, but these were uncomfortably low for me, even with my long torso, I was hyper aware of my posture. So maybe that's actually a good thing 2. Other patrons were rolling in shortly behind me, so there is probably an early crowd when they first open, then a late night group that appreciates the 2am closing time. Interior is beautiful, and you can use the steps up to the 2nd floor either from N Santa Cruz or the rear parking lot off W Main. And it works! I would have most of these again! We started with drinks of course. Her cocktails are expensive ($20-23 per) so we veered into wine which was a hair bit more palatable ($17-20). I had a Syrah and boyfriend had the Cab. It was cool to hear that Stephanie personally picks what is featured and we have to say, her picks were right up our alley. Disco fries - awesome. Fries topped with pork, cotija cheese, jalapeños, and pickled onions. Savory, spicy, with that pop of acid. What's missing? A sweet element you say? She got you covered with a drizzle of coconut that can't be seen but can be tasted. Goat Empanadas: the Izard namesake. Super flaky pastry and the goat was treated exceptionally well. If you didn't tell me it was goat, I would have just assumed pork. The hucatay sauce was herby and delicious. We also used it for the fries. Hamachi Crudo: really liked her play on textures and flavors here. The puffed rice and the hamachi were really nice foils, but the true star were those peels of kumquat which are totally in season now - bright, citrusy, tart. Salmon - this was a tad on the salt bomb side for me. The miso base was salty because duh, miso. But then then salmon was also aggressively seasoned before having a sichuan spice oil generously covering it. The salmon was cooked perfectly otherwise. Pandan flan: toasted rice, macerated strawberries, and creamy pandan flavor. No complaints lol. I would definitely welcome a repeat experience. Unfortunately, we left regretting that decision. From the start, the experience felt unwelcoming when we were seated with our 3-year-old daughter. There was no single overtly disrespectful moment, but the overall tone and repeated small interactions made us feel like we were being judged for having a child with us. At one point, when our daughter accidentally dropped her fork while playing, the reaction we received came across as frustration, which added to that feeling. We understand not every restaurant is designed for young children, but Broma presents itself as a place for friends and family. Instead, we felt like we had to constantly manage and overcorrect normal toddler behavior, which created stress and took away from what should have been a special occasion. Because of that, we didn't feel comfortable raising concerns during the meal when the server checked in--we were more focused on getting through the experience without drawing additional attention. We were also offered an off-menu item without any mention of price. The menu we were given did not list the smash burger, so when I ordered a double, I had no context for the cost. The final price was a surprise, and we would have made a different decision with that information upfront. The food itself did not match the price point. The "smash burger" was not prepared in the style typically expected, and overall the meal felt underwhelming for the cost. Lastly, the billing was confusing. The paper receipt listed "gratuity," while the digital receipt labeled the same charge as a "service charge," making it unclear whether an additional tip was expected. That lack of clarity does not align with the level of transparency expected at this price point. We don't mind paying for a great experience, especially for meaningful occasions, but this visit did not meet that standard and ultimately left us regretting our choice to celebrate here.
