A decent alternative to Boiling Crab with the key difference being wait time. Reasonable wait times, competitive pricing, nice presentation of foods, clean restaurant. Unfortunately service isn't that great. Not very empathetic. On this visit, there was plenty of seating. They sat us next to the door and they even noticed that a person in our party od cold. We asked if we could sit elsewhere and they only want to squish us into a booth. We even asked if we could add a chair to the end of the table or if they could combine other tables, and they said that was our option or stay at the current table by the door. We chose to just stay by the door since we didn't want to feel squished. Note that all but one of the additional tables in the middle of the dining area went unused while we were there...meaning there should have been no reason why we weren't able to use tables there.
Came here with my coworker last night after work. She was craving cajun seafood. It was about 7pm, half empty. About 7:30pm, the whole place became packed. The staff brought the menu, we said it was our first time here, how do you order. I think he was either new or just shy but he didn't explain much how to order, other than I asking questions. My coworker and I ordered their 2 lbs; 1lb shrimp, half clams, half calamari with a free side of Corn. In a bag/plate, it already includes corn and potatoes. We asked how many corn there was, he said there was ONE. When the plate came, there was 4. We could of ordered something else for the side if it was clearer. I wish there was more clearer instructions on ingredients when we already said it was our first time dining in. Also there was only ONE single potato. My coworker also ordered a side of Garlic noodles. Everything was super delicious. It was the amount of spicy mild that we like. The environment was busy, but clean. Parking was easy to find. Just more explaining about what you offer, where the gloves are to eat, rather than you just pass us this tray of stuff. A need of more customer service would had been nicer.
Would definitely recommend the oysters !! They were super fresh, and I loved their cocktail sauce. For the boil, we ordered 3 lbs of snow crab, lobster tail, clams, and shrimp! I love their capt loui sauce! I would say the snow crab meat is not as flavorful, you have to definitely dip into the sauce more! For sides, I highly recommend the garlic bread and sausages. Pro tip: dip the garlic bread into the capt loui sauce !! it tastes amazing when it soaks up all the flavor.
This is a great place for seafood boils! The food is really yummy and the staff are so sweet and attentive. We went on a Wednesday around 6pm and there was no wait. We got a pound of shrimp sans heads and a pound of snow crab. We got sausage, potatoes and rice as sides. We chose the Cap't loui seasoning blend with medium spicy. The shrimp and crab were cooked perfectly and I'm glad we decided on the shrimps without heads because they were totally cleaned. We liked how everything came in a big bowl instead of a bag. I would get the mild spice level next time and the rice was a little dry/hard so we might go for garlic noodles instead. Overall great experience and the amenity bar was a nice touch with everything from toothpicks to hair ties.
Went again, and the food was once again amazing. The price is pretty steep (but then again it is seafood broil so makes sense). But there are plenty of sides (like the garlic noodles) along with a really yummy sauce to go with the seafood. It's not as spicy as you would expect, so if you want that get a higher level for ur spice
We just moved to Cupertino and were looking at food options available on a rainy day. This restaurant was within walking distance of our new home. Based on other yelp reviews, decided to give this a try. We were not very hungry so we just decided to get a pound of the shrimp (easy peel, head off) with hot as our spice level. Our server said that it was about 8/10 on the hot rating. It was not that hot for us - I would say it was a 5 or 6 at best. But definitely full of flavor and very delicious. Portions are large and was enough for 2! We also had a side of the garlic noodles. For my non seafood son, we ordered the chicken tenders basket with fries. The fries were served hot and crunchy and tasted great. A very casual area yet had positive vibes! The food came out rather quickly. We were given a paper 'plate' with gloves, wet wipes, bibs. Plenty of napkins on the table. We did not use the bibs or gloves but did use the other items. As other reviewers had mentioned, there's a self service area for water, hand lotion. In the restroom, there's also mouth wash - I assume to help reduce that garlicky breath after eating this heavenly food!! On the way out, there's complimentary popsicles. A really nice way to end a meal. Definitely will be returning to try other items.

It went so well with all the seafood, corn, and sausages. We thought the dish presentation was a nice touch, compared to other places that just gave you bags of the seafood. Service was attentive, as we were able to request replacement gloves, bubs, and other items and receive them fairly quickly. Also appreciated the hand cream at the self service station to help get rid of the smell at the end!
Bestie recommended and took me to try Cap't Loui, she promised this will be the best seafood boil I ever had. I was skeptical at first but by the end of our meal, I'm completely sold and ended up coming back for more the next weekend! The store ambiance and decoration have a modern and simple vibes. Seating options are booths or tables, they also have a self-serve area for you to get napkins and waters, but your server will take care all of that for you as soon as you sit down! Service was quick and attentive during all of my visits, food also arrive within 10-15 minutes after ordering. Menu was simple and straight forward, everything listed nicely in one single page. I really appreciated the fact that they only have 2 types of sauces: Cap't Loui & Lemon Pepper, on average other seafood boil restaurant usually have at least 4 types of different sauces and it was pretty overwhelming for me because I want to try them all at one point. I'm also really love their combo concept, my favorite is the Pick 3lbs Combo (get 2 sides for free), and most of their seafood items offers 1/2 lbs size, so if you likes to try multiple things in your combo you definitely can. For the sides, I'm totally recommended garlic noodles and fries with lemon pepper (if you order Cap't Loui sauce for your bag and vice versa). Their sauces are very well-made, flavors were balance and so addicting, me and my girl went with mild level, we were happy with it. Another friend of mine ordered his bag with hot and he said it was quite spicy so make sure you can handle the heat. The quality of seafood was great and good portion size, Cap't Loui definitely on the pricey side but they totally worth it imo! Bonus point for the way how they serve your food, they provided a full set of: bib, gloves, wet napkin, utensil, and paper plates. I'm extremely love that they put the seafood in a big metal plate instead of plastic bag, it makes such a big different for me, the food feels tastier, well present, and more enjoyable that way. Lastly, they offers free ice cream on the way out so I took advantage of it big time lol, nothing better than end the savory dinner with a (or a few) chocolate popsicle to clean your palette.

We love their seafood boil. Once you sit, the staff was attentive, but getting their attention once entering was a bit difficult. Definitely not an every day experience, but a place we go to once in a while for a special occasion. Staff needs to sync up a bit, but everyone was kind and helpful.
We've been here once before and came back because it was the best seafood boil we've had in awhile, however this time was a 10/10 experience. They were soooo baby friendly! We've never had a baby friendly experience while dining like this. They saw me giving our 7 month old water out of my open cup and a waitress brought a small water bottle and a straw for him, and then after they brought our food out they brought him a complimentary apple sauce packet. So sweet. We are moving out of the area but will definitely return for visits!
My husband and I wanted seafood boil,so tried this spot because we were in the area. We were seated pretty quickly on a Sunday night. The niners game was on and the restaurant was packed. We tried the pound of shrimp mild capt'n loui sauce and a pound of shrimp no spice lemon pepper sauce. The seafood boil came with corn and potatoes. We also ordered lemon pepper fries, garlic noodles, and got lemon with salt/pepper on the side. The cap'n loui sauce could have had a little more seasoning. I couldn't figure out what it was missing. My husband said the lemon pepper was perfect. We both enjoyed our shrimp and garlic noodles. The fries could have had more lemon pepper flavor. They provide wet wipes, bibs, and gloves which was a plus! Also had plenty of napkins. Not messy at all. Food was delicious, service was quick, and we would definitely come again if we were in the area.

This has to be the most overdue review I've ever written. Cap't Loui not only is the best seafood boil restaurant around but also one of the best restaurants PERIOD. 5 star restaurant that includes 5 star food (shrimp, crawdads, garlic noodles, garlic bread, Cajun fries), 5 star cleanliness, and the most outstanding 5 star service you will ever receive. My wife and I consistently come to Cap't Loui for our beloved Friday date nights at least once a month. We are ALWAYS so impressed with the yummy food (we always get 2lbs shrimp/2lbs crawfish combo in Medium Cap't Loui sauce with garlic noodles, garlic bread, and Cajun fries). Wifey and I are stuffed after this but will cleanse our palate with complimentary popsicles in the freezer by the entrance. So yes, the seafood boil and food is absolutely phenomenal. But even MORE impressive is the generationally excellent customer service, in particular from Aung and Edward. They are true servant leaders and I noticed they take care of each and every patron as if they were family members or royalty. Between the delicious food and the brilliant customer service, you better bet your bottom dollar that my wife and I will continue having our traditional Friday night dates at Cap't Loui!!!! read more

4.5 Stars Rating (: Been hearing about Cap't Loui for awhile now, but haven't tried it until now! I usually go to Cajun Bistro for seafood boil, but I find the quality of the seafood there to be inconsistent, which made me want to try a new place. I got the 4lb combo with crawfish (frozen, fresh is $5 extra), shrimp, and clams, including corn, sausages, and potatoes. We also got garlic noodles and a calamari basket with cajun fries. For seafood boil sauce, we opted for the cajun instead of lemon pepper. I wasn't sure if I would finish everything, but it was INHALED. I really like the seafood quality here, but sauce-wise, I prefer Cajun Bistro for the garlic butter sauce. Cap't Loui does not offer that sauce, but it was still delicious overall. Service is timely and our food came fast, so thats a big plus. Only complaint I have here is that I wish there was more sauce in the bowl. The bowl had too much food, so I couldn't dip or soak my seafood in the flavor. read more

This is probably the first seafood boil I ever had that I did not like. First thing I noticed when I got it was, where is the sauce? Every seafood boil I've ever had always had a good amount of sauce. Tried the sauce and it seemed flavorless. I asked the waiter if he could bring more sauce and lemons to see if that would help, and the side of sauce he brought was mainly oil with no flavor and lots of sugar??? Very confused and I got the lemon pepper medium sauce. I did not taste any savory flavor. My friends seemed to really like the food but I didn't understand. After eating, I felt nauseous and later had diarrhea that night. Service was pretty good, they gave us hair ties. However they missed 3 items from our order and our garlic noodles never came. I had to get that taken off the bill when I went to pay. read more

I took my friends here to try it for their first time and I can say that they will definitely be coming back. We came 30 minutes before they close and was honestly not expecting to get seated. Shockingly, they took us in and honestly the whole staff was beyond sweet and patient. We really appreciate them for taking us in for a last minute night dinner. Shout out to the Korean waiter and the whole staff! Food: Goly, it always hit the spot. Me and my boyfriend got 1/2 shrimp and 1/2 crawfish with their signature sauce in hot. It always hit the spot. My friends got 2 lbs shrimp and 1 lb crawfish in medium with their signature sauce. They devoured it. I would say if you have low spice tolerance, definitely get the medium. But if you love spice a lot, then definitely get the hot! I personally find extra hot too spicy to enjoy the food. The area was clean and well kept! I have nothing else to say for it. read more

I was in town and decided to try this place because of the high ratings but honestly, some of those ratings must be fake. The food was underwhelming. Portions are small for the price, and the seafood seriously lacked flavor. All I could taste was oil, seasoning salt, and sugar. Felt like a total waste of money. Service was fast, which is a plus, but the only thing I actually liked was the Capri Sun drink. Smh... HARD PASS. read more

On a calm Saturday afternoon, my partner and I needed to fill a void that a lack of seafood boil had caused. We decided to try out Cap't Loui. We ordered the 3 lb combo for 2 free sides. So, we did 1.5 lb shrimp, 1 lb king crab and 0.5 lb mussel as well as the cajun fries and 3 boiled eggs. For the sauce we did the Cap't Loui medium. Individually, each type of seafood comes at a market price that is listed up on the wall, and the restaurant is decked out with things for the customer experience. Whether its a whole variety of hand lotions or the bandaids if you cut yourself. However, for me the seafood didn't live up to the same standards. The shrimp were great and cooked well, but the mussels were a little overcooked, and the king crab was quite mid. They were clearly frozen for a long time as the texture had degraded and they were pretty fishy as well. Especially for the price, it should be better quality. The sauce could use a little more garlic, but otherwise it's pretty good. Overall I liked it, but I'm gonna go to other places first. read more

New favorite seafood boil spot! The seafood was FRESHHHHH, freshest I've ever tasted. And the portions were huge for the same price point as the other places we've gone to. It also came with two sides and we opted for two garlic noodles on top of it. I wish we lived closer but we'll definitely go thru the extra drive just to visit again! read more

Soooooo good! Definitely wasn't expecting the amount of food after ordering 1lb of shrimp and 1lb of king crab legs. The only down side to this restaurant is the waiting time, we waited up to an hour for our table, but once that was settled customer service and food was great. read more
Cap't Loui - A Lively Seafood Gem! We visited on a bustling evening and absolutely loved the energy--it's casual, lively, and delightfully messy in the best way. They hand you bibs, wet wipes, and plastic utensils right away after you place your order, which shows they know what they're doing. Makes digging in both fun and worry-free! We have ordered 2 of the 4 lbs seafood which come with 3 side dishes. The king crabs, Dungeness crab, calamari, crawfish, shrimps without heads, mussels. We have tried both the Loui mild sauce and lemon pepper sauce. Both were quite good. The sweet potato fries and Cajun fries were tasty. Cap't Loui delivers exactly what it promises: a fun, flavorful seafood boil and a lively atmosphere to match. I do not understand the hype with this place. We had a thirty minute wait to get seated, and there were crowds of people waiting for us to leave, so I thought this place has to be legit....whelp...it sure wasnt. We ordered a 3-lb combo with the Capt Loui sauce, Med Heat....and it looked GREAT when it came out,, but the shrimp lacked any real flavor once we dove in. I thought it was just me, but my six colleagues echoed the same conclusion that this was one of the worst seafood boils we've ever been to. Cap't Loui was a great eat! My gf and I got the snow crab, shrimp (head off), live crawfish, and mussels. I have to say the live crawfish was my absolute favorite - it was juicy and fresh enough to the point where I could actually eat the meat from the claws! The sauce is pretty oily but has a nice sweet flavor to it that makes it super delicious. I also really enjoyed the fries - they actually reminded me of Potato Corner which I LOVE. Overall, recommend giving this place a try for some great seafood boil! read more
I came here for lunch with my friends a couple weeks ago because I saw this crawfish place was a newer spot with good reviews. We got seated immediately as we walked in. I like that they provide a paper "bowl" with wet wipes, disposable gloves and bibs for you without you having to ask for anything. We did one of their combos and got crawfish, shrimp and clams - spicy level. We also ordered their Cajun fries and garlic noodles. The Cajun fries were so good. There was so much flavor packed into the fries, I couldn't stop eating it throughout the whole meal. The garlic noodles were different from what I'm used to at other seafood boil places, but ir wasn't bad at all! They use a different pasta noodle here, so the garlic noodles ended up tasting like... juicer? It that makes sense haha. Not as dry or cheesy as other places. As for the combo we ordered, we felt like there wasn't enough sauce to dip our fries into like we do at other places. We ended up asking for sauce on the side and we really appreciated how they didn't charge us for when we asked. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. If you're a spicy lover, you could probably order one level spicier! I would definitely come back with my friends when I'm craving crawfish. :) read more
Came here twice, we really enjoyed the Cajun seafood boil here! We ordered: - Crawfish - Shrimp w/head on - Snow crab Sides: Garlic noodles, corn, potatoes, fries I was worried my picky 9 year old kid would find the Cap't Loui sauce (mild) too spicey, but the whole family enjoyed it! The seafood tasted fresh and well seasoned on top of the boil sauce. The only thing I didn't like was that the crawfish was small and a lot of work, but we really enjoyed the shrimp and snow crab. Garlic noodles and corn (added to the boil) were also a hit, definitely recommend. To avoid waiting in line, we added ourselves to the waitlist before we left the house. Great place for vietcajun seafood! Super friendly service, the seafood is tasty and well prepared. They have great sides that other similar restaurants don't have. Boiled eggs - yes!! Broccoli - yess!! All yummy. Everythis has a great vietcajun seasoning - not overly buttery or greasy tasting. Def recommend this place. read more

The food here was absolutely delicious! This was my first time trying seafood boil and I was blown away. I'm not a huge fan of seafood but everything was so flavorful and delicious. The snow crab was definitely a stand out and the garlic noodles were a perfect side to round out the meal. We ordered Combo #2, which includes two pounds of seafood. While it sounds like a lot, it ended up being a bit less filling than expected, just something to keep in mind if you're coming hungry! The service was great and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. What sauce taste the best here? I like crawdaddy's sauce but the closed ..
We love the Capt Loui sauce in mild. We love spicy and believe or not mild has just the right amount of spice in it for us. We tried the medium heat and it was still really good but too spicy for us.
Do you boil the sausage in the same pot as the shrimp and crab?
Yes. Sausage, corn and potatoes all get boiled in the same pot.
What time does the $1 oysters start on wednesdays?
